I went in to get two salads to go. A wonderful young lady by the name of Jasmine took my order and was so kind and showed me that there were two types of the same chicken salad. She smiled was so helpful and I let the manager know that she is awesome, because I used to be a waitress and to walk in and have somebody smiling and going above and beyond is what I look for when I go in a restaurant whether it's take out or dine in. She was the best!

My experience at Applebee’s. Oceanside was absolutely amazing. I would definitely refer this place to friends and family. This restaurant has taken a great turn for the best. Staff is always super welcoming and inviting. Management always makes sure food and drinks are amazing. I always come back to visit and sit at the bar with the bartender Jon. He always makes sure we love our drinks and is great to have a conversation with because he makes me feel like family sitting at the bar.

Nicole and Evette were absolute gems…very professional and social, I stopped in for a quick drink and appetizer everything was on point, Courtney the manager also came out to check on guests and I told her how wonderful of a job everyone was doing. Great food and quick service. We came as a family of 6. What made our dining experience was our server Dorian! Talk about WOWing us with kindness, efficiency and excellence! We had 2 kids with us and you know kids… sometimes kids can be messy or needy. Dorian made our kids feel special and remembered their order preferences. He refilled our drinks, checked in on us throughout and just made our experience so wonderful! We are coming back and will request a table in his area. What a great experience. We sat at the bar top last night and I believe the servers name was Garrett. He was most pleasant and helpful, always smiling and anticipating our every need. What a great asset for your company. We aren’t from the area but if we were this would have become our new favorite restaurant.

Honestly, I haven’t been to an Applebees since I was a kiddo in the 2000’s. I didn’t have a good experience then, and then our group of friends stopped by at midnight one night, wasn’t expecting much. But the service was immaculate, bar tenders had amazing knowledge and skills, the cooks were on point with their food. Prices are also insanely competitive. Definitely have grown through the years while other places just worsen with time.

The bartender Nicole was the absolute best. Friendly and attentive. Far and away the best bartender I've ever had at an Applebee's.

Came in with a party of 8. Had an issue with one of the meals and reported it to our server Matt. The manager Courtney came out and apologized and promptly had it remade. I had a really great experience here. The restaurant was clearly very busy, and my food took a little longer than expected. I politely asked about the timing, and the manager immediately stepped in. He kindly brought me complimentary chips and salsa and sincerely apologized for the wait. About 10 minutes later, my food arrived, and everything tasted amazing. What truly impressed me was that the manager came back, asked how long I had been waiting, and then generously took the meal off my bill. That level of customer care speaks volumes. I truly appreciated how professionally and thoughtfully they handled the situation. I will definitely be coming back.

It's always nice to see a clean restaurant with happy workers and a menu that gives you calorie count and healthy options. The Riblet plate was delicious and I enjoyed a side of slaw that was different than what I've had before. Bravo.

I like the pick 2 for $25 deal. It’s a lot of food for a great bargain. If ordered separately, these items would be upwards of $45 or more. For before/after a workout, I like grabbing the chicken Parmesan x2 and the boneless buffalo wings. If I’m with family, I’ll opt for the sirloin. They always cook the food really well and it comes out steaming. My wife loves visiting for happy hour; she loves the holiday cocktails they rotate. With a bunch of kids, this is the go-to place to feed them all for a good price. I also like how the dining room has started the same pretty much for the last several decades. Kind of has a nostalgic feel. Definitely makes dining enjoyable. Big screens at the bar center room that can be seen from almost any booth, too easy to catch a game or a fight and avoid the crowds at other places.

Update. My husband and I went back on July 9, 2025 and talked to a manager about what happened on June 12, 2025. The manager apologized for the service we had received on our previous visit and said he would personally make sure we received better service that time. We did have our normal excellent service on July 9 and the manager we talked to told us that our server had told him we were regulars there. One of the other managers even recognized me and said hi when I was returning to the table from using the restroom. She also apologized for the service we had on June 12 and said she was glad our service was much better on July 9. _______________________________________________________________ My husband and I have dined at the Applebee's in Oceanside quite a few times and while we normally get excellent service there, our experience when we went there yesterday (June 12, 2025) is why I'm only giving them 3 stars. When we first ordered our food, everything seemed like it was going as it usually does including us asking for extra napkins, but that was when the service stopped being our normal experience. Other than bringing our food to us when it came out, nobody came back to our table until what seemed like at least 5 minutes after I pressed the call server button on the kiosk so I could ask for a refill on my water and the extra napkins that we had asked for (we had waited a bit before pressing the call server button), but never came. We were told by the server that she would get those for us, but did not come back to the table again until she saw us paying the bill on the kiosk. At that point, the server came back, apologized (which seemed like a half hearted apology), and without asking if we wanted them, she said she would bring us to go cups for our drinks (I keep bottled water in my car - because I do nature photography and some delivery apps so I need to stay hydrated when doing those - so I didn't need a to go cup for water). On the drive home, my husband said his fries had been lukewarm. We don't expect the servers to come over and have full on conversations with the customers (although we don't mind when they do), but we should not need to press the call server button and wait quite a while to ask for a refill of water that never comes.

