What a great surprise! We really enjoyed our time. The bar area is very inviting. Our server, Jana, was amazing!! We felt so well- taken care of! Seasonal cocktails were very original. Try the caramel mule! Looked so good that we started eating and forgot to take pictures! Mozzarella sticks were not only homemade, but huge and perfectly crisped!
Fantastic food friendly bartenders and a real warm atmosphere. And as far as price you get more for your money at the bench. Best wings on Long Island
Diverse menu, delicious food, outstanding beer and cocktail selection and fun atmosphere! Great spot, with or without the family! Highly recommend!
No better spot to grab a drink with a friend or have dinner with the fam! Great selection of beer and liquor, with a bunch of TVs to watch your favorite sports! (Try the chambo wings they are incredible)
Great fries, good food for adults, kids pizza wad lacking. Service was better than average.
Marius has taken a bad situation and made the best of it. Good on you, kind sir. Atmosphere is good and the staff are friendly and trying their best through this crazy time. Prices are good as well. Highly recommended!!!
The Service was excellent and the staff was amazing. They always a great meal.
Attended a private party. Food was great and service was awesome. Had a great time!
My first time there for an event. The atmosphere was great, the staff was awesome and food was amazing . I definitely recommend The Bench for a date night or a get together with friends and family.
If you are a mozzarella stick connoisseur like myself, this is the place for you. I have had many sticks of mozz in my life, but nothing comes close to the bench sticks. At this point when I go, I get two orders to eat there and then one to go for the car ride home.
The Bench is a great place to go and eat with family and friends. Welcoming atmosphere and very generous owner who donates to many of The Three Village community activities and families,
Vannessa was the best. From start to end she was there to help me and make sure I was happy and satisfied with everything. Will 100% be back, for all future diners, ask for Vannesa she will take care of you!
Relaxing atmosphere and great food. The burgers and sandwiches are filling and delicious. Steak tidbits are highly recommended. Friendly staff with helpful suggestions. Great place to watch a game or night out with the family.
This place is legendary! I walked in the back entrance and was immediately greeted by a nice man sitting at the table on the left. He warmly stated to "watch my step" as there is a small stair leading to the bar area and one can easily stumble if not prepared. I thanked him and he returned to sipping his beer and gin and tonic. I got a table at the bar and there was a table to my right which seemed to be full of friends/regulars. One person (who I assumed was the leader) had the nicest set of white hair I have ever seen - and was furiously logging notes into his laptop. I was sheepishly jealous of his dome. Another gentleman, who had the exotic look of being Caribbean, kept trying to get $50 from an older German fellow, and it all seemed to be in good fun. The bartenders were profoundly nice and very attentive. I started with an ice cold adult beverage and they even asked if I wanted a glass. Really hit the spot. Then an obnoxiously loud phone rang out from the table on my right. A handsome fellow, with a back like a bulldozer, answered with a loud "WHAT?", and then proceeded to speak Cantonese. The others at the table found this funny. For a minute I thought that the dwarf actor Billy Barty was also there at the table, but it turned it he was just a short bald guy whom everyone seemed to jest with. I got hungry and I ordered from the "specials menu" - a menu that changes every month. The food came out amazingly fast considering how busy the place was. My meal was to die for. Everything came out perfect. I asked the bartender for another drink, but my words were drowned out by an extremely loud Italian guy who just showed up and was quoting Rocky Balboa. However, I just looked at the bartender and no words needed to be said. My glass was full in an instant. That's great service. I will definitely be coming back!!!!
I had my 30th birthday party here as well as my surprise baby shower, both in our own private space. I’ve catered with their food (including subs!) for multiple occasions and can’t say enough how great it is every time! If you want a relaxing dinner experience in the dining room, a cold drink in the bar and catch a game, or just a chill time outside on the patio with some live music, this a MUST go-to!
