Tonight was our first visit here. We got the Curry Ramen extra spicy and the Char Sui pork Don. Both were 💯 delicious. And the strawberry refresher drink was great too. The only thing we didn't like was the spring roll appetizers. We can't wait to go back and try some other yummy looking dishes.
The food is easily 10/10. The mega pork bowl is by far the BEST ramen I’ve ever had. And the new kitty paw filled buns or whatever they are are amazing!!!
We had the katsudon and black mushroom ramen and while those were fantastic, the gyoza was incredible!
Mikoto did his thing with the food. I would like to meet him and tell him the food was good.
Random find for travelers that rely on Google for local "foodie-havens"..waiting list on a Saturday mid afternoon visit, we knew it must be a gold mine. Excellent noodles...delicious pork belly buns...freshly prepared and waited on by courteous friendly staff...We will definitely return if we visit the area again...
I’ve been searching for worthy ramen in the Rio Grande Valley in many restaurants and special events. Corpus is two and a half hours away from where I live but I will make the drive up to satisfy my taste buds. There menu is enough to have choices without being overwhelmed and their wait time at peak hours didn’t feel too long. Their service is quick and polite. 5 stars
Came down for vacation and found this treasure on Google maps. Ordered online and it was done super fast! Unfortunately for me my hotel was 20 min away so it was close to a 45 min drive to get food and come back. BUT they put the Ramen in separate bowls and it was still warm when I got back! Everything Was fantastic!!
Absolutely delicious! I ordered on door dash to be delivered at work. Packaging is everything and I was very pleased with the size of bowls they use for to go orders. The spicy pork ramen is delicious! I added the broth afterwards and forgot to take a picture with the broth and ramen together (packaged separately). But it was the perfect level of spicy with the amount of veggies and pork. I even enjoyed the generous serving of the side house salad.
Good food, relatively quick service. Think my waitress may have been new, she looked a little confused. Love the takoyaki.
Never been to this place of for so did know what to expect I was pleasantly surprised to find a really really nice Place that served the best Rahman I have ever tasted and Really pleasant atmosphere and really helpful and really friendly waiting staff top notch place if you've never Been here give it a chance I know your love it I know my wife and I did Definitely going back
The service and atmosphere were amazing from the moment we walked in. We kicked off with the pork buns and Takoyaki (featured in the second photo) as appetizers. The Tonkatsu don (first photo) was a standout dish, highly recommended. As for drinks, the peach tea was absolutely delightful—I had three glasses!
Kaitlyn the staff took care of my credit card safely when I forgot to take it after I paid my order at 1pm and got it back at 7pm. She did excellent customer service.
Me and a few friends went to the ramen spot to check it out I've never had it but they did. They recommended that I get the black garlic ramen but I ended up getting the miso pork ramen. Food is reasonably priced and there were a variety of options. Overall I definitely would like to come back.
This place was amazing!!!! I love ramen and I had the spicy pork ramen and to say it was perfect was an understatement the quality was way beyond 5 star the flavor is Michelin star quality and it has to be the best ramen I've had in all of Texas and its here in corpus Christi 50/10 will come here for sheer flavor and portion quality again and again
Very clean place. The food is always delicious and the staff is always friendly and accommodating. I’ve tried a variety of their ramen options and have yet to be disappointed but my favorites are Black Garlic Ramen, the Spicy Pork, and the Triple Pork. I usually get mochi for dessert as well. It’s usually a very chill and quiet vibe.
I wouldnt say, go to this place if you like Ramen. I would say go if you like amazing food. The bowls we ordered from seaweed to fried to the pork mega ramen is robust with flavors and texture. This reminds me of a Michelin rated restaurant I visited in the Los Angeles area. Incredible place, incredible service. And most importantly.. incredible food.
