Really unique place with food trucks , indoor and outdoor seating. We moved to the inside bar that had huge selection. Amazing selection of Tequila and whiskeys. Also an insane beer menu. Very friendly crowd. Excellent service.

This is our go-to bar when in Denton. They have a very wide variety of beers on tap. Despite the long menu, each beer is described nicely to help you pick the perfect one for you. The atmosphere is chill and laid back, the patio is huge (and has heaters in cold weather), and the food trucks are a bonus.

Great place; extensive beer and whiskey selection. The back patio is very large with food trucks just outside. This place is popular with locals and visitors alike. It can get busy but I’ve never felt too crowded. Parking is what parking is downtown; luck of the draw.

I have no idea how I haven't left East Side a review already... This is one of the best bars in the Metroplex. The staff is amazing, the insane selection of beer and spirits is really impressive, and the atmosphere is fun and relaxed during the day and ramps up at night. They've always got food trucks outside, and expect to see 5 or more on the weekends. Their location is also great, just one block off the Denton square and a short walking distance (or literally next-door) to other bars and restaurants. There's also plenty of free parking across the street or just up the road if that lot is full. I can't speak highly enough of this place, the staff, and the owners. They're all great people who make everyone from all walks of life feel truly welcomed. I don't know a single person who has had a negative experience here. If you haven't already, check this place out!!

My boyfriend took me here for an afternoon drink. We ended up getting another drink bc we were enjoying the atmosphere so much. Definitely recommend. Everyone was so nice and pleasant to talk to. Drinks were good and not over priced in my option. We will be back for sure.

If you are looking for a great place to grab a beer and watch the game. This is the place for you! There are over 80 beers to try from and they even had a few $3 dollar drafts. I have never been to a bar that just brings in chicken wings to have for free. It's a little loud inside but there is also plenty of outside seating and food trucks outside. An awesome place to catch the game and have a beer with friends.

This beer garden is a top pick for me locally. It offers an extensive variety of beers, and I particularly enjoy playing darts as they have two boards setup inside. The range of food trucks is impressive, and I consistently have a great experience there!

This is a really cool place. Very expansive so you can bring large groups of friends. Excellent variety of on tap beers. I had a sour that was really good. I wish I could remember the name of it. It has a cool atmosphere with a fairly young vibe. I definitely recommend it.

One of the best bars in Denton. You can tell by how absolutely packed it is on a Friday or Saturday night. Yet they usually have more than enough bartenders to keep the lines moving when ordering drinks. Huge draft beer selection with your usual shots and cocktails as well. East Side has a TON of outdoor seating that is dog friendly. The outdoor seating is also surrounded by some amazing food truck options. This place is the best in Denton for many reasons. If you like to go out, this bar with 77 beers on tap. Goes hard with it. Bartenders will get you going on your kraft beer of choice. If you don't know what to get they will recommend you something that may just become your favorite.

There were almost 80 beers on tap, which is a blessing and a curse - definite option anxiety. There is an outdoor bar setup with limited taps as well. East Side is definitely one of our favorite places to swing by for a beer when we're in Denton.

The beer is super delicious, me, and my father tried four different beers and each one of them was really great. Super cool bartender and the prices were really inexpensive. If you need a beer, stop and get one.

Large place with huge patio. Visited when they were having the Crawfish boil and the food, live music and cold beer was a slice of heaven. The place was stuffed to the gills so the beer line was long but they were moving as fast as they could and they were as polite as could be.

This was a bar we used to all frequent. Small, humble atmosphere, attentive and efficient bartenders who will listen to you, and give you suggestions. Music isn't so loud and overbearing so you could actually hear the bartender and your friends. The drinks are fairly cheap but don't compromise in taste. The shots are full shots. They have various types of drinks advertised, at the time it was December and we all got this hot coco drink with hot coco spiked with vodka, topped off with optional whipped cream and marshmallows. There's a spacious outdoors patio with seating benches and these torch-lights to keep you warm. There's an area where you could toss a bean bag into a hole with friends. Inside, there's a place where you could throw darts. The restrooms are decent. Pretty popular bar with a good reputation. I loved coming here with my friends at the time.

Such an amazing experience! They have some of the best beers on tap that I’ve ever seen! one of the best selections I’ve seen in all of DFW! Also, last time I was there, I ended up locking my keys in my car, the employees were so helpful and allowed me to use a charger to charge my phone as well as their phones to call someone to come and help me out! Without them, I would’ve been stranded for who knows how long and I will always be grateful for them helping me out in this situation! Genuinely if you were one of the people who helped me out tonight thank you so much you know who you are! I wish nothing but great experiences to you!

east side has been my favorite bar in town since i moved to denton 7 years ago. always lots of fun beers on tap, the bartenders are kind, and there are plenty of food trucks to choose from if that’s your thing.