The brews cold, the staff warm, the laughs, quite a few of the belly kind. Stopped in with three buddies after a morning tee time & had great time. On my own, I rarely miss a chance to pop in for a beer & a bite when I'm in the area. This day two of the foursome had never been, easy decision for the 19th hole. Admittedly, two decades ago, first visit, I would've never imagined, appreciated, (at times remembered) or been deserving of the place as spiffed up as it is now. Great memories though. They did a really nice job incorporating upgrades while keeping that "Place where everybody knows your name" hometown feel! Be back next time we're swinging sticks that way or heading to the pond! Cheers
My favorite Happy Hour place. 😀🍻 I meet my coworkers there almost every Friday. I love that there is always a specials menu to try new things. Although I always have the Bench Mac to fall back on. Yum! I love going there for Musingo on Tuesdays, the themed trivia nights, and to watch sports.
The bench is our guilty pleasure. We come here for date night, with the family and I've hosted networking events here. The food is always excellent and the service is great. We're OBSESSED. Best place in Three Village!
Last night was my first visit here, and I will be back! Came with a large group and the owners accommodated us quickly and made sure we had everything we needed. Food was great, the service was first class! Update: coming here regularly now, the perfect place to hang out with friends, enjoy delicious food and a wide variety of beverages handled by a great team of servers!
The Poutine is freaking amazing, the salt & vinegar fries are amazing, wings are great. To the guy crying about them closing early and the only place in town, really it’s Stowe Vermont, there are 100 restaurants in town. This place is awesome. The beer menu is massive, the staff is excellent and the menu has a wide range. Something for everyone!!! You will not be disappointed!!!
The food was really good, 1st time there, and would definitely go back. Waitress could have been a little more attentive. It wasn't that busy, and when my water was done, it took so long for her to come back that I had to go to the bar and ask bartender to refill.
The Bench is Beautiful and warm! It’s a great book for children, teens and adults. Great ode to Fathers and their relationship with their children. In a world with so many absentee fathers, it is beautiful & poignant to celebrate and showcase healthy relationships between fathers and their sons. The illustrations are absolutely gorgeous. The diversity is not only celebrated it is sincerely welcomed and needed. I love this book so much!!!! Well done!!!
Called up 30 minutes before and they were able to give us a table right away when we arrived. We were seated right away. Our server carter was extremely nice and professional. The food was delicious. Would definitely recommend to friends. 10/10.
We held my daughters 21st Birthday party here last week and from the moment I worked with Josh via phone to the end of the party it was an amazing experience! The food, service and private room were all top notch. I highly recommend you consider The Bench for any future parties, fundraisers etc!!
Great apps, great service, great atmosphere! My first time in. I was part of a mid-sized group trying chicken quesadillas, barbecue wings, mini empanadas, mozzarella sticks, and sliders. All of them delicious 😋. Good selection on tap. Highly recommend The Bench! We'll be back! 10.6.22 update - still great. Try the Giant pretzel, or better yet, the mozzarella sticks!
Exceptional service by exceptionally good looking people (I think her name was Yanni). Come for the food stay for the snacks you know what I mean? Family friendly. Craft beer. Outdoor seating. Shows all the games.
The Bench is not what it was! It didn't smell like stale beer at all. The floor wasn't sticky. We had a good sized group in the front room and the food and service were both great.
Love the renovations, but place looks great. Menu has continued to expand with new items (ie lobster rolls, which is amazing) and the wings never disappoint. Great beer selection and the service is always top notch.
Went Thursday evening. Great staff. The owner Marios even came out to talk to us to make sure everyone was having a good time and satisfied. Served a group of about 14 guys. His staff seemed to really enjoy working for him. Food was good and well prepared and everything else I saw coming out the kitchen loooked great. Everything was clean. looked like a great place for a private party. I know a lot of people are looking theses days for intimate spaces to host 25-40 people privately. This place was spacial enough to host 25-40 people private party with no problems and still have plenty of space for customers and still feel like yiu have a private place.
Always good. Good staff. Good people. I highly recommend. The bench is a staple in the community.
Hip, locals joint - varied menu/something for everyone - live music…an interesting ‘fusion’ of Doo-Wop, Country and old Hippie tunes that seems to play well with the mix of locals and college students you’ll find here. Great panini sandwiches.
Great local spot. I went for the first time last night , haven’t been there in 10 years. The new renovations look great, food was excellent , fair prices and great service. Will definitely be back, glad it’s so close to me!
