Absolutely fantastic place. I couldn't find a complaint about this place if I wanted to. I only pictured two dishes, but also got the baba ghanouge and the flaming cheese saganaki. Pictured are the steamed mussels and clams with the gyro. All the food was made perfectly and tasted fantastic. If getting the gyro I would recommend asking for more tzatziki sauce inside the wrap. (If you really like tzatziki sauce) There are a lot of dishes with bread and it's easy to fill up early, so pace yourself and expect to leave full and satisfied. The staff are some of the most friendly and attentive people I have ever met. It's seems as everyone is your server with kind each staff member is. At night there is a brief live performance at certain times with an amazing voice. The location is perfect. In the center of the town only 4 blocks away from the ocean and a very well known golf course. Weather it's dining inside taking your food to go, there is plenty of atmosphere all over this town.
We were heading up the coast and looking for a place for lunch and stumbled upon Dametra. We had a great lunch, starting with the baba ganoush and then shared a Greek salad with chicken. Everything was delicious and the service was great.
We tried a few dishes here and really enjoyed the food. The lamb shank was tender and flavorful, served with nicely seasoned rice and vegetables, and the eggplant dip was creamy and comforting. The environment was very cozy and welcoming, which we loved. However, the waiting time was quite long—possibly because they were catering to larger parties, as we were just two people. Overall, a good experience with great food and atmosphere, but be prepared to wait.
From our entire NorCal trip, Dametra Cafe has been the most fun place we discovered. We were walking around town after dinner when we heard music and saw people dancing through the restaurant window. We ended up going in and grabbing seats at the bar. Amir was so friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. I had the hardest time choosing a mocktail because I truly wanted to try them all. Even though we had already eaten dinner, we still had to enjoy a little taste of their Mediterranean food. Once the music started, everyone got up to dance. The singer has such a beautiful voice. The vibe in this place is unmatched. If we make this trip again, we are absolutely coming here for dinner.
This place is so authentic and mouthwatering delicious! After viewing the beautiful ocean in Carmel we stopped for a bite to eat and I was so pleasantly surprised at the flavors and options available here. My mother in law ordered the lasagna- probably my favorite thing from here- the tomato sauce was a little sweet and seasoned to perfection. My husband had the paella which burst with flavor from the mussels, shrimp, and oysters, sausage and chicken and I had the halibut with a great crust on it. The bread and oil was delicious and our service was outstanding! They had a love singer/musician whose performance was top tier! Thoroughly enjoyed this experience!
We dropped in for lunch today and sat at the bar toward the back to enjoy the view of the colorful decor. We shared the delicious Greek Salad and the Vegetable sandwich. Both were generous & flavorful! We did not order dessert but they gave us their baklava that was to die for! We highly recommend you try it yourself and don't forget the Baklava!
Everything was delicious, well-cooked, and the portions were generous for the price! The Hummus Combination was excellent — especially the Baba Ghanoush, which is different from what I had before and it’s really outstanding, creamy but still have texture, I loved. The Lamb Shank was perfectly tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Overall, a great meal with amazing value and authentic flavors
Everything we ordered was so good! • Damascus Labneh Cheese – Homemade labneh with za’atar pita, olives, and tomato wedges. Excellent — I could’ve made a whole meal out of just this dish. • Dametra Insalate – Fresh greens with apple, walnuts, Gorgonzola, and grilled chicken. The fig balsamic dressing was amazing. • Grilled Jumbo Prawns – Cooked perfectly and full of flavor with olive oil, lemon, garlic, and parsley. • Greek Chicken Kebab – Juicy, tender chicken skewers with garlic lemon aioli over rice and a Greek salad. • Dametra Paella – Generous portion packed with seafood, chicken, and sausage. So flavorful! The food, service, and atmosphere were all great. Such a fun and cozy spot — definitely worth a visit when in Carmel!
We walked in without a reservation and we were seated immediately. If all they served was their hot fresh bread, I would have still been in heaven! Absolutely delicious, rich, flavorful food. Order everything and stay for the entertainment. Can't wait to go back with a bigger appetite.
