Shared my 76 year old birthday with a friend today. And where did I want to go? Denny's of course. Grew up with the grand slam special throughout my adult life and joined the birthday club some 20 years ago. Thank you for remembering my special day and to see you guys still have what it takes to be a family hot eating spot. Keep up the good work. Really awesome experience despite the pandemic. We sat outside (Nov 2020). It was a bit cold but it is kinda cool. The lady serving was helpful, friendly, and kind. We had terrific times. Love it. The food (the crazy spicy skillet) was just so perfect. Hope things go back to normal.

I’m still on London time! Their late nite sign clued me in that they’d be open! What writer wouldn’t want a clean and well-lighted place for an early breakfast? Also love the concept of their claw machine for kids: win it or save for the price you want! The only downside? The cost is likely astronomical! But kids will learn good principles of personal finance so it might be worth it.

I love to come to Dennys on the weekends. Even if it is busy. Service is fast and welcoming. The food is also nice and hot when it comes out. My favorite thing to order are the pancakes because they are nice and fluffy, I recommend soaking them in syrup. The bathrooms are very clean when I go in, they are typically on top of cleaning.

I stopped at Denny's pretty late at night and wasn't expecting much, I got the t bone steak and to my surprise it was actually really good. My boyfriend and I always love this location. Understandable they are understaffed, but some of the nicest people ever working there. We came in to do some homework and eat dinner. It was empty, but they had about 3 people working that shift. When we got here at about 10 25 am, they were very busy and we were told it was a 10-minute wait. We went to the restroom and we were gone maybe for 4-minutes. We were in California on vacation and ate at this Denny's every morning. It was affordable, clean, and the staff were professional and friendly every morning. It quickly became a part of our morning routine. Our waitress' smile and prompt service was an added bonus to our trip. I highly recommend this Denny's!

Outdoor seating only due to COVID-19 but service was fine. We split a double cheeseburger with and extra order of onion rings and that was plenty of food for the two of us. (Seniors) The Onion Rings were some of the best I’ve ever tasted. Very crispy with no oiliness at all. I would stop by just for onion rings and a soda when I’m near there again.

I'm speaking from my experience, I'm a this Denny's particular used to be awful but but recently within the last 8 months they've improved dramatically especially with the food. I went there 7 times so far since February of this read of this year and I've noticed A more portion also food is more tastier, Better service, comma their customer service before was so poor it was so poor but now it's improved dramatically!!!!!!!!

The place is a bit dated, but the food is fine. It is located off the freeway and a major road so the traffic of seedy customers late at night is frequent. Service is good, but some of the servers can improve by being a little less robotic and more attentive when it comes to requests like more water, refills, condiments, more napkins, etc. Asking twice is a common occurrence. The best value for meal is there $2, $4, $6, and $8 meal. The $8 meal has both coffee AND juice! Outside of that, I gave it 4 stars because there is still room for improvement. I don't expect a Michelin star restaurant service at establishments like this but there is a standard. It is a old school Diner after all. So, you get what you pay for.

A solid Denny's with well made food (except for forgetting cheddar on a burger). Moons over my hammy was plain but the spicy skillet had kick and plenty of food. Service was okay - once you get the staff's attention, they'll be glad to help.

I like Denny's, the service was great, the food was good and the price is good. I don't go to Denny's very often because the food choices are out of date. We split a sandwich that was 1300 calories. We don't normally eat that much. They have a hamburger that's 1900 calories, add a soda drink and you're up to 2300, almost the entire daily calorie intake of a active man.

Chicken Wings are noticeably juicer and higher quality than Wing Stop. What you sacrifice with choice and diversity is made up with overall meat quality. Also costs more. There are a few homeless people outside but, notably, Dennys employees bumped them back to the adjacent Jack-In-The-Box they live at. I approve of this because I don't like being harassed while eating, which is why I have stopped eating at this JITB. 5/5 because Dennys employees are concerned for my safety, hygiene and comfort. The waitress who served me did really well with an older crippled woman and her daughter, this is a great safe and clean place for an older mobility impaired person. Final verdict is 4.8 stars because of the adjacent business.

