A friend introduced me to the spot... hands down the best latte I've ever had! Atmosphere was just as delightful - cozy, greenery everywhere, perfect spot to meet a friend, have a business meeting (somewhat informally obviously), or bring your laptop & get some work done. The staff was warm and welcoming, adding to the overall experience. If you're a coffee lover, this place is a must-visit. Can't wait to come back.
At the risk of sharing too much, my first love of coffee came at Peet’s on Locust. I spent at least an hour there every day (with Gustaf) and, over the years, I could be considered the mayor of Peet’s. But the pandemic changed everything and I quit going every day, plus I’ve always wished for a more local coffee experience. Enter Tellus. I’ve been a few times and along with good food and good coffee, the service is excellent. The ambiance is fabulous and I thoroughly enjoy coming here. And of course, I’ve run into other former Peet’s customers who have all discovered this place too. Michael Delehanty Compass Real Estate
When are the other reviews said that they are bar none one of the best lattes around. Let’s just generalize and say one of the best cafes around. Tellus is def in its own tier of excellence combining aesthetic, spaciousness, quality drinks, fresh baked goods from Starter (btw all of which were VERY difficult to chose from) and personalized customer service. Super friendly barista. I asked her name but forgot it 😬😅. They even have a little parklet outside for folks who prefer the fresh air/don’t want to be inside. I wish they’d be closer to SJ or would consider opening a location. For those coming down that way, try Voltaire in downtown or Voyager closer to the west side. Cheers!
Love this place. The vibe is fantastic, with excellent decor. My coffee (hot flat white) was great. Only regret was that I forgot to buy a bag of coffee beans before I left
I stopped by to grab a quick bite & coffee. On a Sunday morning, before 10:30, the place was packed. Very busy. I got empanadas and an ice latte. The empanadas were very yummy, especially the mushroom. I wish there were more sauce options besides chimichuri, but otherwise the food was nearly perfect. The coffee was good, very smooth. The service was fantastic. I had a little issue with my google wallet, and the cashier was so patient and kind. The vibes are cute too, it just might be hard to find somewhere to sit. I'll definitely be back.
Super cute coffee shop. Stopped by for a break during my long walk and ordered the Athena juice drink. The space is cozy and inviting, and the staff was incredibly kind and attentive. I had a quick chat with the manager about a small restroom issue I noticed, and she was so sweet about it! It’s rare to experience that level of hospitality. Looking forward to coming back soon. ❤️
One of the best coffee shops in the Walnut Creek area. The inside was awesome vibes, hella green plants and uplifting music. The staff all seemed very nice too. Got the steak and the mushroom empanadas, breakfast sandwich, and an iced cardamom latte and found the steak empanada and the latte to be the best of the bunch. Also got the Althea juice which very refreshing. The chimichurri sauce that the empanadas come is some of the best that I’ve ever had. I think that to get the full experience at This coffee shop you should definitely plan to have your coffee / food for dine in, it’s worth it.
This is one of the best spots I’ve been to! The mango matcha was amazing. The overnight oats, empanadas, and avocado toast were really great as well. If I lived in the area, I’d be here every day! Lots of vegan options.
I love cozying up here with an amazing cup of coffee. Super friendly staff with a great vibe for getting some work down. I really love the plant wall, really curious how they maintain that haha. Food is solid as well but the coffee is the real show. Their holiday varieties are my favorite.
Lots of seating and delicious coffee! I also had a breakfast sandwhich that was amazing! Loved the vibe here and area to hangout with the kids.
This is my new favorite coffee place! 😍 I can't believe I had not visited this spot. They have delicious pastries, delicious coffee, lovely ambiance and clean facilities. Customer service is great. They have indoor shared and individual seating as well as s cute little space outdoors. You must try it!!! Keep in mind it's Walnut Creek, so parking is off of the street or in the public parking buildings.
Wow 10 out of 10. Tried it for the first time and I’m so impressed by how good their food was. I had a chicken empanada and a coconut chia seed pudding. Sometimes I’m running late and need a quick bite and this place is perfect and so versatile. They don’t only sell coffee they have such great healthy choices for brunch, and breakfast which is amazing for me considering I have a very sensitive stomach. Their drinks and food are very high quality.
MUST SEE!, The wall of plants with the brick and green decor makes you feel like you are in a cool artsy Chicago or Singapore cafe. This is where the elite WC professionals meet for coffee plus students and diverse groups of women for chats. …..Nice sunny front area, nice student area and wonderful hidden lounge area in back for private deal making. Love the staff. Please be respectful. 🎶🎶🫶🎶🎶
Bright, airy, open with high ceilings. Great place to get artisan lattes. There is a seasonal coffee menu with flavored lattes (hot or cold) to choose from. Rose latte and Pistachio latte are excellent options. Tellus Coffee also sells “poured coffees.” In dining, you can have your latte served in a ceramic mug. Great place to meet a friend or work (free 2 hr wifi). There is a wall of house plants and a back room if you want a quiet place to work. Great selection of yummy baked goods and pastries. There is also outdoor cafe seating too out front.
One of the most amazing and curious cafe in Walnut Creek. Loved my 2% latte, the Venus latte is the most beautiful thing. The croissant is amazing, and awesome service as well. This is as perfect as you would like your neighborhood cafe to be. There is also an outdoor seating space with green walls and chairs which is great for some outdoor experience although we were able to sit inside. We’ll be back.
This very cute and cozy place filled with plants and natural lighting is now my Top #1 coffee shop/place to study and get work done. It has a modern and rustic feel with current popular songs playing. I’m on a quest to find the best coffee shops to study and get work done. This spot is very popular. It is spacious and very instagrammable. I got a latte macchiato and steak empanada (been craving for empanadas for days). Everything was perfect. WiFi and outlets are available. The staff members were patient and friendly. I love this place and will definitely be my go-to coffee shop. 🥰

