Avis sur Ristorante Avetta Cossano Canavese
This Christmas was truly wonderful thanks to the kindness, professionalism, and delicious dishes!! Mom Rosanna and her husband welcomed us with open arms. Daughter and Pietro pampered us with delicacies... Not to be missed!
Local cuisine in a setting that combines conversation with sampling traditional dishes. Attentive and attentive service. Excellent mushrooms, mixed fried fish, and mushroom risotto rival the egg tagliolini with porcini mushroom sauce. The homemade desserts will forever linger in the memory of a joyful meal.
We discovered this restaurant by chance, and since we were craving mushrooms, we went there as soon as we could. I ordered the mushroom menu with some hesitation: I was worried I'd end up with a heavy stomach. Instead, I ate an abundance of spectacular mushrooms without any problems. We'll definitely be back from now on, not only for the excellent food but also for the kindness.
A typical Piedmontese restaurant, serving top-quality food and local ingredients. In autumn, mushrooms take center stage on the menu. A good selection of wines, including Erbaluce di Caluso and Canavese reds.
For years now, I've been making autumn visits to the Avetta restaurant to try their mushroom-based menu. If you want to satisfy your mushroom cravings, this is the place to go, with a menu that includes everything from appetizers to side dishes. The portions are just right, and you'll leave your table feeling full. The only downside is the restaurant's noise level; being quite old, it echoes a lot, making you have to raise your voice to talk. Booking well in advance is highly recommended; being a popular spot, it's almost always full.
Best place for mushrooms ! The mushroom menu is phenomenal. Make sure you book in advance.
The restaurant is located in a quiet village in the Canavese area. Easy to get to, but parking varies depending on the day. We opted for the tasting menu, which includes a fixed number of courses. I think it was an excellent choice for sampling this season's mushroom specialties. The result was an excellent lunch with fresh, very tasty food.
A wonderful take-you-back-in-time restaurant specializing in dishes with Piedmontese musherooms-everything fungi! We loved the fried porcini mushrooms in particular, but the risotto and tagliatelle were yummy as well. People were very friendly. As an Italia-americana from foodie California I am proud of my grandfather’s town.
Nice place
I returned to this restaurant, which specializes in mushrooms, during the Porcini Mushroom Festival. The place is quite large, but it's often crowded and noisy. They offer a fixed menu for €55 (I remember a few years ago it was €45, a significant increase) and an à la carte menu. We were a large group, and almost all of us opted for the fixed menu. The waiters were very friendly, but the service suffered due to the large number of guests. The dishes on the menu, all based on porcini mushrooms, are well executed, although I can't recall a single dish that stood out to me. The portions are generous, and you can take any leftovers home. The downside, as mentioned, is the prices. Not that €55 is too much for the menu, but in that price range, in Piedmont, you can find very high-quality restaurants. The "democracy" of a place like this is somewhat lacking. Overall, it's still an interesting stop for mushroom lovers.
We've been there before to eat mushrooms, and this time it didn't disappoint. It's a classic Piedmontese restaurant, with a simple but comprehensive menu. €45 for everything, including a little wine to accompany the beautifully cooked mushrooms. In short, if you want good, simple food, this is the place for you. The village is small and there's not much parking, but you can find a spot a few hundred meters away. Update 9/2023: The above is confirmed, although 2.5 hours for dinner requires some commitment. Tasting menu for €50 per person.
Nice family restaurant, a bit retro and traditional, very bright. Everything is based on mushrooms. No menu. Fast, friendly, and efficient service (three tables occupied). Changing table in the bathroom. I didn't like the forced presence of pickled mushrooms at the table when we arrived, and the soft breadsticks. The house red wine was very good, the flan with fondue was very good, and the polenta concia was good. It's a shame about the tagliolini, which we're used to eating without onions. I prefer my mother-in-law's, and that's saying a lot... sweet, I don't know. 50 euros: 1 water, half a liter of house red wine, 1 polenta concia with mushrooms, 1 flan with cheese fondue, 2 tagliolini, 1 dessert, 2 coffees. Good value. Maybe try it during mushroom season.
