I didn't take pics because I literally forgot I was having such a good time. Aura Coffee is so good. Get a kool keith. Also the lunch special I got, the nachos, was absolutely amazing even after I had to heat it up for dinner (my only weakness is not being able to eat that much in one sitting, rip). Additionally, their twitter is hilarious. It's beautiful on the inside and incredibly welcoming, and everyone on staff that I interacted with is so nice. What more could you want from a coffee shop?

Ever since my first year at UNT(back when this was big mikes) this has been my favorite coffee shop in all of Denton. The prices are fair and the coffee is awesome. My favorites has always been the big mike and ziggy stardust. If I’m not feeling coffee, the chai lattes are also amazing. It’s also a great place to study and perfect to walk to in between classes.

Amazing little coffee shop riddled with college students, like myself, that need an extra shot of coffee to keep our school-fueled adventure sustained a couple extra hours. They have a dazzling amount of eclectic coffee choices and some baked goods that will surely compliment your Aura Coffee experience.

Went to see Sundown Collaborative Short Works Festival. Great show. The coffee shop owner is obviously a very awesome person that provided the space. Very cool place with a great funky atmosphere.

Looking for an amazing iced coffee? Big Mike's is your place! I've frequented Big Mike's for over a year now, and I've never had a bad experience. You won't find better prices anywhere else, nor will you find a better cup of joe.(Especially since Avoca became their bean supplier!) They always play great music, and it never gets too crowded. Their hours are great, too!

Looking for a local coffee shop to support rather than (insert big yuck corp chain here)? This one has been around for years and does wonderful things for the local denton community. I love their handmade syrups and any shop with so many plants in the windows is a bonus for me! Support local every day.

The smoothies are smooth, creamy, naturally sweetened, and delicious. One of my favorite warming weather treats.

The best coffee I have ever had!!! I have class twice a week and always stop in to get a cup of the Hologram drip. The flavors are so unique! It's always the perfect temperature too! They also have huge muffins which are incredible! On top of all that, the employees are friendly, and know their regulars. Way more affordable than Starbucks and a billion times better!!

Great energy soon as you step in the door. I would imagine this location is popular amongst the locals. I would definitely be a regular if I lived here. The baristas are great at suggesting items similar to what you may typically get from your larger coffee house. I will return again when I’m in the area. Milk substitutes… vegan bakery options.. Idk what they put in their drinks but I'm obsessed. I'm a UNT commuter from Fort Worth and I got a matcha 2 hours ago and I'm considering driving the hour and a half to go get another one. I'm really picky about my chai lattes too and have tried MANY coffee shops in the DFW area and Aura still has the best. They don't charge for (most syrups) and their prices are really good. Their drinks motivate my to make the 40 minute drive and go to classes. True heros of the US at Aura.

I go here almost every morning. It’s that good. With such rich, velvety coffee and “Ginger’s Kitchen” this place is just an exquisite cafe. I always get a mocha with some fruit infused in it. (raspberry had been my favorite so far.) and I sit and wait till 11am, when “Ginger’s Kitchen” opens. They have DELICIOUS Quesadillas with chips and salsa. They are always so patient and sweet and kind.

This is my favorite coffee spot in all of Denton! Such a cute and cozy place to study, especially during finals. I love the coffee here (especially the orange mocha!) not to mention all of the staff are very friendly and helpful in providing recommendations!

Staff is incredibly friendly! I ordered an iced coffee with their house made sage syrup (yum!). They are actively cleaning and ensuring tables are sanitized before guests can sit down. It's great to hear conversation and laughs of other customers with staff.

I go to UNT and went to Aura for the first time this past semester and I loved it! I respect other peoples opinion about if they like the coffee and plants and atmosphere or not. But I will not respect the people ignorantly coming on here and saying they are dirty just because they were told to wear a mask for a few minutes. Why do you people think you have the right to not follow private business rules when you enter a private business. Anyways, I loved the vibe. The smoothies were my absolute favorite and I hope to come back soon!

Gone here a couple times and it is always wonderful. Kind staff, cool atmosphere, and great drinks! A lot of students go to have their club meetings there and whatnot. Just a generally cool coffee shop all around. Highly recommend.

