We came in after kayaking under a light drizzle for a treat. The hot chocolate was delightful, the brownie as delicious, and the atmosphere so cozy and warm!
The owner could not have been more friendly or accommodating! The gelato (tiramisu) and pastry we chose (forest fruit tart) were absolutely delicious, but it was the owner’s helpfulness and demeanor that makes this place a winner!
Everything was yummy - I got the pistachio almond gelato (couldn't resist even though it was cold out), a spinach and chicken empanada, and an alfajor. These are the best Argentinean empanadas and alfajor I've had and the place is really cute.
Excellent Empanadas! Mate and icecream! The owners are so kind and always giving you a warm welcome! Delicious sweet things but if you have never taste Argentinian good, empanadas is a must. For more braver drink Mate! I highly recommend this place.
So lovely! The chicken empanadas were delicious and perfect after hiking! Loved the Tres leches too ❤️
What a great place! This is a café run by a husband and wife who embody heart and love as anybody can see when he or she enters this small café. Everything is homemade and clearly made with love. The empanadas are delicious! I also had a cup of strawberry gelato which was absolutely decadent. This is not some phony, froufrou café that seem to embody Cold Spring. Rincon Argentino is authentic, friendly, affordable, and a little café run with heart & soul.
The town was busy with Halloween going on and we couldn't get into any restaurants. This place was almost out of stock but we got the last empanadas. They were excellent, and very tasty. Recommended
The cutest, really good chimichurri and empanadas
Absolutely lovely place with great service. Feels like home. Tres leches is a must!
My family and I stumbled upon this adorable cafe and so glad we did! The coffee, hot apple cider, empanadas and gelato were delicious and authentic! it was the perfect cozy little spot to reenergize after our hike! We also grabbed a coffee the next morning to take to the river waterfront, which is right down the street. The owners were lovely and i'll be sure to visit everytime I go back to Cold Spring!
Wish I waited for more empanadas... I left with three, but I wish I left with 12! I'm Bolivian, our empanadas are similar to Argentinian empanadas... let me tell you, these are spectacular. The avocado sauce and hot sauce on the side are also both excellent. Doesn't hurt that it's some of the most friendly and hospitable service around! 5 stars to this gem in Cold Spring!
A family-owned shop run by a very kind and genuine couple. The empanadas are authentically Argentine and the best I’ve had (including in Argentina), plus they have maté to go with them! They also make a perfect Tres Leches cake. We’ll be back every time we’re in Cold Spring!
Café Rincon Argentino is the BEST! Marcos y Ramona are excellent hosts - friendly, warm, and inviting. The coffee is delicious and the pastries stand out. Ice cream also. The only problem you will ever have here is if they run out of empanadas 😊
I’m from Argentina (Villa Carlos Paz, Córdoba) the attention to detail inside is incredible. My wife can’t stop talking about going there. I felt so welcomed when I was there. The owners definitely took a part of Argentina and brought it here. The empanadas are truly authentic and brought back childhood memories. The espresso was so good. The gelato was on point and plentiful. Thank you Marco’s and Ramona for bringing Argentina here and bringing back wonderful memories.
This place is a hidden get in the last little corner of Cold Spring. It's so worth the little extra walk. The empanadas, the alfajores, the mate. The couple who owns the place are very welcoming and friendly. All around, a really nice place.
Such a sweet little coffee shop. Located in the lower section of cold springs main street. Owned and operated by a sweet Arengtinian Husband and wife. Everything they serve is made with love. Great coffee, great beverages, great pastries, and great gelato. The hospitality is wonderfully inside quaint seating and outside garden seating as well as side walk seating available in the warm months. Grabb a cup and take a nice mellow stroll down the water in Cold Spring.
We came to Rincon Argentino on a rainy day, at 18:01, a minute after the owner have finished to closed it. He was extremely nice, and accepted us anyway. Great coffee and cake, thank you!
Their products are amazing!!! The gelato taste like heaven. The alfajores are out of this world, tase like real alfajores. The prices are super cheep and the atmosphere is very fun. I’m sorry, mo moos ice cream- but this is how ice cream/ gelato should taste like!
Great coffee and amazing pastries! Their pistachio cake was rich and delicate. Family run too, and very courteous.
A great little coffee spot for coffee and cake, or lunch. Order a cafe cortado and a piece of cake or a pastry. The lemon cello cake is delicious. The empanadas are very good. Lots of ice cream and Gelato choices too.
