Delicious food. Very clean. Chicken cutlets are absolutely phenomenal. I don’t eat mac and cheese anywhere else but when I come to this deli I always get some and it is amazing as well. Can’t say good enough things about this place.

Great deli. We had them cater an office luncheon and everything was delicious with a beautiful presentation. We ordered 5 heroes that they cut into 4’s and served on a platter. They delivered to us at Stony Brook University and were perfectly on time. Everyone enjoyed the food. Will definitely be going back.

I love Pumpernickels’! The food is always fresh, creative sandwiches on a variety of homemade bread. The staff is very polite and friendly, as if they really want to earn your business. They work hard to make their store warm and welcoming. I pass by two other deli’s’ that are closer to my house, to get to Pumpernickel’s. Excellent tuna salad on rye! Ron

Amazing deli, always so fresh! Highly recommend the Caesar salad. They make their own homemade dressing and I have never had such a delicious Caesar. I am addicted. Amazing staff also that knows everyone by name.

Old fashioned deli, homey and friendly atmosphere. Had their chicken cutlet Parmigiano hero on toasted garlic hero.. yum! yum! . Chicken was tender and flavorful. The hero was so big i ate half one day and had the second for lunch the next day. Highly recommend, you won't be disappointed.

This is THE spot! I do work at the University near by and the highlight of the trip is always the food here! This place is always clean and the staff are so friendly! Portions are huge and the price is unbeatable! I wouldn't know what to do without being able to go grab a sandwich here when I'm in town! Alot of days I eat there twice a day! Everything is fresh and top quality. I cannot say enough good things about the place!

I travel 8 miles for BLT's passing over a half dozen places that are closer... pumpernickels perfected what bacon should taste like and how it is cooked....rare amongst the masses....I have had many other sandwiches as well.... the place is just very very good

What a delightful little local deli! We were visiting from out of town and filled up on all types of New York staples - Drake's cakes, Wise potato chips, pumpernickel bread, all the staples that make New York iconic for certain foods. The staff was very helpful and it was overall a great experience

This place is like REALLY REALLY like hitting the JACKPOT of food and service, from the staff, the food, prices and I could just go on and on. I have them do all of my catering that I send up to the State Veterans Home, where my brother resides. The choices here are endless and when I tell you that the staffing is FANTASTIC, I absolutely mean it. How lucky am I to have found this place

I love coming here. I work in Port Jeff and it's a decent drive to go in the middle of work to pick up lunch. I ended up picking up a larger order than I normally do this week and a sandwich was forgotten. I called and they said there was nothing they could do. However, they quickly called me back saying they do not deliver, but they went out of their way to come drop off the missing sandwich. It was extremely appreciated. We don't see good service and good people often, but this place had excellent service. I truly appreciated the delivery. - A very satisfied and appreciative healthcare worker!

Pumpernickels Deli is an absolute gem—a small, cute spot that’s impressively clean with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff, mostly younger folks, are delightful, efficient, and incredibly organized. They’re also so sweet when answering questions, making the experience feel personal and inviting. On this visit, I ordered a simple bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich, and it was perfect. Sometimes it’s the basics that say the most, and Pumpernickels delivered. I’m also seriously considering trying their catering next because everything I saw looked so fresh, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared. This place easily outshines Bagel Express down the street. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend stopping by—you won’t be disappointed!

A very nice local Deli where you can be guaranteed to get a good egg sandwich or sandwich for lunch every time. Staff is courteous and polite & everything in there is fresh made. Their pricing is very reasonable too. They won't break the bank to go in there for lunch.

Ordered a chicken sandwich from DoorDash I got zero condiments....just Kaiser roll with chicken on it no condiments nothing in the bag. when I called. I was told that I needed to order that through DoorDash. There's no option on the DoorDash menu that says mayo and all it says is extra lettuce extra whatever. (See screenshot) ... The chicken itself was pretty good roll so that's why I even gave any stars but with zero condiments, I didn't enjoy my $10 sandwich ... I would suggest updating the website or adding condiments on the side in the bag...
