This Luby’s has a wide variety of freshly prepared food, friendly and helpful workers, a nice ambience (three walls are filled w huge windows) and good prices. You can choose to eat healthy or unhealthy! For those on a budget, you can save $2 by getting the LuAnn plate, which is half the serving of a meat with two sides and a roll. You could also choose soup and a salad. But I go because of the wide selection that is offered. Where else can you choose from a range of main dishes that include: turkey slices, fried chicken, thick angus burgers, liver and onions to fresh fish - and more! The variety is great for groups and families because everyone can find what they like. If you’ve never been to a Luby’s in the last few years, you might be startled If you pay w a credit card and are asked asked some version of: “do you want change?” They recognize that today, people don’t always carry cash and they want to be sure that you have some in case you’d like to tip the employee who will refill your drinks, bring extra napkins or check on a side that wasn’t there when you were in line. It’s really a great system. Whether you’re eating alone or in a large group, this is a great place to get freshly made food quickly (unless a bus load of people just arrived!!! Even then, the line moves quickly).
I am really happy to know that not all Luby's restaurants have closed. This location was very clean, the staff was very friendly and there were more than enough food options. The food was very hot and fresh as well as the deserts. The cafeteria floor area was very clean. This is another definite return.
dealed day 33$ stuff bag to go as well... no 15.99 cup to support but waiter loved me mini foam soda cup that's how I no restroom alil heavy but nothing to the cough! proud I actually liked it grandal had happy laughfter hi's about the cowboy fans she was coming in didn't no by trays is the line said I was half blind to not scare the starers ! lol
Excellent food, numerous entrée choices and really nice people. If you don't have a "sweet tooth" you will have one when you see the dessert choices, especially the pies..
I love the guy in the drive thru he is always polite and gets my order right every time. Great customer service give him a raise His name is Tim! You are the best. Give this man a raise 💪🏾
Everything was good. Just a little crowded. However, I will continue to go back! I really appreciate the staff. The gentleman who brought me my food showed me food to assure my order was correct and complete! We need more of this from all restaurants.
Blast from the past! A dying breed. I hope these places make a comeback! Please don't go out of business!
Love to eat here. Good food, relaxed atmosphere.
The food is always delicious 😋 and the service has been better, but i5 hasn't stop me from returning yet. Highly recommend this Luby's .
I wish there were more Lucy's. I loved the fried fish and my Coconut creme pie.
So glad there is still one Luby's left in Fort Worth. They have the best cornbread cook. He puts extra butter on to make them shine. Mah Jong games going on. People happy and laughing. Cool a/c, good homestyle cooking made from scratch - God bless Luby's!
I don't know wth is going on w/Luby's Inc. but if one more Luby's closes, I'll be calling Channel 8 protesting! Me and about 250k more people who feel like I do! WONDERFUL job people! Food, atmosphere, people, everything is wonderful! Forest Hill location, you guys keep doing what y'all BEEN doing, it works! The Metroplex, we're ALL behind you!
The food at this location was the freshest and best tasting food out of any Lubys I've ever been to and the staff are like family🙏🏾♥️🙏🏾❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
Very nice. Service is great.
A real good friend took me and some other friends here yesterday for lunch, and let me say this was the best Luby's I've been too in a loooooong time. I highly recommend trying this one out. I had the baked chicken, stuffing, mashed potatoes, with brown gravy, and corn. Oh and 2 jalapeno peppers . The sweet tea was very good as well. Hope yall give them a try,and happy eating!!!
I have eaten here and ordered take out, I am so glad this Luby's is still open
If you are starved, completely over cooking, but hungry for a good ole southern country meal, you always know Luby's is going to hit the spot. Everything was top-notch at this location! I wont bore you with over-the-top descriptions of the food because you already know - and that's comforting too! Highly recommend.
I was a bit surprised and overwhelmed by the crowd and so many options but the entire experience was great. The food was even better.
Very clean. Brings back soo many memories. My mother used to work for Lubys back in the day and she really enjoyed it. Thank you for continuing the traditions.
Tall chris is the best server ever! Will come back just for his exceptional service. Great food, good atmosphere love this place.
Everytime I am in Texas.... this is just one of my go to places that I love dearly. It just keeps getting better & better. I had the managers Southern fried fish special. It was so delicious.. My hats off to the chefs. Thank you Luby's
Came here tonight for some dinner and it was delicious! Chris was our server and he did fantastic! I definitely recommend this place for a quick bite.
Luby's in Fort Worth, Texas had a nice assortment of food. All of entrees were fresh, including the salad and desserts. The service and atmosphere was excellent.