I generally go for lunch and haven’t had a bad meal or mixed drink , the service is quick and the barmaid KJ is lively and keeps up with the patrons even when it gets busy . She makes a point to greet everyone and somehow manages to remember what you drink and is always smiling . I only wish I lived closer to this place . Give it a try yo won’t regret it .
Thank you so much to The Bench for an amazing experience celebrating my son’s First Holy Communion. We had 42 adults and 11 kids. The party was in the back room, which has a private bar area. The food was exceptional. The service was even better! Helena and Jess were so attentive to my guests and I appreciate everything they did to make the party a success!
Had my daughter communion party here a few weeks ago. Everything was amazing the food, the staff. Everyone at the party was talking about how great the food was. And the host of my party was excellent she was amazing and great with the kids. I wish I could remember her name to give her a special shout out. But Nancy who helped me plan the party is excellent too so friendly and easy to work with. Nancy and the staff and the Bench are amazing and awesome and give the best service next time I am have a party I will definitely call them. The food was so good me and the husband are planing a date night there. Thanks again to the Bench.
1st time there this Saturday, went with a group of 8 and had a 30 minute wait. They have a nice area out back where you can have a drink while you wait if you don't want to wait at the bar. Dining area was very clean and looked nice, seating was comfortable. Ordered ever appetizer and it was all delicious especially the meatballs and the shrimp. Menu has something for everyone, 8 people ordered 7 different meals and everyone left happy and full. Staff was amazing, friendly and attentive without being overly present especially our waitress Sydney. At around 11pm the place started to clear out and by 12 we were the only ones there playing games outside while having 1 last drink. Price was far less than we expected at the end of a night of moderate drinking and over eating. I was the designated driver so I can't comment on the quality of the drinks but my friends were very happy at the end of the night.
My family and I love going to eat at The Bench. The family friendly atmosphere is fantastic for my two children who can’t always sit still. The service is fast, food is delicious and the servers are very attentive. We have done some of their special events for kids and they have gone above and beyond by bringing In characters. The Bench really loves to help out the community, small businesses by going above and beyond for everyone. I will hands down continue to go there to support them and of course eat delicious food!!!
Easy to access location with a separated dining area for family and bar area for 21 and over crowd. Wait staff was attentive and quick. Food was not only prepared perfectly, but the staff was quick to deliver additional add on's that I requested when the food was delivered. Waitress was quick with drinks and check when asked. Overall experience A+
I've been to The Bench twice in the last few weeks and I have to say I love the place. The place has a very cool family vibe to it. It's a great place to grab a bite, drinks and enjoy watching sports. They have live music on Thursday nights as well. The food is AMAZING. The staff is super friendly. I think I found my go to spot. It's refreshing when you can go to a restaurant multiple times and the quality and service is consistent. My last time there I had the pleasure in meeting one of the owners and I totally get why this place operates so well. They really take pride in their restaurant, their staff and the quality they deliver. Thanks again for a great experience guys - will be back soon.
we had our sons first birthday party here this weekend and just wanted to write how wonderful our experience was. the staff was friendly, attentive & helpful. the food was delicious. it was perfect spot for our party!
I make weekly trips here. The bartenders are usually Jessica, Ashlynn, Courtney or Katy, occasionally John. They all take the time to make personal conversation and they're all great at their jobs! Alex that works there is awesome, too! That is one hard working man! The food is really good. I'm very picky and there are a ton of options. They always have sports on at the bar, fun events like music bingo, outdoor dining on the back patio, they have a private room to host parties. The manager Pat offers great party packages and is very accommodating. Totally a family friendly atmosphere too. This is one of my favorite places to go.
The Bench is our go-to spot for my wife and I. Their food is always on point and their staff/management are extremely accommodating and pleasant. We go quite frequently with our daughter who is just a year old. Everyone that works there seems to just naturally go above and beyond. We’ve also used them to host our bridal and baby showers and have attended events in their private room. If you’re looking for great food, a wide beer selection, and a family friendly spot then I’d steer you right to the Bench.
Halyna was incredible with our party of 8! Super accommodating to special requests, on top of our drink orders, and overall just went above and beyond. She deserves a raise! Super grateful for her in making our night so seamless.