This is a great place. They have more beer on tap than I can count. Outdoor seating accommodates a lot of people and groups.

We went to downtown Denton for the first time to attend the Denton Wine walk. It is a really nice area with great shops, restaurants and bars. The wine walk was a great way to see the shops and area.

I was in Denton for the day and stopped by here. Great spot. Huge beer list (lots of texas beers too) and a good whiskey selection as well. No food here but there was a food truck yard right behind the bar. None were open when we went but would come back to check those out in the future. Good, dogfriendly outdoor area too.

Eastside is a go to place for us when we go to visit Denton. They have a fabulous beer selection and that staff is usually really friendly. There's a huge outside patio in the back that connects to the Austin Street Food Truck Yard, so it's the perfect place to get a beer, some food, and watch a game. Plus the outside patio area is very dog friendly, has umbrellas in the summer, and heaters in the winter.

I can't believe it's taking me this long to get to this bar. They have the best whiskey selection I've ever seen in my life and they're scotch whiskey selection. Had some things I've never seen before which always gets me excited.

Amazing place to be a beer, they have so many options, literally 4 screens full of options. Roughly around 80 something options iirc. You can buy a beer and drink it inside or you can go outside where there are a bunch of tables. They have a projector running movies always, makes for a great atmosphere, it can be loud but it being so open makes it easy to talk while moving us running! They have about 7-8 food trucks, with lots of different vibes and options. Highly recommended

Wife and I went here last night for date night, had a great time catching up and people-watching. The selection was superb as always and we were pleasantly surprised with the variety of mixed drinks they provide on-site. It made my wife's taste buds very happy. The area was well-lit but not blinding and the umbrella covers helped thwart the suns rays and accompanying heat. Their partnerships with the food trucks served us well as there was no shortage of options from which to choose. The staff stayed focused and busy, doing their due diligence to keep things clean, customers satisfied, and glasses full. We will be sure to swing by again in the future.

TL:DR Over 50 beers, great outdoor sitting and food trucks if you are feeling hungry and pets are welcome! At first it might look like your typical sports bar but once you grab a beer, talk to the staff and seat down, you'll love the place. Inside might be a bit loud close to the pool table and the darts but nothing distracting. Outside is really great having booths tables and a small lounge area for bigger groups. One great thing about this place is that it has food trucks right in front of the outside tables. So if you have a big case of the munchies you can grab some Vietnamese sandwiches, Mexican food, BBQ and more! First time ever here and gotta say, I will definitely return for another round. Came back during the summer and they have a barber shop in their patio. Wanna get trim while drinking? This is your place to go!

Good selection of food trucks if you're hungry. The drinks are a bit on the expensive side if you ask me. $10 for a Western Sun and soda with a lime seems a little over the top. That being said, the staff our Top Notch and it's hard to beat the atmosphere here.

This was a nice place, we were here at 1 pm on a Saturday. The inside atmosphere was really nice. They had so many beers on tap. However most of the cocktails are pre-made. I don't know if that is a good or a bad thing. The outdoor space looked amazing but it was too hot for that on a Saturday at 1pm. They did have fans out there so it def would have been tolerable for most at night time or dusk. There was lots of seating in the back patio area with plenty of picnic tables. We didn't get to try the food as we had just eaten but everybody else seemed to enjoy. They did have live music that started at 3 and 7pm. We didn't stay to wait for it. This is def someplace we would visit again if we were close to the denton area.

Quiet is not the pervading theme. This is a bar with little to no wait staff- you que up at the bar for service. A LOT of beers with somewhat circumspect selection of 'better' liquors. For beer drinking at the outside picnic tables in back, nails it.