This place was recommended by the front desk person at the hotel I was at. I saw the menu prices online and thought that they could be too low or wrong but when I got to the restaurant the prices are very reasonable and the food is very good. Had to chop steak and it was pretty awesome. I look forward to coming back there especially getting a meal to size dessert for under $20 is pretty unheard of these days
If you've ever been to Luby's, you know what it's like. Decent food and nice staff at a good price.
Excellent service with our server checking on us multiple times and being very helpful, thank you for your service! Great lunch!
I'm gonna have to say the food here has definitely improved over the years. Nice portions and delicious home cooked type meals.
Go eat first thing when they open at 11am in order to eat the freshest good cooking food!
Good food, helpful staff, and clean tables, and plenty of good places to eat at inside. Wish that there were more Luby's around.
The food is always good and hot. Most of the servers are fast and friendly.
Great fresh food, great people. Thank you Jason for helping me with my brother 🫠 Pork chops😋
We no longer have a Luby's in the area of Texas that I live, and I was so glad we decided on Luby's. The food variety was great, and super good!!!!! It was 14 of us and the service was on top, everyone enjoyed their food, it was fresh, seasoned well and the staff was friendly, service with a Smile!!! I really wish we had a Luby's in my part of Texas!!!
Everything about our visit to Luby's was excellent! Food was hot. & fresh & the servers were very nice people who went out of their way to make sure we were all satisfied with our meal.
This is not your typical bland, cafeteria/buffet food. We drive across the city at least twice a month for such a yummy lunch. Everything tastes like you're eating at your grandma's kitchen table!
So I’m in my 60s I have grown up eating at Luby’s cafeteria!! I’m so happy we still have one here in Fort Worth I just ate here the other day. The food was so on point. It was amazing. I had liver and onions that were delicious cornbread that was perfectly made mac & cheese that was good old-fashioned, and fried okra that was perfect as well. Also, I had the cherry pie bravo the meal was 10 out of 10
A group decision to go to Lubys. Cafeterias are not my jam but the food was great. The chicken fried steak was as ,good or better, than I would get at my favorite haunt. It was a nice surprise
I ordered their Thanksgiving dinner option this year. It had all the fixings I needed. Upon pickup, they were very organized and friendly when they gave me my order. I picked it up the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. I was given heating instructions and everything I ordered with a smile. The next day, we sat down to a wonderfully delicious spread of food. The turkey was moist, the dressing was scrumptious and the sides were so yummy. The entire family was happy and we all got our tummies full without all the stress of making the dinner myself. It even included a pie for dessert!! What more could one ask for? Thank you Luby's for the delicious food! Happy Thanksgiving!!!
They didn’t disappoint from the food and customer service and I arrived at 7:30pm before closing. One of the employees made sure I had fresh dressing and gravy♥️♥️ I drove from South Arlington do to the Copper location closing 4yrs ago.. Everything was perfect I wish I had the name of the guy running the drive thru wth the headset cause he definitely was on his game on both sides..
Last time I visited was almost 12 hrs ago. Wow what a difference! Many main dish options and sides galore. I could taste why there was a full house. Had the chicken fried steak and it was bigger than the plate.
I love me some lubys. Best place for a home cooked meal and family environment. The wait staff are attentive and friendly, the food is fresh and warm and delicious. I even like seeing the men playing chess in the background. Its my Sunday after church place to be.
Hadn’t been to a Luby’s in more than 30 years. It did not disappoint!! Talk about consistency and quality! Great, friendly service. Salads are now pre-packaged but they are large! Strawberry& bananas. Carrot & raisin salad. Luann portions. Combo portions. Liver and onions are sooo delicious ( if you like that). Mashed potatoes are made from scratch- not instant. So many sides to choose from. I saw chicken fried steak that was so huge that it got it’s own plate. Fried fish was very good. Choices of wheat rolls, white rolls, plain or spicy corn bread. Desserts galore- warm banana pudding, apple, cherry, pecan, buttermilk pies. Coconut cream pies. Cheesecake. Strawberry shortcake, etc! Definitely worth a visit.

Lubys speaks for itself. Wish the Plano location didn't close and now I have to depend on the Forest Hill location to bless my belly.
Reminded me of old times and my family having the 'cafeteria' experience. Any experience that reminds me of yesteryear, I'm all in!! food, service and the typical ambiance was home like.

For a cafeteria-style restaurant, it was pretty good. The food was good and hot. Lots of choices. The food was fresh. The restaurant was clean. The staff was friendly.
We each had the Luanne platter with chicken fried steak. Everything tasted great and the portions were perfect.
