Great pizza. Took a little longer than quoted for the pie but they were swamped from the blizzard. I wouldn't order the extra cheese again, it's too much.
You want ol school NYC nostalgia pizza 🍕 you come here !! I hadn’t gone here in almost 30 years use to get slices here with my mom when caldor was across the street ! So I decided other day to get a pie to get that feeling and Woww perfect exactly how I remembered it ! Plus they still got that fruit punch machine 🥳which people forget about not me I got 2 large of them they couldn’t believe it I wanted it but I’m a real New Yorker from day 1 I was born . Thank GOD this family business still here ! Get yourself a real NYC slice here or pie whatever and fruit punch from the machine and your day will go great 😌 your welcome !
One of my many friends called Richard has been to this place and ordered two slices of cheese pizza. The food was wonderful, and the service was good. This place is always busy with people ordering other foods, eating, talking, and others. The pizza was wonderful that he enjoyed it.
I've had Lucia pizza twice while visiting Flushing, once through delivery and the other time in person; delivery is definitely not the ideal way to have the pizza from here due to the very long wait time, so I'm choosing to review my in person visit, on my last night in NY no less. Much of what's been said about this place is true, great and generally affordable pizza being sold in tiny store. The service is efficient, you can tell the staff there has been with the place for a long time. I ordered 1 regular slice and 2 pepperoni slices which took ~5 minutes to receive. Of the 3 slices I ordered, I'd say the regular cheese slice is the way to go if you're new to NY style pizza. The cheese is hot and nicely melted, the sauce isn't overpowering, and the bread/crust has a nice crisp to it. Expect a fair amount of grease and to fold your slice because how big they are. While I haven't tried NY's other famous pizza spots, I'm very happy with Lucia being my main impression of this dish here
Lucia is a tiny place with just a half dozen stools to sit, but the pizza here is delicious. The cheese is extremely hot, gooey, and floating on the sauce, but the taste makes it one of my favorite Queens Pizzerias. Just let it cool for a minute. The service is good, and Mike, the main server is always telling great stories. It's my go-to for a quick slice and coke in the downtown Flushing area.
Lucia Pizza in Flushing is absolutely amazing! The whole experience was fantastic from start to finish. The pizza was fresh, perfectly baked, and full of flavor — truly some of the best I’ve had. The crust was crisp yet chewy, the sauce was rich and balanced, and the cheese melted beautifully. On top of that, the atmosphere was welcoming and the service was great, making the visit even more enjoyable. If you’re in Flushing, this is a must-visit spot for delicious pizza. 🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕
Tiny little intimate pizza spot near Main St in Flushing. First time my sons had been to NY and of course they wanted to try a slice of the famous NY pizza. This place didm't disappoint at all. The cheese, the sauce, the crispy crust, the pepperoni were all on point. Service was fast and mad affordable. Pizza was a hit with my boys and I already knew it was going to be great. Hit them up if in the neighborhood, well worth it.
Update: Price increase. They’ve added tax in the last week instead of having it baked into the price. Two slices are now $7.08, instead of $6.50. So, I guess with tax a single regular slice would be $3.54. I wish they’d just include the tax as before and round up or down to some even amount. Still love their pizza though. Original review: Not sure how I never reviewed Lucia before. As a kid, I’d have a slice every Saturday. My parents would also often get me a slice on their way home from work during my picky eating stage. It tied with Barone for my favorite pizza place growing up. I really love their pizza and could easily have it everyday. Lucia serves the perfect NY-style thin crust pizza. It’s greasy and cheesy, with just the right amount of sauce. My mom absolutely loves their regular slice and their sicilians. Whenever she visits, she wants to order a pie. The house pie is huge and worth it. It takes about 25 minutes to make so order ahead for pickup, or do what I do—place your order in person, then go do your Main Street/Roosevelt shopping until it’s ready. There is no one in my family who doesn’t love them. They’re almost always busy, especially during meal times, when school lets out, etc, but if you’re getting only one or two slices, the wait is usually not long. It’s a real neighborhood joint even with the limited seating. (I’m old enough to remember when it was bigger and they had tables!) The service is friendly. There has only ever been one person working there who (whom?) I didn’t like and would actively avoid if he was taking orders, but thankfully I haven’t seen him in a long while. Everyone else is great, including the guys in the back making the pizzas. Tip: If you like your pizza crispy, like my mom does, just ask. But, you need to eat it immediately. If you get it to-go, it will lose that crispness. Better to crisp it yourself when you get home on a flat pan. It’s really actually better when you do it yourself at home. Sadly, they don’t offer individual white slices, but you can buy a white pie and it’ll be delicious. You can get it with toppings like jalapeños, onions, mushrooms, and peppers. Yum!
The best pizza! This is a true neighborhood gem! It has been here many years, it’s great to see some original businesses still around. Fresh, delicious and hot out the oven. Highly recommend for slice or a pie. Great, amazing flavor and all toppings available. Staff is also friendly and professional. 10/10 stars!
Don't look down on something just because it's cheap. Every time I used the subway, the store was always crowded with people. I heard from someone I already knew that this place was delicious, but there was always a long waiting line to get into the store, so I gave up. It was a rainy day. Maybe it was because of the weather, but there were few people. I was finally able to get my hands on this pizza. Many people ordered slice pizza, but I ordered a large whole pizza and brought it home. They bake it and serve it right in the open kitchen where you can watch it being made. I ordered a large pizza and waited about 20 minutes. Plain pizza is the standard here, and there is an additional charge for each topping added. I think it was about $24 with the pepperoni added. Red pepper powder, cheese, special sauce, and even disposable plates are provided. Even though it was busy, the friendly staff responded and my mood improved. The pizza was savory and delicious. It felt a little salty for my taste, but my son said it was delicious. All American food is too salty for my taste. Haha
One of the best local pizza joints in the area. The slices are classic NYC thin crust style with just the right amount of sauce and cheese. The key may be that it's super busy so fresh pies are coming out of the oven all the time ! A hidden gem that I always get are the garlic knots. Even though it's usually standing room only the service is friendly.
Small pizza shop well located and it can get pretty busy/crowded. Not a big fan of NY-style pizza, but it was good. Possibly one of the best option in the area.
Just started working in the area decided to get a slice at lunch. Tasted good but the sauce was a bit too saucy I lifted the slice up and instantly cheese and sauce started sliding off. Not sure if it needed more cooking time but was a bit disappointed in the structural integrity of the slice. Don’t get me wrong it tasted good but I had to use both my hands and may even recommend a fork when eating this pizza. Again not sure if it needed more cooking time because I see the other slices on these reviews and they look like they have better structural integrity. Just wasn’t prepared for a sloppy yet tasty slice of pizza for lunch.
My favorite no thrills pizza spot in Flushing. Sometimes you just want a slice , nothing more. This place doesn't disappoint. Can get a quick slice in a few minutes. Not the best pizza in NYC but a decent slice considering you are in Chinese heavy Flushing. Slices run about $3 each. Pretty good pizza slice.
