Solid!! Great tacos and excellent rice! The cook can cook for sure. The 2 bottles of salsa were excellent also. I liked using both green and red for a medium/spicy sauce. This place is underrated slightly I think. If I had one complaint it would be I like having chips n salsa but the food came out very quickly so it wasn’t an issue. For $15 this place is great lunch spot.
Very good food. Quick service. no waiters
A friend told me about this place. I had some beef street tacos and they were amazing. They recommended me their salsa. Very spicy for me but still good. I will share with my friends about this restaurant.
I was here to pick up online orde yesterday 10/04 since a coworker recommend this place to me. It was near my work and it was ready when I arrived and I got the entree gorditas - carnitas ( 3 small size gorditas with a whole jalapeno and sauces). It was filling and delicious and it is worth $13. I am looking forwarded to return back and try there other items and aqua frescas.
**Review: Delicious Tacos, But at What Cost?** These tacos are *damn* good—fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and just the right amount of heat. Every bite is a reminder of why I love Mexican food. But holy hell, $15 for a taco plate? I feel like I’m getting violated with a smile. Yeah, the quality is there, and yeah, maybe the ambiance is cute, but my wallet is crying. I get that prices are up everywhere, but charging near-fine-dining prices for two tacos and some rice feels criminal. Delicious? Absolutely. Worth the financial pain? Debatable. If you’ve got cash to burn, go feast. If not, maybe pray for a happy hour miracle. 🌮💸
This is such a great little place! They have amazing classic breakfasts, and we recently discovered how tasty their pozole is! Super flavorful, full of hominy with fresh toppings. I’m always on the lookout for a pozole that compares to my mom’s, and this one comes pretty darn close! Also, the staff is so sweet and friendly! Plus they have warm churros for dessert.
It’s hard to find a good authentic Mexican restaurant after living in Mexico. But I sure was amazed when I decided to give this a try while taking care of my mother in Denton. The best Gorditas I’ve had since I lived in the ranch!! The rice was so soft and perfect flavors. The elote was amazing like a little place in Kansas I frequent! I couldn’t ask for more!!
EDIT: I LOVE this place, I keep coming back over and over again, all their food is AMAZING! great flavors and amazing staff, keep it up you guys <3 I’ve seen someone else review on the medium-waiting time but just wanted to say this is not a fast food restaurant. The food is completely fresh made so if keep that in mind :) you get what you pay and wait for and good quality takes time. Old review: I ordered on the phone and all directions were followed correctly. Went to pick it up, great efficient and friendly staff. It’s a pretty location. I ordered cactus gorditas. (I love the meatless options!) The food was so tasty, everyone in Denton should try this place at least once in their lifetime. The gorditas were so soaked in the sauce from the cactus stew, it was the only thing I could taste. I wish I would have been able to eat the Gordita with my hands as it’s supposed to or taste the beans and lettuce in it. I will definitely give this place a second try, hopefully our food won’t be soaked then ;) I would recommend coming to this place as they have great prices and a good selection of Mexican antojitos :)
I was at QT getting gas & I was starving trying to decide if anything what to get to eat at QT.... and then I noticed this YUMMY place. I've always driven by but never stopped - so glad I did and I'll be back. The asada tacos are freaking amazing!! I had gotten my order to go but the food smelled so good I had to sit down and take a quick bite!!! If your in the mood for authentic Mexican food this is your place!!
The food was great, we ordered the carne asada torta without the ham, and 3 gorditas ( nopales, and one of barbacoa... EXCELLENT ! The salsa's were amazing. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because this was our first visit, and I felt extremely rushed. You order and the counter, and then find a table.
This is my favorite place to get flautas in Denton. The salsa verde is very good slightly spicy but nothing unbearable. I don’t like their rice it’s a little dry so, I opt out of order them. The service her is great and everyone is friendly. The only thing is they are a little pricey for the portion.
I had the chorizo and egg plate and It was plentiful and delicious. I noticed that they serve menudo every day. I'll be back to try. I'm back to try out the menudo and chorizo and egg plate again. I my ratings went down. The menudo had a good taste but I have tasted better and I am used to having hominy in it. The chorizo and egg was dry today.
Decent food taste but a lot of gristle in the meat. Which took away from a pleasant eating experience
Let me say not all Mexican/Latin food is the same and depending on the region the food is coming from, you'll get different variations of the same food and y'all should know my preferences are biased towards the El Paso-chihuahua flavors. Now, my family and i had the sopes de pollo and asada, tacos de lengua, quesadillas, and a torta. The meats were well cooked, tender, and flavorful. The consensus was that the beans were really good, but the rice was a little different but still ok. The maiz from the sope was rock hard on the edges, so that was a bit unfortunate. The customer service was rough around the edges, pushy, rushed, and came off a bit snarky. All of this may sound terrible, but depending on your own personality, it can come off comical at the end and wouldn't deter us from coming back again lol
We purchased two burritos for 27+tax and we get home had to run one more errand and the burritos were soggy. The sour cream should be let on the side if it’s Togo you don’t know what the person has to deal with to get home weather it be traffic a crying baby or something else like a fast errand. In turn our money was wasted. The first time here was a let down. We should not have to tell you what to do in order to make the best burrito. And on top of that all we tasted was beans barley any meat on the burritos. For what we paid which is super high priced for just one burrito not sides with it is ridiculous in my opinion. I will try it again maybe but I will definitely order differently. So I’m sure it’s a pretty good burrito just bad timing.
Tried the chilaquiles with fried eggs, well I am originally from Mexico, and well when you trow salsa and chips on a skillet that is not chilaquiles that's cutting corners, home fries too large to be well cooked, eggs over cooked and no more salsa to pour on you're plate barely came with a fork it's a combination of fast food order and once you are served well there's no waiter to come and ask if you are ok or satisfied!! Will come back but will be ordering something else less dissapointing!disappointing! For $19.00 I could of done it better my self! I bet the cooks make better breakfast for them selves back there!! And they don't pay for them!
I have gone to all the locations in denton and all of them have something in common the menudo meet is darker then an old tire. The food it used to be good like four years ago, now is just overpriced and nasty ppl serve u like they don't want to be there.
Save your money. There are far better places to eat. The staff, specifically the Hispanic man with the glasses is extremely rude. He acted annoyed immediately upon ordering and had a bad attitude. It was $13 for a bean and cheese burrito. The other food was decent but not worth the price. We need to show these restaurants that they can't stay in business with bad service and old food that's overpriced. Believe the reviews and go elsewhere.
