Had the best Mother’s Day dinner here last night. The food is amazing and staff is fantastic. Every time I come here, I don’t want to leave. Do yourself a favor and follow them on Instagram for specials and try the border table. Chef’s kiss to Centro Basco.
1.A fantastic dining experience from start to finish. The service was attentive and friendly, and the staff had great knowledge of the menu and wine list. The food was a revelation—each dish was bursting with flavor. The escargots were a must-try, and the crème brûlée was a perfect way to end the meal. The atmosphere was charming and refined, with elegant French décor and a cozy, welcoming vibe. Highly recommend for any French food lover!
Wow! Our new favorite restaurant in SoCal. Everything was delicious and made fresh. The desserts were better than 5 star! We don't even like split pea soup and we couldn't get enough. Centro Basco's food is amazing! Major plus, they are so welcoming and friendly. Can't wait to come back.
My grandma has been coming to this restaurant since she was young with her grandma. My family and I finally got to join her for dinner last night and this place is truly amazing! Everyone was pleased with their food. We had the ribeye, shrimp scampi, salmon, porkchops, and roast chicken. To quote my 15-year-old son "the salmon is divine." The staff was very friendly and had great service. The owner is close with my grandma and even sang happy birthday to her again, even though her birthday was the beginning of this month. The rum cake was a perfect ending to a wonderful evening of great tasting food and a welcoming atmosphere. Will definitely be coming here again!
Centro Basco continues to be our all time favorite restaurant. The food is always great, prices are very good. I recommend the Sunday family style dinner. Fixed price that is always a wonderful value for what you get.
This place is a community landmark for a reason! Excellent service, memorable meals, all in a cozy & charming space. Seriously, tell your friends and family, and try the amatxi setup.
I highly recommend the Centro Basque. It is fine dining that is reasonably priced for the quality and quantity of food that you get. I tried the calamari steak and it was delicious! What a special treat for a night out!
The Rack of lamb was cooked to perfection, husbands prime rib was delicious,& pork chops perfect. Don’t forget the dessert out of this world. I was here as a child, my mother inlaw brought us back. Definitely will be back again.
Centro Basco has always been a staple of my family's gatherings and a highlight of our reunions. The food is comforting and delicious, the restaurant itself is decorated with beautiful paintings and cultural memorabilia, but the best part is the people. Centro Basco is a family business in more than one sense of the word. It's family run, but it's also family oriented. Its a place where people can come together, break bread, be with each other, and get great service all the while. My family has come for long enough that we all know the owners, and they're wonderful people. I'd recommend this place to anybody, especially anyone looking for good Basque food and good company. Txin txin baby!
Good old family restaurant. I come from Colorado often to visit family and this is a must go to place. Bernadette and her family continue to serve top notch meals, service and a home atmosphere. Must go to place!!!
80% of the chino population don't know about this place most people drive by this place 🙄 I didn't even know about this place till now ...boy let me tell you the spaghetti 🍝 & pasta are delicious but don't get that dip sandwich not cool at all 90% bread 10% meat 😢 but this place is a must try ignore the weird people inside they believe their better then you ....they probably think I'm looking for work 🤣🤣🤣🤣 when in reality I'm having a better dish 😅 but yeah delicious food & cool employees 😎
Our favorite place to eat! The split pea soup on Saturday nights is the best although all their soups are delicious! Over the years I’m sure we have tried everything on the menu, but now I always have the lamb chops. So good! From the bottomless soup, bread & salad bowls to the variety of main courses. Everything is fresh, consistent & cooked to perfection. It’s like coming home. ♥️
We love Centro Basco! The food is delicious!
Nostalgic atmosphere with old school options. As though Nonna is in the kitchen cooking traditional family recipes. Great flavors, friendly service, and good value.
I finally went to try the paella on Friday evening. It did not disappoint. It has plenty of seafood: shrimp, clams, mussels. Also, a few pieces of Lukinka sausage and chicken drumettes. I'm a rice fanatic, so I would have preferred more. Insanely delicious and at$30 well worth it! I added the $8 to make it a meal which came with bread, butter, soup, beans, and salad. I loved the house made Bleu cheese that came mixed in and had a slice of Jack cheese on top. However, make sure to ask for tomatoes and onions if so inclined. I left very satisfied and definitely will return. Service was on the slow side, but very friendly.
I and my brother celebrated our birthday dinner at Centro Basco. Absolutely amazing as always. My family has been loyal customers since the 70s. If you can afford it I urge you to experience it. I had a ribeye for my entree. We went with a family style service. We had a great time. Peace big John
(Via Eat the World Los Angeles) - There are multiple rooms (and bars), but even the main dining room can comfortably host small and big groups within its wood wainscoted walls. Old photographs and paintings set the mood of culture and tradition, but within minutes of sitting down even those with no familiarity into Basque food or people cannot hide from the warm, contagious vibe.
Centro Basco, wasn’t just an average restaurant, it was a cool experience as well. Let me start off by saying the staff was very engaging, helpful, and kind! The food was amazing, it just kept coming. There was soup, and yummy bread, then the omelette, applesauce, pork chops, and salad. The dessert was some kind of almond pie, with whipped cream on top. I forgot what it was called, but it was highly recommended, and very tasty! Bernadette, the owner came and visited with us. She was very warm, and sweet. She wanted to make sure everyone was satisfied. This experience is highly recommended! Thank you, Centro Basco, and Bernadette!
Excellent food and friendly setvice. My sisters had never had Basque food before. They said it was such a treat. We had the :"Borders Lunch." Servedd family style we had soup, salad, appetizer of beef tongue and tomatoes, two cheese plates, large basket of bread, pork chops, vegetable, potatoes, and two glasses of wine. Four adults and one grandson yet our bill was just $74.25!
The food is always delicious. Your restaurant was my choice for my birthday. My husband and I both have some Basque blood so we feel a connection to your restaurant. We ordered takeout since I have a new grandson at home.
Centro Basco has been a family stable of mine for 45 years. This restaurant has been home to many special events in my life and in my families. They have hosted many parties, dinners, birthdays, baptisms, and events for us. The food and atmosphere is 2nd to none. This place is a chino stable and theres a reason why so many successful business people and lawyers from the area come here. The vibe is excellent and the owner Bernadette really cares about her customers.
Whether you are dining in or taking out, the food is always AMAZING! Every time I walk in, I feel like I’m at my grandparents house. Just warm, welcoming and the smell of delicious food being made. Everyone there is super nice and provides great service. You want to eat some amazing food, go here. I recommend all the food. I HIGHLY recommend the family style meals where you sit with strangers on one or several long tables enjoying a 3 course meal. My first time there was at lunch and was able to hear the native language, Euskara, of where my last name comes from. It was a cool experience
This restaurant made our anniversary truly special. After a long time of not eating out, we decided to celebrate here and it turned out to be a wonderful choice. The team was cheerful, welcoming, and very respectful, which created a warm and pleasant atmosphere. The food tasted amazing and everything was served promptly. Each dish was full of flavor and clearly prepared with care.
Had our company Christmas party again as last year! And it was amazing more than expected food was good the drinks were awesome and the service is like if you’re at home! Thanks Bernadette and to the team!
Centro Basco is a family-owned gem that brings the flavors of the Basque Country, nestled between France and Spain, right to Chino. You’ll find comforting classics like Veal Cutlet and their signature Tongue and Tomatoes, alongside Poulet Basque and tender lamb chops. What truly sets it apart is the warm, timeless atmosphere and genuine hospitality that make every visit feel like coming home. If you’re looking for an authentic Basque meal with a welcoming touch, Centro Basco is a must-visit.
Very good food. I highly recommend lamb chops dinner. Excellent service waiter very friendly. plates are large, so come hungry Will definitely be back
This place is great. It was our anniversary and we decided to go out after a year or so not dinning out. It was a great experience. The staff here are very happy, kind and polite. Always checking in on a timely manner. We were well taken care even though they have a full house and a big party just next door. The food was great!! So good and everything arrived in a timely manner as well. It was tasty. They have a full bar as well. One can just ask them to make any type of cocktails and/or drinks one desire! Feel like part of a family eating here! Great experience!
Glad to have Centro Basco so close when we’re craving for authentic European cuisine. Ordered takeout for tonight’s Dodger’s game. Ribeye and always wanted to try oxtail stew. 😋😋😋 Exceptional service as always…Thanks Bernadette!!!🙏
The food was fabulous. Marcus, who was our server, was amazing. The atmosphere was great. Our family plans to come back and visit again.
I love Centro Basco. I have been coming for years on weekends for the family style lunch and today I tried the dine in weekday lunch service and was not disappointed. I had three scrumptious pan seared lamb chops with a crispy, flavorful outside and tender meaty inside smothered in chopped garlic. The lamb was excellent, full of flavor and prepared well with sides of mashed potatoes and garlic green beans. For dessert I had a homemade pumpkin cheesecake that was heavenly. It's texture was perfect and the crust was out of this world. The addition of a dollop of whipped cream brought everything together for a delightful dessert. I've never had a bad experience here and have enjoyed coming with groups of 15+ for family style weekends. The staff is incredible and know how to treat you right. See you again soon Centro Basco! My family has been coming to this local gem, which is still family owned and operated, for generations. I hadn't been in 23 years, and it was just as good as I remember. The food was just as excellent, and it was quiet, perfect for conversation. We went for lunch and had a wonderful time. We had the chicken parm and the veal cutlet. Both were delicious. Also, if you like beef tongue, you have to try theirs. It's my favorite thing on their menu. Also, the flan was fantastic. It is a bit pricey, but well worth the value, trust me.
Walking in, the restaurant had that family owned vibe that signaled "this is either going to be terrible, or amazing." Luckily it was the latter. The veal chop was delicious, and the garlic butter mashed potatoes were phenomenal. Very generous portions.
My sister and I took my mom here Wednesday last week and we had a fantastic time. The food is excellent and Marcus, the owner's son, made sure each customer is well-attended to. He even let his mom visit our table. The tongue and tomato was a revelation. I will order that whenever I'm there. The oxtail stew was delectable and and so tender - perfection. I'm so glad I came across this establishment. They've been there for 40 years!
We were very happy to fine place. Being from out of state we don't have Basque restaurants in Phoenix. The food was everything we expected and more. Staff was very nice. We look forward to coming back.
If you love delicious food ,this is the place for you. The oxtail is excellent along with the soup, salad, fries, bread and you have to get a chunk of blue cheese.
Wow! Lunch was outstanding in all areas. Great place to go for a large group as they serve family style .

