The food was absolutely delicious. The outside area with the fire pit was a cool vibe. Plenty of seating inside with tvs all over. We ordered a variety of apps, meals, and drinks and can’t complain about any of it. Definitely recommend the Brussels sprouts as a starter.
We've been coming to Thirsty Lion since this location opened. They updated their loyalty program and frankly it's made us come to any of the locations less (they no longer give you rewards for visiting). Their happy hour has remained solid throughout the years in terms of standard times (daily 3p-6p). Food & drink prices (everywhere) have increased. Their food quality overall has been consistent and I personally like the monthly menu on top of the standard menu.
Really good food and great service. The ahi tuna poke stack was delicious. I was really impressed with the quality of the tuna. Other menu highlights include the reuben sandwich that was loaded with tasty corned beef and the seasonal cedar plank salmon. It's worth noting they have a daily happy hour from 3 to 6 PM that offers deep discounts for most of the appetizers and many cocktails. 😀
This was mine and my wife’s first time here and it was amazing. It took I bit to get seated but it was worth it. The food is amazing. Very friendly staff. Will be back here.
Food is always good, I have not had anything that didn’t taste good. Poke stack is one of our favorites. Drinks are on point Rylin is the nicest and most pleasant bartender we have met so sweet and amazing drinks love our Martinis 🍸 We had a food and drink day for my sister birthday and all of a sudden you see a manager come out with ice cream and wish her a Happy Birthday with a card, little did Billie know we had such a bad experience earlier and that act of kindness made my sister very happy. Thank you Billie and Rylin! Great experience and amazing team! Of course we will be back.
We had lunch at the Thirsty Lion, and it was amazing. Our waitress was super attentive taking extra care to ensure the allergen was not on my plate! the drinks were delicious as well. Restaurant was very clean and spacious.
Best service anywhere in a really long time! Will be going back just because of our server! I want to put her name down, but I don’t because I don’t want her busy when we go there. Yes, I’m selfish that way. I spoke to the manager Billie about how completely amazing she was and they WOW Billie was also incredible! So many amazing women working there! It seems like an exceptional place to work! The food was incredible, BUT the dessert was beyond anything I’ve ever put in my mouth!
We came in for Arizona restaurant week and lett me just say, if you're considering it- DO IT. For $33 per person you get a three course meal and everything we had was absolutely on point! So delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly and bursting with flavor. It felt like the cooks really cared about details and took pride in what they were sending out to the tables. Our server, Brooklyn, was very attentive and helpful, and overall we can't say enough about how great of an experience it was. For whatever reason I have not been able to find a place that will actually cook my burger medium rare. It's always medium or even well done. But the cooks at Thirsty Lion got me a PERFECT medium rare burger. Made my day! We had a ton of fun and left super full and happy!
I love the mix drinks and food here! Great customer service Update!!! 9/12/25. Great service, great drinks and food. Please quit serving fries that's wilted!,,make the fresh and crispy. Shame! I won't change my stars this time. We come here alot, I'll be checking on that next time.
We have been trying to find our "go to" casual pub with good (if not great) food. We felt like we've been all over and either the food was bad (like BAD) or they played live music on the weekends, thus making conversation impossible (and then why bother going out?). We FINALLY found THE spot!!! The atmosphere is chill and the music is NOT blaring! I can't tell you how many places play the music to max level allowed. I really want to converse with the company I go out with, so I can't tell you how much I appreciated it! Next is the level of detail in EVERYTHING: the food is great. Everything is made from scratch and even the side salads were delicious. The thoughtfulness put into each dish was really amazing for a pub. I love shrimp tacos but hate getting a whole shrimp and the rest of my taco is empty. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, juicy and delicious, AND cut into medium pieces so you could appreciate the quality while also having a balanced bite of ingredients. They cut up a small lime chunk per taco. Really well thought out. Our server Kaylee (so sorry if her name is misspelled! She was amazing!) was the perfect level of being attentive without overbearing (this can tough when we came in with just a little over an hour before closing). She was very knowledgeable and provided excellent recommendations! Last but certainly not least - the drinks. We typically find a bar is focused on a specific commodity of alcohol, but never have I seen a pub execute a listing cocktails (modern/claasic/and seasonal!), a variety of beers (craft/import/macro), AND a well balanced, quality wine list! We tried the Makers Manhattan and could not believe we got such a well executed, perfectly balanced Manhattan from a place that is not just focused on mixology. They were just lovely! We were just so impressed by how thoughtful every aspect of our experience was, and want to thank every member of their team (front line, back of the house, management, etc) for curating such a wonderful experience. It was everything we were looking for and more!!
