Everything about this place was great! It was a quick 15 min wait for a walk-in table mid lunch. The staff were super friendly and the food was amazing. The pretzel sticks are a must have! Our salads were really good; everything was super fresh. Everything we tasted was delicious! Definitely going back to try some different dishes soon.
Great staff and service all around. The burger is called white truffle burger. That truffle alone is worth it. Great balance taste and the crispy fried onion bed compliments its texture. Patty was cooked just right. So shout out to Josh and David. Staff Zia, Jordan and Grace. Great experience.
We just had our group Xmas party here and it was amazing shout out to Bailey and her partner serving( so sorry I forgot your name lol) they were great! The place was cozy and 10/10! I’m glad Madelyn was able to accommodate what we needed we appreciate her. Thank you!
Absolutely amazing food! Our server recommended the best selections. We visited on their second day of opening, and they didn't disappoint! We ordered mimosa service for 3 with the upgraded berry blend, lobster benedict, lobster scramble, and marionberry french toast (with berries blended into the syrup, as well!) I'm so glad we found this place. The prices are very reasonable. Also, the porch is quite comfortable. We will definitely be back!
Honestly I would have given this location all five's on service and atmosphere but to me the 1st point of contact the host or hostess is the one that sets the mood. The gentleman that was working as host this day did not even speak to me just basically looked at me and had me follow him to my seat and said nothing whatsoever . If it wasn't for Erin, my server, who was on her 1st day there, I probably would have marked it down to a 3, but she was absolutely wonderful. The food was delicious, and I wish the servings would have been a little smaller, so I didn't have to bring anything home, but the flavors were amazing, and I can't wait to come back! I look forward to coming here for happy hour!
Food was very good, I had the Mahi Mahi and my wife had the chicken Marsala. We both enjoyed them very much. We had great service. We sat outside in mid October and the ambience was great. The Mahi Mahi was in a red curry sauce which was flavorful with a little heat to it. It was plated on a bed of Jasmine rice and a side of green beans. Everything was cooked nicely. The fish might have been just a hint on the done side but still very good. The beans had great flavor, were big, and still had a bite to them. I would order it again. I did pick this dish because it was gluten free and they were great communicating this.
We had a wonderful time at Plank! The food was great as were the beers! Gabe was attentive, spoke LOUD enough; we don’t care for “low talkers”. The owner brought our beers and commented they were safe to drink. The foam-stache she sported was a dead giveaway!!
Came out on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, sat on the patio to enjoy a beer, Gold Rush cocktail, smoked in-house wings and Rueben sandwich with my husband. Food & drinks were great, highly recommend! Shout out to our server, Maria 🙌
Hot day but seating on the patio was pleasant. Service was excellent and there were several items I could select. I chose the Reuben sandwich which many people would love, but I didn't. I prefer very thinly sliced pastrami and this was thicker and had a strong smokey flavor which i don't care for. I will return because this is a place for a very nice meal served by very pleasant people.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our food was delicious, Turkey BLT and Farmers salad. It was busy during lunchtime but the wait list worked well and we were seated within 10 mins.
Wow! What is cool place. My wife and I (oh and our 2 dogs) potted in to Plank on Saturday for brunch. As it was a beautiful late summer morning we sat on the misted patio and enjoyed the laid back atmosphere. The food was amazing and they even had a sub menu for the dogs! Staff were friendly and attentive. I think we found our new ‘go to’. See you again soon!
We came for lunch the weekend before Halloween with about half of our son's soccer team, the entire staff was absolutely amazing! We sat on the roof, loved the view and the food! The downtown area does a really cute trick or treating event, which we headed to after lunch. Next time we are in the area, we look forward to going back again!
We came here from out of town with a large party to celebrate my sister's birthday. The service was fantastic. The food and drinks were delicious and the atmosphere was very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family, and I look forward to coming here again next time I'm in the area. I think our server's name was Marylou or Marilou. If you're reading this, thank you so much for such a great experience and the perfect birthday!
Plank in Historic Folsom has truly become one of my favorite spots on Sutter Street! Mary Lou, the bartender, is hands-down the friendliest and most professional I’ve ever met. She’s so patient, attentive, and welcoming—you’d never know how busy she is because she never shows it. The food here is outstanding, and you can tell they’ve really leveled up over the past few years. The grilled artichoke is absolutely the best in Folsom (maybe anywhere!), and everything else on the menu hits the mark. What really sets Plank apart is the team. Every staff member I’ve encountered is warm, professional, and clearly passionate about great service. They must be hiring the right people because the positive energy is contagious. Whether you’re grabbing a casual bite, having drinks at the bar, or enjoying a night out with friends, Plank delivers every time. Highly recommend!
This is our second time visiting Plank Craft Kitchen and they treat us right every time! The first time we stumbled upon them because they had a diverse menu for both food and drinks. Some of our friends are vegetarian so it is important to us that they can also enjoy their meal when we go out. Let me tell you- the portobello mushroom burgers here are the best and so are those sweet potato fries! Several of my friends raved about the beer menu. Last time we were a party of 8 with no reservation and this time we had a party of 12 with a reservation. When I explained that we would love it if we could have the portobello burgers from their lunch menu but for dinner they were happy to accommodate us. Grace kept the drinks flowing throughout the meal and made sure we were comfortable. She was even kind enough to give me a small discount because I asked for my drink to be poured weak (because my tolerance for alcohol is low). They also did not automatically charge us a group fee, but of course we tipped well because of the excellent service. 10/10 would take my friends here again.
The food here is absolutely amazing!!! Even though it was crazy busy we were immediately greeted and given a wait time, seated and orders taken quickly and food arrived promptly. Definitely recommend their loaded tator tota and the pork belly tacos. Everyone who served us was delightful and I will definitely be coming back again soon to try out some other menu items. Thank you for a wonderful evening out!