I recently visited Dametra Cafe and had an amazing experience. The atmosphere is warm, lively, and welcoming, making you feel at home right away. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, always making sure everything is perfect. The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavor and beautifully presented. I especially enjoyed the Mediterranean dishes, which tasted fresh and authentic. The live music and entertainment created such a fun and unique vibe. Overall, this is a place I would happily come back to and highly recommend to anyone visiting Carmel.
I can’t even describe how amazing this place is! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, lively, and welcoming. The staff, especially Eshak made us feel like family, and the energy of the restaurant is just incredible. The food… absolutely out of this world 🤩. Everything is so fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The Greek salad with warm pita was perfection — crisp veggies, creamy feta, and the most delicious dressing. Pair it with a glass of wine, and you’ll be in heaven. This is hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. If you’re in Carmel, Dametra Café is a MUST - not just for the food, but for the unforgettable vibe and hospitality.
All around excellent experience and will be back again. The food- excellent. Just wanted to get that out first. Big platters of fresh delicious food. We got the combo platter and I was stuffed at the end of it. Highly recommend. The service was top notch as well. The servers were very nice and accommodating and really made sure you you were taken care of. The atmosphere of the place was so fun and exciting! They have live music which was actually pretty good, but it also kept the vibes chill and light. Overall it was a great time. Oh and the dessert was so good. This restaurant is a must visit.
Fairly speaking…. If I could put 6 stars, I would never hesitate!!!! Amazing restaurant, lovely staff and great owner!!! The place was super clean, the food was excellent ( tasty and generous) and the ambiance was like you were exactly living Lebanese night in Beirut!!! If you are in Carmel…. This charming Greek restaurant offers authentic flavours and an incredibly attentive staff. However, when we tried to book a table, we were informed that they don’t take reservations and only accept walk-ins. So, we decided to return when we were hungry. Unfortunately, upon our second visit, they informed us that we needed to make a reservation and the wait time was around 45 minutes. This was a major disappointment. Despite the wait, the restaurant’s lively atmosphere, complete with live music and dancing, made it worth the wait. Once seated, our service was prompt. After receiving our dishes, we discovered that they contained beef. Since I don’t eat beef, I expressed my concern, and the staff promptly replaced the beef with extra chicken without any complaint. Overall, I recommend this place to anyone in Carmel. The ambiance, the food, and everything else is simply delightful.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Dametra Café is truly a gem! From the moment we walked in, we felt the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff treated us like family, always smiling and making sure we had everything we needed. The food was outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every dish we tried was perfectly seasoned and full of authentic Mediterranean taste. The portions were generous, and you could tell everything was made with care and passion. What makes Dametra Café even more special is the lively and joyful vibe. The music, the friendly conversations, and the energy in the room made our meal feel like a celebration. If you’re in the area, this is a must-visit spot. Delicious food, great service, and unforgettable atmosphere—I can’t wait to come back!
We came here for dinner around 5pm or so. Was able to find street parking down the street for two hours, which gave us plenty of time to order and eat, given that when we went there was no wait time.…
Very good location so parking is going to be a challenge. I was happy with the chicken gyro I ordered - portions are huge. The baklava was good and not too sweet.
The food was good and the entertainment was a lot of fun. \nAt some point everyone left their tables and with live music all were dancing

I tried the clam chowder for the first time, and it was pretty decent, flavorful and enjoyable. I also had the Shrimp and Crab Ravioli, Lamb Shish Kebab; the taste was good, but not worth the price. If you want to try multiple places, you can stop by, but otherwise I wouldn’t really recommend it. The prices are just too high. We ordered three dishes, and the bill came out to around $120.

I ordered some clam chowder after traveling all day. There was a hair in it (it wasn't mine) . Enough said
The food was excellent and we truly enjoyed the quality of the dishes. Unfortunately, the service was a completely different story. The waiter wearing the black sweater was extremely rude — truly one of the rudest interactions we have experienced in a restaurant. In general, several of the staff members seemed to give customers unpleasant looks, almost as if trying to pressure guests into leaving an overly generous tip rather than accepting feedback that reflects the level of service received.