This place was great! I literally drove back into town from Austin and didn’t want to cook OR have fast food for dinner. This spot is just down the street from my house. I wanted something that hit the spot for deliciousness and authenticity. Being a foodie from San Diego where there are TONS of variety of Asian options that I miss dearly, I was in need of comfort food. Mikoto delivered just that. It’s definitely a gem in Corpus. We’ve been searching for a place that is reminiscent of home for me and I think I just found my new fave spot. My kids couldn’t slurp up their ramen or inhale their fried rice fast enough! Food: delicious. Atmosphere: on point. Service: refreshingly friendly and attentive. Definitely give this place a try, if you haven’t already. I can almost guarantee you won’t be disappointed…unless you lack taste buds and depth of any kind. In that case, there’s nothing for you here!💯
This place is the Best! Try an appetizer but best be hungry as the individual Ramen bowl is huge! Order an extra egg in your bowl. Wish they sold the broth with egg & scallions by itself but noodles are delish as well. Best Sweet Tea & great service.
I started to feel under the weather so I ordered the killer miso pork ramen. The broth was so rich and flavorful! The egg was perfect as was the char siu. However, I only got two slices of char siu so I wish it had more meat. My husband got the mega pork and shared some of his meat. He downed the whole bowl so he was definitely a fan as well!
Almost nothing competes with a hot bowl of ramen when you’re craving a little warmth and flavor on the South Side of Corpus Christi. And Mikoto Ramen Bar delivers—no question about it. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the rich, savory aroma of simmering broths and sizzling appetizers. Their miso and tonkotsu ramen are local standouts, with perfectly cooked noodles, tender cuts of meat, and broths that taste like they’ve been bubbling for hours. The pork gyoza is crisped just right, and the agedashi tofu is one of the best meatless bites in town. It’s clear the kitchen puts thought and pride into the food they serve. But as much as I enjoy the menu, I can’t help but feel a little boxed in every time I go. Mikoto is tucked into a small strip center space, and it feels small—cozy, sure—but a bit too tight when the place is busy. There’s an undeniable charm in the way it’s decorated, and they’ve done a great job making it feel warm and comfortable inside. Still, the limited seating and tight layout don’t leave much room to breathe, especially during peak hours. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it’s something to keep in mind if you’re hoping for a more open, relaxed dining experience. That said, I keep going back. Because at the end of the day, it’s the food that counts—and Mikoto gets that part absolutely right. Whether you’re a ramen lover or just someone hunting for a flavorful, comforting meal in Corpus Christi, this little shop is worth a visit. Just don’t be surprised if you’re elbow-to-elbow with fellow ramen fans.
Overall I have to admit I’ve definitely had much better ramen other places, but it was still pretty good here! I ordered the pork miso ramen and my husband got the beef ramen. I was surprised that I enjoyed the beef ramen more than the pork. The flavor was delicious on the beef and there was a decent portion of meat in the bowl. The noodles in my ramen were clumpy/stuck together. We also had the unagi jun (eel over rice) which was really good but had too many fatty bits for my personal liking and preference. HONESTLY the star of the show was the mochi for dessert - it was OUT OF THIS WORLD. It definitely tasted home made in the best way. The service was quick and extremely friendly.
Place was very clean the service was not that good because there was only one waitress we were sitting down and two other table customers walked in and they were served before us the food was good I still left a $20 tip because the waitress always had a big smile and super kind she was definitely Asian lady
It was delicious! There are no other words to describe the dishes I tried. It's a very traditional type of experience and their dishes were full of flavor. I tried the Pork Ramen and found it tasted just like the one upstate in Austin. It had a rich broth and their Bardock fries are to die for. I would highly recommend this place and I will be returning for more. This is just what CC needs, a good Ramen joint with awesome food. Everything I tried was good!!
First time going and it was yummy . The Thai tea with boba was delicious! I got the Chicken Ramen with corn… not to big of a portion easy to finish
Place has fair prices and a good variety to their menu. I ordered Cajun ramen and the texture if the noodles were perfect, however I feel it was lacking in flavor. For instance Ive had the same ramen bowl at other competitors and their bowls have excellent flavor, I just didnt get the same taste from my ramen bowl. However its a nice restaurant with great service. I will be coming back again and trying out other bowls, just not my top choice for now. Check them out.
