I forgot to take a photo of the Amazingly tasty burger with "bacon jam" perfectly cooked-bottomless mimosa with Champagne~ guava, orange and pineapple juices, I ordered the Tastiest chilaquilas I've Ever had and then a birthday treat for my friend, churroos and ice cream🥳🥳🥳
Great ambiance and excellent service! I loved that there was someone always in rotation filling up our water glasses. Food was awesome too, we got the charcuterie, ceviche tostadas & steak tacos. I love where it’s situated & so close to so many things!
What a hidden gem! We heard about this place from friends and decided to make it a date night. We loved the food, the staff was super friendly, and the atmosphere was lively and fun. It was perfect! We'll definitely be coming back.
Stopped in at Social in Costa Mesa while spending a weekend down in Orange County, and I’m so glad we did. I’d heard great things from friends, and this place definitely didn’t disappoint. The food was absolutely amazing, the atmosphere was spot-on, and the service was just as good. It wasn’t too busy when we arrived—probably because it’s Christmas season and everyone’s out shopping—so we got in right before the lunch crowd. I heard it was packed the night before, and I can see why. Everything we tried was top-notch.
I've been here before for their brunch menu nearly a decade ago, but this is my first time here for dinner! I did not research beforehand so I let the evening take me wherever it landed for a weeknight. It was a small company dinner to round out the last evening with folks from out of state. We started the night with a few shared apps and dranks. I was overstimulated from a day of meetings, so I asked our server for his rec and he said his favorite was the Palm Reader ($15). I said ok, let's do it without verifying what it was, but it was beautifully presented and tasted like a Caprisun. What a sweet taste of nostalgia. For apps, we shared the Pull Apart Pretzel ($14), Fritto Misto ($17) and Meatballs ($17). The pretzel was presented like Hawaiian bread buns and served with beer cheese. Surprising display, but it didn't have that strong pretzel texture/flavor profile I was seeking. I love me some Hawaiian buns, but it didn't satisfy my pretzel craving. The fritto misto was a good start - calamari, shrimp, shishito peppers and olives served alongside a meyer lemon aioli and red sauce. I liked that it was on a bed of frisee salad so I could have my greens too! The meatballs were too far away from me, but it did look quite tasty. Came with parmesan toasted bread. I kept my main light with the Spring Lettuce & Herb. Such a refreshing pairing of spring mix, fennel, citrus, goat cheese, pistachio and crispy grains. Lots of good crunch and the sweet grapefruit/mandarin offset the goat cheese. I wish they had salmon as a protein choice, but I think chicken or steak would have worked really well too. My table mates' choices for dinner varied across the menu: Jidori Chicken ($32), Steak Frites subbed with roasted veggies ($42), Lasagna Bolognese ($26) and Broccolini ($15). General sentiments were pretty positive, but chicken was highly rated as one of the best they had. I can see this being popular on the weekend. Parking lot is small and reservations are recommended, but shouldn't be an issue during the week. Now that I've had dinner, I wouldn't mind returning to try more.
Gabriel the manager, waiter, bartender, my everything, was outstanding. We were a last minute party of 8. He was attentive, anticipated our needs, accommodating, just over and beyond excellent customer service. The food was great. Oscar assisted us as well and so friendly and great customer service. Highly recommend and thank you for a wonderful experience.
Friday Happy Hour Chill Vibes! Happy hour is offered in the entire restaurant. But there wasn’t a soul anywhere but a few people at the bar. A few more people started to come in as happy hour came to an end sitting at the bar and restaurant area. Friendly bar staff! HH Croquettes: small portion but that smoked chicken. Chefs kiss! Not sure what I was expecting but it was really good! 5/5 House Fries: nice and crispy! Garlic aioli more garlic than aioli but I loved it. Just need some gum afterwards! Drinks were good! Will be back!
Stopped by for brunch because this restaurant was recommended to me by a friend who loves the dinner menu here, and the brunch was delicious! A little more on the pricier side but each dish we ordered was unique and tasty! Social Benedict is composed of: Pulled Pork, Buttermilk Biscuit, Slow Egg, Creole Mustard Hollandaise = SO good, the pulled pork was savory and the biscuit wasn’t soggy from the hollandaise sauce, which I did not expect and loved how everything went together. Chicken and waffles is composed of: Belgium Waffle, Fried Chicken, Maple Syrup, That Stuff Hot Sauce - the waffle is made from corn flour (I think) and tasted so different from the usual waffles you order at other restaurants! And the fried chicken was cooked in a hot sauce that was pretty spicy but was delicious.
Went on a Thursday night after the original place I wanted to dine at was closed and boy was I not disappointed!! Per the waiter’s recommendation, I ordered the bells cocktail and grain bowl. And i’m so glad I listened to their recommendations! The cocktail was unique and not overly sweet; perfectly balanced. The grains bowl was beautifully presented and the flavor was divine! The overall freshness and portion of each component was perfect. I go out to eat to enjoy meals that I wouldn’t or can’t make myself, and this was truly something I could not make any better in my own kitchen. I was skeptical of the quinoa at first because when I make it the flavor profile is soso, but here they really seasoned it well and it carried the delicious veggies it was topped with. I’m grateful for such a flavorful plant based / vegan dish at a reasonable price for the portion. The service was also awesome. I asked for something to add some spice to the meal and was presented with not 1, not 2, but 3 options! The Serranos and chili sauce were the perfect additions to an already flavorful dish. I will definitely be recommending this place to my friends and family, and will be back the next time i’m in Costa Mesa. Thank you for making quality drinks and even better food! Also bonus points that I was able to bring my puppy with me to dine on the patio!
