Went to pick on dinner yesterday. I got the the chicken karage bento box. It was affordable, fresh snd tasted great. The staff was very friendly , I was waiting in the car for it to finish prepping it and they ended up bringing to me in the car which was very nice of them! The inside was nice and clean as well. Definitely a place to check out for casual eat in or take out. Planning to go back to try their ramen!

The food here is delicious and the service is very friendly. The price is very reasonable. I've already tried the acevichado and it's delicious. I recommend it to everyone. The place is spectacular, the service is good, and the food is delicious. Don't wait any longer and go and enjoy authentic Japanese food.

I love the food in this location. The flavor is Amazing, they use real meat real vegetables, you can tell the difference. The environment is very calm lay back. Plenty of sitting space the quality of food is amazing. The presentation of food is amazing. You get more food in one plate at this location. Then you would at any other location. Everybody who works here is super friendly and super. Nice. I fully recommend this location. You won't regret eating here. The food will have you come back! It tastes that good!

I came here with my friends for the first time and had such a great experience! The food was delicious and fresh, it was definitely some of the best Japanese cuisine I've had in a while. The atmosphere was really cozy and welcoming, and the staff made the whole experience even better the owner was super friendly and made us feel right at home, which honestly made the meal so much more fun. l'll definitely be coming back and recommending this spot to friends and family!

On a chilly rainy day my husband and I were really feeling pork katsu and decided to finally check out Kazan and we are glad we did! The service was fantastic, the food came out reasonably quickly but not alarmingly so and the pork katsu was great! We got the lunch special which comes with a miso soup or soda (we got soup) and it was only 15 dollars each. The portion was just slightly slightly small and to be honest, we don't hate that. Allowe us to try more when we go. I think prices improved and the menu has expanded since they first opened which is much appreciated. We are really happy there is a chill, quality spot to grab a meal before a movie or doing any activity. You order at the counter and the host brings the food to you. I love that! Those kinds of places are disappearing. A place to get a nice, tasty high quality meal quickly and at a good price. We are excited to try more menu items. My only issues are (and they are not a big deal) if you dine in the meal still comes in to go containers which worries me that they get thrown out after people finish eating instead of washed. I worry about excessive plastic waste. Just something to keep in mind! Also there is no music on the restaurant. I think a little soft music would make the place beautiful. None of these issues have anything to do with the most important things: food and service. The food and service are great and I am looking forward to trying more!

I had a truly excellent dining experience here. The pork teriyaki lunch special was tender, well seasoned and plated more elegantly than any lunch special I ever had before. The service was prompt and excellent and the hostess a wonderful person. This should be your go to place for Japanese Food in Forest Hills.

I truly looove their sushi rolls. I also had the Chahan (Japanese stir-fry rice) but my son loved it so much I didn’t even get a chance to take a picture of it, before I knew it, it was gone! They do have tables there but I see it’s more of a take out restaurant. Always getting calls for pick-up orders. Definitely recommend! 👍🏻

Came here to eat before watching a movie and the service went above and beyond. The kindness of the host gave a welcome atmosphere that just tells you they want you here. My meal in total was 50 dollars for two Ornigri, Two sushi rolls (8pcs each), drinks, dumplings and more. Highly recommend to sushi lovers who want a good price and great quality

Wow. Simply delicious! If you’re looking for clean, fresh and a unique approach to Sushi and Japanese fare, please give this place a try. The owners are Peruvian and Japanese and that should say enough about their approach to their cuisine. Everything was fresh, the sushi, the teriyaki, the salad…. All delicious and memorable. I can’t say enough about how good the meal was and happy to be a fan of sushi again. Don’t hesitate. Give them a try!

I had a really great experience. I got the shoyu ramen and 3 rolls, and everything was fresh and stuffing. I especially liked the flavor of the shoyu ramen, it was a nice balance of umami. The rolls were cut nicely and weren’t lacking in any filling, very tasty. I ordered to go, and the packaging was organized nicely, all secured and ready to be eaten. The service was also excellent, the people here are incredibly friendly and fast. They were so kind and made my experience better. Would come again!

This place is so good. Very kind owners… I ordered the chicken teriyaki dinner and it was delicious. I even enjoyed their sushi rolls and I’m not a big sushi eater, that should say a lot. I will definitely be coming back here :)

Small, cute little casual place that has been open for 5 months. Not an extensive menu but what we had was excellent. Best tonkatsu. Breading was crispy and chicken tender. Eel roll was not on the menu but was specially made and very fresh. Menu is still being modified. Very worth checking out.

I've had chicken teriyaki from a few local places such as, Bamboo Ya & Yellowstone Sushi, both of which serve excellent, crisp, fresh "off the grill" tasting chicken breast, drizzled with teriyaki sauce, on a bed of fried onions. However, Kazan's version of the dish was decent but it lacked a crispness and texture that I expected. The flavor was okay, a bit lacking, but definitely not bad. In other words, it's food. Not spectacular but also totally edible, healthy tasting, and something I would eat again since I'm not that fussy. The prices though are a bit high. $20+ dollars for a bento box, and the small bottles of Saratoga spring water are $3 each! No Poland Spring option... I mean, this is a lunch and dinner spot not some fancy place 😅.

We wanted to like this place but unfortunately it was just bad. Service was ridiculously slow for what we ordered. Food was ready at different times by like 10 minutes for two people. The pictures on the windows aren't what you can order. No ginger or wasabi with the sushi. The fish tasted less than fresh. The tonkatsu was over cooked. It doesn't really look like they renovated the place from when it was Chinese take out. They need to consider how they are operating if they want to keep their doors open.
