Avis sur The Ocky Way Chocolate Factory Brooklyn
Stopped by Red Hook Food Corp (Ocky Way) after seeing it all over social media and had to try the viral chopped cheese. I wasn’t even 100% sure what the official name was Ocky Way, Red Hook bodega but either way, I found it. Honestly? It blew my expectations. I went in thinking it was going to be overhyped because of TikTok, but the chopped cheese was legit. Fresh, flavorful, perfectly messy in the best way. You can tell they’ve mastered what they do. It’s not fancy, it’s not trying to be upscale it’s just good, real bodega food done right. The energy inside is exactly what you’d expect from a viral NYC bodega busy, loud, fun. If you’re in Brooklyn and even slightly curious, just go try it.
My brother sent me Ocky Way's tiktok and said I had to visit. I checked his tiktok for inspiration and travelled 45mins. I ordered a chopped cheese on Jamaican patty the Ocky way! Maaaaaayne, it was BEAUTIFUL. There was cheese, tomato, turkey bacon, hash brown, meat from the patty and the patty itself. Who thinks of things like this?? Very innovative. Ocky was there and just as lovely/friendly as he is in his videos. There were a few people in the store taking pics and stuff. It was nice to see.
Decided to stop in and try a sandwich the ‘Ocky way’. Just as i walked in, the staff greeted us and i immediately knew what i wanted from the tik tok’s! The food was absolutely delicious, and we even got the iconic ‘dont forget the bev… never, never, never’ on video! One of the best experiences in New York! I would highly recommend!
Came in for a chopped cheese the Ocky Way. In a Jamaican patty. Was shown extra love as the staff arranged 2 extra seats for me and my cousin to eat in comfort. Large drink selection. And various other items from the deli to choose from. Dont 4get the bev. Neva Neva Neva.
Went to NY for Christmas Break and per our 15 year old son, stopping at The Ocky Way was a must! Glad he insisted!! This ended up being one of the trip highlights! Our food was great and the staff made the experience even better! Customers were all smiling, having fun and taking videos of their experience!
Quick stop, big flavor. The Ocky Way takes classic bodega sandwiches and adds just the right amount of chaos. Fun, indulgent, and worth trying at least once.
YO! I felt like such a tourist coming here 😆 but the staff was super friendly and lived up to the social media hype! I ordered the chopped cheese THE OCKY WAY! And my gosh was it delicious 😋 What you see on the videos online is how they interact with customers when you go. They even encourage recording ur order and ordering process, willing to go over it again for the perfect take! Made the experience all the more enjoyable!
Visiting New York for the first time ever and obviously had to to stop in! Great atmosphere, great people, great service, and most importantly phenomenal food. I got the Philly Cheese the Ocky Way and it was BOMB. I also added my choice of chip to the sandwich and that really just put the cherry on top. Even with limited seating they still made room for us to sit so we could really enjoy and take it all in! 10/10, worth the stop!!
The best Philly steak sandwich i've ever had. The people are genuinely the nicest people i have ever spoken with. First time in NYC and will be coming back here every time. Mo and the rest of the team are the best. Keep it up you lot!
Loved this place!!! So much fun and for being so famous they were still so humble and down to earth. Showed so much love and had the best experience. Would definitely come back again soon when I’m in NYC and may god bless the business more. Truly great and humble people who deserve the hype and success. Not overhyped at all, try them out !!! You won’t regret it. Good vibes all around this place
Such a cool experience! I’ve been watching his YouTube videos for a while and finally got to try the famous chopped cheese, I absolutely loved it. It was definitely worth the wait, though the line moved quickly. The person running the counter did an amazing job channeling Ock’s signature catchphrases, which made the experience even more memorable.
My husband came across Ocky way videos on YouTube in London and it was clear to say we needed to try it on our trip to New York. We made the trip from Manhattan to Brooklyn and it did not disappoint. We had the Philly steak on a Jamaican patty and a chopped cheese on a Jamaican patty both was 10/10. Anytime we come to New York we will million percent go ocky way again. Fresh, delicious and made to order. Great quality and reasonably priced.
If your looking for a different experience than your typical deli this is the spot. Although Ocky himself was not in that day the other people there who I assume are his family give you a good experience. Had the beef patty chop cheese and the honey bun bacon egg and cheese both were excellent and filling.
Surprisingly despite all the hype, they were very inconsistent with our order. Went in around 11am/12pm. Ordered 3 beef sandwiches. 2 were under seasoned, 20$ for a sandwich is really expensive. Overall not worth the hype, food was decent at best. Not worth a long commute, maybe we got it on a bad time? Staff and atmosphere are amazing though. Food? Not so much.