I'd give them 3✨ instead of 5✨, but I'd worry that I'd be the jerk here. Drafthouse level selection when it comes to the number of options you have to drink from. Definitely the place you want to go if you want a place to hang with friends, family, or coworkers. I'm here late, but there is so much space that I can't imagine it being hard on a busier night to pick your spot and hang for a while. Lots of beer, cider, etc options. and even this one that tasted like tart grape/berry juice with only a hint of a taste to signal that it was an alcoholic drink, super stinking good. I just did a taste tester here, but I'm sure if you are buying they will let you try more, I just asked them about the one since it was different (I don't drink anymore, so I'm not the fanatic you want to ask about alcohol options, but I thought it'd be good to note for the drinkers out there that like ciders and wanted a berry cider). I changed it from a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ rating to a ⭐⭐⭐⭐ rating because of the whole dart scenario and them complaining in a rude and ineffective way to me about not throwing the darts "hard" at their dart boards that are so beaten that unless you're throwing it hard enough you wont get a dart to stick to the bullseye. I started with lighter throws just to make it a relaxing round of throwing darts, but nothing was sticking if it hit on the bullseye or even the 6" diameter around the bullseye. I try to give as much as I take, I'm constantly trying to not be a bother since I struggle anyways feeling like I belong on this planet, but maybe I was throwing them hard. I gave a $2 tip just for getting the taster I did (since I changed my mind and didnt want to be a bother) and for answering the questions I had about their selections, and for the hassle of loaning me 3 darts to shoot darts for a little bit.... So that's why it's kind of ridiculous to shout (maybe more of a holler) across the bar at me for 3 rounds until I just happen to realize "oh shit, the guy is *actually* talking at me." It's more just an odd choice for them than a rude choice, but I just felt like they treated me a little like I came in and asked for service but then didn't tip, was messy in person or in behavior, and like I was the insane one for trying to throw darts at a dartboard with the amount of force it would take to stick. It was like forfeiting all bullseyes, basically knocking a bunch of the shots towards the floor as they bounce off, to still have them treat me like I was stupid and excessive and wasn't trying to be careful.

Can get extremely crowded but the energy is generally good and the service is great. Food trucks are nice and consistent.

They have a huge beer list and it's on untappd so you can see what you want without the boards. They have a great space and outdoor. And the outdoor space is dog friendly. The only complaint is that you have to go wait in line at the bar for beer and it can be slow.

I love this place for drink options and seating but they have one major flaw. They desperately need to ban smoking in the outdoor, covered area right outside the bar. It's unacceptable to allow it in a transitional area between outdoor and inside. IF you allow smoking at all at the business, it spike be around the corner and outside. I would make this 5/5 if staff would actually stop people from smoking where they shouldn't be.

Great outdoor seating and beer selection. Dog friendly. I went for Happy hour on a Friday 3-6 pm. 1 out of 6 bartentrs was friendly. You go to the bar to get your drinks, no servers. Several food trucks by there that smelled good.

Thank you everyone that stopped by to support us yesterday when it's cold & chilly outside. The bar has artisan market in the outside patio every 3rd sunday i believe. They have few food trucks. The nacho & fried were excellent. They have vietnamese food truck. I got the hoagie with pork and i have to say it's good but the price is 2x compare to what i'd get from the supermarket. I understand why and dont mind to pay as i want to support local owners. We met great people & customers except the fact that we have to deal with the coordinator who action was unprofessional when we were with a customer. The customer had to leave when the coordinator began to speak loud but then the customer came back after the person left our booth and told us how unprofessional the coordinator was knowing we were helping the customer and we had to apologize for it. Never eaten here or had the beers. This is a place that we pass through for a shot when we are at Denton County Brewing. We start at Denton County, come through here at Eastside for a shot, then Miss Angelines for a cocktail, and finish up back at Denton County Brewing. The shots are good, and the atmosphere is generally busy and loud but not bad. The servers take a minute to get to you, though, and usually aren't good for recommendations. Or at least haven't been the few times I've asked them. But they are quick to get you what you ordered when they do get to you and have never had any major issues here. They have a big outside seating area that is adjacent to the food trucks, so it is generally busy and active. Summer is the best time to visit. The food trucks smell awesome, there are lots of dogs to pet, and the crowd is mostly easygoing. They are an easy place to stop at for some drinks and snacks with friends or alone, hard to not enjoy the area if anything.

Came here from South Dakota for a wedding excited to have a fun night. Got to east side got a drink and sat on the large patio. Went back in almost an hour or so later with my girl friends trying to get a shot and a beverage. Out of no where the bartender decided to cut me off. I asked if I did something wrong like falling or yelling (which I knew I didnt) and I was insecure that I did something wrong since Iv literally never been kicked or cut off from a bar. They explained to me that one bartender decided I wasn’t ok to be served again therefore I couldn’t ask why I was being “cut off” to be so honest I’m writing this review as I got kicked out. As it was embarrassing and unnecessary. I was a good tipping and paying customer. They can show the records. I’m not one to get drunk to the point where I get kicked out. There were MANY people in the establishment beyond drunker than I was. I asked coherently about why this was happening to me and they made me feel beyond stupid for asking why I’m being cut off. He told me “well your eyes are red” I explained, “well of course they are I woke up to travel here at 4:30AM..” I would never write a review if I didn’t feel so strongly about how this bar treated me.