White tablecloth, cloth napkins, clean and simple... serene ambiance. Attentive service, good food... Do not pass on the burnt cheesecake!! We come here regularly and always leave happy
Good Menu. Delicious Food. Very Busy, which is good for restaurant nowadays. Service was attentive even when busy. Bartender was a bit overwhelmed, but apparently she survived the evening. Third time we went in Valentine's Day. We come again.
This place has delicious food but for my entire meal it was about a 1 hour and 10 minutes wait. I wasn’t in a rush but I hope they would have speed things up. I like how they will serve the side dishes in a family style if there was many people in your party. I ordered the shrimp scampi and the half and half wings. The wings looked over cooked but it was crispy and very juicy inside and nicely seasoned. I was surprised that the noodles for the shrimp scampi was not spaghetti but it was like a twisted egg noodle. But it was still very good. The inside of the restaurant gave an office style vibe to it but it was well decorated with a huge pretty painting.
Centro Basco specializes in cuisine from the Basque country, which lies between parts of northern Spain and southern France. This is an old school restaurant serving up home style classics. You'll have a say as to how rare you want your steak to be, but don't expect substitutions. You'll find there's no reason to mess with a good thing. Dishes range from salmon, roasted chicken, lamb/pork chops, oxtails, etc. All are served with bread, soup, beans and salad. They also have days in which the dinner is served family style. If this is the case, you'll need to call in ahead to find out what the main entry will be — or just drop in and go with the flow. If you're looking for a low key place to have a cocktail, there is a bar with a few seats. The place is old school classy, but not pretentious. The staff is friendly and the prices are fair.

