Yes, Raaga is more expensive than other Indian restaurants in the area but I truly believe you get what you pay for. We popped in for lunch on a Friday and took full advantage of their express lunch menu. You get an appetizer, main entrée, side, rice, naan, and dessert. My husband and I ordered different items to share and ended up having a delicious little buffet of sorts. The flavors here are wonderful with food cooked to perfection. The more I eat here the more I realize I don't want to get Indian food anywhere else. Raaga isn't the best Indian I've had but the atmosphere coupled with great service and flavorful menu items keeps me coming back. Now that I have tried several dishes on their menu I have to go ahead and up my rating.
Had a great experience with takeout and plan to stop back to dine in soon. Standard prices for the area.
Delicious food, great atmosphere and the waitstaff is attentive. Very friendly with my child. I highly recommend the Eggplant dish! And if you are into very spicy the Lamb Vindaloo is delicious.
Ragga catered for my daughter’s wedding few months back. All the guests are still raving about the food. Both the quality of food and presentation was excellent. Hemini is vey polite and professional and she and her husband are both a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend Raaga to anyone who is looking to cater food for any occasion.
I have wanted to go here for several months... I asked my wife to go on at least two separate occasions. I believe I did not ask properly. Well, it's Triangle Restaurant Week, so my wife wanted to try a new restaurant. That's correct she wanted to try Raaga. So, we made a reservation for 7:30 and arrived a bit before 7pm on a Saturday. No problem! The seated us quickly. Our main server was Skye. I say main because 2 other people assisted her. We ordered an orca appetizer. Wow! That was excellent. I had the Scallops in Masala. Those were incredible scallops and the sauce was even better! I had the Lamb Rogan (not Seth) Josh. The spices were exquisite and subtly "hot" and the portions were generous. The Nan was like manna... For dessert Mixed Fruit Kulfi...very nice also had some spice in the background. And we had 1000 Stories Zinfindel from California. Excellent wine finished in bourbon barrels...what a great meal. Now, my wife wants to go back once a week.
Lunch Buffett was delicious. Allows you to sample various dishes of Indian Cuisine. The fresh baked Naan bread was perfect. Just note, the food has a nice spice and kick to it. I drank alot of water during my meal and broke a sweat.
I eat here every time I am in town! The food is fantastic and the wait staff are welcoming. I just find myself coming back all the time, especially for the lunch buffet!
The food and decor is really good. Service has been every time I have been there. Also, they have a pretty nice whisky selection if that is your thing.
Best Indian food for miles great hosting even if they can't help being from Wales 🤡 and Chai good enough to make me cry. Two visits in a week and can't wait to get back.
After seeing the menu i was shocked with the prices but after having the food only one word came out of mouth is ... "Amazing" Must try restaurant. Quality at its best.
Authentic taste of spicy indian food. My favorite is murg chettinaad (chicken), spice level 8/10. Paan kulfi is also one of the favorite desserts.
Excellent Indian food. One of my favorite restaurants in town. Very careful about gluten.
Excellent food and outstanding service! Definitely recommend Raaga if you’re looking for great Indian food!
Excellent food..warm and responsive staff and great value for money... authentic indian cuisine..highly recommended
We drive over an hour and a half to come eat at Raaga! The food is phenomenal! We have never tried anything that we didn’t love. Tyler was an excellent server and Mrs. Patel, the owner was very gracious and attentive. We will be back soon!
This is my first time here. It was an awesome experience. There were so many dishes to choose from. I enjoyed all the food that we order and thought everything was great. The dishes were all very aromatic and flavorful. Ambiance was awesome. I was very happy with the overall experience.
Raaga restaurant is one of our favorites in the area. The food, ambience and service is always excellent. They are creative in making their dishes and use fresh and great ingredients. We catered a private function in their resaturant and it was a huge success. The owners are warm and welcoming. Highly recommend Raaga for all your special moments.
I enjoyed the food, its actually the best Indian food i have eatenand the flat bread, oh!. It all felt like it was made with love, it was healthy and straight from the heart.. (that makes a difference with food). Customer service was great!! Will visit more. ..
My family and I held my brother and his fiancee's engagement dinner at Raaga on New Years Eve over the weekend. For the past few weeks I had been working with the owner, Hemini Patel, in order to choose a menu and plan out details for the night. She was fantastic to work with and truly cared about giving us the best quality experience! We were thoroughly impressed with everything from the quality/taste of the food, the decor, as well as the customer service we received. Although they were already very busy because of the holiday weekend, they were still able to accommodate every one of our large groups needs. I never found myself asking the servers for water or where each dish we ordered was, because everything was brought out promptly and efficiently! My family and I are very happy with our experience at Raaga and will be back time and time again!
Without a doubt, it's the best Indian food we've found in the Triangle NC area. We've visited twice. The food and service are wonderful, and we were able to get a table without a wait, during a time we thought it would be busy. I think that's because while lots of Indian immigrants seem to have discovered Raaga, other locals haven't found it yet.
Pretty good lunch buffet for $12.90 (as of Winter, 2017). Good food at good prices. The naan is fantastic and I've always found the service to be great.