The food is good. We got steaks. I ordered medium well but got more well done. I should have asked what medium well looked like. I am used to a little pink in the center. They aren't a steakhouse so I shouldn't be too upset. The food could use a bit more seasoning.

While this is a nice place inside and the wait staff is polite and helpful, the food quality has deteriorated significantly. We had to send our sirloin steak dinners back twice last night: first time, because the mashed potatoes were lukewarm when the dinners were served, and the second time because the steaks, which we ordered to be rare, were cooked medium. That really takes away from our enjoyment. We won't be going back anymore. It's too bad, because we used to like coming here.

Came to check out this location as I work at one in Wisconsin. The gentleman that seated us, Dorian I believe, (apologies for misspelling) was the first person to even acknowledge us in the few minutes we were standing by the door, after the GM, Courtney gave us a dirty look and walked back into the kitchen. It seemed as though he was wrapping up his shift, though still had the respect and decency to assist guests when he really didn't need to. Much respect to that! Our server, John, was very attentive and absolutely wonderful! He was very efficient and accurate while assisting guests in his section as well as guests at the Bar. Very kind and helpful! I definitely appreciated that everyone was helping each other. No arguments, or eye rolls. The Front of House employees were very collaborative and friendly to guests and each other. We ordered Mozzarella sticks and they were a bit chewy. We got 2 steaks, one 12oz and one Shrimp Parm. The steaks were ever so slightly overcooked from the Medium Rare we asked for, but we personally were okay with that! Just a heads up in case others are not! The mashed potatoes were hot and delicious, as was the Broccoli! Overall a good experience, but would love to see more hands-on assistance from management!

Overall, the food is decent but a bit too pricey, in my opinion. I ordered the blackened salmon with two sides, it's alright. The popping rocky shirley temple was really fun to drink though, definitely recommend that drink! The indoor ambiance is pretty cool and comfortably accommodated my party of 7 at a long table.

My husband and I went on a Friday night and it was like any other Applebees but not busy. We were seated right away by a friendly hostess, but the other waitstaff weren’t very friendly when taking our orders and checking on us. Our waitress seemed annoyed quite a bit. On the bright side, the food was delicious. We shared chicken wonton tacos as an appetizer and got a couple rounds of their specialty holiday drinks, then our main courses came. I got a bourbon chicken plate with mashed potatoes and my husband got chicken and shrimp alfredo and then we shared a “multiple pours” margarita. For the amount of drinks and food we got, it was worth it with the bill under a hundred dollars. Like I said, it was like any other Applebees but there wasn’t blaring music and a lot of people, just the warm low-key vibes.

Stopped in about 1 pm for the $9.99 burger or chicken sandwich special. Seated promptly. Waiter was also the bar tender, which is never good. Took a while before he came over. The food, when it finally came, was hot, but pretty tasteless. The buns were entirely too small (this is where you choose to save a few cents?) and basically fell apart when picked up. Had to request napkins and silverware, which took a few minutes to get. There's were only a handful of patrons, so there was really no excuse for the delays. This was not the first time with slow service and below average food, but it will be the last.

Applebee's has good food and good variety. Their two for $ are nice but price has raised over the years. Not surprising but limits our dog to the restaurant. Only special reasons now. Service was slow and our waitress had a very large party to serve as well as other tables and there was only one other waitress. We got there at 12 noon for lunch and didn't leave till 2:30. We tried paying on the table app and it ended up with computers down and charged us twice abs then for our meal and someone else's meal at our table which they paid in cash after getting some bills reversed out when computers went down. They said to wait 24 hrs and the amount would be credited back to our card for our friends meals that they ended up paying for in cash with the mess it caused. Amount never got credited back to our card and after a phone call, they said they would look into it and call back and never did. So, advice is not to use the table tablet but pay the waitress and make sure it's correct. Two calls later and still no resolution for the $34+ meal that got paid for twice that day. Other than that, we enjoyed the food.