Now I don't know how the food is normally but today!!! It was on! The liver and onions, the sweet potatoes , baked chicken , corn, dressing , turkey , everything was awesome!!!! Somebody back there…
The older lady serving the meats wasn't too friendly, as a matter of fact everyone on the serving line didn't seem happy or friendly. The only person we came across that was nice, friendly, helpful and in a good mood was the young girl with braces that was our waitress. I personally don't even think it is because of tips, she genuinely seems like she's very nice. Food was good as always.
The food was good. My mashed potatoes could have been warmer but did have good flavour. The service was so good and the staff was nice. Customers are friendly. A great place to fellowship after church.
Say what you will; I like it. Decent food and prices. Big tables in big dining area. Employees come around offering drink refills. Cloth napkins. Real silverware. Not bad. Good for business meets, if you're not trying to impress.
This Luby’s was the busiest location I’ve been to in a while. I thought it might have been senior citizens day but the specials so not start until 3:00 pm and it was only 1:30. Cafeteria staff was helpful but not overly friendly. Cashier was nice. Busboy/waiter was nice but he was busy with so many patrons. Overall good experience.
Pretty darn good. I don't think I've eaten at a lubys but once in the past 25yrs. I was invited today and it surpassed my expectations and the memory of that last experience has now been erased. Fried chicken good. Mashed potatoes were good. Rossted rosemary potatoes good. Chicken fried chicken with brown gravy was kinda dry but still good. Wish my cornbread was warmer but guess that's to be expected from the type of item. Chocolate cake was good but very rich. Was only able to eat a little of it. Our waitress or whoever was supposed to clear our table of dishes didn't. We were given to go cups and tipped the waitress quite well but we ended up staying to talk somemore thereafter and the dishes remained. I didn't like that.
We enjoyed Christmas lunch at the Forrest Hills Luby's cafeteria and are thankful for all the great employees that came to work on this special day. We had Fried Fish and Blackened Chicken for entrees and Asparagus, Roasted Potatoes, Sweet Potatoes, Macaroni and cheese and a cup of seafood gumbo as sides. A piece of Chocolate Pie was dessert. Altogether, the meal cost $29 which felt about right.
Everything was good. Except the peach pie. It had no flavor and not sweet. I have had their home made pies before and they were delicious.
I say no wait... Let's put the exception of church days, the line is wrapped all the way around! But we normally wait I don't take too long. I don't know why it's super up there on my list, I get one thing and one thing only have always gotten it. The chopsteak with natural gravy, potatoes with natural gravy, cabbage, a wheat roll, & a jalapeno pepper 🤤 sweet tea! Is on point and it reminds me of being a little girl at Wyatt's Cafe
We were staying at a hotel across the street from Luby's. We hadn't been to Luby's in several years. We always loved going there since we were young. I got my favorites which included a chopped steak, Mac and cheese, pinto beans and a dinner roll. Everything was fantastic including the service. The iced tea was fresh and tasted great I miss the butternut brownie pie and Oreo cheesecake. They were absolutely terrific back in the day before covid. I would have given Luby's 5 stars of they stillsde those desserts.
This location was better by far this time compared to the last two times we dined here. Fried cod and fried chicken tonight. Everything was fresh. The device was good. The server made sure we had everything we needed. We would come here again based on this experience.
I love that this lubys is here. It makes me so happy when I visit this side of town. The food is delish and reasonably priced. My only complaint is the weird waitstaff. Why?
My husband and I recently enjoyed a satisfying dining experience at Luby's located at 3312 SE Loop 820 Forest Hill Fort Worth, TX 76140. We both indulged in a variety of dishes that left us pleased with our choice. My husband's selection of roasted chicken, corn, sweet potatoes, stuffing, and pea salad exceeded expectations. Each element was cooked to perfection, and the flavors were delightful—a perfect remedy for our case of the munchies. Meanwhile, I opted for the fried chicken, and though the cabbage could benefit from a touch less water and a bit more seasoning, it was still enjoyable. The sweet potatoes, pea salad, and cornbread rounded out my meal nicely. For dessert, my husband found delight in the chocolate cake, even though it didn't quite match my taste preferences. I went for the strawberry shortcake, which was decent, but the strawberry filling lacked the genuine essence of strawberries. Importantly, the Luby's at this location holds a special place in our hearts, being our favorite among the others that unfortunately closed throughout Texas. We sincerely hope this particular location continues to thrive. The overall dining experience was pleasant, with a clean dining area, and our server was attentive and polite. We eagerly anticipate our next visit to Luby's.

Not enough employees working there to help the customers that show up.I had a long wait time!
