Avis sur Louise's Fish & Chips El Segundo
This place was awesome!! I was on a mini staycation with my wife and we couldn't decide what to eat. The place we originally wanted to eat was downtown which we didn't do alot of research and long story short we were so hungry of driving around downtown just looking for parking that we end up craving some fish and chips. We came across Louise's fish and chips and my wife and I was satisfied!👏 We ordered a Fam meal came with 6 pcs of fish and 20 pcs of shrimp with fries. I know your wondering all that for the two of you, lol. We like to order so we could eat later, don't judge us🤣any who the food came and it was yummy for the tummy! They're definitely not shy with their portions! Everything was nicely crispy and the fish was not small it was a pretty big size, and the fries weren't the usual nasty fries that comes with fish and chips it was all tasty options will definitely visit next time I'm in the area!
This has to be the best fish and chips in town clean fresh and delicious!!! Had there fish and prawn combo and it did not disappoint and it was only 14.00$ made it even better will be back!!!
Best darn fish and chips and prawns I have ever had !! I moved from San Diego to Livermore and a ton of people had told me to try this place out and I did and boy this place did not disappoint at all. The food was amazing the place was spotless. The people were friendly couldn’t ask for a better place to have dinner, and the price was just perfect. Couldn’t ask for a better night. I will definitely be going back to this place. Thank you so much for having pride in your food.
Always good… never a bad meal and stays consistent… try to hit up this spot when I’m in the area… must try and highly recommended
We have been going to this place for 10+ years. The quality of food has remained constantly great... Hands down best fish and chips place in Eastbay...
I love good fried fish and chips and Louise's definitely fills the bill. The service is great and although the shop is a little small, it has a very welcoming feel. The fish and shrimp were excellent, very fresh tasting and not greasy tasting at all, plus the coleslaw is also great. We highly recommend it.
Great food, good experience. Will definitely come back. If you have leftovers, just use the air-fryer and it's just as good as the day before. 😉
Clean and comfortable setting with the most amazing fish, shrimp, and chips!! A great variety of drinks from soda, juices, to beer. The fried zucchini was excellent as well. If your looking for a fish n chips.. this is the place!!
Best fish & chips i have had.
Want your chips to taste like fish and your fish to taste like chips with a bit of shrimp flavor from whatever was in the fryer last? You can't ask to order fish and chips this good anywhere - the restaurant just has to know what it's doing. Service is fast, and you know it's good if Cal Trans truck fleets show up for lunch.
I am not an easy customer. However, this fish and chips place makes the most superb and tender fish and prawns and fries combo I have ever eaten! I ALMOST WENT BACK FOR SECONDS! Don't miss going here if you are in town. Family operated.
Small little joint but don't let the size scare you away fish and chips are to die to die for. Was driving by on a fluke and decided to give it a try and was not disappointed. Oh yeah bathroom was also nice and clean.
This place has history for me. With the auto parts store next door, my father would pick up parts around lunchtime and it was convenient that seafood was right next door so we would stop here for a bite. I left for a decade and came back to the restaurant still standing today. Very amusing that I'm picking up automotive parts and decide to stop in. Still great food with exceptional service.
The customer service is amazing both times I've gone, the fish is perfectly tender on the inside and crispy on the outside, the fried prawns are cooked and seasoned absolutely perfectly, the fries are some of my favorite I've ever had, I would highly highly recommend going here
I love this place! I’m so glad I discovered it. Their fish and chips are delicious and plentiful.
Tiny place, and the first time I've visited. As the name suggests, the restaurant specializes in seafood and chips - French fries to some of us. Being an Englishman, I have experience of fish and chips places in England. I can attest to them being hit and miss - over there they cook chips in volume and they often keep the chips hot under a heat lamp waiting for the next customer. That often makes the chips taste limp and unappetizing. OTOH, Louise's prepares everything after your order is placed. The result? Super fresh and crispy battered fish, the fish melting in the mouth. You can tell right away the fries have just been cooked. Delicious! There's another Bay area seafood place worth visiting: Cook's in Palo Alto. They've been planning a new location in Pleasanton for ever, but the point is that I'd describe the Cook's product as closest equivalent to Louise's. On a different topic: I asked the head guy at Louise's what was the fish? He said something about something from Alaska. My request is that they say what it is on the menu - a kind of value-add piece of information. Back to the English fish and chips restaurants: it's usual over there to choose between several fish types in one's fish and chips, and so I just wondered what it was that I was getting. 5 stars!
