Had a long wait one time here but still love it. Try the shrimp tacos. They are fantastic!
Excellent 7 sea soup and birria. I like the nautical vibe.
I've been here about 10 times since it became La Patria and have been consistently satisfied every time. The food is absolutely delicious. Amazing seafood dishes.
The food is always fresh and amazing! I truley enjoy the staff.. They always make is feel welcomed and we look forward to wach meal
Just picked up an order that we placed online and the food is delicious, full of flavor, and you get a large amount. I will definitely be returning! :)
This place is tight. Best Mexican food in the seven oh seven guranteed. I'm from Mexico so I would know. Call me if you have any questions
Delicious tacos gobernador and carne asada bowl. Interesting old bar with ship motif. Clean and fresh.
Great!!! A real Mexican Restaurant found in Eureka... Very delightful and freshly sea food ..like from the sea to the table...and a very tasty quesadilla...IF YOU ARE VISITING THE HUMBOLDT BAY AREA stop by LA PATRIA RESTAURANT.....surely you will not regret it!!!!
Comida Jaliscense mas autentica en todo nuestra area. By far, our most favorite Mexican food place 'cause it has the most authentic Jalisco-style food around!
My boyfriend and I eat here at least once a month. Delicious food and extremely sweet staff.
This place was delicious! The service was great and hands down they had the BEST ceviche!!!
Mazatlan Burrito (shrimp) is the best, we get it every time. They have a lot of great options and it's good quality.
It's the best mexican food in Humboldt....comparing to all other restaurants.it's real home made food not out of the can...very large menu to pick from
Just ignore the weirdos outside. The food is authentic and everything but the flour tortillas are made in-house. Great little hole-in-the-wall.
The Mazatlan Shrimp burrito is the best shrimp burrito in Humboldt County.
Stopped on my way to Crescent City. The food was very good, and I had great service as well.
excellent salsa, really good food and price is within medium range. some cheaper items but on average around 7-14$
Good food. Solid portions. The salsa is insanely tastee. Repeat offender for sure.
Great choice of delicious dishes (not just seafood), friendly service, tambora music from Sinaloa. A little slice of Mexico.
Carnitas Huaraches: 10/10 Octopus & shrimp ceviche: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Beer Pitchers for only $20! What’s not to like?!
We stopped in here on a whim...omg so glad that we did. This little hole in the wall has the absolute best food I've had in years. The service is fast and friendly and they are very welcoming. If you're in the neighborhood I highly suggest you drop in... It'll knock your socks off!!!!
Rough part of town but great food. We both got chimichangas with shredded chicken great flavor served nice and hot. Clean restaurant friendly wait staff also the pico was killer I’d defiantly go back.
Excellent authentic Mexican food, great selection of menu items, they also have an a la carte menu. I can't believe it took me so long to try this place. It is easily my new favorite place to get Mexican food in Eureka. My former favorite got too big when they started delivering and got rid of their a la carte menu. This place is definitely the best value for your money when it comes to authentic Mexican food. I had tacos al pastor, tacos de asada, and a chile relleno. Everything was delicious. All the meats were tender and juicy. The house salsa had a perfect balance of heat and flavor and they have a green cilantro/lime/avocado sauce that was really good as well. I can't wait to go back and try some of their other items.
An excellent dining experience, all superlative. Enjoyed a platter of fresh, zesty, beautifully cooked and presented Mexican seafood. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere pleasant. Five stars, absolutely!
I went with a large group of women and the owner didn't mind separate checks. The food was fantastic all around the table, service was Excellent. 6 Stars!
Always dank. A little on the expensive side but they have a ton of items on their menu of real authentic Mexican food, including some delicious seafood dishes you won't find anywhere else in town. My only gripe with them is that ordering online, or through the Yelp app, which they offer as an option, you will NEVER get the correct order or it simply won't be ready. Either call in your order to go, or simply dine in. An added benefit of dining in (besides the chips, salsa and bean dip) is the people watching entertainment provided free of charge by the tweakers, junkies and scumbags that congregate outside. So grab yourself a window seat and enjoy some delicious Mexican food while you watch the reality TV theater show thats like Maury/Jerry Springer/intervention but with great actors and no reruns.
Five stars. The food, atmosphere and staff were perfectly synchronized for my enjoyment. The fish platter was large enough for 4 adults and exquisite. Thanks Sammy.
My favorite place for Mexican food in the area. The carnitas is crispy and the shredded beef are perfectly cooked morsels of tenderness. The chile relanos are also amazing. Only downside is no hard liquor license but that doesn't stop me from going often.
My favorite Mexican restaurant in Eureka! Amazing home made salsas and tortillas. Large menu of seafood and family style meals. The seafood cocktails are very delicious, and the molcajetes are top notch. Very friendly staff and huge selection of beer on tap (including negra Modelo!) and in bottles.