Luby's is a long time community eatery who serves cafeteria style meals. I had not eaten there in quite some time. The food was not very tasty...the food tasted old (not fresh) with no flavor
The atmosphere was nice and I could see that a lot of people really enjoy their food. The service was good and most of the employees seemed friendly. Their was a variety of choices and I like how they had that set up. This was my first time trying their food and it was ok. I probably won't be making frequent visits to Luby's. I came for the liver and onions but I tried other things as well. The liver and onions for me was ok. The catfish was ok but did not taste like real catfish. The chicken fried chicken tasted salty to me and my grandson did not like it at all. Both of us thought the mac n cheese was just ok. I'm glad other people enjoy Luby's but its just ok to me.
Love the place , but there is room for improvement. Let go of the poor attitude employees, who act if they don't want to be there .. Second poor maintenance of the building the windows look dirty in side and out side. Third, the carpet smells and is wear out needs replacement. Cleanness is first priority for management outside the parking lot and inside the restaurant every minutes a interior walk around is required.. Personal request the Turkey Dinner meat is always serviced cool why?? It needs to be serve HOT with its side..
Disappointing. Long time since I have found a Luby’s Was excited till I got inside. No atmosphere like it used to have years ago. The food just didn’t look appetizing the way it was presented.
Be careful if you have a fish allergy as the fried okra gave me a mild reaction. They fry a lot of fish and cross contamination is an issue. The food is decent but not above that.
Lubys serve delicious food. The pinto beans taste good and I look forward to eating them. But I was disappointed when eating them on Tuesday. They were very spicy tasted like jalapeño has been added in the beans. Usually they have a mild taste, but this time they were very spicy. Please do not add extra seasoning to the beans. .
Against better judgment we decided to wait for the bacon cheese steak. We kept being told it would take ten minutes. I lost track of time. It seem to have taken longer. However the food was undercooked when we received it. We should have returned it... but lesson learned...go with what is already prepared.
It has been many years since I have eaten at a Lubys. Sorry that the Plano location closed. The Midway cafeteria is a bit of a drive from my home.\n\nHad the rectangular fried fish which tasted just …
Place was clean. Great service. Only ding was that my fish was lukewarm. I after three bites I cautiously decided not to go further and risk food borne illness.
This location was awful I went to pick up an order and employees were cussing at each other and the employees were rude.. I've never seen such disrespectful behavior
What happened to the square cod fried fish and the creamy candied yams topped with marshmallows? I ordered from the Uber app and thought that's what I was getting but instead got fried catfish and a tiny over cooked baked sweet potato. Sorry but the catfish was not good and the baked yam was worse. Even worse the app doesn't tell you these small details. Tricky business leaves poor reviews. Shame on you Lubys. Bring back the good stuff. The classics. And update details on food delivery apps!
Food was good. Cabbage and broccoli tends to be hard. ALWAYS GET TO GO BOXES, dishes are never clean. Although, there were a few nice staff members like Serina and Nez something. The managers seem rude and i can tell they dont treat the staff right. Was thinking about letting my grandson work there but when i asked the older ladies how they felt the managers were, I was just told the managers talk mean to the employees especially the main boss. The one manager with hair seems loud and obnoxious and sounded like he was actually gossiping about employees. Thankful for the two nice ladies that made my time worth it though. Wish they were servers and not hid behind the line. Their hospitality is unmatched. I may come back because overall it was a good experience. I do miss the hulen location though.
When walking in, we weren't met with instructions on what to do. My family and I were first timers. Once we figured it out, we noticed the plethora of food that was available for us. I was dead set on the fish but when I went to choose it, there was only 2 pieces left. I asked how fresh it was and I was met with "it's been there a while just add gravy." Hardly what you want to hear when you are wanting to feed a family that's traveling on the road with hours to drive. Next, what was shown on the menu was not available. I was told this was because "they were closing within the hour and they had a other for clean up and weren't going to make new food". Hardly what you want to hear as a consumer.... Luby's... be better.
We came at 4:15 on a Tuesday. I got Louann platter chicken fried steak. I couldn't eat it, let alone cut it. They brought me a new one that was " fresh". I ate half and gave my other half to my husband. In my opinion it sure wasn't worth 25 bucks
Yesterday 7/27/2025 was awful..the lemon ice box pie had an extra layer of sugar under the gram cracker crust, which made it way too sweet and the strawberry shortcake was very stale, the strawberr…

The service staff at the counter were rude. The food was not good. The only redeeming quality was our waiter at the table was friendly.