Raaga catered my daughter's 150+ person wedding near Durham, NC in Spring 2014. The food was excellent -- the lamb chops, crab cakes and shrimp appetizers were particularly popular with guests, many of whom were visiting from places like NYC and London. Prajesh was friendly and easy to work with. Minor bill concerns were resolved promptly and amicably.
Excellent food! Love their gravies and breads (have never tasted softer naans anywhere before). A little pricey and customer service can be better..
Very good. It's not the traditional Indian restaurant but has great food and friendly service.
Excellent food, but pricey. Veggie meals are well made and fairly priced but mat dishes seem way to high.
Food, service and cocktails ask very good. Excellent if you need an Indian food fix.
Very clean and beautifully presented. Service was a little slow, but the food was fabulous.
Very friendly and professional staff, food is amazing but a little pricier, cool environment..
It was a mix of great and not-so-great. The food was good, exceptional appetizer (crisp cauliflower) and great entrees. However, the bread (naan) was mediocre (dried basil topping?). The service was solicitous, but the order of hot tea came with an half-full basket of bags, none of which was black tea, and it took so long for replacement that my dinner mate went to another table to get some.
Came here for dinner several months ago and enjoyed everything, especially the fried cauliflower appetizer. There was a mix up with who was serving our table, but that was easily sorted through. The decor is lovely.
I really like the food and the location is super convenient. It's also pretty impressive that the manager has responded to every piece of feedback on here. Very attentive. I prefer getting takeout, as the last couple of times I've sat down, the service has been a little on the slow side. I'm normally pretty patient, but the last time, my party was the only table seated and our drinks still took an awful long time to get to us. It wasn't so inconvenient that I wouldn't return, however.
Been here a few times and find the food to be hit and miss. Some menu items were good, others not so much. Service has been variable as well. Overall an OK place but they need to step up the menu and service.
Food is delicious. Service has been less than ideal. Not very attentive and sometimes slow service. Prices are a bit steep, but the atmosphere is nice.
Very nice well decorated indian restaurant with upscale service and prices. The food is average. This place is mostly about the service and ambiance.
Good food on the pricy side with great service. Was four stars but last time I went for a carry out it wasn't as good as the first few times.
Not so authentic indian cuisine, if you are expecting spicy food do not try the buffet.
The food doesn't bring this restaurant's rating down. In fact, the entree, appetizer, and cocktail were great (butter chicken & kurkuri bhindi are recommended). However, it's one of the few restaurants I've left in recent memory where the cost of the meal still stuck in my mind after the moment of signing the check - indeed, that remains the major association with the restaurant in my mind - "too much for what you get". Overhead in that shopping center must be ridiculous - (again, admittedly well)-seasoned chicken and rice for $24? As an additional reminder to open your wallet and dump it upside-down over the tablecloth: automatic gratuity kicked in for no apparent reason - 4 of us sitting at one table, on 2 separate checks somehow passed that threshold?
I've been here three times and was pleased the first two, except for the inflated prices. This third time, however, the entire staff seemed unwelcoming. Our server gave us attitude several times and seemed irritated that we asked to split the check (there were four of us, we asked for two checks). The food is great but overpriced. I would hesitate to come back.
Nice ambiance, friendly service (for the drinks part of the meal since we all got the self-serve lunch buffet), and a mostly "meh" meal - nothing bad, but nothing to write home to Mom about either.
Not worth the steep prices they keep for entrees. There are cheaper and better options available. The $25 entree didn't suffice for two people. The quantity they serve is not what you expect for such prices. We were left asking for more and were not satisfied like we feel after a full course meal. If ambience and decor are what you look for in a restaurant, this place is for you. But food is not their highlight.
Just left Raaga. Started with 2 servers who we never saw again. When our order was taken by the bartender we were never asked about our spice preferences which we are accustomed to at Indian restaurants. HOWEVER if it hadn't been for the bartender we would have starved to death. The food was ok but not good enough to balance out the bad service. We won't be back.
Started out so positive. Fifteen minutes later, still no service. Everyone else seemed to be taken care of. I walked out...no one even noticed.
Poor service! Waiter kept messing up the order and waited forever just for two glasses of wine. When the bill came my party of four requested two separate checks, the waiter added 20% tip automatically on the total bill. I complained about it and was told that is standard procedure for dividing up the check. After complaining they removed the 20% and I tipped accordingly. Will not return!
I made a reservation for 2 to eat here and when I arrived I was told it would be at least a 30 minute wait. There was no seating for waiting we were not offered any sort of apology. We left.. What is the point of a reservation if there will still be a 30 minute wait? I understand that things happen but I would at least hope for some sort of apology or explanation... Very disappointed.
