Avis sur Rua Thai Brooklyn
This Thai restaurant is amazing! The food is super flavorful and tastes very authentic. I ordered Pad Thai, Tom Yum , Tom kha soup, everything was delicious. The seafood was fresh and the portions were generous. The place was clean and cozy, and the staff were very friendly and attentive. I would definitely come back again! ✨
We were craving Thai food and happened to come across Rua Thai on our trusty Yelp app. My husband ordered Massaman curry chicken lunch special with dumplings and I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken and spring rolls lunch special. The food was delicious. The flavor was impeccable and was balanced right. The service was top notch and the ladies were nice. The atmosphere was very nice and comfy. We loved the decor with the cute lamps, flowers, and embroidered pillows. This is a nice place for a date.
this solo diner found peace in this oasis of beauty on Smith Street! The lunch special is quite generous and tasty; I got the Pad See Yu with chicken; the noodles and veggies were perfectly cooked. The crab rangoon had a nice crispy and cheesy flavor that worked well with the sweet chili sauce. I indulged in a Color Changing Lemonade-the butterfly pea flower gave it a blue color that then metamorphosed into a more pinkish purple hue with the addition of lemon juice. Service was exemplary. All in all a very pleasant experience.
Really great Thai spot in Brooklyn! The food was full of flavor and everything tasted super fresh. We tried the Mala Wings, Tom Yum Soup, Drunken Noodles, and the Teriyaki Steak — all amazing! The staff were really friendly and the atmosphere was cozy but stylish. Perfect for a casual dinner or date night 🍜💛 Highly recommend if you’re around Smith Street!
RUA Thai is a cozy Thai restaurant in Brooklyn with a warm and relaxed atmosphere. The staff is friendly and the service is smooth. The Grab Curry (soft shell crab curry) is the highlight — rich flavor, real Thai spice, and very delicious with rice. The Thai Iced Tea is creamy and helps balance the heat. The cocktail Chili & The Moon is fun and unique. It’s made with mezcal and mango puree, and it comes with sweet crispy fish snacks on the side — surprisingly tasty. The Steak & Egg Teriyaki Fried Rice is also very good. The steak is tender and the egg on top makes the rice extra flavorful. For dessert, the Mango Coconut Sticky Rice is fresh and sweet, with strong coconut flavor. Overall, great food, real Thai taste, and a nice place to relax. Definitely worth trying!
During my recent visit to Rua Thai in Brooklyn, I was impressed by the perfect combination of a cozy atmosphere and attentive service. The restaurant's interior, designed in Thai style, exudes warmth, making it a welcoming space suitable for both casual dining and special events. From the appetizer menu, we tried the Shrimp Donuts, which were wonderfully creamy, accompanied by a sauce that was truly delicious, along with the most exquisite Cheesy Crab Rangoon. For the main course, the Kai Tod Had Yai special was beautifully prepared, flaky, and seasoned to perfection. They even adjusted the spice level of the Rua Volcano to be milder just for us, and it was delightful. The team at Rua Thai demonstrated remarkable attentiveness. Our server offered valuable suggestions, quickly refilled our drinks, and made certain that our dining experience was pleasant. I highly recommend Rua Thai Restaurant.
If you’re getting tired of the usual Thai dishes, this spot near Dumbo is such a fun surprise. Definitely has that street-food vibe, basically heaven for anyone who loves fried goodies and carbs. 🍍 Royal Pineapple Fried Rice Came here mainly for this and it did not disappoint. The pineapple is sweet and fragrant, and the soft-shell crab and fried shrimp are super crispy. The cashews add a nice touch too, wish they were a bit crunchier, but overall the dish is addictive. 🍩 Shrimp Donut Dip it in the sweet & sour sauce and it’s perfect. 🦀 Crab Curry Crispy soft-shell crab with yellow curry is already a win, but mixing it with rice is when you realize there’s so much crab meat hidden at the bottom. Extremely satisfying. 🍗 Rua Volcano Thai version of sweet & sour chicken, comforting and so easy to enjoy. 🥭 Mango Sticky Rice The sticky rice is soft, sweet, and rich because the coconut milk is fully cooked into it. Only downside is that it’s not mango season, so the mango wasn’t the sweetest, but now I finally understand why this dessert is often “summer only” at many restaurants.
Amazing Thai spot in Brooklyn! The Tomyum grilled river prawns were flavorful and beautifully presented, and the teriyaki fried rice with steak and egg came sizzling hot and perfectly seasoned. Great Thai tea too — rich and creamy. Cozy vibe and super friendly staff. Definitely coming back! 🇹🇭✨
Came here for a fun night out and RUA Thai delivered great atmosphere and food. The vibe is lively and really does feel like a Bangkok street stall. We loved the Mama Tom Yum Grilled River Prawns—the instant noodle cup presentation was as tasty as it was fun, and the prawns were juicy. The Pineapple Fried Rice with Softshell Crab was also a standout, with the crispy crab adding a fantastic texture. The Appetizer Sampler is perfect for trying a bit of everything, and the Duck Crepe was a flavorful start. A solid choice for a casual, flavorful meal with friends!