This is just your basic Denny's. Nothing more nothing less. This Denny's has been at this location for longer than I've been alive and I'm definitely not in my 30s or 40s anymore! Just like any other denny's, depends on the time and the day. But they have the traditional menu the restrooms are clean and the parking lot is accessible.

I was here for breakfast yesterday, hadn't been here since my good old going out days when we would stop by at 3 am.... I came with my sister and our kids and even though the food was good and it wasn't busy, I'm taking off stars because of the bad service we received. Like I mentioned, it wasn't busy but out waitress took a little too long to take our order, deliver the food and the check, never once did she offer coffee refill. She didn't seem too happy to be there and it surely showed, needles to say, I won't be coming back soon.

It's okay. I haven't been here in a while. Go to IHOP. It's better than Denny's. I used to like Denny's but it has downgraded. Overall, the waiters are chill but the food quality was kind of basic. I don't know, I got bad luck maybe?

Pancakes are best tasting, food prepared well. However, prices have increased over 80% in the past two years. A grand slam used to be $4.99, now it is close to $10! Inflation at 3% the Federal Reserve wants us to believe? As if we are dumb.

This location is mediocre at best. They almost never answer the phone. In addition, on multiple occasions I was left waiting over 45 mins for my take out order... And after that 45 minutes was up, I was notified that my order was (somehow) lost. I waited another length of time to have my food prepared. In the many times I've gotten food here, often times the staff are unpleasant. Only once did I ever have an experience with a staff member here that was really on top of things. I no longer eat here... Even when hungry late at night, and tempted.... Just absolutely not worth the hassle and stress.

Just like every other Denny’s, a late night spot for typical American diner fair. One interesting thing about Dennys is that they all do their nachos slightly differently. This internet used real nacho cheese as well as cheddar, with heaps of sour cream. What it does miss, however, is jalapeños which you can find at other Dennys, which provides a nice bit of spice.

I felt bad for Denny's. Due to construction getting to Denny is a pain and I thought their business was most likely slow. at first I was the only patron. My order was quickly taken. 3 of us went there for breakfast this morning September 4th, 2023. 2 of us orders scrambled eggs with diced ham. What we got was eggs and a small piece of ham. The waiter said he didn’t understand our order. The bill came and said we had ordered a b slam and then there was a extra $2 charge for the ham. The total bill was $62 and change. We tried explaining this to the cashier and she didn’t understand either. No one else was around we could talk too so we just paid and left. This is the last time going there.

Great food. Bad service. Our meals were delivered at separate times so we got to watch each other eat. We then waited 20 minutes to order dessert & couldn't flag down a waiter till the 3rd try. The waiters all seem talk more then they work & disappear a lot. The restaurant is less than half empty with tons of waiters, so it shouldn't be so hard to order. We ordered 2 hot fudge sundaes, they brought 1 without saying something like "the other is coming up soon". After 15 minutes they didn't bring another, never checked in on us, & never gave us a bill. No way would we leave a tip with that kind of service. We went to the front to get our bill & pay. They forgot to add my dad's clam chowder, so we said, "the clan chowder isn't on the receipt". The guy didn't seem to understand so we just paid the undercharged bill & left. I honestly think they all didn't understand English, cause they all spoke Spanish, were questioning everything we ordered & still got it wrong.

They have slogans on their coffee cups. This morning mine said A great diner never has a coffee cup half empty. Mine was completely empty a few times. This was the best part of our breakfast. They took our order, never brought our water back. She came back and said that I forgot to order. I asked for water again and reminded her what my order was. Oh yeah she said and disappeared. Both orders came out wrong. She said that she would bring out the right items but only brought out one of them. Despite it being a disaster, I know that it's possible that the kitchen messed it up and she just didn't check, except for the water and coffee. So, I gave her a good tip but it does point to a possible reason why they are slipping so much in popularity.