Had lunch at Thirsty Lion and ordered the Mediterranean Chopped Chicken Bowl with a couple of beers. The food was excellent, and the service was outstanding. Highly recommend!
Great food and service. The server was super kind and friendly. We tried the breaded chicken tenderloins and Kung Pao Chicken. Both were really good. Would definitely try again.
Food was great as well as the atmosphere. We had the ceviche, I feel it could use more sauce it's very dry. Kimchi beef dish was great, burger & fries were as well. The pasta salad was packed with flavor! Service wasn't on point, the server seems to be very forgetful. Maybe it was just an off day for them but all in all I'll recommend hitting them up! *UPDATE* Came in 3/3/23 and sat on the patio. Azul was our server and she was the absolute best! Food was good but she was phenomenal! Definitely recommend sitting in her section if given the opportunity!
Great atmosphere! Came in on a weekday for happy hour and had appetizers with a girlfriend. Sat outside and it was so nice, they have great misters. Our waitress was wonderful, very attentive! The salmon cakes and calamari were delicious! Was able to really look over the menu, so many awesome choices. Definitely going back soon! Love the location too. Very clean inside. Only downside was no place to hang a purse in ladies room while using the handicap stall, Yuck! Yes, I'm disabled.
1st time visiting this restaurant was a great experience. The Gastropub burger was perfectly built and cooked. This burger is now in my top 10 of all-time burgers. #1 being Gordon Ramsey’s Burger in Las Vegas. I washed this down with a cold pint of Papago Orange Blossom beer. The server Chris, was super friendly and gladly answered any questions I had. His hospitality and menu knowledge was outstanding! The morning/lunch crew on Thurs Sept 29, and especially the hostess, were all working hard to keep the restaurant up to high standards. This is a neat restaurant. I will be returning soon.
I wanted to hate this place the second we got seated because "outside wasn't available" even though there was already one group out there and it was the best weather ever. I really wanted to hate it. But other than that the service was great and the food was delicious. I went for the fried cauliflower and their smoked pork ramen. I've been to a few ramen places nearby including the one in the same shopping center and this is now my go to. The broth was very good, a little spicy, and the meat wasn't suspicious at all - no traces of fat or anything. But it def isn't ramen noodles. AND I was able to take a ton of leftover broth home. Definitely not what I expected walking in.
Visited this location twice. Great service both times. One visit we were served by the bar tender. It was apparently busy enough to have bar tender take tables. Had the fish and chips meal first evening. Not the most tasting fish and chips. I enjoyed the fries. It was crisp and served hot, but not necessarily flavorfull. Second visit included the Gastropub Burger served with Gorgonzola infused burger with grilled sweet onion, maple pepper bacon, white cheddar, arugula and horseradish cream on grilled ciabatta. This meal was also served hot and was tasty. It was a large portion. Service this visit was less helpful and less interaction - taking a while to place out order and even a long time before bill and payment. This was another busy evening however.
Love this place! Have been going there for years and keep going back 😊 This place offers great food, service and atmosphere. They have so many delicious dishes but one of my favorite is Tuscan Romano Chicken. Their seasonal drink Winter's Cosmopolitan is a must to try. Highly recommend this place for any occasion!
Food was not visually appealing but it actually tasted pretty good. I got the Irish Shepherd's Pie and a classic mojito. Would recommend both. Service was great. Would definitely return.
We weren’t sure what to expect from a chain, but the food was very good. The service was prompt and friendly. Didn’t get photos of all the items we ordered, but we liked everything. Would definitely return because of the food and service.
Thirsty Lion San Tan made delicious scratch-made food, with great craft cocktails. You can taste the local ingredients and fresh flavors. The vibe is a mix of sports and music videos playing with indoor and outdoor seating. Happy Hour is every day from 3-6 pm! Our order: * Old fashioned * Tito’s cocktail * Chicken salad * Crispy chicken sandwich
Update: Today, 8/3, we stopped in after shopping and ate at the bar. Hayley and Perry were exceptional servers / bartenders. The food was better than ever. The GM, Mike Myers, is very approachable and understanding. Had the rueban and Cobb salad and they both were amazing!!! Stopped in for Happy Hour, and Billie was our server. She is the best ever. Full of the menu and beer knowledge. Her personality is second to none. Hopefully, I can request her station next time I visit.
