Vaudeville is a Fredericksburg gem, praised for its elegant ambiance, exceptional service (especially from Joe and Luca), and delicious food. The restaurant can get noisy when busy. Reservations are recommended, especially during peak times.

Food was fantastic, service was exceptional! We were glad to be able to get in on an early Friday evening with no reservations. We stayed simple with pizza and beers and it was all around great! Cozy, dim atmosphere.
Can't wait to go back..I would say it's def more of a lunch than brunch place. Only a few "breakfast" type items but we ordered the fried chicken special and the wagyu french dip...not a detail missed and large portions and beautiful plating. It is def on the pricer side at $15 for a mimosa seemed steep but the food was delish.
Vaudeville in Fredericksburg is an absolute gem. The ambiance beautifully captures the elegance and charm of the late 19th century, creating a refined yet inviting atmosphere from the moment you walk in. The service was truly exceptional attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely warm throughout the entire experience. Our server took the time to explain dishes, offer thoughtful recommendations, and made sure everything arrived perfectly timed. You could tell there was a strong attention to detail and pride in hospitality across the entire staff, which elevated the meal even more. The Buttermilk Fried Chicken was outstanding, easily one of the highlights and cooked to perfection. While they do accept walk ins, I highly recommend making a reservation to ensure you get a table. This is a must visit spot when in Fredericksburg!
During the lunch and holiday rush, a reservation was a lifesaver. Make a reservation on Resy!!! We ordered a beer, a brut rose, burrata, beef carpaccio, grilled cheese for our 2 year old, and French dips (1 for each of us). Ended the meal with croissants, which were lovely. The champagne was delightful, food was incredible, and service was good. They were BUSY, but still managed to get us in right at our reservation time. Had to ask a couple of times/wait extended time for a few things, but otherwise the service was stellar. Definitely recommend. We will be back!
Food was excellent and so was the service. Luca took great care of us and explained the menu wonderfully. He kept us informed about each next course and helped with drink pairings. The food was nicely prepared and looked amazing. It was very flavorful and seasoned to perfection. Also, the portions were pretty decent for a fine dining restaurant. The duck confit was cooked perfectly and the cookies tasted fresh and home made. The only possible negative I could say would be the atmosphere. The restaurant is gorgeous but with the lack of sound deadening it get pretty loud and you find yourself almost yelling at your date. It doesn't make for the most romantic experience but its still better than half the other restaurants in Fredericksburg in terms of food, ambiance, service and quality. Definitely give it a try. Be sure to make a reservation though. They get booked up.
We were able to secure a pretty last-minute reservation for this restaurant (about 2 days before) and I am so glad that we chose this place! Every aspect of our visit was exceptional. We requested a table away from aisles and commotion because we were celebrating our anniversary. I wasn't expecting our request to be granted because so often the hostesses completely ignore requests, but my night was made, when they walked us through the restaurant, seemingly leading us to a 2-seat table between a dozen other tables against the wall, and then all the sudden we saw our table peaking out from behind a stairwell.. We were given a 4-top with an arrangement of red roses (they were faux but they looked so real). The hostess wished us a happy anniversary, and my night was made! The $14 cab was a generous glass, and it was delicious. The server allowed us to personalize our charcuterie board which was great. My wife told her she loves creamy cheeses, so our board had a brie and another very similar cheese to a brie as well as several other delicious bites on it. It was super filling and absolutely delicious. I got the French dip and it was probably the most delicious French dip I have ever had. I can't wait to go back.
This place lived up to its food reviews. My daughters had Quiche both said delicious. The Phillip was cooked perfect n delicately. My Ruben sandwich was perfectly made. Marble bread was fresh n sliced perfect to allow bread to corn beef ratio come through. The corn beef was lean yet tender and flavorful and just right amount. The only knock is there signature dishes (didn’t get so maybe unfair) because I saw it coming out and only 2 piece of chicken for $34 .. that’s too expensive . But if people buying it good for them. An inviting atmosphere nice people watching. Service was attentive.
Lovely brunch at Vaudeville this weekend. Definitely recommend getting there early as it is very popular with limited seating. I expected the menu to have more brunch items but it really seemed like a lunch menu with very few breakfast items. However, the Sunday fried chicken special was delightful, and I’m glad we got it. The chicken was well-seasoned and crispy with very flavorful potatoes and greens on the side. They need to add a Bloody Mary to the brunch menu and take care of the fly problem downstairs but it certainly wasn’t keeping any guests away. The decor and atmosphere are elegant and tasteful making this a great option for your Fredericksburg getaway weekend. Cheers!
What a phenomenal dining experience. We visited Vaudeville on July 26th and were completely delighted with every single dish. The evening began with the Charred Pulpo, which was incredibly tender and perfectly seasoned — a fantastic start. The Akaushi Beef was cooked to perfection, rich and flavorful, easily one of the best steaks we've ever had. We also tried the Chorizo Salamanca, which brought a smoky, savory punch, and ended the meal on a sweet note with the Dark Chocolate Pot de Crème — silky, decadent, and beautifully balanced. Paired with two glasses of Malbec Corazon del Sol, it was an exquisite culinary moment. The atmosphere was elegant yet comfortable, and our server Gabriela M was warm, attentive, and professional. The presentation, flavor, and service were all top-tier. Highly recommend Vaudeville for a refined, memorable experience in Fredericksburg. Every bite was a delight. 🔥
Vaudeville is an extraordinary shop and bistro! We always enjoy the food here- fresh ingredients, creative dishes and great proportions! The staff is outstanding time and time again, particularly Joe was incredibly personable yet attentive to our needs today, ensuring our dining experience was smooth and enjoyable. We love y’all and can’t wait to come back!