Dennys disappointed me. I thought they always had great service until one night my sister found a hair in her food. They offered to make her a new plate and when she politely declined and asked for her money back instead, their attitude changed for the worse. Wasn't the first time we've found a hair in our food. This place used to be super great and clean. I wonder what changed.

Steak ordered well done and came medium. Didn't get it back until already finished with our meal. Milkshake was watery and tasteless. Everything else was good and the waiter was very nice and attentive.

Mediocre reviews... not really any worse than my normal Denny's so we stopped by. I was pleased to see that they had kids menus that my daughter could color on. They had signage up advertising a cup with headband (whatever that was about) and I was pleased. It was clean and well kept. We got seated and service was slow. When I went to order my food (eggs, french toast and a ham slice) I was very very specific about my eggs being cooked over hard. My husband even pointed it out again. "Please make sure that the eggs are cooked all the way through." They came out runny in the middle. The french toast... I don't think it had been dipped in egg (as french toast is generally made) at all. The french toast was overcooked on the outside and not cooked at all in the middle. It was simply dry stale bread. The ham slice was good. I will not be going back to this location.

1st let me say the food wasn't the problem, I think they make some of the best burgers. The problem is services it took a good 5 minutes b4 anyone came to the table and then once we got our food it took 4 attempts to just get mustard and mayonnaise. I asked the server for it 1st she brings me hot sauce (2 kinds) I say no mustard and mayonnaise then I get ranch I say the same thing I get honey mustard I say no then I get ready to pull out my phone to type in what I want she says mayo I say yessss. 4th try I get mayonnaise but still no mustard. I guess nobody puts mustard on burgers.

They were late opening, the tables were too wet to eat on. I asked the employee for something to dry the table with, that he didn't get. The restrooms were closed with no signage. But my coffee and cinnamon roll was good.

Food and drinks were enjoyable and that’s the only positive comment. Shame about the lack of any decent service. Our server didn’t ask how our food was. We had to chase him for new drinks and the cheque. The place had lots of used dishes out on the tables and the appears to be suffering from a lack of sufficient staff especially at peak times. The place also needs new carpet and lacks atmosphere compared to other Denny’s. We wouldn’t return here.

I've been eating at this Denny's every weekend for months. Service has been on the decline. The food is still good, but you can't get a refill on your coffee. When I was tired of waiting for a refill of coffee. I paid my tab and asked, for a cup to go. I was then informed that I had to pay for another cup. Three dollars a cup for coffee it's getting a bit ridiculous. I asked to speak to the manager, and he promptly got me a cup of coffee to go at no charge. No one should have to go through all that aggravation for good service. I highly doubt I'll ever eat at this establishment again.

Like warm service and the food is not tasty. The food at the San Mateo location taste better. Sorry I always forget to take fotos. Gustavo who is no longer there was always up in the kitchen and everywhere else so everybody was on their toes. The service has deteriorated since he left. The cold air conditioner always makes your food cold before finishing your meal.

The waiter tried. He was pleasant but I don't think he understood English very well. My mother asked for a cheese only omelet and she ended up with an omelet filled with tomatoes and onions. I ordered white toast with plain mashed potatoes. I ended up with mashed potatoes with potato skins and a ton of spice and gravy. Granted the server too the potatoes back and scraped off the gravy for me but they still had a ton of crap in them for being "plain mashed potatoes."