I’ve been going to Tellus since 2021. While the menu changes year to year, they consistently offer tasty drinks and food. Their stunning plant wall brings a relaxing ambience and something lovely to look at while waiting. I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know the staff over the years and I’ve always enjoyed their service and care. As someone who has experienced working in customer service, and was in the coffee shop today, I admire the team for doing their best dealing with customers that lack awareness and patience. Highly recommend the orange cardamom latte or butterscotch latte!
Love the lavender latte! The staff are always kind and in a great mood. Decor is beautiful. Only wish they they more seating and extended hours.

Thoughtfully sourced, expertly brewed, and clearly made by people who care about quality. Whether you’re grabbing a quick espresso or settling in with a latte, it’s the kind of coffee you remember and come back for. The staff deserves a shoutout too. Friendly, welcoming, and genuinely kind without feeling forced. You’re greeted like a regular even on your first visit, and they’re always happy to help you find something new or tailor a drink to your taste. The atmosphere strikes that rare balance between cozy and modern. It’s warm, well designed, and inviting. Perfect for catching up with a friend, getting some work done, or just enjoying a quiet moment with a great cup of coffee. And don’t skip the food. The assortment is thoughtfully curated with something for everyone, from fresh pastries to savory options that actually feel satisfying, not like an afterthought. Tellus feels like a true neighborhood coffee shop. High quality, welcoming, and done with care. Highly recommend.