I've been wanting to visit the cafe for months but have been too busy to do so, today was my first visit and all I have to say is, I've finally found my coffee spot. I've been to various Denton coffee spots but like Cinderella's slipper Aura coffee was my perfect fit. Definitely recommend going here if you're looking for good vibes and adult conversation. This has become my regular before and after school spot at UNT. The staff is incredibly friendly and the food is amazing. The coffee is pricy, but it's worth the cost. I've never been served anything I did not absolutely love and I've had black coffee, iced coffee, lattes, cappuccinos, espresso, hot tea, cold tea, pie, coffee cake, and a pig in a blanket. Everything has been absolutely delicious. This place is amazing. If you want quality coffee and to support a local business, I highly recommend this place.

One of the most delightful parts of working at UNT has been occasionally stopping by here. I wish there were more baked good options but thats because I want my poor dietary habits to be enabled. The coffee is always great, im very happy with the rotating selection of beans.

Line moves pretty fast. Remember to BYO reusable coffee cup to get 50 cents off drip coffee (e.g., $1.50 for an 8-oz instead of $2). You can choose from one of two drip coffee brews of the day. Both were medium roast when I went, but since I was unfamiliar with them, I just went with the one with the taste profile that sounded more appealing in the moment. Quick service that hit the spot! Free wifi available to guests, and lots of seating inside if you need to camp out.

My fondness for this cozy, creative coffee shop grew and grew as they continued to cater to my insomniac lifestyle. My last semester was pretty tough, and I spent many over-nighters here drinking their delicious coffee and hot chocolates and eating their whole grain bagels. They're open 24/7, and I've never seen them closed aside from maybe.. Christmas. They're usually packed, but you can find a nice relaxing time in the wee hours of 4-7am. Because they have big tables, people are pretty chill about letting you sit with them and get your study on.

If you have trouble ordering, or just are an anxious person... These people are so helpful and nice! Like seriously, their aura (heh) is so upbeat and positive. Legit said "how do I order a regular iced coffee?" And immediately the response was "that's exactly how!" And they're very accommodating, I asked for a lot of sweeter and they gave it with no hesitation! Anyways.. yeah I recommend Aura Coffee!

I’ve been coming here since it was Big Mike’s in the aughts. I just came back for the first time in years, and it’s still a super chill place with a good vibe and solid beverages.

I love this place, it is great for working on homework and the employees are really nice. The free Wi-Fi is faster than the Wi-Fi I have at home. I like their selection of vegan breads and coffees. They have gender neutral bathrooms.

Aura Coffee is the best coffee shop in Denton. The atmosphere is cozy and stimulating. The baristas are kind and knowledgeable about the coffee they serve. It's the perfect place near UNT to meet up with a friend or get work done. Keep in mind it can get a little loud inside during the week, but it's quieter on weekends.

My favorite coffee shop of all time. Drinks are made to perfection offering both unique flavor combos and classic staples. Food also slaps. Staff is always super friendly. Atmosphere is really peaceful, plants everywhere and great lighting, lots of space to sit. They do a lot of outreach with the community, supporting local bands and LGBTQ+ groups. Also what really inspired me to make this review after about 1000 trips spread over 4 years is I was depressed this morning cause my AirPods died but I walked in and they’re playing the entire White Album. It was my first time and so i asked the barista for their recommendation and it was amazing!!! i got an iced oat milk latte with honey and ginger and it was soooo good! not too sweet, perfect balance of milk and espresso! i’m usually an iced cappuccino kind of girl and this was perfect, not too milky! the baristas were friendly and the space was clean and organized!

Great drinks at a reasonable price in a laid back environment. Lots of students from UNT frequent, So I'm the old fart in the house. Only complaint is the music is often too loud. I have tinnitus and it makes hearing anything else difficult. Other than that, it's a hub for progressive ideas and events, it is a zero judgment establishment, and people greet you with a smile. There's a warm aura to the place. 😄

I've been a regular here for 5+ years. Aura is hands down the best coffee shop in Denton. Very affordable, creative and delicious seasonal menu options, really good menu staples. I rotate through a few different latte choices- the sister Rosetta, iced vanilla latte, iced pandan latte, iced matcha. I like most of their syrups. They have really cool events and cute markets. They care about the local community. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful. I always feel welcome at Aura and cannot recommend it enough.