Decor is super cute- traditional elements and lots of color and florals Staff is very friendly and attentive Food is delicious. Thai iced tea was great. Green curry with chicken very tasty. I had as is, so spice was a little more than medium. Spring rolls had nice crunch and the sauce had great flavor. The peanut dressing for the salad was light and tasty. Overall, great lunch experience. Would come again if I'm in the area.
Finally found the Thai spot we’ve been craving in BK! Rua Thai’s vibe is cozy and fun (floating market inspo is so cool), and the food is next-level fresh. Shrimp donuts were crispy perfection, Mama Tom Yum Grilled River Prawns had insane flavor and spice, and the drunken noodles were loaded and wok-tossed just right. Friendly service, great portions. We’ll be regulars now. 🌶️🍤 Highly recommend to anyone hunting for authentic Thai in Brooklyn!
Loved everything ordered here! The Pad Krapow Pork was super flavorful with just the right amount of spice, and the Thai Tea Pad Thai was such a fun twist — rich, slightly sweet, and perfectly balanced. The Leaf Pudding was light, fragrant, and a really unique way to end the meal. Cozy vibe and great Thai comfort food.
RUA Thai in Cobble Hill is an absolute gem. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting, and the food truly delivered. The Crab curry was the standout—perfectly crispy soft shell crab paired with a rich, fragrant curry that was full of depth without being overwhelming. The chicken drunken noodles were also excellent: savory, well-balanced, and packed with flavor, with tender chicken and just the right amount of heat. We started with the crab rangoons, which were light, crispy, and generously filled—honestly some of the best I’ve had. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared, and the portions were very satisfying. RUA Thai is easily one of the best Thai spots in the area, and I’ll definitely be coming back to try more of the menu. Highly recommend if you’re in Cobble Hill and craving quality Thai food. 🍜🦀🌶️
Felt like stepping into Thailand 🇹🇭 the moment we walked in—beautiful Thai-inspired decor and a very relaxing vibe. The staff were friendly and attentive. We loved the chicken satay, Tom Yum Soup with Tofu (mild, warm, and comforting), and the Mama Tom Yum served right in the cup 🍜. The Duck Yaowarat was tender, flavorful, and perfect with rice. Overall, a chill and satisfying Thai dining experience.
Tried Rua Thai for the first time and had a great experience overall. One dish that really stood out was Pad Sa Tor (stink bean stir-fry). I had never tried stink beans before, and the server kindly explained what it was. It’s definitely a unique flavor — a little funky but surprisingly fragrant and very savory. The pork was stir-fried with shrimp paste, which added a lot of depth, and it paired extremely well with rice. Different from what I usually order, but I’m really glad I tried it. We also ordered the shrimp donut as an appetizer, which was crispy and delicious when dipped in the sweet chili sauce. The yaowarat duck was flavorful with crispy skin, and the pad see yu had great wok flavor. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared. Overall, the food felt authentic, the service was friendly, and the menu had a lot of interesting options beyond the typical Thai dishes. Definitely a place I’d come back to if I’m craving Thai food with bold flavors.
We love the interior environment of this restaurant!! It’s so pretty and elegant. Our favorite dish is the Gra-Praw Over Rice. I recommend everyone to try it! The Tom Yum Soup is creamy and super flavorful! The mama instant noodle and crab curry are okay. Overall we had a great experience. The waitresses are all very nice!
I came here incidentally because my usual Thai spot up the street was closed (Monday) . I came in around noon and there weren’t many people (2 other guests) but the reviews were good so I figured it’s worth a try. Not the best . I was led astray by reviews but perhaps what I ordered? I just ordered calamari and the appetizer sampler and Thai iced tea ($53.00) . Calamari wasn’t bad. A bit more “crunch” and breading with less calamari than I would have liked but still flavorful . In the sampler The satay was TERRIBLE. Didn’t taste fresh at all and was very hard to eat despite the fact that it wasn’t burnt or anything. Very tough and dry . I told the waiter and she literally just said “oh ok would you like a to go box” . Super weird. I said “no thanks I’ll just take the check”. I will not return. The crab Rangoon was actually very good so at least there was something positive so I gave 3 stars. Peanut sauce delicious and Thai iced tea ok
I was looking for a spot to grab lunch and walked by this place. Did a quick google search and the reviews were good so I decided to give it a try. I ordered 2 lunch specials and paid about $30 total. It was around 2 pm on a Friday and there were just 2 people dining in. The decor is probably the best thing about this place. It makes you feel like you’ve stepped outta Brooklyn, right into Thailand. The dumplings were yummy but that’s about it. Food was basic and bland. The presentation was there at all (they could’ve done better even for take out). The crispy fried chicken that’s supposed to go with one of the rice looked like a damn joke. The girl behind the bar seemed annoyed that I asked for a menu like ma’am. Let’s be so forreal ! She also had an attitude with the couple who were drinking because their meal was incorrect. I would NOT recommend !!