First time here and I will definitely go back. We had reservations and had no wait time, we were seated right away. Drinks are a little pricey but they were good. Food was delicious and service was outstanding. I shared the Chicken Tinga Empanadas, steak lettuce wraps and Bone Marrow. The bone marrow is something I would never try but I did and it was so good and the lettuce wraps were so good they didn't even make it to the picture. Music and atmosphere was also good. I highly recommend it to celebrate a special occasion or just a night out.
This was a rare find and it turned out to be so good. We were in the neighborhood and thought of giving it a try based on the great reviews and boy it didn't disappoint us. I would highly recommend. It gets crowded so think about reserving for bigger groups. First, let's start with the interior design and decor - fantastic. I loved the decor, the lights and the great woodwork inside. The seating arrangement is good as they have space to accommodate big groups as well as couples. There are restrooms for men and women but can usually get crowded and you might have to wait because they are single person restrooms. Now let's move on to the food. The food was so amazing I couldn't stop thinking about it. Best part I would say were the fresh ingredients. You can taste and tell that the ingredients were freshly made and used instead of being frozen and thawed before cooking. I appreciate that they did that. The bacon was so crispy and the chicken was fresh. We tried the social Benedict and the chicken sandwich and both were good - I will recommend. We tried the coffee from the coffee bar and I would say we have had better. The espresso was a little too harsh for my liking but in no way the coffee was bad. We tried a latte and a cappuccino and I would not highly recommend it. The parking in the complex is plenty but I can see it being crowded in peak hours, definitely plan accordingly.
What a fantastic experience. Their cocktails are fresh and creative, and their food is phenomenal. We went here for my boyfriend's birthday and the service was great. The waitress recommended we share everything which worked out wonderfully. Who would have though half a pig head could taste so good! Highly recommend! This place doesn't just serve dinner--they also provide an unforgettable time.
4 stars food 4 stars for atmosphere. 5 stars for service and especially to our server, Gabriel! This review is a few weeks past due, but I'm here now! It was our first time here and we made reservations for brunch. We came for the bottomless mimosas and he did not disappoint. We came for an early birthday celebration for my wife, party of 5 and we had a blast. We will definitely be back and will recommend to our friends and family.
We tried the Blistered shishito peppers that were very good but the portion was too much for two people. We also shred the Green Goddess salad with hanger steak that was excellent and the fried fish tacos were also very good. My Moscow Mule cocktail was decent. We will definitely go back again for dinner and will also try out their brunch.
Great place to go and meet friends for a fun drink and some good food. There was live music playing when I was there and the DJ setting up for later at night. I’ve been there for brunch on the weekends and the food was delicious. Tonight I had a salad and steak tacos and was very satisfied. my waiter was also very nice.
First time, not the last. Drinks were fantastic. Service with Margaret even better. She took her time going over menu and her recommendations. Ordered brussel sprouts and they were amazing. Shrimp and grits were just ok. Def not a fan. Husbands pork chops he said were out of this world. Perfectly cooked. Suggest you make reservations. We did and were seated right away. As night went on it got louder and louder. We don't care to yell to each other to have conversation. Next time we might just sit at bar. We will definitely be back. Excited to hear they will be opening one in Sunset Beach fairly soon.
So we walked in, not busy on a Friday night, hostess was not friendly, we had to ask if we could sit, waiter came. Would you like a drink, sure, 15 minutes later he brought my friends drink, 10 minutes later I had to ask twice, hey is the vodka soda ready? 5 minutes later he brought it, whole time im watching the bartender, who was not busy talking to two guys non stop! Then we ask, do you have a happy hour menu, oh yeah let me go get it, so we go to order the Burger on the happy hour menu, its the same name and discription as one on regular menu, but 5 bucks cheaper, normal right for a happy hour? He said oh no it only has one patty vs 5 bucks more you get the second patty, you think you'd change the name or make sure thats known. Ok, so we get our food, its OK, I'll give you that was the ok. Then he offers us a desert menu, I see bread pudding, now mind you bread pudding is warm, has whipped cream and is a normal pie size pcs, he brings out this small sq, stone cold, it was horrible, he never asks once, or checks if we are happy etc... except, hey want another drink, I bit, 20 minutes later lol so bottomline I dont recommend.
Big disappointment ☹️ Maybe try dinner time? Brunch didn’t have much options to choose from and their avocado toast had weird smell, maybe from feta cheese and rotten arugula. The presentation looks better than how it tastes. The Chilaquiles was better but kind of greasy. The pork in chilaquiles was the best part of everything. I love their cocktail though. The taste is there and unique. I tried their Shiso Boozee. Very little vodka in cocktail though. If you wanna try, come for dinner time.
Good cozy atmosphere serving solid cocktails with friendly staff who provides honest feedback on menu items, which is always appreciated as opposed to hearing "... everything on the menu is good". Brussel sprouts were delicious but warning they were on the sweeter side as the honey drizzle was generous. Steak tacos came out not hot so timing could be improved. Overall a good spot for drinks and new American food.