Bright and chill coffee shop! ☕️✨ There are three different sizes for hot beverages starting at 8, 12, and 16 ounces. Iced drinks are only at 16 ounces. Staff is friendly and it’s a cute spot for a date, hang out with friends, or get some studying/work in. I got a cold brew with pandan syrup and my husband got a hot americano. Pandan syrup, in my opinion, has a creamy vanilla and nutty flavor. It paired well with my cold brew! The coffee is great and they have lots of options for those that don’t want coffee either. We will definitely be back again to try the other drink options!

Aura coffee is a cute little shop by fry street by the UNT campus. We went for a bingo night and it was super fun. I had the Prince ice tea and it was delicious. You get a good amount of product for the price. The decor was eclectic and fun. Lots of colors but not overwhelming with plenty of plants. There was also 2 gender neutral bathrooms available, one being disability accessible.

One of my favorite local coffee shops. Right across from campus so super convenient and delicious. The ways they try to help the community also warm my heart. There's someone there occasionally that offers voting advice, a pop up thrift shop, a vegan food area, and lunch during the week as well.

Conveniently located adjacent to UNT campus. Ideal for walking from school, though parking is almost non-existent at daytime. A little bit pricey, especially if you tip! Also I wish it had more independent tables and chairs instead of ones side by side!

I absolutely love the Horchata iced coffee, it’s really all I come for but, they have great muffins as well! It used to taste a bit on/off before COVID, so was excited to see when they first opened it tasted amazing & was consistent, for me. As of recently it’s kinda a risk on whether or not I will like it the same way.

It was my first Horchata ever. The horchata iced coffee was great. It had a tapioca flavor with cinnamon. I have had sever since and none are as good!

Aura Coffee is a good place to grab coffee between classes. It's definitely a college hangout. The seats are pretty close together, so it's almost impossible not to overhear other customers' conversations. It's got a great community vibe. Tip: Don't sit at the table closest to the front door. The air vents are pointed right at that spot. Last time I sat there, my notes blew away.

I love this coffee shop. The coffee prices are a little high but it is the go-to place for UNT students for a pick me up. It has a nice and cozy, homey feel to it and the staff has been the same since I started visiting here in 2015. The baristas take the time to get to know their guests and what they are doing in university. You will always see regulars here so it is a good opportunity for you to connect with members of your university, and Denton community. It is also right across the street from UNT so it isn't difficult to get to.

After checking out the various coffee shops Denton has to offer, I found this one to be the better choice when it comes to looking for quiet, tables, and access to outlets in order to study( this will probably change during the start of the fall semester). The coffee was good. The Service was above par. I didn't have the food so I cannot comment correctly.

I love everything about the place. The food is great and so are the drinks. The baristas are nice and lofi and rnb can usually be heard. I've been here plenty of times and only had 1 bad experience, and that was finding hair in my food. It was small so I'm glad I caught it but it has me worried about the other food I've eaten here.

Love their coffee, but not their espresso. It's simple in there, which I love. Not all fancy and overdone, just a coffee shop. Better in the summer because of the lack of students and traffic. They also have some awesome vegan options. I love their quiches, too.

Awesome place to chill and drink good coffee. I only like black coffee, so Big Mikes is great for that. It's long been a solid Denton staple. They have Avoca coffee beans as a regular, and consistently offer different guest roasters. I don't like other coffee drinks, so great black coffee is all I need to be satisfied. And many places (especially chains) don't have that.

Its a good coffee place very near and dear to campus. Very good customer service. Variety of things to eat and drink. A bit pricy for college students. But overall good.

Look... I love Aura very much. It's a beautiful coffee shop with tasty coffee, awesome baristas, and a lovely central location relative to campus. But the music they play is AWFUL for having conversation, studying, etc. Frequently, they're playing metal music which is very disruptive. I don't mind metal music, but in a coffee shop, it makes getting work done very difficult.