Lovely place to stop by before you start hiking. The owner is very friendly and attentive. The alfajor is delicious!!
Worth going to Cold Spring for - by car or train! Lovely small village with many beautiful sights. But Cafe Rincon is perhaps the best place of all. A touch of old Argentina - great coffee, gelato, cakes, empanadas and more. Sit, eat, drink and watch the world go by. We always visit when in Cold Spring. Nice family people too!
Friendly staff, great food! Located in a town full of antique shops, this is a hidden gem a short walk before the water. They have empanadas which are delicious - broccoli, beef, chicken and spinach typically. Don’t forget to try some of their desserts as well, you won’t regret it.
The service is great. It's a small family rin business and the people are so friendly. The empanadas are delicious. I haven't tried the Gelato yet. The homemade drinks are refreshing and delicious also. Every time we go to cold spring we eat there.
Situated on the western side of the railroad tracks lies a charming and inviting café, providing both indoor and outdoor seating for patrons to enjoy. The café offers a delightful array of beverages, including cappuccinos, espressos, gelato, and an assortment of freshly baked goods and breads. However, what truly sets this establishment apart is their delectable empanadas, which, in my opinion, are the most flavorful I've tasted in quite some time. It's worth noting that empanadas are the only warm dish served here. While the seating options may be limited and the décor may be minimalistic, the café's distinctive Argentinean flair adds a unique touch to the overall ambiance. Undoubtedly, this café has become a cherished addition to the neighborhood, offering a tranquil spot to savor a quiet bite or engage in leisurely conversations.
A must-go cafe if you're in Cold Spring! The food is spectacular and the owners were so nice, and its location is right by the water overlooking the mountains. We had empanadas every day we were in Cold Spring, and their gelato is absolutely phenomenal!
The Empanadas here are top notch. Always surprise me with different kinds. Quick on the go meal or sit down outside. Take it down to the dock and sit on the river. I try to go to different places, but when you know the food is good for a good price why go anywhere else!
Best gelato, and their coffee and cakes and empanadas are good too. Always friendly, love the decor, we sometimes come thru Cold Springs just to stop here for refreshments, and it's consistently been the best part of many trips!
The staff are so friendly and accommodating, but even if they were rude I would come back for the empanadas! Every flavor is delicious! I'm also impressed with how inexpensive everything on their menu is. If you're in Coldspring you owe it to yourself to stop at Rincon.
Made a stop here and it was exactly what we needed. Such a cute place and the empanadas were delicious. The owners were the sweetest and most welcoming people. I will definitely make a pit stop next time I am back in town.
Amazing empanadas! Adorable little gelato shop. From what I remember, they have nice staff and a beautiful landscape across the Hudson River. Cold Spring is small, but sweet and peaceful.
This place is the best. Best cortunado- most other places make it too bitter. Best empanadas - flavorful, fresh, and not greasy. The outdoor seating is lovely and right near the train station for commuters. Plus, whoever plays the piano is amazing. Come here people!!!!!
Perfect spot for lunch or desert. Savories are so good and the cakes are the best I've had in a long time. Delicious coffee. Everything, really. Relaxed atmosphere and very nice owners. Nicer than anything in my town
Best Tres Leeches cake in town!
This is such a great place to stop at for a pre-hike snack & coffee. The empanadas are delicious!! Better than most of the places in NYC, and the choripan, and the Parisian style baked treats are worth trying. The coffee is good, and I'm definitely returning later. The husband and wife owners are super sweet and friendly.
Delicious empanadas and hot apple cider from a lovely, warm pair of Argentinian hosts. The atmosphere is cosy, comfy and pretty, with plenty of seating. A huge selection of stunning desserts for the sweet tooth to indulge in too. We felt very welcome and were very happy to have stumbled past here and visited. Thank you!
Was blown away that there is an Argentine spot near breakneck ridge after many years of hiking!!! The empanadas are so good. Not sure I’ll have the alfajor again but definitely want to try the other postres.
Best empanada I've ever had (chicken.) Seasoned perfectly and not to crispy. The baked goods looked amazing, the gelato is also great, and the owner is so sweet!