Nice place and perfect for old Folsom! Huge front outside sitting area with shade trees and even a misting machine for hot days. Inside has nice smaller eating area with a bigger upstairs area which also has balcony seating. Place is clean and very nice looking all around. On my visit I sat at the bar area and had the slider burgers and a Stella. Burgers were awsome and a perfect fit as I was hungry but didn't need a full meal. Also took home chicken Ceasars salad and it was also great. One knock was the Split Pea Soup, needed a lot of work but place is new and I'm sure it will get ironed out. Bartender Bailey was very nice and seemed genuinely interested if making conversation without losing track of her bar duties. Saw an earlier review that badmouthed owner and employees and I'm telling you, in NO way did I see any unpleasantness from any of the staff or the owner who was on site. He actually walked about and checked on tables and seemed happy..This was my experience and ill be back for sure..breakfast maybe??
Wow! What a great surprise this place was. We had gone to historic downtown Folsom with no set plan, but looking to get lunch. We passed a lot of great looking restaurants and ended up here. What made it the place we wanted to eat was the friendly way we were greeted. Then, we found out that we were greeted by the owner herself. Turns out it’s a family affair. And the food was fantastic, (Served to us by her son). We did the turkey sandwich and the BLT, because they were house specialties for lunch. But based on these two sandwiches, I think you could get anything here and it would be fantastic. And don’t forget to try the cheesecake. Even if you’re not eating desserts, this is one not to miss.
The food was absolutely amazing. Service was fast and pleasant. This was our first time there and we asked what our server recommended for appetizers. We got the one she recommended and we were not disappointed! The only flaw I found with it was that the appetizer needed 2 more pieces of bread to be able finish up all the cheese and sauce. Other than that, the food was fantastic.
The food was amazing but the service was even better! Anna was the sweetest server and honestly the best I’ve ever had! I was celebrating my graduation and she made me feel super loved and appreciated. She was also very on top of everything she did. Plank, you have some great workers! I’ll be back very soon!
American restaurant with a twist! Try their pulled pork Mac-n-cheese loaded tots! Also, their burgers are tasty. They also have a great list of appetizers. You can’t go wrong with any of their food choices. All good portion sizes. Our server was Krista, she was very kind and made our visit inviting. Shoutout to Kinsley too, we had to adjust our reservation time a few times and she was very understanding and accommodating. All in all, for my first visit to Plank, it was a great experience. Will recommend and return!
Sometimes the best memories are the unplanned ones. What started as a spontaneous date day adventure led us to the charming streets of Historic Folsom, where we stumbled upon Plank’s Craft Kitchen & Bar — a rustic gem with just the right mix of cozy and cool. From the moment we walked in, the hospitality was impeccable. The service? Flawless. Our server was on point from start to finish — warm welcome, perfectly timed courses, and not once did our glasses go dry. Everything flowed with such ease, it felt like we were regulars. Drinks first, because priorities: • The Lake Lennon was a total hit — crisp, refreshing, and that subtle hint of cucumber was chef’s kiss. • The Strawberry Gimlet was almost too easy to drink. Sweet, smooth, and gone in the blink of an eye. • The Bees Knees packed the strongest punch of the three, but when I asked for a splash of lemonade to mellow it out, they happily brought it over — instantly elevated the whole experience. Appetizer: We went with the cheese curds, and let me tell you, these weren’t your average bar snack. Lightly crisped on the outside, gooey on the inside, and paired with a homemade marinara that deserves its own spotlight. I genuinely contemplated licking the bowl. No shame. Main Course: We split the Cali Club — and it was everything. Super fresh, balanced flavors, and not a trace of that questionable chicken you sometimes get in sandwiches (IYKYK). The tater tots were golden and perfectly crunchy, and the trio of dipping sauces (chipotle, ranch, and ketchup) were clearly house-made and next-level tasty. In short, Plank’s delivered big time. Whether you’re planning a night out or just happen to wander in like we did, this place hits all the right notes — delicious food, creative drinks, and stellar service. We left full, happy, and already plotting our return.
Great food with a casual atmosphere and large outdoor space. Turkey blt and steak salad were both exceptional and had very fresh ingredients.
Always great food and service. The Peach Burrata was delicious. The fish and chips were some of the best we’ve had.
Sat on the rooftop patio, with plenty of shade and misters to keep me cool. Enjoyed a mocktail while waiting on my small salad and sliders. The chicken on my salad was excellent Great price.
Great food, service and atmosphere! The chicken sandwich had amazing flavor, buffalo chicken wings & tater tots appetizers made the perfect meal. The staff were also very friendly. We will definitely be coming back soon!
1000/10 first let me say the owner is the most sweetest thoughtful person I’ve ever met! She went above and beyond to make sure we were welcomed and comfortable. The food was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere absolutely amazing and I definitely recommend trying the chimichurri steak sandwich and the espresso martini. My husband is a picky person and even he was an awe with how amazing the food and the ambience was we will definitely be going back. Thank you so much for the amazing service. I also would like to add that the owner personally moved a heater closer to us outside so we were nice and cozy the whole time.
Mama was hungry and need food quick. We were walking by and I just had to try. To the plank we go! Drinks, apps, and dinner. Say less. Never in my life did I think I was getting so much Mac n cheese. Let me tell you it is delicious and good the next day. Salad was fresh, crisp, and flavorful. Onions rings is a yes with plank sauce! Drinks were yummy. Disliked large ice cube. Hard to drink. Server was being trained but she was nice! Would go back.
I couldn’t have asked for more! We were greeted warmly by staff at the door, seated on the outdoor patio (surrounded by heaters and blinds that kept it so toasty and comfy!), and had such wonderful prompt and attentive service! Shout out to Adam, Frankie and John who gave great suggestions on what we should try and always made sure our drinks were full and that we loved everything that came to our table. P.S. don’t miss the Rockin’ Tots! So good!!