This place has had new owners for a couple years now and they have done an excellent job with keeping the quality of food and redecorating so it is more inviting. Our go to place for fish and chips and shrimp and chips. The owners are very nice and you can tell they really care about making their customers happy.
I love fish and chips. I splurge 2 to 3 times a week. They have the best. Fries are special. Fast and polite service. Reasonable prices and portion size. Clean!!!!
What really needs to be said... very basic fish and chips (American style). Incredible. Yummy. Inexpensive. They also have prawns, scallops, oysters, clams, etc. All fresh battered in house as it's cooked to order. My new favorite. A must stop, well worth the short drive off the freeway!
Ok, so after coming back from England, I had a craving for fish and chips. This place was one of the few places that does the fish the closest you're going to get in America. The staff were very polite, as soon as I walked in, they offered me a drink while I waited, and informed me of the wait time for any order. The food was cooked to order and the place was busy. If you're looking for the closest thing to England's style of fish and chips (not beer battered) in the SF bay area, this is it.
We each had the Scott’s #7 item (one piece of fried fish and fries). Cooked to order, obviously, so it took a few mins. Delicious! The battering on the fish was light and crispy, and wasn’t greasy. The fries were the double-fried kind, so they were extra crunchy. The cole slaw we also got was very good. Cute place, but only 6 tables. Friendly service. A must-go to place!
One of our favorite local spots to have an easy relaxed dinner. We like to order fish & chips and mushrooms. The onion rings and fried zucchini are delicious as well. I guess I can say over the years I’ve tried everything on the menu and have not been disappointed. Thank you Louise’s!
It was my special luck to have stumbled upon this spot! Long story short, after years of being in the area my boyfriend and I noticed Louise's Fish and Chips when walking into O'Reilly's.. and we were feeling hungry. We decided to give them a try and after waiting for no more than 10 minutes we received 2 fish, 5 prawns and chips. DEEE-LISH and sharing it satisfied us both. Dipping sauces paired perfectly, I suppose I like my food salty because that was the only thing I think it needed but some of the best deep fried food I've ever had with the perfect crunch. We couldn't wait to get home as we devoured it immediately.
Louise's is the epitome of comfort food; they're probably the only restaurant in this area that does truly glutinous, delicious deeply fried fish and chips - and I love it! It's so heavy, but so good at the same time. And it's not just fish - they apply the same fantastic fry to shrimp, oysters, calamari, mushrooms, etc. It's very similar to what you would get at an H. Salt Fish & Chips. Their pricing is competitive - for example, I easily feed a family of four on combo pack alone ($40 for 6 fish, 16 shrimp, and fries). I typically order over the phone for in-store pickup, and the turnaround time for this is quick - most of my orders seem to be ready within 15 minutes of placing. The restaurant itself is clean - the owner and his staff remain masked at all times, and work behind plastic barriers when prepping the food. The staff is also very pleasant and inviting.
We got fish & chips, mushrooms, oysters. They’re fresh and tasty. It’s a bit warm inside since the fryers are right next to the register.
I was looking in the area for good fish and chips and I stumbled into the best by far, so far! Friendly family owned and operated. More options than just "fish n chips"... prawns, clams, calamari, beer battered rings, zucchini, 'shrooms and more! Mix and match a classic combo number and add a side to make a 3way for under 20 bucks!
This little spot would probably be considered a hole in the wall, but it is absolutely a beloved part of Livermore culture and history. Opened for decades, Louise's offers the tri-valley hard to find quality fried fish options. Traditionally fried with a side of fries, the menu boasts filet, prawn, oyster, clams and more as well as delicious sides. The restaurant itself is modest with only four tables, as it is small inside, but that doesn't put a damper on the experience. If you have a hankering for Fish n chips, Louise's is the place to be.
The food here is so fresh and tasty. The service is always great and the man remembered us when we came in.

