Este restaurante, hemos vuelto a visitarle y cómo la primera vez todo lo que pedimos estaba espectacular, comenzando por Andrea la camarera que nos atendió un encanto y muy simpática dándonos servicio muy bueno. Pedimos una paella de marisco y una de arroz negro, acompañado de entrante unas puntillitas y unas croquetas de marisco y jamón y espectacular todo. U. Lugar recomendadisimo para comer muy bien con un muy buen servicio.

Todo súper rico, no es muy caro tampoco. Ensalada de tomate, gambas al horno y coquinas súper ricas.

Went there as they have reputation for excellent Paella and it did not disappoint! Our party of four enjoyed the seafood and a Jamon Paella. Both excellent and flavors were spot-on! We are chefs and would recommend at least these dishes. Wine is priced right and their apple tartlet is excellent as well!

Family of four for dinner. My daughter ordered spaghetti bolognese, which she really enjoyed, but as a child's portion it was very large. The entrecote was cooked perfectly and all of the dishes were excellent. Service was friendly and efficient. Would return and highly recommend.

We have been coming to las gitanillas for years. This evening we had an absolutely amazing experience. The food is always good. The service this time was also outstanding - and they have a very knowledgeable sommelier which is unusual for Estepona. Food delicious as always. The vegetables are all grown locally. Avocados, tomatoes and broccoli were in evidence. Definitely a notch above the average. 3 people in an open plan kitchen managed superbly. Reassuring to see an open plan kitchen these days. One of the few restaurants that have been consistently good over the last 10 years that we have been coming. The only downside was being bothered by 2 separate accordion plates within a few minutes of each other. Definitely recommend

My partner and I went on a recommendation, and this restaurant lived up to expectations. The service was incredible as soon as we walked in. Javier was especially great as he was so knowledgeable about all the food and wine, we even let him choose the wine to go with our food and he did not disappoint. The seafood paella was amazing and would recommend the apple tart with wine pairing for dessert. We would absolutely recommend this restaurant.

Ordered paella and sea bass. Very nice food, very fresh and well presented. Nice seating outside on the street. Very nice service, friendly, personal and attentive. Prices very good for the quality of the food. Some building work next to the restaurant (Aug 2025) and opposite, unfortunate as this did spoil the atmosphere but the food was very good.

The lobster was absolutely stunning and fresh, the selection of prawns with muscles and scallops was to die for. We also had the squid and black rice, the battered sea food selection, the steak, kids fish and chips and amazing starters like the bread with garlic dip, anchovies and ham.. worth the visit and for the quality of the food it’s very well priced. I wish I had taken more pictures but got too involved in the lobster.. sorry

Our favorite meals during our entire week in Spain! We came searching for pallela and showed up without a reservation. The host was kind enough to offer us a table and we were so enchanted with the food and the kindness and attention of the staff (and the vastness of the menu) that we asked if we could return the following night. We came back and had the seafood platter for two (shared among the 4 of us). It was spectacular. We loved the tomato salad, the seafood pallela, the giant clams, the scallops, and the wine. The staff treated us like family and we will always be grateful for our time at this lovely restaurant.

Restaurante Las Gitanillas is a hidden gem in Estepona that deserves more recognition. Despite the negative reviews, I have to say that this might be the best seafood restaurant in the area. It's hard for me to understand why this place is so underrated, and I suspect there might be a review war going on. But after visiting twice in one week, I can assure you that this is a fantastic restaurant that shouldn't be missed. The restaurant is family-run, and it's heartwarming to see the father and kids working together to provide excellent service. They even made a special kids' dish for my little one – a shrimp skewer with broccoli that he loved. They also have classic pasta options on the standard kids menu. The paella is a must-try here. It's perfectly made, with a light burn on the side of the pan that adds a smoky flavor to the dish. The seafood and fish selection is super fresh and of high quality, and you can taste the difference. The restaurant's design is beautiful, both inside and out. It's located on a picturesque pedestrian street that adds to the charm of the place. The wine selection is also impressive, with around 45 bottles available by the glass. The staff is knowledgeable and provides excellent information about each bottle. Restaurante Las Gitanillas prides itself on using locally sourced produce as much as possible, including ingredients from their own farm. The octopus with mashed potatoes was incredibly tender, and the baked avocado salad was a standout dish with its superb taste. And if you're a fan of Jamón, you won't be disappointed with their good cut and quality. The restaurant also brings you freshly baked bread, which is a nice touch. We tried only one dessert – the cheesecake, which was well balanced and not too sweet. Overall, the experience at Restaurante Las Gitanillas was incredibly good, and we can't wait to come back.

De lo poco que encontramos abierto a medio día en Estepona por la zona de restaurantes. Y la verdad es que fue un acierto, así que me alegro de haber caído en este restaurante por casualidad. Muy buena cantidad en los platos y de calidad, todo lo que pedidos estaba riquísimo. La única pega es la espera entre platos, algo lento el servicio para ser un día con pocas mesas ocupadas. No culpo al personal, ya que sólo había una persona atendiendo las mesas fuera. Y fue amable en todo momento. Disponen de tronas para niños, una ventaja para familias como la nuestra.

Pedí una almejas marinera y de cantidad bien, de precio bien pero venían con tierra algunas… un sitio que se distingue por su categoría de calidad no le puede pasar esto, fui atendido por una chica llamada Gema muy atenta y ella no tiene la culpa de que las almejas estén con tierra aunque buena cantidad y de sabor!

We ate here several times in January, the food was impeccable. What I didn't like was the entrecote and the pork. I felt it was a bit lacking. The paella was very delicious and the service was perfect. The waiters are nice, the restroom is clean, and when you go in, you have the open kitchen in front of you. If you are here, the Paella is a must and the house wine is incredibly delicious.

