Authentic Filipino food, large portions, good service!
I love Via Mare‼ the food is amazing. I ordered Shanghai lumpia, pork binagogan, and lechon kawali. Delicious. The staff is super sweet‼ we ordered to go. ❤❤❤❤❤
The staff members give you a sense that they’re happy serving you. The food was terrific and everyone went out of their way to give us the best eating experience and pleasure.
The best Filipino restaurant in California! I enjoyed everything we ever ordered! Excellent service and delicious home cooked meals!
Great food and wonderful service. We live in the East Bay but we will definitely be back to eat here again.
Great food!! Must try the lengua, bangus sisig; crispy pata and pinakbet; and don"t forget camaron rebosado.
Most of the food are yummy. Grilled Tuna Panga is always my Favorite one. 😋
Food was awesome as always. I am an occasional visitor to this area but always love to eat out here.
Affordable staffs are wonderful Portions are Awsome ambiance is cleAn and cozy .. There's nothing to complain especially if your a regular there .. Simple as that
JC UY was a terrific host. So fun absolutely had a great time because of her. Food very good go eat there if you like real Filipino food delicious 😋.
The restaurant is located on the bottom floor of an apartment building. You can't miss the building but you can miss the restaurant since signage is hidden. The place is absolutely beautiful. The wood decor and use of floor space maximums usage. And I like that fact that at every table is missing one set of plates leaving more room for the entrees. We got the Shanghai lumpia, caldereta, and fresh lumpia.
The staff are nice and attentive to your needs especially Cathy. Food tastes fantastic. Too bad they ran out of dilis fried rice when we went so we will definitely be coming back for that!.
Took the in-laws here. It's a big family type of place able to accommodate many. Just be advised that it gets noisy on Sundays and people like to listen to videos on their phone at full volume. Food is good. Good is good
The best Filipino cuisine around San Francisco. They offer the best authentic dishes that uses fresh ingredients that ultimately pleased your palette. You cannot go wrong with anything in their menu. I strongly suggest the crispy dilis fried rice to start then the rest will follow
My wife and I visited Via Mare in the Philippines and we were excited to discover that there's a VM in the Bay Area! The experience was the same if not better! The table service was fairly quick. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was fresh, delicious and prepared perfectly. Mind you there were only four of us and we ordered for at six! We ordered crispy pata, beef nilaga, pancit bihon, V M bbq pork, fried chicken and Shanghai lumpia! Everyone really enjoyed their choices. We'll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.
Took my wife to lunch at Via Mare in Daly City. We wanted to try their Bangus Sisig and XL Crispy Pata. The dishes were delicious and the service were great. Bangus and sisig, what a great combination. Crispy pata was tender inside and crunchy skin outside. Served on white rice. It was a perfect lunch combo.
I had the Pinkabet and garlic rice. Both very delicious and tasty. I was told that I could have substituted the bitter melon with other veggies next time. Friendly service.
Food quality is impressive with homey style. Spacious dining area and clean. Family ran restaurant always good service.
Best crispy PATA that I have ever tasted. Tender, crispy, most of the fat baked off. Pork Nilaga is not my favorite, I prefer the beef version. The Ube icecream fantastic. The decor and the friendliness of the staff irreprochable. I will definitely go back.
The staff at Via Mare are so great. Their food is amazing. The atmosphere is so nice and intimate.
Very friendly staff and great food . We would always come back

This is one of my favorite locations if I don’t want to go far and eat Filipino food. I usually order: Kare Kare, lechon Kawale ( need to ask first), Kalabaza with white sauce and their Pancit Canton. All their food is very yummy. We have also ordered their pork sisig, and also their fish with sweet and sour sauce. But we have learned not to order too much, otherwise we won’t have room for their dessert. Halo halo. They put different ice cream and corn flakes. It is the OMG. So good. Also, since we come so often, their service is the best. And there is plenty of parking in front. Street parking of course.
We travel all the way from Walnut Creek just to have their great tasting Filipino dishes! The service was a bit slow, especially if there were a lot of customers, but it's always worth the wait!!! They really captured the taste of foods prepared in the Philippines!
By far the BEST Filipino restaurant in the Bay! The Bicol express and extra crispy Bangus Sisig are of this world! Believe it or not, I can say with all confidence that it’s actually better than food I’ve had in Manila. In addition, contrary to many beliefs, halo halo is not all the same! Via Mare’s is sooo good! What makes it even better? The service—-especially from the nicest server in the world—-BRIAN! Last but not least, I am particular about restrooms. Food may be great but if the place has a nasty bathroom, I am turned off with the whole place. Via Mare’s is clean and pretty. I can’t say anything bad about this place. I brought friends here and they all ordered Bicol Express & Crispy Bangus sisig to go! Love this place!!!PLEASE STAY OPEN!!!
Food was good but service was a bit slow albeit if you also consider the number of people in our party it's expected (+6 pax)