Every time I come in this place they charge me double or doubles when I only ask for a single, I called them out once and one dude apologized, I just came again and some other dude did it again? He said I didn't specify not double? And they only pour doubles? But I never specified a double either. This shit keeps happening and they just play that shit off blaming me. Idk shit seems like they're taking advantage of ppl.

Had a rare night out with my husband this evening. Wanted to try an establishment we haven't been to before, being long time Denton residents. We both had one beverage a piece and when my husband went to order us a second round he was told we were being kicked out. Without explanation other than "we have a bartender group chat and we determined we would no longer serve you."... My husband was upset, but we left cordially. Have absolutely no idea what happened. But will without a doubt never be back or recommend this establishment to anyone. A rare night out ruined without explanation. Q

This place is serving spoiled beer, and won't even admit it when called out. They've (allegedly) got the Lakewood All Call Kölsch on tap 42 at the time of writing. It's either mislabeled, or has spoiled beyond all recollection. It smells super boozey, like a bourbon aged beer, and has a medicinal taste. Classic signs of spoilage, and the bartenders wouldn't even taste it or check the keg to see if it was mislabeled. That just tells me they know, yet they keep serving it. Sure, there's a great selection, but you're really rolling the dice! The beer pictured doesn't even look like a Kölsch, which might be one thing, if it wasn't so clearly spoiled or mislabeled.

Great drinks, but I don't think the male bartender who was there around 5pm today likes being employed at a bar nor do I feel as if he is particularly fond of Black people- allegedly.... He was rude, I'd never been to this bar before and when I walked up he didn't say a word. Then, when I asked if they had specials or if it was Happy Hour he said, "it's Wednesday, they are right in front of you". He doesn't seem to see a problem with how he spoke to us women of color, but yet we watched him be very friendly with everyone else. Then, when we moved to another bartender he continued to speak to us in a rude manner- saying that she was doing the same thing that she was when she was clearly friendly and inviting. I have asked for a manager to reach out to me to which I was told, "there are no managers here right now". I was also not told the name of this rude, young man. Y'all can have this bar...

WORST EXPERIENCE! NEVER GOING BACK! We had the most RUDE waitress Maria/Mariah. Such a horrible attitude and was completely rude so because of her we will NEVER be coming back. Usually go with a 10-15 person group who spend a good amount of money but none of us will ever be coming back. She does not need to work in the service industry with the attitude/personality she has. Do something about her or your restaurant will loose a LOT of business.

They dont allow motorcycle clubs be it military, Christian, or other.... their loss

It feels like a poor man’s version of truckyard. There is only one big screen so you have to hope it’s the game you want. The staff creates an authoritative hierarchy and isn’t a fan of consumer feedback. The beer is mid at best as most of the menu is lacking depth which is disappointing with how many options they have. If you’re looking to experience Denton while having a drink, this is not the place for you. Check out harvest house or oak street drafthouse to really feel denton.

My girlfriend was just there for Day of the dead festival. She walked over to get food and a drink. There are umbrellas out for a reason. She opened the umbrella and she was booed and was told to close it. What is the worst part is management came and closed it and took it away. If you want your customers to bake in the sun. Then maybe you shouldn’t have the umbrellas out! When management pulled the umbrella. The ignorant men/people cheered and yelled at a 6 year old boy! How old are people at East Side bar!? We will never go back and if you are treating customers like this. I would tell all my friends to never go to East Side bar!

If you’re planning on going to east side to see movies with children DO NOT!!!! East side was having an October movie night and I was trying to see the movie with my daughter and the bouncers WOULD NOT LET US IN. They have a sign at EVERY ENTRANCE that states under 21 are allowed with a parent/guardian. They did not let me in the establishment because they said I look too young to be the guardian. I am at a loss for words. When facts met opinions my jaw dropped. I asked if they needed legal documents or what kind of proof I needed to provide and they said there is no proof that’s just not how it works. I understand anybody in the bar has the ability to refuse service and that I understand. I am just extremely upset that I wasn’t able to spend time with my daughter watching a scary movie while supporting local businesses. I am in awe that somebody can tell me “that’s not how it works” when I pay her bills and support her life.