We tried their grilled shrimp tacos, wings, salad and everything was delicious. Their spicy margarita was pretty good too. We were here with a toddler and they were very accommodating and friendly towards them as well, so if definitely recommend them as kid and family friendly for sure. Indoor and outdoor dining available. Fast service despite their busyness.

Beautiful restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating - including fire place tables. Excellent food - so good! The chicken Marsala, sea scallops and wings were amazing. Service was fantastic- friendly and fun. The cocktails were yummy too. Will be back for sure! Great find!

I came to Plank Craft Kitchen + Bar with modest expectations and a healthy appreciation for cold beer. Luckily, they delivered on both and then some. The beer was consistently ice cold, the kind that makes you pause after the first sip and think, “Ah… they know what they’re doing here.” Then the food showed up and completely overachieved. What I expected to be simple bar fare turned out to be legitimately impressive flavorful, well put together, and clearly made by someone who cares about more than just keeping people occupied between drinks. The combination of cold beer and food that actually surprises you is dangerous… because suddenly “just one drink” turns into staying for another round and debating dessert. Highly recommend if you enjoy two very important things in life: beer that’s cold and food that refuses to be average. 🍻
Husband and I shared a farmers market salad and a turkey blt sandwich. Food was nicely done, salad ingredients were very fresh. Service was efficient and very pleasant. We were seated indoors, on the 2nd floor of the cozy restaurant. There are also tables outside with outdoor heaters for chilly weather.
Absolutely amazing!! Wednesday night was some of the best service we have ever received in a restaurant. From the moment we walked in, host was very friendly, the expos (I assume) were going above and beyond for us, busser was voluntarily taking plates out of our way the moment we were done, and Regan was a fantastic server!! Besides the fact the food was delicious, I hope management is able to give recognition to their awesome staff. They made the whole experience memorable.