Tellus Coffee in Walnut Creek is a haven for both eco-warriors and caffeine fiends! Walking in, you're greeted by a wave of positivity – lush greenery cascades down the walls, creating a vibrant, almost jungle-like atmosphere. It's the perfect spot to sip your way through their creative menu. My personal go-to is the "Acai You Later" – a tropical masterpiece that bursts with acai, berries, and a hint of coconut milk. It's refreshing, energizing, and the perfect guilt-free indulgence. Tellus somehow manages to be both trendy and eco-conscious, making it a win-win for both your taste buds and the planet. If you're looking for a vibrant space with coffee that tastes as good as it looks, Tellus Coffee is your new Walnut Creek must-visit!
Okay let’s get the positives out of the way, this place serves really good specialty drinks (didn’t get coffee). My gf and I got a white chocolate mocha and a strawberry matcha latte respectively. The interior is really nice: great color scheme, huge plant wall, and a more intimate backroom. However, I don’t know if it’s because we came on a weekday, but the vibes were kinda off. Pretty much everyone there was meeting for business or working remotely. It all just felt so serious. To be fair, it’s just the crowd that the place attracts and not the place itself.
This cafe has a nice, calming atmosphere with a really cool plant wall. I liked the plants and black, white, industrial meets greenhouse look. I enjoyed my flat white in a comfy velvet chair that allowed me to people watch and rest my feet. Nice! Cons: crayons and crumbs leftover on the seats and tables. Needs more attention to cleanliness.
Updated review on 3/3/2024 - adding new pix. Flavors lean towards Italian style of espresso with deep, toasted arabica notes. Since my prior review I have visited a few times and the quality while good has not been consistent. I hope the very kind owner who I met on a prior visit is there next time. Pro tip: buy an extra cortado and pour over vanilla ice cream when you get home. Original review of 7/29/2023 below: Delightful establishment for enjoying quality coffee drinks and light food in clean upscale setting. Not sure what took me so long to visit Tellus and glad my wife drove us there. The interior is clean, nicely decorated and above all welcoming. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Breakfast light plates are tasty, healthy and quickly served. Many tables available in the main space with views inside and to the street. There is a quiet back room with soft lighting for more intimate conversation, which made our experience feel like a date. The room can also provide a nice break from busy day shopping, especially if hot. The lattes and cappuccino exhibited strong coffee notes with good crema. I have visited several times and the quality is good. Street parking is a challenge on most days. Do not let that discourage you from visiting - just plan to spend extra time enjoying the special atmosphere which warrants a 5 star rating.
Such an adorable place! I was in Concord and was headed to the airport but needed coffee and a pastry! I got a medium cold brew (Ethiopian beans!) and was able to add my own Oat Milk, just like you would with Half and half at NO EXTRA CHARGE!! That right there is a HUGE win!! Then I got a White Peach Scone with Streusel crumbles on top!! Never had a white peach scones, but this was outstanding! I honestly wish I bought more just so my friend could try them. The atmosphere was cozy and green! Loved the sign on the wall and could picture myself visiting for a good amount of time. I have this place book marked for when I’m back visiting friends.

It’s a decent coffee place in one of the oldest historic buildings of Walnut Creek. The issue with this place is that it’s close to impossible to get seats. People just sit there with one drink and a laptop for hours taking up all space. Tables for four almost always occupied by one selfish individual. Obviously there should be place for everyone and management is responsible to address this as at any other shops.
This is a really asthetic cafe with an additional room in the back to sit in. I got an iced coffee with burnt honey cinnamon syrup in it, and I personally didn’t like it, but that’s not one of their signature items. A small iced coffee was also $7, which is personally not worth it.
Tellus Coffee in Walnut Creek is a great spot for a quick bite and a caffeinated (or non-caffeinated) drink. We went on a Saturday morning, and it was bustling! The place has a welcoming vibe with a ton of natural light and a cool wall featuring real plants. Service was speedy, which is a big plus on a busy weekend. They offer a wide variety of options beyond just coffee, including smoothies, juices, pastries, light lunch options, and, of course, coffee and tea drinks. I tried their iced chai, but unfortunately, it was a bit of a letdown. It tasted quite watered down, and the spices were overpowering. It just wasn't very balanced. However, the chicken empanada was a total win! The crust was perfectly crispy and light, and the filling was delicious and flavorful. The chimichurri sauce on the side added a nice touch. It's definitely a bit pricy for a cafe, and the drinks and food can be hit-or-miss. My friend loved her bacon onion pretzel croissant but wasn't a fan of the iced tea. One thing to keep in mind is the seating layout. There are two main sections, but there's a smaller one that's kind of tucked away near the restrooms. You might miss it entirely if you're not heading in that direction. Overall, Tellus Coffee gets 3.5 stars from me. The food is tasty, the service is fast, and the atmosphere is inviting. However, the drink selection could be a bit more consistent. I'd definitely go back for another empanada.
Tellus seemed like a promising coffee shop in the downtown Walnut Creek area but I wasn’t too impressed and thought it was just average. The service inside was kind of slow and a little messy behind the counter. Likewise the cappuccino I ordered was ok but nothing too amazing compared to some other brews I tried around. The inside had lots of working space and even a lounge in the back though it smelled like someone was smoking back there when I visited. I would pass on this spot next time.