If you're looking for a good weekend brunch spot... Thirsty Lion has it! Good food, drinks, and atmosphere! The food portions were filling, and their breakfast cocktails were tasty, but to be honest, overpriced. Service was fast and friendly. We went on a Saturday morning and didn't have to wait for a table!
Delicious! They had a lot of room, but it is wasn't actually too loud. The food and drinks were great. Service was a tad slow, but they seemed understaffed for such a large place. All in all, quite good 😊
Jada was our server tonight and she was absolutely amazing. Seeet, kind and on top of always making sure we were good. The drinks were delicious and the food hit the spot!!! Worth coming back and if you do, I hope you get served by Jada as well!!!!
The atmosphere and food was amazing! Our server was perfect. It was pretty busy but they were able to get us seated quickly and our food came out promptly. The brunch events looked like so much fun. I look forward to another visit! I would recommend the green chilli chicken and avocado sandwich!
Easily my new favorite place to eat! The portions are absolutely massive and are freaking delicious! Not to mention the drinks! Whether you like them light and flavorful or strong with a mean kick, the guys at the bar will have you set up! Add some of their nachos into the mix and you have a recipe for a perfect night!
I cannot say enough good things about Thirsty Lion in SanTan Village. We were in the area for a soccer tournament. I called to see if they could accommodate a large party within the hour. Not only did they accommodate for the amount of people I thought we would have, they accommodated for another 10-15 from the team that also decided to join last minute. The service was great! We all got our food and drinks rather quickly. Everything was delicious and the broad menu had something for everyone, kids and adults! This will definitely be our soccer go to spot when in the area. Thank you to everyone that helped make it a fun afternoon for our soccer girls and their families. They won their tournament and I’m sure it was all due to their delicious lunch and team bonding!
We frequent this spot for brunch primarily, chicken and waffles are 10/10 amazing. However we started dropping in for dinner on occasion. Our server, Azul has served my girlfriend and I on two occasions now. Fine dining level of service truly amazing, communicative and so helpful with the menu. She's amazing at her job and if she's on shift you should definitely request her. Great spot, solid food, great service! What more could you ask for?
Thirsty Lion on 2212 E. Williamsfield Everyone was great! Went for lunch after work and food was delicious! Beautiful hostesses met us with a smile. Tyler, our server, was excellent and made us feel comfortable. Had an awesome anime tattoo that opened up conversations. Food was delicious! My dish was the black cherry bbq tenderloin with mashed potatoes and veggies... delectable! Restaurant manager came to check how things were - professional. Clean establishment, despite the wind blowing and knocking things over behind us as we sat in front of the hostess stand, in front of the door. We originally didn’t want to be sat directly facing the hostess desk by the door so we were directed to a table directly in front of the hostess stand by the door - lol. We were told the remaining booth was reserved for people that never showed up. The seating ended up being okay because we sat facing the bar with our backs or sides against the hostess stand. Other than the seating debacle (which they couldn’t help as most good seats were taken), everything was great and I’d definitely go back again.
Thirsty Lion is one of our top 5 restaurants in the east valley. Great staff and friendly atmosphere. Lots of great menu items to choose from and never a disappointing meal. The food there is top notch.
I ate here 4 times while staying at the hotel next door. Every dish I had was fantastic. I was expecting pub grub, but really enjoyed the diversity of their menu. The service was great as well, everyone was very personable.
Food was great and the service was quick which surprised me for a Friday night at peak dinner time. Had the fried chicken Mac n cheese and I have to say the chicken tasted perfect and wasn't just thrown together in a rush. It's got a good location and even with the constant traffic of cars and people walking past it's not overwhelming and we didn't have to listen to cars burning out as they passed, so perfect experience all around
We(5 of us)had lunch. We all were happy with our food. Waiter was helpful, aiding in our food choices and making sure we were satisfied. It was Valentine's Day and service was great.
A very good variety of beers including local and draft. I really enjoyed the beer. There aren't many vegetarian dishes at this restaurant. But they can substitute beyond patties.
sister made a reservation for my 19th birthday :) food was great, music was even better! had Hannah as our server. kind, but let her know to get better at pretending she REALLY wants to be there.
Nice menu with very good service. Laid back ambiance. We eat clean and asked them to cook our food in olive oil which they were very respectful of. A very nice establishment though certainly nothing extraordinary.