We give 4 stars for service. Staff was attentive and friendly. The food, on the other hand was not good. Vegetables were not fresh. My husband ordered a 14 oz ribeye steak, cost $43.95, Totally overpriced! And it wasn't good. I ordered calamari steak, tasted old. We wanted to like this place, but we can't.
when i say the food is like home cooking, i mean that you could make something just as good at home. the servings are large and the sides are plentiful. so plentiful that there’s a lot of waste. the service was excellent, attentive, and professional. the dining room looks like the lounge in a bowling alley, though. the burnt cheesecake was great, so go light on dinner, just for the experience , and save room for dessert.

Very bland , some overdone, greasy thin fries, quality ingredients just not prepared well., ok service, A for effort.. prefer the continental in glendora. Good desserts, nice tableware , elegant atmosphere. Will not be eating here again.

First of all , this is NOT authentic french restaurant, nor Spanish, not basque at all. Put few french words like "fait maison" "soupe du jour"on the menu, it does Not make a French restaurant. Let me tell you why, The calamari I can taste nothing but salt and oil, what am i eating?? Bacon jalapeno is Tex-Mex style was ok. The Veal , dear Lord , this is the worst ever, the most terrible veal I ever tasted. How the veal can be wrong ?? And The side veggies are from the CANS !! I do not recommend it at all, it is not French, it is not Spanish and it is definitely not Basque. and I will never come back to this restaurant ever again Oh almost forgot, there is something is French, the service style is very French, so slow and so hard to find your waitress.

This place is ridiculous. The soup was mostly water and mushy carrots, the gravy on the poutine was McCormick brown gravy and the mushrooms were too rubbery to be fresh. The salad was half a head of iceberg with two “cracker slices” of cheese on the top. The vegetables are from a frozen mix, the au gratin potatoes were stale and mealy, and to top it off they are expensive. $50 for a steak I could get at Denny’s and $30 for a dry chicken breast with whole crushed canned tomatoes for seasoning. I can’t get over how much they charge for TV dinner sides an a mediocre steak.