Excellent fish and chips!!! The fish was light and flakey, with crispy crunchy batter. Surprisingly, the french fries were some of the best I've ever had.. and I've had a lot! I had the 3 piece combo and easily polished them all off myself. The interior was extremely clean and bright. I will definitionally return again.
If you just want the best Fish and Chips in the valley or for that matter, anywhere in the bay area, look no further. The ambience is humble but their frying would make any fishmonger proud. Have had Fish and Chips everywhere I go, but this place is simply the best. They do not overuse oil and the color of the Fish and Chips is yellow not brown. Tastes as great as it looks.
The fish and chips were amazing! While ordering double whatever you think you might need. The tartar sauce was perfection! Accidentally found this gem! Highly recommend.
One of the best fish and chips places I have had for sure! I love the breading and i love the prawn. Comes with all dips you could really think of. Maybe a bit on the higher price side, with a 15% tip on a no2 combo with a drink i pay $25. Over all, give it a shot, pretty good.
Grabbed two 3 pieces. We brought it back home to make fish tacos - best decision ever! They’re great on their own, but also as a compliment to an alternative protein to add variety to a homemade meal.

This location is right next to the dollar tree on railroad st in livermore, the food was great the fish and prawns were nice and crispy and NOT greasy however I do wish the fish pieces where bigger they were quite thin
Not a fancy place but love the quaint decor, the folks are friendly and get the food moving FAST. My fav local spot where I can get tender fried calamari, plump fish & chips and even shrimp egg rolls! I *will* be a regular here! P.S. This restaurant is very clean, and parking is great!
I love fish and chips and Louise’ Fish and Chips is a great source. They have many other choices besides fish, but deep fried seafood is their most popular choices. The tables inside feel like they have been in a deep fryer, but I personally usually take my order to go and rarely experience that side of the restaurant.
Food is always fresh. Small portions and kinda pricey but worth it.
Overall this place is pretty decent. The fish is pollock, and not cod, in case you are wondering. The lady is very nice and the store and more importantly the fryers are very clean. Fries were decent, fish was decent but super greasy, mozzarella sticks were delicious. Id say its more of a guilty pleasure meal. After eating all this grease we had to of course wash it down with an ice cold Coke.
Very fresh fried food

I was looking for Fish and Chips and saw that this was local. I decided to give it a try after seeing some reviews. I ordered the 3 piece fish and chips, and the food was okay. The batter was light and crispy, and also not oily. However, the batter did not have much flavor to it. The fish were nice portions, but also needed some seasoning of sorts. I definitely doused my Fish in the Malt Vinegar and added some Tartar sauce to add flavor. The fries feel like they were generic and out of a bulk pack at Costco, but they were crispy nonetheless. Anyway, overall a decent place and the gentleman working the counter seemed real nice. The place itself only has like 6 tables and is definitely a casual vibe. I like to support small businesses, so I'll be back.

I had the fish and shrimp combo with fried zucchini instead of chips meal. While the fish and shrimp were tender and flaky, they lacked any seasoning or spice. Was given tartar sauce for fish, cocktail sauce for shrimp, and ranch dressing for the zucchini sticks, but they didn't make up for the lack of seasoning. You can dine in, but the seating is very limited and cramped, it is probably better served as a grab and go facility. Overall I probably will not eat here again.
Hot fish though pieces are on the skinny side. Shrimp tastes like shrimp. Batter is on the oily side even though thin and crispy. Fries have crunchy nice texture but not much flavor. It's not a place I'd choose to go to again. Service is quick and efficient and the place is clean.
While I am a fish-n-chip fan, I wasn't too wowed by this. I guess maybe it was the batter and probably the type of fish... anyway, the owner/ manager was super friendly and fast. The food was fresh and hot, just not as tasty as I like. My husband had the combo plate and he loved it! He also ordered the fried oyster and loved that too. Oh well. To each taste his own
The fish was pretty good. Fresh, large pieces. The batter was the classic American fritter batter. Not "traditional" but well done. The chips weren't so great, an odd crackley finish and a bit salty. But the price was fair and the service fast and friendly. Not the best but better than many I've tried. I'll prolly eat there again.
I am a long time resident of Livermore and Have been enjoying Louise's for over 25 years. It has changed hand a few times since it was started and I was glad to see they didn't change the food. It has always been good. How ever I went last night and was very disappointed with the size of the fish now, they have a lot thinner pieces that are almost like eating fish sticks and don't have as much of the nice flaky fish meat that it used to have. I hope if other customers that have noticed this express their concerns.
No choice of fish such as halibut or cod. Prawns were good but I couldn't eat the fish that I ordered. Yucky . Small order at the counter place so atmosphere is just so so.
I decided to try this place based on reviews. The food was fresh and not too greasy; however, the batter could use some basic seasoning. I ordered the combo of fish, prawns, and chips. I had to add Old Bay because it was just too bland. I am from the East Coast, where I enjoyed well-seasoned seafood from Maryland, so maybe my expectations were off. The fries were nice and crispy. The calamari was delicious; the batter was excellent and well-seasoned; no complaints! The service was friendly. I'm not sure if I'll be back, but if I do go back, I will try to special request the fish and prawns to be fried with the calamari batter.

They have the greatest French fries but for some reason they were soft and almost cold. Not good. Fish good but also not hot. First time I have been disappointed there. I realize they were busy but that still shouldn’t be. They also forgot one of our meals. All the way home handing meals and one meal missing. Not a good night there for us.

The worst fish and chips I've had in a very long time. Was very excited about trying this place as I was told it is amazing and has an incredible reputation. Couldn't be more disappointed. Extremely greasy. Batter was terrible and didn't cover the fish so it was all soaked in oil. I had to throw it away after a few mouth fulls and then felt greasy for hours afterwards. Such a waste of fresh plaice. Chips were very subpar as well. Such a shame.
