Some of the best Thai food I’ve had in this city. It’s takeout only... and I would love for them to one day have the space to sit and have a meal (post COVID) but in the meantime, this is about as good as it gets when it comes to Thai food in NYC. Their curries have so much flavor.. and their coconut mango sticky rice is just about the most delicious thing on this planet.
I work in the area on a daily basis and have tried much of the food options in the area. Sawasde is hands down the best Thai food and I'll even go as far to say, best meal you will find. Everything is made to perfection consistently and tastes fresh. Nong and the staff are always very accommodating and friendly. Dishes can all be altered to your liking, down to the smallest detail. Give this restaurant a try, you won't be disappointed.
Tasty, quick, convenient, friendly. Decent prices. Not sure what else you could ask for in a takeout place.
I have been ordering from Sawasde for years. We often order different dishes, and I can honestly say every single thing we've tried has been delicious. The service is also excellent, and food is always ready for pick up quickly. Sawasde has become my comfort food restaurant, and I'm so thankful they continue to serve the Kensington community.
Everything is amazing I've been eating here for about 11 years straight and I'm only a kid!! I've never had any inconveniences here anything you buy will be delicious!
We keep meaning to write this review, but we are too busy eating the most amazing Thai food in New York City. I have been to Thailand- this is not an exaggeration. The spices are perfect, the quality of the food is CONSISTENTLY amazing, and nothing on the menu is ever done halfway. You could order the most basic Thai dish and it will be better than anything you've ever ordered. There are no throw aways in this menu. Please do yourself a favor- order from here. I do not care if it means they'll be busier, for I will happily wait hours for it. (You never will. So fast.) ขอบคุณ, Sawasde Thai Cooking!!!!
love this spot - I live around the corner and the lady is so nice, the prices are a little high but portions are big and I usually have leftovers!
Been ordering here for years. Great service and quality. Thank you!
I ordered from this place for the first time, and I will order again (it was home delivery - so gave 5x stars for the extremely fast arrival). I was very pleased with the 4x items: Mango Salad, Beef Salad (Tiger), Chicken Green Curry, and Beef Noodle Soup. I ordered everything "Medium" and it was actually too hot for this lover of spicy food. So next time I will try MILD which I never order at a Thai place. But the flavors and quantities were perfect, and very very few places make / sell Thai Beef Salad, which I love. So look forward to next order and I'll update my review then :-)
Sawasde has the best Thai food in the neighborhood (and even adjacent neighborhoods)! The food is high quality and the delivery time is always super fast. We have been ordering from here, practically weekly, for years! The one time there was a mix up with our order, they quickly corrected it and sent us extra dishes as an apology which was so unnecessary and kind of them to do. We love Sawasde!! 🙏
Hands down my favorite take-out Thai in Kensington. The staff are always unfailingly polite and the food is good. The prices have gotten quite high which is why I don't come here nearly as often anymore, but I imagine that is not their fault.

This place is a hidden gem. Truly delicious and authentic Thai food at very reasonable prices. Everything I had was spot on. The drunken noodles are really well prepared and so is the pad thai, the emerald curry and the chicken and coconut soup. The sticky rice with ripe mangoes is also excellent for a sweet ending to a fiery meal. The food is pleasantly spicy as it should be and they will adjust it if that's not your thing. Highly recommended.
This is our go-to Thai place where we just order over phone and pick up in 15 mins. We really like their veg drunken noodles. Do try their appetizers and curries too. Average dish price used to be $10, but with this inflation it has gone to $15. You can ask them to make it more spicy and add/modify stuff depending upon availability. The staff is quite co-operative and nice

I've been eating here since the day they opened. In the beginning, they used to have really good deals for Lunch. Covid hit and they got rid of their lunch specials. Everything else stayed the same taste wise except for the Pad Thai. They've gotten so stingy with the ingredients. It used to come with sliced Tofu and authentic Pad Thai sauce...now it just tastes bland and at times oily. Don't try and cut corners especially with a staple dish...it really shows.
Customer service is excellent here. The lady at the front is ALWAYS pleasant. The food is very tasty!!! I usually get various lunches from there: Panaan cuŕry, chicken and curry pad thai, sticky rice and pineapple fried rice. I would recommend this place.

I ordered from here with great expectations based on the reviews and a recommendation from a local of the area. I will agree with other reviewers that the service was extremely prompt, and the serving size is large but that's about where it ends. The food itself was mediocre at best. I felt like i ordered from a Chinese restaurant opposed to a Thai restaurant--the food was bland and lacked the authentic spices and flavors which is the main embodiment of Thai food. The shrimp pad Thai I ordered tasted like dry ramen, and I could count the pieces of shrimp it contained on one hand. If you're a genuine Thai food lover--don't expect much ordering from here.

Order 20 minutes b4 my lunch break. Waited 53 minutes before the food came. Lunch break over in 7 minutes. U do the math. Not enough food for $16.88

Comically high prices for mediocre food at small portions. Lady was pretty rude and charged me to switch dressings (ridiculous). If the food was plentiful and super delicious the price could be withstood, but it was humble to say the least.
Went in and ordered a fried rice yesterday 11/23/2023. The price is $14.15 and I handed the lady a $20 bill. She took the money and put in the cashier machine, then asked me if I have 15 cents. I said yes and gave her 2 Dimes. She return me 5 cents and then walked away to pack the food. I had to ask for the $6 change. They just like to play the game like this. Sneaky trick business. The food had no flavor. I ate less than 20%, and fed the squirrel with the rest.