Came after driving up from Orange County. The booth we were at was dirty my fiancée had to wipe down the booth, there was food all over it. Our 1st server was good. This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had! there was no manager on duty because they're short-staffed, none of the servers had name tags on because they were all rude except for maybe two of them and they didn't want to be called out on what they had done, my server went on break and didn't let me know after serving my food and not refilling my coffee. I had to flag someone down for a refill I had to fly to another person down for hot sauce I had to have another person get me some syrup bottle that worked, and nobody ever checked to see how I was doing during the meal! The waitress took 30 minutes just to bring us drinks, waited her other tables great, but my table was left to the side. Then she confronted us about not tipping her as if she was entitled to a tip. I like Denny's but that was one of the worst customer service experience I ever witnessed. The outside of steak was red in places esp near the bone and blood was dripping. Too rare. The shrimp were brown and burn with the meat dry and hard. Very tough chew. I told waitress who did nothing. I asked her to please get dessert right. I took it with and did not try it until in the hotel room. It was the worst ever. could not eat it. the crisp topping was burnt and the ice cream was barely a tablespoon and to be soft because 10 minutes later it was all melted and mixed in with unedible burnt crisp. won't eat there again.

My party is very polite. Server (Lorena M) is extremely rude, condescending, doesn’t explain the menu and is grossly inappropriate towards us. Added food to the bill that we did not order. Asked for the manager, and she says to us that she is the “supervisor” and that the manager is not there so our only choice is to file a complaint about her TO her. She walked away swearing and calling me inappropriate names in Spanish (assuming I did not speak Spanish and wouldn’t understand her), very funny. Never eating at Denny’s again, absolutely bottom of the barrel employees.

I've been here several times, only because of convenience, but EVERY time I've been here the servers are horrible and the two young guys checking people in or cashing people out are only half paying attention. My last visit I had to ask for my check 3 times and that's after I was done with my meal. I've also gotten the vibe that they prefer their Spanish customers to anyone else. I'll go pay more or find a different Denny's from now on. Do yourself a favor and avoid this headache.

Menu clearly shows "Extra two eggs for $2.69" when ordering a specific skillet and they actually charge $6 for two eggs. Called the manager and I was told there's nothing they can do as in the system they don't follow the prices showed in the menu. So, be careful.

The food wasn't very good, eggs were overdone outside and whites were runny. Bacon was cold. The waitress didn't come to offer refill coffee or to check on us, until it was time to pay. Humm. Will not be back.

the server was slow and too relaxed for the work she had to do, the cook also too relaxed and the food was cold and bland, a biscuit and gravy should not look and taste like drywall and spackle!!! undercooked, no seasoning, just downright inedible! the crepes were a bit more promising, but it doesn't change my opinion about this place, oh! and did i mention an extra half an hour wait after the meal to be able to pay in cash with the excuse that the register and system were "not working"? yeah, no thanks, and this is coming from someone with plenty of experience in food service, please hire new staff!

Ordered online and worst meal I ever got and they forgot some food not to mention they made me wait for so long and the food was sitting there on a table by the time I ate it and I did right after I walked out in my car the food was hard nasty they did me dirty everything went to the garbage / update to a lot of months later and they still forgot food I order and they tip them selves $2.99 on my card when I only put $1.00 that’s funny

The brisket was burnt. If it was any dryer it could have passed unattractively for some sort of disgusting jerky. The server spoke broken English, barely understandable. She stated she was from Columbia so we attempted to communicate in Spanish our native language as well. She refused to speak to us in Spanish. Drinks were not refilled and would patiently sit empty at the edge of the table until she chose to appear and refill. I had to ask for ice as none was added. The worst food and service I have ever received.

I've never experienced the worst biscuits & gravy & over easy eggs ever... Food quality went downhill... My friend's beef hash never arrived. My Spanish is weak... I'm disappointed 😞

My husband ordered a coffee to start; there was no sugar. Simple mistake we moved on. Made or order and got our food to realize no ketchup on our table. The eggs on both plates where barely over easy and we ordered over medium. They forgot something for my husbands order and his biscuits where under done. All was very bland. Went to use the restroom and it smelled heavy of mold...our waitress was polite was the only good thing i have to say about it here.