We ordered one of the Gobernator Molcajete, and it was some of the best cooked seafood we've had. Well seasoned and super tender and plenty for two to share! Overall, the best seafood in Fields Landing!
The menu is authentic. Not the typical beans and rice Mexican food found in Eureka. The lamb barbacoa was awesome. We'll be back again soon.
Holy cow the green sauce is so delicious! I drowned everything with it! I got a lengua taco that was super tender. Chicken burrito was loaded with cilantro and tasted amazing even as leftovers.
We were visiting the area and drove by the restaurant. So glad we decided to try it! Authentic food including the homemade tortillas. We all had something different and it was all good.
Outstanding fajita wet burrito!! By far the best I have had in a long time. Eureka CA has so much good food, lucky are those who live here.
We were passing through Eureka and found La Patria on Yelp, and decided to give it a go based a the reviews. Excellent choice. Large portions, and very flavorable food.
I like their new location in fields landing 95537 I love their crispy chicken tacos and the ladies are always awesome and I haven't tried their seafood yet but I'm going to try cuz yeah I love their new location at The wailers it is very awesome and convenient for people to live in town that have Munchies or something have a nice thank you
Good food ,great prices, quick and friendly service. The best Mexican food l've had in a while. I'll definitely be going back.
Easily the best Mexican food I’ve had in Humboldt. Such wonderful staff as well. Huge portions and incredibly fresh. Really unique and delicious seafood options as well! We can’t wait to return :)
Great food selection. I usually have the shrimp burrito with black beans good size shrimp and one is basically na meal for the day. Also have had their shrimp tacos also excellent.. great place. Very friendly owners. Worth leaving eureka only 3 miles out of town and next exit pass pg&e power station
I finally had a truly fantastic Mexican meal in Humboldt County!!! I ordered the shrimp fajitas and it was love at first bite. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The shrimp was grilled to perfection with a wonderful hint of lime. The tortillas, beans, rice, salsa, guacamole were all delicious. The service was warm and friendly. Even the iced tea tasted fresh. I rarely go north of Fortuna, but this wonderful restaurant is sure to take me north more frequently in the future.
I took my wife there last night for Valentines. We both decided to have the chimichanga, and they were great and stuffed with meat, cheese, and rice covered with sour cream and pico da gallioThe service was great, along with the price. We went there again three months later, the food was still good but the service was poor, we waited over thirty minutes for our food. We'll give it another try, maybe just an off night
We visited for the first time for my birthday and I was delighted with my experience. The atmosphere was comfortable and interesting in a very pleasent way. The service was attentive and friendly. The food was amazing. It was authentic and very well prepared. The portions were generous to say the least. The menus selction is very large and features a wide variety of seafoods offered in many styles. The terrestial offerings are just as numerous and vaired. The aqua fresca was fresh made and delicious. The enitre meal was excellent! We will be returning often with friends and family.
We have excellent choices in all of humboldt county, and this is the place we keep returning to - twice monthly typically! Food is always fresh and outstanding, the service is friendly and great and there’s never a crowd. Highest recommendation. If you like Mexican-style seafood, this is your new home.
Great food and service. We have gone multiple times and have not been disappointed. The different ceviches they offer taste amazing and super fresh. The only Mexican restaurant in Eureka that has great michelada’s and HOT hot sauce (the sauce in most of Humboldt is watered down). Great place to stop and enjoy a meal that’s delicious and reasonably priced.
Fantastic food and great service! Best Mexican food around. We've been in the area a year or so and come from Mckinleyville because its better than anything in our town. Highly recommend the shredded beef or the shrimp enchiladas :)
Lived here for about 8 months now, found my favorite authentic Mexican restaurant. The service is always very quick, prices are acceptable, portions are huge and they are never too busy. Will always recommend this place to anyone.
A solid choice for a Mexican restaurant. The food was tasty and the service was okay. We showed up on a Sunday when not many things in town were open. There was a wait for a table, but once we were sat we got our food pretty quickly.
Went tonight for National Margarita Day and the food and drinks were awesome! We got a pitcher of the lime margarita that had a great taste and you got alot for the price! We got the fajita burritos and they were delicious and humongous! The jalapeno poppers were a great appetizer as well. Highly recommend. And will definelty be returning. Didnt get any pictures we dug right in. 😂
Generous portions of authentic, flavorful foods delivered right to my front door. Hands down one of the best places to get real Mexican food. Real deal. I like the carnitas plate. (And they deliver margaritas too)
Delicious. We have been planning a Crescent City to Trinidad trip for awhile and couldn’t find any authentic Mexican Mariscos but this one, turns out that’s ok because this place hit the spot. Absolutely succulent shrimp and lobster in my molcajete governator, I asked for no pulpo because I am allergic and they were able to do it. Husband got the 7 mares, it was wonderful and rich. Cant wait to come back
Somewhat of a hole in the wall vibe, but by far the best mariscos/ceviche in Humboldt. The rest of their food is good too, I think they might have one of the longest menus in the county.