Check out these sorry nachos! Taco Bell is way better at 1/3 price. Really bummed that the chicken wings (bone in) are frozen!! I wanted to get them without the breading, which is not possible because 'they come that way'. Yuck

Got my order wrong but did compensate with adding the correct one free of charge, rice for my girlfriends plate was hard and undercooked, waiter gave me a bit of attitude for the small mix up. Had problems with charge still waiting to see if it goes through currently for a second one, did make a good margarita and waiter did still provide good customer service, food was up to par for the most part, menu is misleading a little needs to be updated and with pricing on everything accordingly, overall it was 50/50 cant complain but also cant be happy. They also seated people right next to us out of the completely open restaurant. Will definitely update review the next time im here.

The atmosphere when we walked in was very strange. The host was friendly. The food was mediocre. There are so many other amazing restaurants with better food quality, presentation and taste. Our server was nice but not attentive. She came to our table several times and never took a dirty plate off of our table. She didn’t really check on us. When we requested our check she handed is the tablet and again took no plates. We never come here but we decided to give it a try. Definitely our last visit. Sewage Smell! This place literally smelled like sewage when we walked inside!! On Friday 3/22/2024 Me, my wife and our friend walked through the doors and a very strong sewage smell hit us like a ton of bricks. We thought it would go away, but it did not. I went to this location after a lovely day at The Carlsbad Pumpkin Patch with my bf and I order their New Whole Lotta Bacon Burger I guess I should’ve taken the first red flag that it took about an hour for us to get our food but I didn’t think much of it. Food taste and price has gone downhill greatly. Chicken taste like rubber pressed chicken and they are not cooking their food thoroughly. Not going to continue going there.....

Upon entring the establishment one can't help but to notice really bad odor, smells like sewage, or like wet old molded carpet mixed with old food. Food was below average and service was even worse. Unfortunately can't say much positive or anything impressive, prime location but poorly ran business. Only 3 tables in the whole place but took 30+ minutes to get some wings and fries. Literally takes less than 2 minutes to drop both it into the basket and lower into oil and then pull out in 5-7 minutes. Easiest meal ever, everything comes pre-cut, pre-breaded, pre-frozen. This place is very poorly ran and very unhygienic. I'm just trying to understand how incompetent and lazy does one have to be to really pull down a business that low. Update as of 8/9/2024: As expected, the same generic and pointless reply just like to all other reviews. No copy&pasting here, you got the point which areas to improve upon.

NEVER GOING HERE AGAIN. I'd be low class and say WHO in particular ruined my time here, but she knows who she is. This place used to be a favorite. I used to go here all the time with my family. NOPE. We stopped going for a while now. I'd say this happened at least a year ago. If this could be right again, where hospitality is part of the service, maybe we'd come back. I was being polite but made a joke, but the bartender took it the wrong way. I understand how endless deals can be such a pain as a server since I worked at Red Lobster and know how intense endless shrimp can be. I told the bartender "I'm gonna be an asshole and order the endless meal." But she seemed to misinterpret my joke. I wasn't an asshole at all, just the fact that I ordered endless (given the context of being a server before doing endless). I asked for something, she put in the completely wrong item...ON PURPOSE. Every. Single. Time. Like what? If someone told me this at Red Lobster, and even if they weren't joking and were going to be an asshole to me, I would still be polite and cordial. It's my job to serve the guest. PERIOD. END OF STORY. I know I was only one person, so I understand that her tip would have been a couple bucks. I do my best to give at least 50% tip for when I dine alone. Sometimes I've thrown in a Jackson when I'm alone. (Thank you sir at Lab Collaborative). When I went in a second time, I brought in my husband. She was our food runner...surprise surprise. Our food kept coming out in weird ways...like a really small portion or something way off that was super noticeable. We still tipped the server really well since SHE was hospitable and excellent...NOT the bartending food runner. She was just so awful. SO AWFUL. Atmosphere is a 1 because of this terrible person who makes the ambiance a tragedy.

I stopped coming to this branch a while back because the quality of food and service had gone down. Decided to give them a chance again after a really long time. They didn’t have the ribeye steak available today even though it’s on the menu so I ordered chicken strips and part of my order was raw dough because the strips were stuck together and fried then served to me. I was done with my meal it was busy so by the time I showed the server that my chicken strips weren’t cooked I wasn’t hungry anymore. She proceeded to tell me it was the way the strips were fried and it wasn’t raw. Clearly the dough was not cooked so I took a picture of it for this review. She did offer to make me another strip but said I’d have to wait 10-15 minutes for it and we wanted to leave at that point. I was not offered anything else. I also did not ask for anything else I just paid the bill and left. It’s a little sad a restaurant would serve raw dough to the customer and then expect the customer to wait for them to fix the issue rather then trying to find a better solution. I won’t be coming here again.