We take the family here after lacrosse, baseball, and hockey games. The staff is always accommodating of a big group. Our servers have always been warm and friendly with the kids. My kids love the grilled cheese here, it’s huge. The wings and burgers are great
Great food. Everything taste very fresh. Plenty of food to share. You can’t beat the lunch specials with their prices and good variety. Friendly staff and nice casual atmosphere.
Love the Bench in Stony Brook! Great food, great beers on tap and a great staff. I’ve been visiting for years now and I haven’t been disappointed. Sandwiches are always on point, mozzarella sticks are killer and the wings hit the spot every time!
We have hosted and attended many events at the Bench recently. A++ service and pricing. Very welcoming atmosphere. Great outdoor area for warmer weather. The bartenders and servers are so personable and make you feel like it's you "place". Highly recommend this restaurant for date night or a gathering of friends. They have a private area to host business meetings, fundraisers or parties. In the main bar area you can watch sports on their many tvs. Beer, cocktails, wine, bar food, Cornhole... You will definitely enjoy your experience there.
A Local Gem with Terrific Service and Must-Try Mozzarella Sticks! The Bench in Stony Brook is truly a five-star experience and a must-visit spot on Long Island. From the moment we were seated, the experience was elevated by the terrific service. Our server was attentive, friendly, and truly went above and beyond to make sure our meal was perfect. It’s clear the staff here takes pride in their work, making the atmosphere warm and welcoming. Now, let's talk about the food, specifically the legendary delicious mozzarella sticks. They are hands-down the best I've ever had—perfectly crispy, savory, and oozing with cheese. They are a mandatory appetizer! We also enjoyed several of their main dishes, which were equally well-executed. Whether you're looking for a great place to watch a game or just a satisfying meal with genuinely kind service, The Bench delivers. We can’t wait to come back!
The fun people at the Bench talked my son into trying the Philly cheese steak even though they did not want peppers, and of course he loved it because it was yummy! Thank you!
This is a cute little bar restaurant scene typical of the old school, North Shore Allwood, colonial Feel with friendly faces, and eclectic crowd, cold beer with a great selection of drinks. The food has a large menu from the simplest of a bread, pretzel with dip to hamburgers and steaksa young friendly crowd with a great vibe if you ever wanna get away and have a little fun and listen to some music. This is your place.
I recently hosted my baby shower at this restaurant, and I can’t recommend it enough! From start to finish, the experience was absolutely wonderful. Jessica, who coordinated everything for us, was outstanding—so attentive, kind, and genuinely invested in making sure everything went smoothly. The entire staff went above and beyond to help my husband set up, doing far more than we expected. Their teamwork and professionalism were truly impressive. We chose the brunch menu, and the food was phenomenal. Throughout the event, Jessica checked in on me and my guests multiple times, making sure we had everything we needed. They even helped my party host organize and set up the games, which added such a personal touch to the celebration. After the party, the team helped clean up, which was such a huge relief and greatly appreciated. As someone who’s worked in the service industry for years, I recognize great service when I see it—and this team was great to us. The atmosphere was perfect for our celebration, warm and welcoming. If you're considering throwing a party here, don’t hesitate. It was the perfect place to celebrate such a special day.
Jana and Ashlynn were absolutely amazing! The service was top-tier from start to finish — friendly, fast, and just overall fun to be around. They made the whole experience feel effortless and personal. You can tell they genuinely care about the people they’re serving. If you’re lucky enough to have them behind the bar, you’re in good hands. Can’t recommend them enough!
One of our favorite date night spots! The staff is amazing especially Christina!! We absolutely love coming every Tuesday for bingo night as well! We also love that we can use our toast rewards to get a discount, whats better than that! The atmosphere is so adorable they decorate for every single holiday, though we are there every week and have never seen the manager he/she does keep the place looking amazing. Thank you to the kind servers who keep our date night away from the kiddos enjoyable! *update manager rich is just as amazing. Thank you to everyone ❤️
We just had our sons 1st birthday at The Bench and it was absolutely perfect! Upon arrival my husband & I were greeted by Pat, who was attentive to all our needs. Jessica & Arianna we’re phenomenal with helping us set up everything in such a short time since we were running late. The entire staff were committed to great service & extremely friendly, we were so lucky to have them on our sons special day. The food was delicious and well presented, we couldn’t have asked for a better restaurant to host our sons birthday party!