Amazing charming little spot, I would give it ten stars if I could. The empanadas and pastries are delicious, the coffees, especially the espresso, soooo good. The location is perfect with a surprising number of tables and chairs set up outside to relax on a lovely corner, but what I enjoyed most of all was meeting owners Marco and Ramona who are super friendly people with a beautiful American dream story to tell if you ask. I am so happy to be able to support such a beautiful thriving business. Marco y Ramona, felicidades y bendiciones para siempre ❤️
Very nice place and welcoming service. A must go when in Cold Spring. We had Gelato in a hot summer day and it was amazing. Other desserts and empanadas also looked delicious.
Great Latin food, great environment, wonderful staff. I like the cash payment option there, discount on the bill
Cute little shop! Real argentine empanadas and the best alfajores. They are a really sweet family ready to help you leave happy and satisfied. After we enjoyed the meal. We told them we wanted to take home a dozen empanadas, they suggested to give us the empanadas ready to bake at home so we'd taste some fresh ones every time. How sweet of them! They won me as a customer!!!!
A perfect casual spot to get some snacks after hiking! It's close to the train station like 5 minutes walking distance!
What an awesome little surprise. I walked in here looking for an empanada and walked out with so much more. The owners are welcoming and make you feel right at home. The array of sweets is incredible. The espresso was on point and the broccoli empanada was so good. Will visit again next time we are in Cold Spring.
I LOVE THIS PLACE! They were Sooooo friendly. I had a double espresso and a raspberry crumb cake which was phenomenal! So many different treats, I had a hard time deciding. I sat outside in a shady spot and it was like heaven! The price was right. Very clean also. The restroom was spotless. Very important to me. ALL AROUND, FANTASTIC!
Such great empanadas!!! The crust is light and well baked, not greasy at all. I went on a Sunday afternoon and they only had spinach left - they were delicious, warm pockets of goodness.
I love a goooood alfajor and their alfajores are soooo DELICIOUS! Definitely stop by here for some great dessert options!!
Delicious, best empanada in the area. Delicious coffee and dessert too. Authentic freshly made every day. A must stop when in the beautiful town of Cold Springs. Very inexpensive, but great quality. Love, love love this place. It's my go to eatery when in Cold Spring. Never disappoints
If I could give 50 stars I would. How did I not know about this gem?? I’ve passed it a hundred times yet had either eaten already or was going elsewhere. Not this time- The owner, Marco, greeted us with true love and passion for what he does He told us the story of the restaurant’s humble beginnings, and how hard work and dedication created a true American dream. Now the food- the empanadas are better than any other restaurant I’ve been to including out of country. The tres leches cake was the greatest dessert of any I’ve ever had. I’m only asking you try it. You will be blown away. You’ll probably come back like we did.
We ordered empanadas and coffee. The spinach empanada was a delicate version of spanakopita, less greasy and more flavorful. The beef empanada was flavored with olives and an egg, simply delish! We had one double and one single cortado, both smooth yet bold. Add the atmosphere and the friendly service to the food, and this place is amazing.
Rincon Argentino is a quaint, family owned and operated, little place down by the river. It was established approximately three years ago. They serve home made ice cream, several stuffings of empanadas. Wonderful deserts, and more... They also have a lemonade and mate stand outdoors with seating both indoors and outdoors.
What a heartful place in the small town of Cold Spring! The empanadas(chicken and beef) caught my eye, and even I returned back for more. The owners of this cafe are the warmest people I met, and the lady bakes the empanadas fresh. You can’t just have one. Ordered a hot chocolate and spent some time in the small covered area, very relaxing and cozy. Would recommend as a must visit if you are passing by Cold Spring.
I was looking for public restrooms to avoid the long queue at the station, I bought a really tasty coffee to use their restrooms that are for customers only. I recommend going there for the coffee, they offer pastries and empanadas too. Cool music as well
Rincon Argentino is a very nice spot for lunch after our short hikes. The dinning tables outside were very comfortable and offered wonderful views. It’s very colorful outside in a sunny and quiet afternoon. The beef and chicken empanadas were both tasty. The tiramisu cake was decent. The staff were very friendly.
A warm spot on lower Main Street in Cold Spring, Ricon Argentino, is turning out delicious chicken and beef empanadas, homemade gelato pastries, and a variety of great coffee and expresso drinks too. There are two tables inside and a few tables outside, including a cozy spot set back from the sidewalk. Well worth the wait!
Delicious spinach empanadas & fresh herb sauce. Super nice staff. Authentic atmosphere with great music. 10/10!