Las Gitanillas ofrece una propuesta basada en producto fresco y cocina tradicional bien ejecutada, con especial atención al pescado. Probamos la lubina a la sal para dos y el bacalao gratinado con pimientos del piquillo, ambos platos bien elaborados, con materia prima de calidad, sabor limpio y texturas muy logradas. El bacalao, especialmente, brilla por el equilibrio entre la intensidad del pescado y la dulzura del piquillo. Sin embargo, un punto mejorable fue la guarnición, que fue exactamente la misma para ambos platos. Este detalle, aunque menor, resta dinamismo a la experiencia, haciendo que distintos platos acaben pareciendo más similares de lo deseable. Un poco más de variedad o personalización en las guarniciones ayudaría a potenciar cada elaboración y romper con la sensación de repetición. El pan caliente merece mención aparte: sorprendentemente bueno, servido en su punto justo, con una corteza crujiente y una miga suave. Un detalle sencillo que marca la diferencia. Como punto claramente negativo, pedimos almejas a la marinera y lo que llegó a la mesa fueron chirlas. La diferencia entre ambas es considerable, tanto en calidad como en sabor, y esta sustitución sin previo aviso genera decepción y resta credibilidad. En cambio, los postres recuperan el nivel con nota: generosos en tamaño, bien presentados, equilibrados en dulzor y con fruta fresca que aporta frescura al final del menú. Un cierre más que digno. El servicio fue excelente, cercano y profesional, con tiempos bien medidos, algo que se agradece y que redondea la experiencia. Aspectos a mejorar: Las cartas físicas necesitan renovación urgente: están muy desgastadas, lo que desmerece la primera impresión. Aunque la carta de vinos está bien estructurada, sufre por una tipografía demasiado pequeña y una maquetación apretada, lo que dificulta su lectura. Un rediseño visual sería muy recomendable para mejorar la experiencia del cliente al elegir el vino. Conclusión: Las Gitanillas es una opción recomendable en Estepona para quienes buscan producto fresco, buena cocina y trato cercano. Con algunos ajustes —sobre todo en la presentación y variedad de ciertos detalles—, podría estar aún mejor posicionada dentro del competitivo panorama gastronómico local.

Las expectativas eran otras ya que nos lo habían recomendado. Bien, pero ... no lo que esperábamos, las croquetas de jamón no tenían el sabor como tal, nos supieron a macarrones a la boloñesa o pizza, los huevos rotos con jamón venían con temperatura de verdura sin patata y los espaguetis a la boloñesa muy caros para ser un plato infantil. Los calamares fueron lo que mas nos gusto, el encanto de la mesa en la callecita tan cuqui donde se encuentra este restaurante es muy bonito. El trato muy bueno pero falto la informacion de uno de los platos para poder valorar si los pedíamos o no, ya que fue una sorpresa su elaboración.

A mixed bag. We had calamares to start which were tough. Two of the main dishes were very good and a third was good. However the 4th, tuna, was poor. It had the texture of liver and tasted off. The waiter was dismissive when told it was not good. A poor response.

La comida no está mal, nos pusieron un pan que no pedimos con una cucharada de alioli ,( por que no había más en ese mini tarrito)y nos cobraron 1'95 por cada pan , lo correcto hubiera sido preguntar si queremos pan como en la mayoría de sitios, no que te lo traen como cortesía y te lo cobran a precio de oro , una estafa en toda regla. En respuesta a su contestación no m importa pagar casi 4 euros por dos tristes panes , pero dime que me lo vas a cobrar no me lo impongas . Y ya que quieres saber más, la fritura que pagué sin rechistar por que había visto el precio previamente(casi 40€ perdón 39'80€ ) no me pareció gran cosa, se de lo que hablo por qué vengo de zona costera y bueno se pagó por que se pidió y listo . No es un berrinche es mi humilde opinión, sea mucho o poco no me gusta pagar por algo que no he pedido. Un saludo

Una experiencia con mas sombras que luces. Ambiente agradable en una calle muy bonita. Carta corta y cantidades escasas para el precio. Nos pusieron una botella de agua sin el tapón lo cual lleva a sospechar. Una ración con 5 croquetas ricas pero lo dicho escasa. Luego una fritura que tenia poca variedad y un poco sosa. El pan te lo imponen sin preguntar. En definitiva una experiencia decepcionante. Lugar mas orientado hacia los extranjeros.

Calidad mediocre, servicio deficiente y precios desorbitados, como si estuviéramos en primera línea de playa en Marbella… pero sin vistas, sin encanto y sin cocina digna. Producto congelado y de baja calidad: Calamares insípidos, pechuga de pollo con textura gomosa y sabor artificial. Croquetas medio congeladas y mal elaboradas. Presentación descuidada: Platos servidos sin ningún mimo, patatas quemadas y pasadas de tiempo. El pulpo, lejos de estar tierno, parecía chicle. Servicio poco profesional: Falta de atención, sin conocimiento del producto ni cuidado por el cliente. Cobros abusivos: Se nos cobró 2,20 € por agua del grifo, sin previo aviso. Un detalle que roza el timo. Ambiente sin encanto: Lo que se presenta como restaurante tradicional parece más bien un bar improvisado, sin alma ni autenticidad. Precios fuera de lugar: Por platos mal preparados y congelados, se paga como si fuera alta cocina en la Milla de Oro. Una tomadura de pelo. No lo recomiendo en absoluto. En una zona con tantas opciones de calidad, este lugar destaca por lo contrario. Una experiencia que no merece repetirse.