Mikoto was in a nondescript strip center, but once you step inside ypur taken into a modern, yet traditional Ramen Bar setting. Hand painted Koi adorn the walls above the kitchen. We started with appetizers of the Chicken Karage, Shrimp Tempura, and Pork Gyoza. All were very good, but the Karage was not the best I've had. I had the Miso Pork Ramen, very delicious! I do however wish they had Ramen Seasoning sauce , chili oil, or spicey chili sauce on the table to add to my Ramen. The only option I saw was to either order the Ramen spicey or to order a side of spicey chili. Other Ramen bars usually have this on the table. Overall our experience was great, the staff was friendly and attentive. The food was a solid 8.5 out of 10. The seating is limited in this smallish space. There is bar seating, family style seating, and booth seating. Expect to wait during busy times. Note that there is no waiting area inside, so you will have to wait outside and if there is inclement weather, good luck.
Good place for ramen, the shoyou ramen and spicy pork ramen were both good. The agedashi tofu and takoyaki were good as well. The takoyaki could've had more octopus, sauce and toppings. The tofu could be a little less expensive, especially given it comes with three pieces. I'm not a big ramen guy but my wife is so she was excited to partake in the spicy pork ramen. Definitely recommended for a try!!!
Good ramen, I thought the noodles where cooked perfectly, the chasu pork was excellent, and the ajitama egg was great flavor. I just wish the broth was a little more well seasoned. It didn't have the mouth feel that great ramens have, doesn't quite coat the mouth, yet it was very oily.
Food and service were excellent hands down. Best ramen I've ever had. The black garlic is amazing. The ONLY disapointing thing was when I asked for hot oil, and paid the bill I noticed they charged me 1.25 for it. I would assume condiments are be complimentary. I don't mind paying for good food but to have to pay for some hot oil seems a little far.
The reason being for the 3 stars was that I expected this place to be even more better than other places that serve a ramen dish of some type. The flavor profile of the Black Garlic had the flavor of just that it alone. It indefinitely lacked seasoning such as salt and spices. I felt in such disappoint when it came to seasoning within the broth. Believe it or not I love the (Tonkotsu Ramen) from Bamboo Garden 10x way over than the soups from Mikitos and guess what they have the same owners who own Bamboo Garden own Mikitos so I don't understand why the flavor profile should be different none the less the presentation was their but lack of seasoning and spices did not help the dish pull through on my visit unfortunately.
Overpriced for a 3 pieces of agedashi tofu ($8.99). When I first opened the to-go container of the tofu, I thought the container somehow flipped upside down and the lid popped open. I wish that had been true. 3 pieces of something closely resembling agedashi tofu cost me 9 dollars. Ordered ramen as well. It was alright, nothing exceptional.
I was on a trip at Corpus Christi and decided to try out this ramen place. It was full when I went during dinner time which was fine. However, no one was trying to attend me even though the waiters could see me standing at the door. That was not a good first impression 😕. As for the food, it was alright. I personally think the ramen was too oily and the miso was a bit salty. The takoyaki was good. So, overall, I think this place was alright.🤷♀️
Nothing wrong with the place itself. It wasnt my prefrence. The soup was greasy to me. All the greases of porks mixed in the soup. Tasted like eat a bowl of grease to me. But the service was extremely friendly n the place was clean. I really did enjoy the sake that was reccomended. I not too much for asian food but i so much wanted to check it out. I wanted to try some ramon soup. But the food tasted a bit greasy n bland. I dont wanna knock this place too much cuz the atmosphere was cool. Didnt luke the idea of sitting at the bar staring the the cook. The bar area seems like a bad idea. Will i being coming back. If a friend wants me to join them. But as far as taste goes. Im sorry. The taste wasnt me.