Unexpected, inviting pastry and baked good cafe on the way to the Cold Springs waterfront. We bought several pastries (Alfajores, Cookies, Lemon Cake and Flan) everything was absolutely delicious! If you're getting on/off the train in the Cold Springs station, be sure to allow a few extra minutes and head over. It's just at the top of the stairs on the Hudson River side of the tracks.
This is one of our favorite spots to go to when we visit Cold Spring. They always have a variety of tasty sweets and the owners are generally very friendly. PROTIP: There is typically plenty of parking on this side of the train tracks when visiting Cold Spring. So rather than circle around on the other side looking for parking, come straight here and find parking galore.
Really great spot for a satisfying quick bite! They have everything you need for a hot day out in Cold Spring: empanadas (beef, chicken, spinach and maybe chorizo), ice maté and gelato & alfajores. They sell cakes by the slice as well. So glad i found this spot. Can't wait to go back :)
This is a nice bakery serving some delicious empanadas of different fillings. The breads and pastries are also very tasty fresh. They serve soups but I didn't try them and pizza, which I did try and I must warn you to stay away from it. The pizzas don't even deserve to be called that, they are very bad. Hopefully they improve them or stop selling them. Everything else is very good, especially their service and attention.
Came to try out the empanadas here. It’s $4 each. We got the beef and chicken ones. It’s good and there’s seasoning in the meat. The crust is thin and soft. Not a big fan of the dipping sauce cause it has that balsamic vinegar taste. Love the lemon sorbet they have. The tiramisu flavor is like caramel flavor with coffee cake pieces in it. The place does take payment in card, but must reach a minimum.
Quaint atmosphere for a quick bite and a place to stay warm while you wait for the train. The owners are very warm and kind. Not many gluten free options but the sweets and empanadas looked great. We went for tea and coffee and they had a great selection to choose from. Will be back for the $1 lemonade.
The food was good, but when I went there the person at the counter forced me to leave a 20% tip. He told me the price, I handed him my card and he hit 20% while holding the machine the whole time. The price he told me was before the tip, so he was just being sneaky and hoping I wouldn't see him do it. I didn't even dine in. I walked in to buy something then left. It was incredibly rude and I'll be taking my business elsewhere in the future
Stopped in here for lunch ....Big Mistake-> I ordered a beef empanada (which looked and tasted like it had been sitting of out for several days), chicken noodle soup (tasted so sour, I think it must have been from a can from WW1 rations), and a $6.50 ham sandwich (that's only ingredients were wonder bread with the crusts cut off, mayonnaise, and ham). I'm sure the coffee and the desserts are fine, but the lunch menu was atrocious.
I used to love coming here for truly authentic Argentinean empanadas. The place was warm and inviting, not just because of the friendly staff, but because it felt like stepping right into Argentina. The walls were covered with Argentinean memorabilia, tango music played softly in the background, and the atmosphere, along with the delicious food, made it something special. It was more than just a café — it was an experience, a little slice of Buenos Aires tucked into Cold Spring. Sadly, after the original owner sold the business, everything that made this place unique began to fade. The charming décor disappeared, the layout was rearranged in a way that lost its cozy appeal, and the tango music was replaced by something more generic. Even the empanadas, while still decent, no longer had that exceptional, homemade touch they once did. Now it feels like just another coffee shop that happens to serve empanadas — a far cry from what it used to be. It’s a real shame. Visiting this café was one of the main reasons I made the trip up from the city, alongside enjoying the beautiful landscape of Cold Spring. Unfortunately, without its original spirit, I don’t see myself coming back as often.
The most sloppy barista ever! They have pre-made espresso shots under portafilter. For Americano, they STEAM THE HELL OUT OF THE SHOT TO MAKE AMERICANO with foam!! It's not a fresh creamy shot and hot water. Of course it was a bitter burned Americano with 1/4" foam!! The same story for the latte. Such a shame for a local cute coffee shop!
Don’t come here unless you wanna be met with a hostile environment. Owner condescending, rude, and rolls his eyes because customers who already bought something used the bathroom without asking. If he wants everyone to raise their hand and ask for permission to use the bathroom maybe he should be an elementary school teacher so he can police that. Oh and don’t eat the tres leches cake all the ones in the display have visible dust and lint on them, which is apparently disrespectful to point out to him as well 😂
I had been a costumer of this place for years enjoying the quality of products and the warmth of his owners from Rosario,Argentina. I was there 3 weeks ago and very disappointed by lack of Argentinian products and its quality..