I unfortunately have to write a scathing review of this Denny's location: DO NOT EAT HERE! I went on a Sunday late night trip with a friend. We waited a bit to order, and the waitress was not very friendly. Not that big a deal. (Maybe she was not having a great day.) The food arrived - we split mozzarella sticks, which were not very hot and had a strange texture and color of the outer breading. They still tasted okay. My friend had nachos, while I ate the classic benny. It honestly tasted like it was leftover and the Hollandaise sauce was just put on as an afterthought, which was lukewarm at best. The fries I ordered instead of hash browns were tasty, I must say. Only good thing about the entire experience! However, the kicker was that we waited close to 40 minutes to get the bill. We were chatting and catching up, so at first we didn't mind that much, but I had to flag down the hostess to get it. The cherry on top? When we went to pay, we saw 3 girls at the register who looked confused. They took a while and left. The 2 guys that paid after us, somehow paid for OUR bill with a credit card, which was $40.50, while they owed $47.51. The hostess asked in Spanish if I spoke it, to which I replied "no". After probably 10 minutes of fumbling around and explaining, and using a translator on her cell, the 2 guys paid the difference of their bill, plus tip - $16 and some change. They wished us good luck as they left, looking perplexed. The hostess then proceeded to get us to pay $47.51 - the other party's bill! We decided to switch to cash, rather than credit card to make it easier, but refused to pay that amount. She tried to give us incorrect change, $52 approximately. We pointed out that we only owed $40.51, to which she finally gave us the correct change. She then started to rummage through the trash at old receipts. So ridiculous and unprofessional and dishonest! They are definitely trying to scam you. DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT! I will be contacting corporate!

Horrible, stay away from this restaurant. I got food toxic after having club sandwich in Denny's. I have been to hospital on the same day. the food itself is dry and under-cook. The worst restaurant service I've ever had in my whole life. NO ONE serve of you. You MUST raise your hand for help, and they'll say wait a second and keep waiting until you get mad. The whole experience for entering for the seat, ordering for drinks/food, and until paying my bill. You are expect to wait extra 15 minutes to wait. Since unfriendly service and worst service of this restaurant, I'd like to give negative star if so. asking my insurance company to claim my bill now. What a horrible thanksgiving break experience!

Denny’s is usually a great place for safe food when we travel. With the same expectation, we had dinner at this restaurant. Unfortunately, both my wife and I experienced serious stomach issues after eating the veggie-loaded dishes from this location. I cannot recommend this place to anyone, as the food quality was very poor. I hope this review helps improve their standards so no one else has to go through the same bad experience we did.

Should have swerved as soon as I seen the lady at the desk chowing down right in plain view of the patrons Ahh Dennys, what a strange place. You can sit down and knock back coffee all evening and only pay for it once but the employees act like it’s sacrilege if you ask for an extra coffee when you order to go because your going to be up all night and you’ll need the extra java and don’t have time to dine in I order a milkshake to go and what do ya know? Unlike the size of the glass you’d get when you dine in they put it in the smallest little party cup for 5 yr olds I’ve ever seen! Ah yes 5.99$ for that. I ask the woman I’ve been sitting and watching eat more than the customers and she says something along the lines of “we don’t have that size” I’ll be calling corporate and complaining to them if they are in fact responsible for Punishing you for ordering to go by implementing these kid size cups for adults!

Went to get breakfast today and we were sat down and didn’t get attended for like 30 minutes. The table next to us got helped first and they got their after us and I stopped the server and asked if she was our server and she said no I will send you our server and waited for 20 minutes more and no one came their was like 6 serves and not one stopped by so we left. Super rude and messed up. Servers need to do better and management needs to work on that.

Slow. Bad slow service over all. When we got to paid with cash. Our server told us we have to wait half an hour. The only power that person had. After waiting then she was able to open the register. Definitely get new employees.

Food was nasty. The waiter Lorena was rude. I'll never go to this Denny again 37.00 down the drain pan cakes were 🤢. Only thing that was good was the hash browns. Low class Denny's in redwood city. I probably would have done better at the Jake in the box which is right across from the parking lot. Terrible restaurant. I know I'm not the only one that feels this way bout this place.