We went to the restaurant for a quick dinner before the Staller theatre performance of Sheléa. The food was very good . The location was noisy for a children’s party. When I paid the bill they gave us a 50$ gift card for the inconvenience. That’s was very unexpected and appreciated. So we came back one week later and we had the famous burgers. Exceptional! Thanks
Had my daughter’s christening party at The Bench 2 weeks ago. Fantastic job done by everyone! The food was delicious, and service top notch. They even catered to some of my guest’s dietary restrictions and provided something delicious for them to eat, as well! Definitely consider this place if you’re planning a party.
I stopped by for a quick drink while waiting for my kids. Seem to have a great happy hour with $4 drafts and a good bar food menu. Certainly a place to come back
Menu and food has gotten better since the change of management. Some new staff, trained well and fit right in...Plenty of space and supervision to ensure social distancing. Expect we will increase rating to 5 as soon as the interior is finished.
Love the atmosphere! The server is really nice. The food was really tasty. I ordered from the lunch menu and got the chicken pesto panini.... loved it!
Standard bar fare and environment. Local dive with an elevation dinning experience
Good food, professional service, nice atmosphere. I suggest this place. We went twice - a week apart between the first and the second time. In both occasions we had good food but the second time we had hamburgers and it was better than the first time.
Our bartender KJ is awesome! She is so friendly and very personable. Beers are ice cold and have a great selection. The people in the bar were bantering off each other. So funny!
The bartender was awesome. The food was ready at the time it was supposed to be and it tasted nice.
Great neighborhood restaurant. Feels like home. Great beer selection and awesome friendly service and so many food choices. Courtney was great. Even put a bottle of beer on ice for my mom in-law.
We often go there after work, six dollar appetizers are awesome. Good chicken fingers. The only reason I knock a star off is that the loud music gives me a migraine XD sometimes they blast the music loudly on the outdoor patio as well, so there's no relief. Also, stay away on late Thursday nights if you don't like noise and crowds. It becomes a club or something. If you like that sort of thing, then don't stay away I guess
A really nice retirement party was hosted for my cousin and I was happy to finally visit this popular watering hole that apparently everyone has been to but me haha. Bar drinks were good, nice pub atmosphere, but our appetizers were overcooked. Overall a nice afternoon with family.
The Bench has a lively, upbeat bar and pub vibe that’s perfect if you’re looking for energy and a good time. However, it’s worth noting that the crowd is predominantly college students, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. If that’s your scene, you’ll love the electric atmosphere, but if you’re looking for a quieter or more diverse crowd, this might not be your go-to spot. That said, the food is a highlight! Their burgers are fast, fresh, and flavorful, and the hot wings hit the spot every time. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or joining the college crowd for drinks, The Bench has its charm. Just keep in mind—it’s mostly a college bar, so plan accordingly!
I had been here twice now, both times, with a group of friends. I do not remember much from the first time, but the second time was enjoyable. I ordered the steak tidbit, which was delicious. There was a ton of flavor and the steak was soft and juicy too! A friend had suggested to order Pistachio Shots. If you ever go, and if they still sell it, definitely order it. You taste the pistachio more than the alcohol. Even more so, there is a subtle chocolate and mint taste too. The only issue I have is the noise level. This place is definitely for casual gathering. Although, I do wish it was a bit quieter. There are several entertainments on the TV screens, although they are all on a sport channel.
The service is awesome; extremely friendly and professional, but the food is pretty bad. If you stick with beers and something simple like mozzarella sticks or a pretzel though you should be set.
The atmosphere is that of a sports bar with your standard bar food and beers. The menu has some variety but it's nothing too experimental. Not a bad place for a quick beer and food but also nothing super unique.
Went to this establishment for the first time for an engagement party. Most of the staff was very kind and the food was pretty good. However, it was an open bar and at one point I was standing at the bar for 5 minutes with no bartender in sight.
Fun place to grab a beer and get some bar food. I wasn’t too impressed by their Buffalo Cauliflower (too soft, soggy) but our waiter was great and we had a good time overall.