On Wednesday, the soup was a beef and vegetable. I would have reduced the salt for my personal taste but it was a soup like one would find in any restaurant in France and perfectly fine.would love to have been here on Sunday to try their fried chicken. Today was grilled salmon day and Irene ordered it while I went with a Reuben to check out their bread. The Reuben was superb. One of the best that I've ever had. Just perfect. Salmon in a miso broth seemed smart as miso isn't strong enough a flavor profile to compete with and thus, ruin, the salmon flavor profile. I have a thing about chefs who garnish a salmon (or just about anything) with bitter micro greens cause it looks pretty (that you bite into and they ruin the other more subtle flavors). So miso seems a good choice as is white pepper for this dish. The pistachio tiramisu was “interesting ”, but I wonder if they are using salted pistachios? If so, I note that this is a mistake. Switch to unsalted. Still, we did finish it between the two of us. But it was unpleasantly salty and I would recommend against it. Weird that the restaurant focuses on non local wines (Europe and California) when Fredericksburg is in the heart of the Texas wine country. Are they saying that the local wines suck? You'd think they'd try to find and champion the best of the locals instead of wines easily available elsewhere. A lot of times, when persons in the kitchen come from other cultures/countries, they may be trained to follow a recipe but may not necessarily have the culinary cultural map to know how to make minor adjustments before putting an entree out for consumption.
*dog friendly* beautiful little eatery (downstairs) with a cute lil shop on the first floor. The pork belly tacos are delicious and with the eggplant purée- wow! And for dessert the pistachio tiramisu is a must! Four stars because the service was not that great and our waitress definitely rushed us out.
This restaurant is arguably the fanciest restaurant in Fredericksburg, the closest thing to “fine dining” they have. However, this is Fredericksburg so don’t let that intimidate you - the restaurant is upscale but still affordable & easy enough to get a reservation at even on a holiday. There is no dress code, we had lunch here on Mother’s Day and saw plenty of shorts & sandals. It’s easily accessible from the main shopping district, once you arrive at the building just go down the stairs on the left - the restaurant itself is underground in the basement. Note that it is dark, moody lighting and loud but pleasant music. There is comfy bench seating and the service at the host stand was great, he found our reservation and walked us to our table quickly. Our waitress was a little slow and confused, definitely not fine dining table service but it was all fine. The menu selection for lunch was limited, one daily special and then just casual finger foods - sandwiches, pizza, salads and soups. They did have a vegetarian sandwich and pizza options which I really appreciated. Our appetizer was fine, we did the Mediterranean snack plate. I wish they had some higher end or trendier apps and sides or more hot fork and knife food options for lunch. Even adding fries to the menu would have been a big improvement. Overall none of the food was really impressive but the ambiance was worth it, considering the lack of upscale and luxury dining in Fredericksburg we will definitely be returning to try out dinner.
We split a delicious 😋 French Dip & I still couldn’t finish it all. The waitress was very attentive & the food great. The only drawback was once the restaurant became busy it was very noisy & hard to hear. We were sat at the front of the restaurant. Perhaps it is quieter further back. They sat a very large party of 12 & the balance of their party at a round table of 8. All the woman were there together. We wish they would have set us further back since we were the 2nd table to arrive on 8/5. Also, our bill was $110 & the two couples each split a meal, plus 2 people had a cup of soup. Two of us drank water, a Coke & a Mimosa.
Decent food, decent wait staff, but terrible service from the hostess. This might be a five star review if not for her. We arrived at 11:50 AM on a quiet Thursday, but all the tables for two in the main dining were taken so the hostess, who seemed inexplicably annoyed by our arrival, told us it was either a shared table or outdoor seating. She led us outside, gave us menus, and then promptly forgot about us. After more than thirty minutes of sitting and waiting to order in the December cold snap weather, we walked back in asking to be reseated because no waiter had ever come to take our order. The hostess rolled her eyes and smirked as she told us we'd need to go to the end of the line, which had gotten longer in the intervening 40 minutes. She never gave us even the slightest hint of a smile or warmth, much less a proper apology like you'd typically expect after a service screw-up of this kind at other sit-down restaurants. We were able to finally get a table in the indoor dining area and place our order with a waiter 20 minutes later (a full hour from when we'd arrived) and fortunately we had our food 15 minutes after that. The food is pretty good with boutique-y ingredients and cooking methods, and it's plated very photogenically. Although the flavors are somewhat muted and bland, it's head and shoulders above what you might usually expect from a small-town bistro. Could be a good place for a date or lunch meeting, provided a different hostess is working that day and you can actually get someone to take your order.
We chose Vaudeville to celebrate our anniversary and were incredibly disappointed. The atmosphere felt dirty right away due to fruit flies, and our server was inattentive, she only appeared to drop off our meals. My $49 fish had an olive pit in it, which I nearly chipped a tooth on, and we never had the chance to address it because no one checked on us. Even after our server said management was aware, no one came over. For the price and reputation, this experience was unacceptable. We won’t be returning.