We had a HORRIBLE experience with Raaga. Raaga offers a Groupon deal of $25 for $50 worth of food. The Groupon terms and conditions do not list any exclusions other than no more than 1 Groupon per table. However, once we arrived at Raaga for dinner on Valentine's Day, they turned us away because we were attempting to use a Groupon stating that "they would lose too much money on it". When I informed the hostess that Valentine's Day is not listed as an exclusion anywhere on restaurant website or on the Groupon terms and conditions, I was told that it was "not her problem". I was also informed that if I ever do return to Raaga to use a Groupon, that a 20% automatic gratuity would be added to our check. I see this as punishment for using a Groupon. I was under the impression that businesses using Groupon deals are attempting to reach new customers, get new business, and are likely struggling to fill the restaurant regularly. This restaurant should not offer a Groupon if they are going to be rude to customers and turn them away upon learning that a groupon is being used for the meal. I was embarrassed by the staff and appalled that any business could be so cheap.
I have had the worst customer service here at this restaurant for more than two years now culminated by a pickup order placed on their online ordering that was charged to my card, a confirmation email sent and when I arrived here for pickup, they have NO order...no food ready NOTHING! The waitress here says that I should call them next time....why do you even offer online ordering if you do not even check the orders?????? What an answer to a customer who now has to sit here for the food to be cooked. The only reason they survive is their chef because they don't care about their customer service experience on bit. I will be spreading the word now on the horrible service here.
Food is okay. Both times I have gotten takeout my order was wrong. Don't get the Ragaa salad; it consists only of mixed greens (not as described on the menu).
They chared 20% gratuaty for 2 people!! Plus on my receite it was $10 & on my credit card it was $15. And they did not have any answere for this except after many calls I got an answere from someone saying I will pay from My paystub 😳 !!
My experience at this restaurant was one of the worse I ever had. I came during their lunch buffert. The selection was very small and the food did not taste anything near authentic India cuisine. The service was horrible. We had to wait for a clean plate in order to eat from the buffert. The waitress was barley around to service the customers. They even overcharge me for the horrible food and service. There are plenty of Indian Cursine restaurant that serves much better food and their service is great. This place is not worth the time and money spent here. The only positive is their decor is nice. I'm not in the market to look for comfort chairs. I'm come to restaurant to eat good tasty food. Something this restaurant does not have.
The food was great, but the service was awful (some of the worst I've experienced). I walked out of the restaurant so upset that I couldn't rate them more than 1 star, despite the good food. I usually don't buy LivingSocial or Groupon deals to restaurants, but I did for Raaga because they had decent reviews, a good menu, and a nice atmosphere. I won't make this mistake again. My fiancee and I were looking forward to a nice date night, which unfortunately went all wrong. I had a reservation for dinner for two at 8pm on a Friday night. We only waited 5 minutes to be seated. We noticed the hostess seated us and the two parties in front of us in a section of the restaurant with a waiter who already had a lot of tables. The restaurant was only half full, so the hostess could have seated us in another section, but it looked like they were trying to clear out that half of the restaurant. Because of this, we had slow service the whole night. We ordered drinks after sitting down. My beer came out pretty quick, but it took over 10 minutes for my fiancee to get her glass of wine. There seemed to be confusion between two servers (one of whom wasn't waiting on us) and the bartender, regarding who was taking our drink order and bringing us our drinks. We had these three people come to our table separately a couple of times to take and confirm our order. My fiancee finally got her wine by the time our first appetizer came. We ordered two appetizers and two main dishes. The first appetizer came out within 10 minutes. However, we had to wait over 45 minutes for our second appetizer, which was a lamb kebob that doesn't take that long to cook and plate. While we were waiting for our food we ordered another round of drinks. The bartender informed us that they were out of one of the main "wines by the glass" that I wanted and out of another wine that my fiancee wanted. They were also out of some of the items for the featured cocktails. Our server was nice enough, and seeing that we were getting annoyed, to offer my fiancee's wine free of charge for being out of the ones we wanted. Finally, one of our main dishes was brought to our table along with our lamb kebob appetizer. At this point it is 9:15 - 9:30, which is close to the restaurant's closing time. As we begin to eat our food I notice the staff is cleaning all around us. They are cleaning the tables next to us (only 3 feet from each other) spraying windex on the glass tops, sweeping the floor around us and hitting my chair with the broom, and resetting the whole dining room (including carrying tables across the room). It's obvious the staff wants to go home and doesn't care about our meal or dining experience. I complain to one of the waiters and ask him to stop so we can enjoy our meal without the distractions or threat of getting cleaning products in our food. He TALKS BACK TO ME UNDER HIS BREATH and goes in the back to get someone to deal with us. At this point I'm angry we are being treated so badly in a place that should have good service, especially when you're charging $20-25 for your main entrees. Another staff member comes out, asks what the problem is, apologizes while people are still cleaning around us, and offers us a BOX OF RICE to take home with our leftovers to make up for our bad experience. HOW PITIFUL! While all this is going on we are still waiting for our second main dish, which we have to ask our server about. It comes out 10 minutes later, by the time we're done eating the food that's already on the table. We take a few bites and take it to go. I should have sent it back and refused to pay for it. In summary, the staff doesn't care about your experience or their level of service at this restaurant. I feel really bad for their chef, who makes good food, but has to do so with amateur staff and poor restaurant management. If you want good food, don't care what you're paying, and don't care how you are treated, this is the place for you!