Good before after stony brook games, live bands things like that, wings also good The place is the place to start before and after stony brook games, and that to me makes it a little bit if a missed step. Too many older people not enough collage kids, the beer is cold the food is good but yet I feel like they are not trying to get the kids in with like 50 cent wings or cheap beer night, they are fast and professional, no doubt but I guess it would be cool to make me feel old and I don't belong Beer is sold and wine with a full bar Also do some repairs duck tape is not always the answer
This place is nothing like the old park bench. It felt more family friendly and I don’t remember there being outdoor space. It’s a great location if you are waiting for the train. I watched the Monday Night Miracle here many years ago here and will never forget the Jets beating the Dolphins.
Ordered take out and was told it would be a hour to an hour and a half, but we never received a call that it was ready in 45 minutes. Luckily, we got there at an hour, but the food was completely cold when we got home. Why take our number if you’re not going to call if it’s ready early? Don’t skip the Chambo-style wings. Best around.
OUTRAGEOUS prices - it shouldn't be $60 for one person to have lunch. The quesadillas were fine - about as generic as every other place. The side salad was a few pieces of lettuce a couple of croutons squeezed onto the side of the plate with the quesadillas. The funnel cake fries or whatever they call them were good. I ordered the cheese cake sample platter to go and this is what they think is worth $12? 4 little dollops of cheese cake with some airy whipped cream that disappeared by the time it got home? The pieces were so small they could barely be called bite-sized. I could get a whole cheesecake pie with different flavors at the grocery store for the same price. Only after I came to write this review and check their site for what I got do I see they have a Prix Fix lunch menu which I wasn't given and would have used that instead. I get there's inflation and everyone's paying the cost and their supply end has increased - yadda yadda but this is a ridiculous amount to charge for such tiny portions - the quesadillas were "size" okay but the stuff inside was hardly anything, the salad was absolutely a waste of money for what you "get" (what a joke) and that sampler - that's just insulting. This is why less people are going out - it's one thing that we're paying more but when we're paying more and getting "meh" quality or gouged it's not worth it.
When the current management took over, the Bench was clean, good food and service. Over the next couple of years, the service got ridiculously bad. Additionally, it morphed back into the tinny bopper bar filled with underage college students drinking. At this point the bench seems to be headed back to the dump it was prior to the current owner. Sorry to see it.
Sat at 6:10, we had to ask about who our waiter was as no one had come to see us by 6:40. Food was good but we got out of there at 7:45 despite asking for a rush since we had an 8pm show to catch. Staff was only lightly apologetic Meh experience
Kitchen closes at 12??? But it’s 9:30. Given no explanation as to why it’s closed. I only wish this wasn’t the only show in town. There is a lack of leadership with the staff. There are only 2-3 professional wait staff and bartenders. If someone open a pub with 10% of the professionalism and determination to satisfy their customers..... the bench will be broken.
I would advise patrons to keep a check on their credit card charges and use cash to be safe. The bartenders says that minimum transaction is $20 no matter if its cash, debit or credit card but charges will starts to 'fluctuate'. I remember seeing female bartender continuously drink from the bar and pour free drinks for her friends but in order to compensate she ll charge your credit or debit card. I remember buying one gin & tonic for $7 but another bartender will charge for same drink for $15. This is not an isolated incident. It happened to me on 6 different occasions. The bartenders are money hungry and will fraudulently charge your cards for other people drinks. In order to avoid this incident, I started to close my tab immediately after it hit minimum $20 but bartenders have problems with this and they will rudely scream at you and stop serving drinks even if you reach $20 mark.
This place is absolutely horrible. I had to leave with a friend of mine who is Diabetic and needed an insulin shot and was refused re-entry due to.the fact that we didn't tell them we were leaving. As this was happening at least 5 people were let in without any identification. We had a medical bracelet as well as a port for insulin as proof for the bouncers and they still denied us.
Honestly very disappointed with this bar. They would not let anyone in past 10:30, and their excuse was that “their IDs were fake”. I am 23, and go this bar quite frequently. Tonight, they denied me and everyone else on line and there were a total of maybe 3 people in the entire place. SHOT. I do not recommend this place at night.
