Best burritos you'll ever have! Been going here since I was a kid, and after travelling up and down the bay area, no place compares to El Faro! Nothing beats freshly made, right in front of your face!
I came to uhual for some services that would take hours. I googled restaurants near Me and I was directed right opposite uhual. I was really hungry and once I had My first taste of the meal I just couldn't stop. I was done eating before I recollected I was suppose to take photos🙈 I took a photo of the receipt incase You were wondering about the meal and the price since I can already vaught for its taste😁 God I even had a beer 🍺😆 I know I'd be back here again soon.
Loved this place forever. Still good and prices aren't bad either.
Our favorite Mexican restaurant since I was a little kid. Hugo and his staff are amazing!
My Favorite! Tacos Al Pastor :) We always order a few times a year for employee lunch!
I love this location. I makes me feel good and that I’m lessened to.
Editing my previous review. After going back many times, El Faro's in Concord has been consistently excellent. Their chips, salsa, chicken burritos, and service has been flawless. I ordered online, and they were ready for me. Excellent restaurant, best breakfast burritos I've had in this area, fantastic boiled red sauce chicken (far better than everyone else in this entire region), and fantastic service. Great people and great food.
Really love catering from El Faro. It is a consistent crowd pleaser for us and great value for the price. Appreciate them making my life so much easier when hosting people :)
I love their chorizo burritos. They’re the best around.
The Shrimp Burrito is my go to at El Faro. Shrimp, bell peppers, onions, rice, and cheese… add some hot salsa, and everything tastes great!
If you don't try the Quesabirria tacos you are wasting your life away. This place is always straight fire, fast, easy and authentic.
They always get my order right and my food is always on point. When Im in town... I stop here

I was raised in San Francisco and used to visit El Faro frequently in the Mission Dist. There's just something about the vibe and food that tastes better at SF location than Concord. Concords location has no air conditioning so prepare to take out
Jan 2025. Ordered through their website, which launched recently for online ordering. This is a great choice, as it kept me from waiting after placing a walk up order with the kitchen staff. Order was accurate and for quickly prepared food, our burritos, fajita plates, were prepared, as expected. I prefer their mild crushed salsa and their hot/picante salsa doesn't hit.

Service and food are good, but it's past time to update the interior and exterior..

I love this place I've been going here for years. They have fast service and also very friendly people who work there. Great prices an amazing food! I highly recommend going to this place! Very small place that packs a powerful punch! Update September 21st 2021. Unfortunately I took it down two stars because of their service is so slow and unreliable it is frustrating! You are a delivery person today is really unorganized with the process and frustrating to try to make delivery for them.
People here are so sweet and give quick and awesome service. Being from Sacramento I'm a little spoiled with more traditional plates that taste like Grandma's kitchen in Guadalajara. Food is hot and fresh and hits the spot if you are starving. Menudo on salty side, but honeycomb tripe and pata tasted great.

The positives are my dinner was prepared very fast and the burrito was large. The negatives are the employees had scowls on their faces and were not friendly at all, the upholstered bench was very worn out and uncomfortable, and the amount I was charged did not make sense. I ordered a monument burrito that their menu says is $10.70 and a Jarrito soda which had no price posted, but should be about $3.00. Even if the soda was $4.00, the total should have been 14.70 plus tax. They charged me $18.01. Their pricing was not transparent and I fee they took liberties with what they charged me. Basically ripped me off. I will not go to this business again.

My lunch at El Faro was one to forget, my fish tacos were super hot (temperature wise) and consisted of a stale soft taco tortilla and a smidge of lettuce. A pity. Across the table a burrito did not look appealing either. It was sent back unfinished. I am not an expert in Mexican food but I can say that El Faro has no business pretending to offer some.
Much better options in the area, hard pass here. A few problems with this place - nowhere to eat, high prices, debit card tax, and poor food quality. Need I say more? I will. Nowhere to eat - When I visited last week they had the dining area closed. Disappointment, but I ordered anyway. Figured I'd eat outside. No such luck. Plenty of great areas outdoors for a few tables but nothing. Sat on a dirty uncomfortable planter edge and ate. High prices - Why are prices here 20% higher than comparable Bay Area Mexican food? ~$10 for a super burrito? Debit card tax - Wow, they add a surcharge of 3.5% for a debit card, so let's make that 23.5% higher than comparable Bay Area Mexican food! So the price posted on the menu is not accurate. This is actually a violation of their merchant agreement and should be reported to Visa or MC. Credit cards are okay for a surcharge but not debit cards. Poor food quality - I ordered a carnitas super burrito, and unfortunately only the price was super (expensive). Just tasted like watery beans. How do you make pork flavorless? They also forgot sour cream. My spouse got carnitas super nachos and those were not so super. Thanks for the total of three jalapeños by the way, sadly we dropped one on the ground while trying to balance on the planters outside eating. Never again. El Farolito is my goto standard and while similar in name, this place stinks!
Bought Chicken Fajita Burrito, very disappointed, loaded of onions and very little over cooked chicken(see photo beliow). I even threw most of onions away so I decided to take a picture.

One of the worst burritos I’ve had in the east bay. I got the chicken super burrito (probably my fault for getting chicken but whatever) and the chicken was BOILED??? and flavorless as hell. Not only that, it was super grisly and full of cartilage. I couldn’t find any guacamole in there too. Incredibly disappointing burrito and the cashier overcharged me too (said the total was $12 and change but my card was charged over $13). The good points: the beans and salsa were very good. But never again. Go to literally any other taqueria around.
One of the worst mexican places I ever been, food is bad service its worst and the place not good at all! I'm from San Francisco and there's other El faro or el farolito in San Francisco, I really though this one was going to be the same as the other ones in San Francisco but what a surprise it's the worst I been so far! Really hope the owner get to read this post and does something about it!