The food is always good especially the crispy pata. They are consistent. The price is reasonable and service is nice. We were glad they didn't close because of the pandemic.
I can't give a five star because I did not receive actual table service , but the service and food I experienced there recently at a private birthday party was excellent . Also it would be nice if they serve at least beer and wine because this type of food is great with them . Will recommend to friends and family .
We enjoyed the food but the only thing I didn't like is the lack of lights! I didn't bring my professional camera thinking that the place have enough lights! We will book our next party next time if you will have more lights!
Personally, I love this place. The chicken sisig is amazing and I always order the topsilog (spelling?) Can't speak much for the service as I've only eaten in twice, but they're always very friendly.
Inexpensive food, big portions, and very nice servers. I'm not a fan of filipino food but this was the best I've had so far.
Good Filipino food. Nothing extraordinary ... just tasty everyday Filipino food. Love their buko-pandan dessert!😋😋🤗
Food are good and the service is fast. The only thing we don't like is the bathroom, no bathroom tissue.
The Crispy pata, bangus sisig and lumpiang shanghai were great! The pansit was average for my taste. Service was prompt, restaurant was very clean but the place for me is a little bit dark. But all in all it was a great experience. ♥️
So far, I haven't ordered a dish from this place that I didn't like. Here's what I have tried so far: -chicken sisig -bulalo -pancit bam-i -inihaw na panga na tuna -kare-kare -dilis rice -bibingka I especially like the bibingka, it is one of their bestsellers in their restaurant chains in the Philippines and it seems like they were able to make their bibingkas here taste the same. The service though is not consistent, there were a few times when it was slow and there were times it was ok. Plenty of parking in the garage since Via Mare is located at the ground floor of the what seems to be still unoccupied condo building next to the Daly City library. There's also street parking in front of the restaurant. I also want to mention that the signage is small so if it's your first time to go, it's easy to miss it.
Been here only once and was impressed of how authentic their food dishes were. Very delicious and plenty of meat and less fat compared to other Filipino restaurants. Would love to come back in the near future.
You can be mad at me for my love of Jollibees, Chow King, and Goldilocks- " That's not Filipino food Donny!"😜 Love the influence and impact of the culture in this Ube BayArea! Filipino American History month! Via Mare is a hidden Filipino restaurant near top of the hill Daly City. Masarap😋 The fried fish will have you dreaming of a vacation in beaches and waters of Palawan or Boracay! Have not had one bad dish here yet!

Tastiest Filipino food you can find in the BayArea. Used to like their Halo-halo for dessert, but no longer.

3.25 Yes, being Filipino makes me a tough rater of Filipino cuisine. Do not get me wrong, Via Mare of America does serve some good enough Filipino food that would satisfy my craving. This establishment is a pretty good size and I like how you can have easy parking access in the small parking garage. I came here with a few of my relatives in the area and was ready to feast! To start off, we had the popular lumpia shanghai appetizer and fried calamari. Their lumpia shanghai are larger pieces which I did not mind and the both dishes were good. The fried lumpia was not too greasy which I have had issues with at other Filipino establishments in the past. For the main course of this meal, we shared Pansit, Crispy Pata (deep fried pork), Kare-Kare, and Bangus (Milkfish)Sisig. The pansit (similar to a Chinese style Lo Mein) was not bad, though it tasted pretty average. Of course, with pansit I recommend to squeeze the lemon or lime in it for extra flavor. The Crispy Pata was my favorite dish here! That fried pork goodness was awesome and I really enjoyed munching on this. The Bangus Sisig and Kare-Kare were not anything special in my opinion. I am a tough rater of Kare-Kare (oxtail stew with vegetables in a peanut-type sauce) and I was a little disappointed in my Kare-Kare. It was not very warm when it came to the table and some of the sauce was already starting to thicken right when I got the dish. The service was good here, and I would not mind coming back here to check out some of their other dishes.

Food ok. Service slow. Had to wait for drink. Also server brought can over already opened. Many items on menu were crossed off. Not very busy.

Food was just ok, definitely had better. Grilled Liemp was a bit dry but the sisig bangus was decent. Prices a bit high for Filipino fare. Will spend money elsewhere.
I ordered chicken sisig through doordash, expecting that it was good as before, but it wasn't. The meat is not fresh and it's hard to chew. I hope that quality of the food will improved.

Sizzling Bangus belly was so disappointing! It wasn't sizzling at all when it was served. The fish was pretty tough like it was still frozen. Pancit sotangon doesn t have flavor . It was bland. It has that Orange color. And we were told that they only make 12 pieces per day of the fresh lumpia. So they ran out today! Boooo! I would t come back here!
VERY LONG WAIT. Came here at 11:30am. It’s now 12:25pm and we’ve only received one of the two appetizers. Still no main dish, typical pinoy time with no sense of urgency!
Food was good but I saw a rat run across in front of my table. Not once but twice! I felt nauseous afterwards and had to throw away my leftovers for safety reasons.
Their out of business now. My rating remains at 1* as they never really got any better, but actually got worse as years went by. But then again, comparing them with other local Filipino restaurants, they are about the same. There are a few that stands out but sadly Filipino food are quite pricey everywhere.
I very rarely leave restaurant reviews but needed to let others know about this horrendous experience from September 2023. I was excited to try Via Mare as an out of state visitor. My Filipino friend took me here on a weekday evening. The restaurant wasn’t busy but the waitstaff hardly ever came around (no water refills, no checking in on us). I asked the waitstaff to charge a certain amount on my credit card. I was traveling for work and had to stay under a certain amount. They came back and charged my card the wrong amount. Then they went back and supposedly refunded my card and charged the correct amount. Unfortunately, they never refunded my card for the incorrect amount and kept the money. It appeared on my business card statement and we couldn’t dispute the amount. I called my credit card issuer and they were not able to resolve it. So Via Mare charged me twice for this meal! So unprofessional!
First time to try via mare in daly city mission street June 2024… So disappointed coz the service was awful! Took forever to take our order. I have to call their attention to get our order then takes so long for our order to come. The party of 10 people left because they got tired of waiting for them to take their order. 3 of them just standing by the check in counter and 2 of them using their phone just texting. Overall not good service..