Took an hour to order to go food. Ordered antipasto salad- got a regular side salad with a few tomatoes and lettuce... ordered pasta no cheese, received manicotti or some other stuffed pasta w cheese. Absolutely no regard for allergies, complete health risk. Tried to call multiple times/ no answer- totally ignored. Just moved to area and definitely won’t be returning
Being a local resident, I've been to the bench several times. The sweet potato fries and burgers are good. On a recent visit, I ordered the teriyaki chicken salad wraps. I knew it wouldn't be the same as Cheesecake Factory and accepted that they wouldn't be as good. What I got was completely disgusting. Picture pulled chicken in lukewarm teriyaki soup in a lettuce bowl... Yeah disgusting! I could not get through one bite. When I told the waiter, not only did he not offer to get me something else but told me that the manager would not take it off the bill. Terrible terrible customer service. Buyer beware. You will pay for whatever you order even if your dog wouldn't eat it.
I understand why undergrads go here: because it’s cheapish, walking distance, and they don’t know any better. I went a couple of times to meet friends who chose it; the floor was always sticky, the service flaky, and the beer selection bad. Even Checkers is better and it looks like it’s in someone’s living room. Avoid.
I think this place doesn't welcome to people of color, or maybe just Asian. A bartender was very disrespectful and rude. I couldn't get any beers while other white people got it. The bartender told me it's closed ,but other white people still got their drinks, and it was at 12am. This is the first time I've experienced racism in the long island.
I had a terrible experience at this restaurant/ bar and I will not be coming back after the horrific experience I had. As soon as my party and I walk into the restaurant we were immediately harassed by a skinny, tall gentlemen wearing a green face masked and told that if we were not done eating by 10 he would, “personally kick us out.” Then after we sat done and ordered drinks the nice waitress asked if she can bring our id’s to the bar to be checked. The aggressive man came back with all of our id’s threw them on the table and said “pick up ur id’s” everyone grabbed their id’s and were putting them away and he screamed at us AGAIN and said “i didn’t check them yet!” He then thoroughly examined our id’s and made me show another form of identification and yelled AGAIN that he needed a picture of, which i provided. He then checked another girls id at the table and refused to serve her (even though she was 21) because it wasn’t as new as someone else’s at the tables, and he also said “how are you guys friends you’re all different ages” as if it is not normal for anyone to be friends with people that are not your age. The waitress’ came over to us apologizing multiple times for his actions. He was rude and should not be working in the food industry and should seriously be taken out of that restaurant because many costumers were appalled by his demeanor and also said they would not be eating at this establishment again. I believe the staff needs to learn how to treat costumers and people in general. very disappointed.
Had an incredibly negative experience where the manager resorted to unprompted name calling and cursing at the entire table for suspicion of ID fraud even though literally everyone was legally over 21 and had multiple forms of valid ID present. Didn’t catch the manager’s name, but I was absolutely appalled by her conduct. I’ve had bad customer service experiences but this was by far the worst.
Used to be a staple bar for the stony Brook area, now it’s been transformed into a lackluster faux-grill with exuberant pricing. Would not recommend.
Got an order to go while visiting from out of town. Wow...genuinely bad. The fried chicken on their sandwich more closely resembled a leather belt with some bread crumbs sprinkled on it than any piece of chicken I've ever had. My wife got the hot honey chicken sandwich. Had the same disgusting chicken on it, but failed to have any hot honey on it. So it was just a bland, leathery mess. While we waited, Bartenders strolled by several times without acknowledging us. Average beer selection. Unpleasant experience. Would not try again.
Horrible Experience. Very Bad Food that tasted like it was all microwaved. The wings weren’t wings but large pieces of chicken breast that were cold. Some of the food was frozen and the waitress (Jessica) was quite nasty when we requested to send something back that we didn’t like and questioned as to why we didn’t drink it saying, “how is that our problem why should we refund it?” The burger was quite bad, lukewarm, raw onions, and unmelted, processed, pre-packaged plastic cheese. The prices are not great either and for that service and atmosphere it is ridiculous. On the way out of the restaurant the waitress made a snide remark about the tip which reflected the poor customer service. When you go out and spend money the last thing you want is to get frozen and poorly-prepared food along with being nastily questioned and berated by your server.
Y do they put the burger on top of the side salad? Take out nightmare. It a shame we liked this place