matcha powder quality was bad. tastes almost bitter. the preparation was correct, it wasn’t powdery or clumpy but the powder itself wasn’t good quality. the place itself is overpriced and the food was good, but not worth the money. i don’t think we’d be back. $8 matcha latte is absurd
I came to this café with my daughter, hoping to enjoy some quality time and a good meal for here. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. I specifically asked for my cortado in a for-here cup (cortado is not a drink you can enjoy in a paper cup, and I clearly explained it placing my order) Still, after waiting 20 minutes, it was served in a paper cup. When I reminded them they said: oh yes, I did it by mistake but if you want me to make it again you’d have to wait until all other costumers are served. No apologies, very dismissive and disrespectful. I also ordered my food to dine in, but it was served in a to-go container. When I brought it up, the staff responded they were out of plates, however the next person received their order in plates. I understand mistakes happen, but when a customer brings it up, I expect a more considerate response. The food itself was acceptable, but the service made the visit feel less welcoming than I had hoped.

Today I visited Telus Coffee with my friend and ordered a chai latte for the very first time. Unfortunately, it turned into a very unpleasant and even dangerous experience. Shortly after drinking it, I developed a severe allergic reaction that caused my entire lip to swell badly. The reaction was so serious that I had to seek emergency care right away. I specifically asked for a chai latte, but what I received had unexpected spices or ingredients that I have never experienced in any chai latte before. I do not understand why such additives would be included without clear disclosure. Customers trust cafés to serve drinks that are safe and prepared with care, and this trust was completely broken for me today. It is extremely disappointing to walk into a coffee shop expecting to enjoy a simple cup of tea and instead leave with a medical emergency. This raises serious concerns about ingredient transparency, preparation methods, and overall attention to customer safety. I genuinely question how I can trust Telus Coffee in the future after such an incident. Clear communication of ingredients and proper handling should be non-negotiable in food and beverage service. Experiences like mine should never happen.
Light roast pourover tasted like burnt gas station coffee. People were nice. Fake green wally is tacky.
I don't leave negative reviews because I understand how much they can impact a small business, but this experience really disappointed me to the point that I took an hour out of my time to sign up on Yelp and write a review on yelp and on Google. I discovered Tellus about 4-5 months ago and have been coming almost every weekend for an açaí later smoothie and a breakfast sandwich. I genuinely enjoyed the place and even told friends and family about it. I also learned about their “buy 10 drinks, get one free” card and was happy to participate about three months ago. When I went in to purchase my 10th drink, I was told that as of January 1st they no longer honor the punch cards. While I understand policies can change, I asked if they could honor it since I was already on my 10th purchase and had been incentivized to continue buying with the promise of a free drink. I assumed the manager would understand, but unfortunately, he refused and said I still would need to buy my 10 cup to get a free one and we no longer are honoring it. What bothered me most is the principle. Over the last couple of months alone, I’ve spent roughly $25–$30 per visit sometimes more when bringing my wife and kids easily over $300 the past 10 visits. Refusing to honor a $6 drink to keep a loyal customer happy felt unnecessary and dismissive. It’s not about the money, but about trust and goodwill. The incentive encouraged continued business, and not honoring it left me feeling taken advantage of. It was a disappointing way to treat a regular customer who genuinely supported and promoted the business.

We waited 30 minutes for a cappuccino. We had to remind about our orders because we couldn’t wait any longer. The drinks were served in a to-go paper cup even though I asked for it to be served here. The table was dirty and no one cleaned it, so we had to move the dirty dishes ourselves to sit down. With better service and cleanliness, this place could be much more enjoyable.
The manager here is very aggressive and rude. I witnessed him berating an old lady over punch card expiration in front of everybody. He should be working here. He has no shame and no clue about customer service. I have seen him being rude to customers in so many other occasions. But this is it! Never coming back here and I’ll tell all my friends and family about this experience. He should go!!!!