Just opinions of someone who’s been going for 2 1/2 years. Only for drinks though!!! I would give this place a 3.8/5. Prices: Alright. 8oz is slightly more expensive than Starbucks (using starbucks as reference since they are notoriously expensive). For college students it’s not the worst but not great either, especially in this economy. But I haven’t found a place that makes matcha better. 3.9/5 Customer Service: Drinks are made in a timely manner. Don’t have a ‘the customers always right’ mentality. Cashiers are friendly and personable. Baristas, not so much. Can feel like college students with lax attitudes, bored and judgy at times. 3.8/5 Seating: Will find a table with 2 chairs with another person sitting, often times waiting for a drink, so you’ll have to sit with them if you want to dine in. Might get a table if you come less busy times. I was never able to sit inside, but they have some outside seating. 3.5/5 Atmosphere: Can be crowded, a bit noisy, but it’s okay. Has music that seems to be the workers personal taste. A bit of a hub for lgbtq, gen z, liberal, and female students at UNT. Can feel out of place for those who are not. 4/5 Convenience: Close to campus, used to have online website orders but it seems they got rid of it. Quick. 4/5 Extra: They give free bananas you can grab at the front and water is always free of charge. Overall, it’s worth checking out atleast once. It’s the best option for non-starbucks drinkers in this area Free 🇵🇸

Environment was a tad cold and uninviting, even with a scattering of indoor plants. Coffee was good, however, and the service was alright but nothing exceptional. My boyfriend and I checked it out. When we left we both felt kinda "meh" about the experience/place.

Service was friendly but the coffee here is overpriced for the quality they serve. I have never been happy with the coffee in all my trips to this place. The barista's friendly service is what gave it a 3 star rating than 2. My experience with their coffee has been so bad that they almost made me go to Starbucks as my choice for coffee. Only come here if its your only choice for coffee and if you don't mind sending $4.25 for 8 oz of an OK quality cappuccino.

It was ok. We were overall disappointed with the flavor of items we ordered. We tried several "signature drinks": Kool Keith was very good. The other 2 we're not. We tried strawberry smoothies, and they just went that flavorful (and not sweet enough). We also tried baked goods: brownie (was dry and a little bland), peanut butter cups Blondie/brownie was very good). We didn't try anything else. While service was good, and the place had a nice ambiance, it's not somewhere I would go specifically for coffee-related items

I really enjoy the drinks at Aura and like to come to the cafe to study pretty frequently. Often the music is a bit loud. Some of the baristas are very nice but quite a few lately have been very short with customers and have very negative attitudes.

best espresso in town, but ruined by poor customer service. the owner should step out of the way and stop scaring the customers. the barista taking my order tried to tell me my favorite drink is disgusting and tried to sell me something else. I'm far left (see other reviews) and these guys are just rude, whichever way you lean. Indy baristas are the worst. they know more about everything than anybody, and they're WAY too cool for you.

The food and coffee are pretty good. However, the food will be served cold. How a coffee shop that hires an on-location chef doesn't have a warming counter is beyond me. There is also no real sense of urgency, so if you need a quick coffee before class, you're better off going to Willis.

I’ve tried several different drinks now, and I would say the taste is simply not great. Their location has a ton of indoor plants but is unfortunately infested with gnats. My roommate has been with me, they brought out her order, didn’t call a name, and literally dumped it after 5 minutes. She had to inquire about it and they remade her drink. Employees have an un-inviting / judgemental undertone. Bucee’s coffee is better even I would recommend it.

This place has a lovely ambiance, and if you're looking to enjoy some music and a cozy atmosphere, it definitely offers that. However, the drinks we had didn’t quite live up to the same standard. My boyfriend ordered a chai latte, and I had an Earl Grey. Unfortunately, both drinks were a bit on the mild side. The chai latte had a light cinnamon flavor, and my Earl Grey tasted more like a sweet tea with just a hint of the traditional Earl Grey taste. While the setting is wonderful, I think the drinks could benefit from a bit more richness to match the overall experience.

I heard this place had good coffee so I decided to try it out. Not knowing what I wanted to order, as I heard this place has some unique drinks, I asked the barista what he recommended. I was literally laughed at, and then he proceeded to condescendingly ask me “what I always get I Starbucks”. I ended up with a horchata coffee, which was overly sweet anyway. Absolutely terrible service, and I will do my best to spread the word about my experience.