The food was amazing and the only reason for several returns. That was in the past. This last time, failed my expectations of greatness I've come to grow and learn to love. Sad to say, the last time I visited Mikoto, my experience was very disappointing. The food was not the same. Not the same cook I'm used to. I took pictures that show before and now, what it is. Disappointing because this was one of my, "to go" restaurants.
10/19/25. Changed from 1star to 3. Manager did respond and tried to make things right. The food was still lacking, but the issue is 3rd party apps. I ordered through instacart which uses uber eats. The restaraunt can not refund, the 3rd party has to. Instacart passed the buck to owner then to uber and I get no refund. Order directly from the establishment or, if 3rd party, look at establishment menu for accurate description. BEWARE OF 3RD PARTY DELIVERY APPS! 10/18/25. Ordered tom yum ramen. Noodles are just this spaghetti, the shrimp is either old or is stored with fish because thats what it tastes like. (FISH) I dont eat fish because I dont like the taste. The chicken I had added was definitely reheated. Ordered through uber eats and contacted them for refund and was told I have to go through restaraunt. Called and no manager on site and no one knows when one will be there. Took my number for a call back from manager. 🙄 We all know how that goes
I come to this place when in corpus our original server was very unhelpful and disrespectful to me and my boyfriend-also adding that we were the only other table there?- I myself am in the service industry and my boyfriend didn't understand what our server was saying about an order request. (He wanted extra eggs and she clarified he would be getting 5 total egg halves) and understood and said yes that's what I want and she rolled her eyes and walked away without saying anything which I thought was very confusing. He then had another request to add corn to his noodles which wasn't even included our receipt or added to his meal. After we had gotten our food we were not checked in on once. Our server sat down at a table and began talking to coworkers when we needed more drinks.every other server ended up helping us more than the ginger one. The only times we were genuinely checked on was when they tried to push us the check when we weren't nearly finished w our food. I genuinely like eating at this place but the service ruined the atmosphere
Reason why I gave them a 2. The service was horrible I felt rushed the entire time. I had to ask 4 times for a plate for my son. The one white waitress that was here seemed like she could care less. Thankfully another waitress brought a plate. The food was okay my husband said his Ramen was good. To me the Tori Naman was okay my son enjoyed the chicken. The biggest disappointment was the sides did not match the picture. I get if they are in rotation but tell someone that when they order. Also the fact I got canned peaches and walmart potato salad....... yeah as pictured over all big disappointment to end my day in Corpus.
This is an okay Japanese restaurant. The agedashi tofu was super disappointing by being mushy and gooey, not crisp like it should be. Wouldn't recommend it. The other dish was a cold pork noodle super over dressed in sauce and also not what I was expecting. Won't be returning.
I found a maggot in the curry dumpling Ramen. I should have snap a picture before I freaked out and trashed the whole thing but facts are facts. There was 2 of them.
RUDE bad experience .Me & my husband tried to have dinner yesterday, not paying attention to the time. We walk in ,the place is full .We get seated and the girl says the kitchen closes in 10 minutes do you know what you want ( with attitude for no reason). No hi not even trying to be nice about it. So we go ahead and order our food to go. We were not trying to keep the restaurant open later then hours of operation but if you close at that time and people are walking in ,figure out something to prevent this from happening or get better staff . Really regretted even getting our food to go because we usually go to Ninja Ramen and we've always been accommodated there no matter the time or the number of people in our group & get great service every time.
Terrible service, they refused to give me a booth table because I was dining alone. Tired after work and I just wanted to be comfortable, I had to leave due to poor service.
Staff was inattentive and got my order completely wrong twice, brought me additional items i never ordered, and the guests whom i brought all got sick about 20 min after leaving. Super disappointed as we were there waiting for an hour and a half to eat. It was like pulling teeth to get a waitress to your table.
Food was excellent. Black garlic ramen is my favorite!! The service was terrible. Blonde haired waitress complained about everything. Over heard her calling a customer an a**h*le. Not trying to be rude, but if you intend on serving people, please be clean, and have good hygiene. We could not eat our food after being turned off by the waitress.