We went here on Friday evening. The server seated us at the very back of the second floor - right in front of the blasting AC! We had to move ourselves to another table as it was super cold (in the middle of hot summer!). - kids cheeseburger with sweet potato fries & milk: my kid finished the whole burger! He likes the soft buns and the patty was seasoned perfectly. The sweet potato fries were delicious: crispy, crunchy, a bit salty. - chicken marsala: my hubby said that the garlic mushroom sauce was delicious but it was too little. The chicken was tender and the breading was crispy and flavorful. The mash potatoes were fluffy and well seasoned. The asparagus were cooked perfectly. - seared ahi tuna burger with fries: the ahi tuna was disappointing. The inside was still cold although the sear was perfect. The slaw was tangy and nice. The buns were soft and toasted perfectly. The fries were good and well seasoned. The dipping sauce was delicious!
This is such a hidden gem in old folsom. Everything we ordered was delicious. From the jalapeno Mac n cheese, buffalo fries, calamari, burrata, the steak salad. Everything was seasoned well and so tasty. The manhattan was nicely crafted and good. My friend love the seasonal honey comb drink. Definitely a return to tried other dishes. Make reservations as it’s a small restaurant but they have both in and outdoor seating. Follow me @Only1Christinelu (IG & TikTok) 1.5M on Google
The day was hot outside and a busy day. The restaurant was kinda muggy, AC was working overtime. Our waitress did her best to take care of our needs. When our food was served the fish was over cooked and had to be sent back. I finished eating my prime rib dip before the new fish dinner was reserved. Everything tasted good, just took time and we made an afternoon of it.

Had lunch at Plank today. Due to the windy weather we decided to forgo an outdoor table and eat inside. Tables were somewhat cramped and noise level was a bit loud. Our server (Dallas) was friendly and attentive. I ordered the Prime Rib French Dip sandwich with tots. It was delicious! My husband ordered the Frankie’s salad and was disappointed. The steak was salty, overcooked and tough. We don’t want to write this place off because of one bad entree so we are looking forward to returning when the weather is better for a burger and a beer on the patio.
Very nice place in old town Folsom. Great vibe and atmosphere, The first time we went the food was better. The last couple times it was decent but not outstanding like the first time. The calamari and the loaded tots were the best appetizers and the drinks were good. The pork belly tacos were just ok. Its a nice place in Folsom to take the family for a good meal at a decent price.

We sat down on the patio for dinner. Our waitress didn’t come over to us for a while, and then the hostess came over. We asked her if she could wipe the table cause it was all dirty. Then she disappeared came back and only cleaned a little part of the table Top. Took a long time to get our order we asked if we could substitute stream beans and was told it would be three dollars. They charged us six. I got a French dip sandwich and never got any creamed horseradish for it and nobody ever came back to check the meal? Buy the time they got me the horseradish my sandwich was cold and stale I ordered sweet potato fries with my prime rib sandwich that was $22 and they charge me four dollars extra??? I was so disappointed. I have gone there several times and have been happy. It has gone downhill. The manager was too busy defending their need to make $2000 for the shift that she couldn’t offer us Anything Not experienced in the restaurant management business People are not trained well there Our waitress was nice enough, but she had Over 10 tables??? I’m not going back
We were a party of four this evening at around 6:00 PM.. Our server was polite and tried to be attentive but I believe this place has serious staffing issues in both the kitchen and wait staff. It took over 30 minutes after ordering for our food to arrive but it came I pieces so we had to wait for one of the meals after the others were served. I believe four different servers delivered our meals so no one seemed clear what our orders should be. Only one of the sides we ordered were correct and the other three were wrong. The “wrong sides” were served cold. I believe this place may have potential, but this was our first experience here and it will be our last. It was a disappointing experience.

Not able to give an accurate review of how the food tasted as we did not receive any food within an hour of seating. We paid the 40$ and left about our Gabe and the owners festive Valentine’s Day attire. Hopefully Gabe got the full meal for my son and I or at least the tip and the ticket. Will be telling the bad Valentine’s Day story won’t be trying again.