Just visited The Rewoods and was looking for great Food. Found this Gem!! This did not disappoint!
Every dish is made to order. This Mexican seafood restaurant is amazing. The seafood is always fresh. I highly recommend the shrimp tacos and the crab enchiladas but honestly anything you get you can’t go wrong. The staff is very friendly. Eat in or take out and enjoy!!!
Great food, portion sizes were more than satisfying. Went here for our wedding anniversary, loved the atmosphere and ambiance. Tucked away from the city but worth the drive!
Delicious food, kind service, a cool historic building, what a great lunch experience! I had grilled tilapia and my boyfriend had crab enchiladas. Very happy new customers!! We first heard about La Patria on the shopping show and we had to check it out. The photo attached here is from part way through the meal. So yummy!
Nice, chill restaurant with great service and friendly staff. The food was great both times I ate there this week
Place is delicious!!! Excited I found menudo! Not the best but it will do! And homemade tortillas!!! Come on!!! Drinks are amazing!!
I wanted Mexican seafood for breakfast and this place really delivered. The crab enchiladas had so much crabmeat, with a nice sauce that managed to balance creaminess and a little bit of citrus kick. The shrimp cocktail such generous seafood portions too. I wish I had time to come back and try more things on their menu but my visit to Eureka was so short. Service was quick and polite and they serve you a basket of tortilla chips, beans, and salsas while you wait for your meal.
Delicious food, excellent service, reasonable prices, and one meal is enough for two.
It's a nice place that we accidentally discovered. It was a bit late, but the service was very nice. The food was delicious. Food: great Ambience: most pleasing Music: not sure Service: very friendly
Very delicious great food awesome service. Building has a very cool vibe to it.

This place is without a doubt the BEST Mexican food in Humboldt county!! My husband and I moved here a year ago and have been disappointed everytime we go out to eat. Every time it’s expensive and lacks flavor!! This place has AMAZING flavor and the prices are great! Seriously, do not judge the outside of the building. This is a hidden gem!!
Really enjoyed the Asada Verde Chimmy Changa💯 Freindly attentive staff, sharp presentation. Delicious fresh authentic chip and in house signature Salsa!
A perfect dinner for seafood lovers. Can't wait to come back and try everything on the menu! After a long day of driving, we were treated with one of the best Mexican meals ever. Delicious, flavorful, authentic, with friendly service!
I ordered take out on an app. My daughter for the steak tacos and I got the Baja bowl with their habanero salsa. It was so good. Can’t wait to eat at the restaurant
Great little spot. My wife and I had dinner there tonight for the first time. Great authentic flavors, friendly staff, reasonable and generous portions. We will go back!!

Ordered a Carne Asada burrito. Delicious. Small restaurant atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Very good food, sweet server, and very very clean. I'm pretty picky when it comes to Mexican food. Now there are two places I will eat at in Humboldt county.
The food is great. The service is good a little slow because there is only one waitress. She did a great job though.
A favorite. Share a dessert. Azteca Burrito is my go-to
Yum, comfort Mexican food and reasonable prices. Enjoyed their chile rellano plate and seafood cocktail. Very casual. Beer served. The burrito I saw was huge. Can't wait to try one next time.
Very nice service and great food. Just starting to get busy when I arrived and staff was very pleasant. I will go back as often as possible. Can't say enough about the place.
I had a very well made tasty chimichanga. Too many places these days don't deep fry them. Service was excellent, price good. The only thing that kept this restaurant from 5 stars was the salsa. They lacked flavor. Mild was mild, spicy was spicy, but very little flavor to them.
This place can be very hit-or-miss. I've gotten Carne Asada tacos and they've been a "Definitely coming back" as well as a "What happened from last time?". I recommend them, especially if you're in the area. Customer service is nice and they serve food very quickly. Will probably return to explore more of the menu.
This place is great! The staff was attentive and the food was good. They have two salsa's on the table, the red one is pretty hot and the green one is mild but also good. I'd return here again when I'm in the area for sure.
Pretty standard family Mexican restaurant. Food was decent-- the flautas and quesadilla were good, the Baja Bowl was just okay. We ordered takeout. Outside of the restaurant is pretty run down (and has a lot of homeless people nearby), but inside is fine.
Awesome Mexican food, most authentic for our area of the world. Especially if you love seafood. Good service. Location and ambiance aren’t amazing, but so worth a try regardless.
Great little place in a cool historic building. The molcahete mixto was delicious and enough for two with leftovers to take home. Fantastic refried beans and perfect homemade flour tortillas. Can't wait to try more!