Of all the coffee shops in Denton I’ve tried I like this one the least. They play terrible music, the coffee is always weak and the customer service is hit or miss. Close to campus, so that’s good, but other shops are better. They may have been better before covid times. Hopefully they improve. I will try them again in a couple months.

Don't recall hearing a greeting when I came in; nor was I asked if this was my first time here. I like the many plants and that some are for sale. It was crowded so I decided to take my food and coffee to go. Small tables are available to eat outside. Disappointed with quality of Sister Rosetta; as I did not taste the coffee. I prefer a balanced latte. I was greatly disappointed that the tortilla was a little burnt on the edge and did not taste fresh. I do not know how you mess up scrambled egg. Furthermore, I did not taste the sausage in the bite I took. I understand this is close to campus and makes sense for the students. For those that can go elsewhere for more seating and better quality of coffee and food I highly recommend it.

The espresso here is good, served with seltzer, and staff is cute and friendly. This place only uses disposable cups and no plates. The baked goods were overpriced- cookie bar is hard as rock, and the muffins plain and stale.

Coffee is watery and do not get the pandan coffee they don’t even use real pandan. I only got it because in my culture pandan is used in many delicious deserts but this coffee is a disgrace. The drink even though tasted like a regular latte was especially watered down. Better getting Starbucks to be honest.

I really wanted to give this shop a chance. We came in on Saturday mornin’, it was our first time. The atmosphere was dead and the guy at the front seemed to be so uptight he could break , my partner tried to break the ice by cracking a silly joke. About coffee being like liquid crack as many can refer to it as that. The guy just seemed so hostile towards us. He was quick to tell us we came to the wrong place, when it was clearly a joke. Strike one maybe he was warning us of the service before hand. Although this should’ve been our cue to get to the front door. I tried to really give them the benefit of the doubt… Unfortunately the following was just the lousy customer service We let the ‘barista’ —if you can even call the guy that and ask for his suggestion, he was plain and dry to hit us with the ‘ these are our syrups and can do anything’.. Clearly but do you have premade list of drinks? Your most liked drinks, maybe start there?. Having DECENT customer service isn’t rocket science. Strike Two I blame this on the owner maybe allowing subpar service, and lousy staff as just good enough.. unsure 🫤 Good business falls under all categories. Not just the face of the store. Suggestion? check up on your staff… 🌟✨To sum up my experience these are my take aways: 🌟✨ #1 -0/5 service. If someone had not told you. You’ll have to see People of all shades and walks of life. Thank you for responding to my review. I understand your concern to know the reason behind the one star. I went to Aura Coffee at about 4 to 5 pm. The coffee did not taste right, it felt like it was made earlier that day. There were people who were speaking loudly that i needed to put my headphone in me ears to be able to read my book. No one cared to ask them to be quieter so other customers could enjoy their reading or studying. I understand y'all care about those customers but as a customer myself, id rather chill and drink my coffee in a quietier place. I wish this business all the best.

I spent entire semesters here studying, and while the atmosphere is great, it is marred by the mediocre service, attitude, drinks and food. By the time of my graduation, I had probably tried every item on the menu. Truthfully, when I first started at UNT, back in 2022, it was great. However, as time went on, particularly in 2023, the attitude of the baristas, and the quality of both the food and drinks spiraled. The quality of both the drink and food would be highly dependent upon who was making it. Some drinks would be fantastic, others would be watered down, bland, and even slimy at times. When asked to remedy the issue, many of the baristas would either ignore me, roll their eyes at me, or refuse to help because " if I remake it, it's just going to taste the same." Truthfully, I hope this establishment the best, but I encourage you all to do better or you're going to continue to have poor reviews.

This place used to rock it, many years ago all the drinks and food were delicious. Now.. not so much. The coffee is terrible, always tastes burnt, the iced drinks are so watered down I could barely taste the flavoring. Muffins were like lead and they don't have the 'spicy pig' anymore. Pass. Just go to the Union and spend 1.75 on Voltage, it's better.

I was upfront with the barista about my caffeine sensitivity--halfway through my "decaf" latte I am trembling and my heart is racing. The person who helped me was dismissive while I was asking about decaf options as well as when I returned to ask if he had any info about the caffeine content of the 'decaf' concentrate. Not sure if I was given regular espresso or if there is something wrong with the decaf. Please be cautious.