We had to wait 10 minutes for a seat when half the restaurant was empty. The food had obviously been sitting a while in the back since the cheese on the dips came out congealed and the mozzarella sticks weren’t cooked through. The server tried but the cups were on the table empty quite often without refills. A customer was allowed to come in with a dog in a carrier that didn’t appear to be a service dog. Worst Applebee’s I’ve been to in a long time!

Came in on a slow Monday night, our meals came 40 minutes later before our entrees. The bartender slammed my margarita on the table said nothing and walked away. A table that came in after us was served before our table. Our server didn’t stop by unless it was to drop off food, not to check up on us.

Ask host to sit in bar, he said sure. Took a seat in a booth in side bar area ,the bar tender told us we couldn't sit there because they were reserved. At that time there was one group in front of us ,4 clean empty booth tables in bar area. The host told they save the bar booths for party's of 5, even though there other booths with 3 or less. The host took us to another booth witch was next to a cold vent moved to warmer booth over looking bar area still 3 empty booths halfway through dinner the host sat a party of 3 in same booths in bar still 2 empty booths when we left. Talk to the manager John nice enough not sure he understood are frustration at first ,the waiter was great ,the bill was around $50 ,felt bad for waiter and gave him a $20 not his fault.

Showed up for dinner, waiting for few to be seated. Order was taken and then we waited over 45 minutes for our food to come out. Waitress did not leave us napkins, utensils and never updated us on why our food was taking so long. Food was mediocre to say the least. Needless to say we will never be back to Applebees. With so many great options in Oceanside why even come here

Absolutely terrible. From management to floor staff, top to bottom, absolutely unprofessional. Half an hour for fried food served cold, rude staff. Would never ever go back. Better off at McDonald's.

Tried ordering the 2 for 25 over the phone while looking at the menu online. We told the woman over the phone what we wanted, after confirming that the two entrees we wanted were part of the 2 for 25 deal and a shark bowl drink that was priced at 8 dollars on their menu, just to be informed that the two meals we chose had upcharges (one was an extra 4, and the other was an extra 5) and the drink was axrually almost 10 dollars and our whole order added up to 62 dollars somehow. When we asked for clarification on why the prices online were one thing, and prices in person were another, we were told that it wasn't part of the 2 for 25 menu, and that it was actually part of a different deal. We tried asking why the options we picked were under the 2 for 25 menu if they wouldn't add up to 2 for 25, she couldn't give us an answer. At the end we decided not to eat here, and probably won't for a while, since their prices and their advertisements do not coincide with each other, and they are scamming people with false advertisements.

Im usually not a complainer but this was a new low. Ate with my family. We seen our server once. That’s it. Other people brought our food, and drinks. The sizes were super small, the picture do not show the true sizes. It was my husband birthday and I wish we went somewhere else cause it was just overall bad food, bad vibes and not so good drinks.

I usually always go here and I always get my usual; 2 for 25 the bourbon chicken and shrimp , the whiskey burger , and macaroni and cheese for my kids. Sides are always an appetizer and the two salad options they give. Order was supposed to be done 7:18 we did not receive the food till 7:50 . I was on the phone with someone named “Tyler” could barely understand and hear him, said our order was going to be 10 more minutes, so we went to Walmart and one thing we needed to get then waited, called and they said all it had to do was be bagged and they would be right out. Waited till 7:27 and then my husband went inside because our child was crying from waiting and see if they were having trouble or to see if something was wrong. Husband got the food at 7:40 something around there and I noticed they forgot my food and my sons apple juice so I go storming inside , at this point I’m very upset because I am pregnant sick to my stomach waiting for this food and my daughter is screaming her head off. I went in all hot and said we’ve been waiting for 30 minutes you said my food was ready and then on top of it you forget my meal. Got home and realized they burnt my chicken to the point it was inedible hard and burnt. They forgot both dressings to my salad anddd they forgot my husbands side which paid an extra 2 dollars for. It might not sound like a lot to some but we paid 60 bucks. Beyond disappointed with the employees, I don’t know if they are newly hired but they definitely need to get reinterviewed . They seemed like they’ve never worked there a day in there life and it was complete chaos.my husband also pointed out that one of the workers , don’t want to say who because he might need the job but you sir were under the influence for sure.