I'm leaving lubys now without any food because they said I have to go through the line to get a to go order because they closed the to go register but people are still ordering at the drive thru
Called 3x too busy to answer a simple phone call, I seldom wish bad to a company but you would think of the number of restaurants closing luby’s would attempt to do the best job possible, luby’s has fallen from grace
I go here and take my clients. I ordered a chicken fried steak mashed potatoes and okra. The gravy was put on my potatoes and not on steak as asked. I got a luane meal and my steak was size of the roll. The servers was laughing at us and you don't laugh at people with a disability. I asked for the manager and they sent another waitress that said she is the manager. I got a refund on my biscuit steak and she had to get the "manager" to do it. As they was doing my refund they was laughing again even manager. I was sitting at first table so heard and saw it all. My clients liver and onions were so cold and hard we sent back twice. We still got cold liver with hot gravy on top. I was not going to not pay for anything so we just bagged up her food and left so she can heat in microwave
Stood in line at register, while the cashier ALLOWED to go orders to cut in front & then decided to carry on a conversation with them. Our food was COLD by the time we sat down, so most likely it wasn't very hot to begin with. The baked fish was WAY over cooked & the roasted potatoes were just gross. Jalapeño cornbread was good. This was our second time & our last. Cleanliness in the food line is not their priority & they could careless about temperature of food
Came Sunday Evening to this location to get the roaster chicken and unfortunately there was blood and rawness still in the chicken as if it was not cooked at all in the inside. Very bad and disappointing.
They NEVER wear GLOVES in the to go area and they are hanging on the wall for their use. I ask a server why they don’t wear gloves and she ignored me after scratching her arm. This is NOT acceptable when you’re handling people’s food.and management is doing the same thing, NOT WEARING GLOVES in the carry out area. WEAR GLOVES Please. I have had my plate made over multiple times now because of servers NOT WEARING GLOVES handling my food!!!!!!! Don’t know where your hands been………
Didn't like the food!! Poor waitress she did her best!! They be rushing to much for me. My cake was hard had to send it back
Went to drive-thru around 4:30pm and waiting in line for about 45min. When I was finally able to order they were out of the sides I wanted. They had no CABBAGE, SPINACH, CORN or KALE (I understood about the kale because it's seasonal). However, I had no understanding about the other sides. I got mad and said, ,"you just tell me what you have. It's barely 5pm and y'all don't close until 7 or 8pm." The guy taking the order could have easily said "we need to cook more", and I could have had the choice to stay, leave or order something else. This is unacceptable!!!! It was too early to be telling people that you are out of food. Especially after waiting in line nearly an hour. Please fix this!!!
I never thought I’d have to write a letter like this, especially about a place my family has trusted and enjoyed for years. However, after what we endured at your Luby’s location on October 19, 2025, I’m left with no choice but to demand answers. On this visit, my mother, a loyal customer of yours for years, was violently and unprovokedly ATTACKED by one of your staff members, Amy. Without any warning or reason, Amy slung a BOWL of scalding hot cabbage directly at my mother, as though she was somehow deserving of this cruelty. I was left in a state of shock as this boiling food was tossed with such carelessness, it could have caused serious injury. But it didn’t stop there. This same employee – who should have been serving us with respect – chose to escalate the situation further. Loudly and aggressively, she asked us, “What do you wanna do?” as if we were somehow threatening her, when in reality, we were just customers, shocked and appalled by what was happening. To be confronted with this kind of behavior in a place we thought of as a safe, respectable establishment was beyond infuriating. What makes this even worse is that when we sought help from the managers, NOTHING was done. They stood by and allowed Amy to continue working, as if nothing had occurred, as if a customer was not just subjected to verbal and physical aggression. No apology. No acknowledgment. Just a blatant disregard for the safety and dignity of paying customers. We have been loyal to Luby’s for YEARS, dining there almost every Sunday. This was not just an incident; it was a betrayal of everything we thought this restaurant stood for. The way we were treated was not only shocking, it was inexcusable. We demand that you take immediate and decisive action to address this incident. I expect a formal apology, and more importantly, assurance that steps will be taken to prevent such a horrifying experience from ever happening to us or anyone else again. We will be looking for a response soon. How this matter is handled will determine whether we continue to spend our Sundays at Luby’s or take our business elsewhere.
I am from out of state and I make it my business to stop by Luby's for liver and onions at least once on my trip. This is my first time ever visiting this location and my last. I was very disappointed . The liver was so thin and cooked hard. The cheese sauce for my broccoli was like water. I tried to eat some of it and pushed the plate to the side. The waitress came over and said do you need a To go container and I said oh no it's not good she grabbed the plate off the table and walked off without another word to me. I got my things and just left. Not a good experience at all