Food was soooo good! Had shrimp fajitas - tasted fresh. Also had the 5 mini tacos al pastor - best tasty and filling $10 deal. They have a small parking lot so it was convenient. Will definitely visit again when we come back to Eureka.

If you see that this place is busy, just walk away and wait for them to become slow again unless you like your food cold and enjoy receiving poor service then be my guest. But dont get me wrong because I really enjoy eating here especially their burritos and tacos.
Great service, good friendly staff, place looks welcoming but in all the food has little flavor in the food but one item is delicious to eat, a gordito
This place had a pleasant casual atmosphere and good service, but I'd rate the food average at best. We had the fish tacos plate and the carne asada diablo shrimp plate. Neither of us chose to get a take home box for he leftovers from the large portion plates.
it was ok. salsa is good. menu is to big with to many unknown items. it was ok, I'll give it another chance with less people, we went with large party and it's a small place
One of the best bars I've ever drank at. But they aren't using the bar anymore. It just sits there with stuff on it. Disappointed with the new ownership not taking advantage of the best attributes of this place. The booth was uncomfortable and hard to get in and out of. I'm 5'9" and 185 pounds. We had appetizer plate and it was average. The beer wasn't that cold. It wasn't crowded but the service was slow. Overall, I will give it another try in the future. I was disappointed mainly because I enjoyed it so much more when it was the Whaler's Inn. Better food, great service and atmosphere, and a wonderful bar!
The selection is great off of the menu. I had the bacon wrapped shrimp, others in the party had carne asada and a flat taco dish I can't recall at the moment. The food was decent. Not knock your socks of good, but not bad. A solid 3 star place to grab a decent meal at without breaking the bank.

Crab in the enchiladas is super fishy. Shrimp in the appetizer were overcooked. Too expensive for what it is. Not impressed, which is a bummer, we were looking forward to the meal.
Overpriced and just about average Mexican food. Much better choices in the area.
The waitress was nice, but the food was not good. The agua frescas arent good either. Maybe my standards are too high because i live in laredo tx. As a tourist these sympathetic high reviews anger me.
This is very overpriced and the food wasn’t as good as I can make at home. The shakes and ice cream bar has boba that was tasty but sad to say the best thing I ate was a mango shake instead of the food!! Looks like a nice place to have a drink but the seafood isn’t fresh and way overpriced.
Ordered chicken and got beef. Was so hungry I didn’t ask for clarification but wished I would have. My gastrointestinal track cannot process beef and the pain is intense.
I ordered through DoorDash, which I use at least 3-4 times a week. DoorDash is always great. This place though, they made the driver order me food for me, and sit for 45 minutes while they cooked the food. Normal DoorDash orders everywhere else go straight to the restaurant, the delivery driver goes there and it’s ready for them and it’s delivered to me super fast... the driver waited 45 minutes for them to cook basic Mexican food, I ordered 1 burrito and some tacos - I had to tip the driver $20 because I felt bad for wasting his time. This place needs to shape up and get with the other 50 or so restaurants in Eureka alone that are on DoorDash or get off the service.
Order via eat24 through PayPal. Drove 15 minutes to pick up. Order wasn’t ready. There were two people in the joint and had already eaten. Mind you it’s only 3:30 in the afternoon. How busy could you be. All the other local eat24 restaurants were on top of it. These guys dropped the ball. Not even going to bother to review the food. Never coming back to this place again. Also, there are dirty ,drug addicted bums all around this area of town. Gross.
Was pretty bummed- our food was so dry we nearly choked on it. Wrong orders were provided & the appetizer came out AFTER our meal. There was hardly any flavor in anything we tried and we both felt really sick afterwards.
Worst food I have EVER had. No flavor, completely dipped in grease! Food instantly hurt my stomach couldn’t even eat it had to leave it there. That was $150 spent on the worst meal of my life for me and my family!
My family comes here a lot so we tried to bring my grandmother in who is visiting. I was disappointed when we tried to go about 30 minutes after they had opened today. It looked totally closed so we left but online they said they were open so I called initially just curious. A woman answered and said they had just got there so the light wasn’t on yet but we were just so happy they were open and turned around asap. The door was locked so I called again to clarify and she stated they were “running behind today and would open in 10 minutes”. We left and I do still love this restaurant but I just suggest that if you want to go in anytime in the first hour they are “open” I would call first and make sure they really are.
Food was just mediocre, wait was definitely long like others stated. Came in at 2:00pm on a Sunday. Seated for 30 mins before taking our order and another 30 minutes before the food came out. Most of the other patrons had cleared out by the time our food had arrived. The food was quite plain and and nothing worth mentioning. Maybe it’s because we’re from Southern California where they have good Mexican food. Not really a good stop on our Oregon/California coast road trip. Maybe that’s what we get for craving Mexican food this far north of the border.