Love the food and atmosphere. Came here for graduation 🎓 party of 20 with reservations. Unfortunately we were not seated at the same table despite request. It would be great if had one u-shaped table or square layout. Service was great and friendly👍
Good happy hour specials until 6 pm. We had the gastropub burger, fish & fries and the french dip. Food was very good. Our server Kaylee did an excellent job!
I liked it very much. The server was super kind and knowledgeable on the menu. Service was fast, food overall was good. I had the Benedict corn beef hash, it was somewhat plain but still good. I prefer my food veryyy seasoned, none of the dishes here give that, they’re all on the blan side a bit but not blan gross. The gochu hang KBBQ wasn’t good, I would not recommend. Nobody at our table liked it, too spicy, over smoked just not the vibe. Gosh and chips yes!
We had the fried Mac n cheese and Tuscan Romano chicken. The Mac & cheese was creamy, rich, and heavy, and paired wonderfully with the chicken. The tuscan Romano was okay. Not exceptional, but not bad either. We also ordered a hibiscus lemonade which tasted exactly like a typical lemonade.
Fun restaurant, enjoyed the trivia night, and the service was good, every employee was friendly. I was excited for my Beyond burger, but it came out cold, with wilted lettuce, wilted, weird onion, and cold, hard fries. The aioli was tasty, though. Maybe they had an off night! But I do appreciate them having gluten free and vegetarian options.
On my visit today . The atmosphere was rather nice. Not a big crowd and the music was rather to loud could hardly hear our own conversation. Ordered there gastropup burger. GASTROPUB BURGER* Gorgonzola infused burger with grilled sweet onion, maple pepper bacon, white cheddar, arugula and horseradish cream on grilled ciabatta. Sounded good. But when our meal arrived we had order medium rare and they came to us done. My wife sent hers back . Our server was very nice about it and understood. Frys where soggy and greasy. The burgers where very greasy leaving the plate with greasey arugula mess. Had the feel of PF chang but with burgers. Originally wanted a good steak but the only steak they have is " GRILLED RIBEYE STEAK* 12oz. Center cut ribeye seasoned with our rub, garlic butter and served with seasonal vegetables and chef’s accompaniment. Add grilled shrimp" and i be leave it would not be worth the almost $70.00 but that just me thinking if they cant get a burger order during a slow time if the day . They might not get a $70 steak right during a dinner rush. There cold slaw feel between quality of kfc and Walmart Flavorless but crisp. And if you get water might want to ask for ice. Tasted like it came strait from the kitchen tap and warm !
Ate at Thirsty Lion last night with another couple, we were seated outside which was great however our service was not. Our server asked us what we’d like to drink and we all got water. Waters were delivered to us and we all said thank you and we’re met with silence and a blank stare. It was clear she did not want to be there or help us with much. Food came out which was great, however anytime we would say thank you to our server she would ignore us. It felt like us eating there was a chore for her. Very disappointed in the service, a smile would have been nice.
I have a complaint that I don't want to get anyone in trouble but an issue that should be brought up in a meeting with staff. My husband and I were sitting at the bar and we had drinks and appetizers which were great - service was good but when I went to the restroom I saw one of the staff use the restroom while I was in there and she did not wash her hands after coming out of the stall. I was washing mine when she walked out of the restroom. Beyond disgusting. I definitely had an issue with it. I have never had this happen.
Came today at lunch, had the caprese salad and then the fries. The food was okay, and the service was amazing. I’m giving 1 star because, when the check was brought to the table, i’ve noticed a “2$ for the split” since my 2 friends asked to split the salad in 2 plates. Like, seriously? That’s just stupid and rude, it’s not for the 2 dollars, it’s just the principle that is wrong. That’s ridiculous.
We met friends there and they would not service. The waitress was incredibly rude will not ever go back for dinner or even a drink. Highly recommend avoiding this restaurant.
Absolutely horrible management that ignore staff and fire those who avoid being assaulted by unruly customers. If they let customers throw glasses at staff and take swings at them- who’s to say you won’t catch an empty wine glass to the side of the head while trying to enjoy your dinner and a drink.
SO THIS PLACE IS NOW TRYING TO DELETE ALLLL OF THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS AND HAVE DISABLE YELP REVIEWS! Everyone NEEDS TO FLOOD THEM WITH NEGATIVE REVIEWS…FAST!!!…………I will never support The Thirsty Lion again after learning how they handled a violent incident involving their own staff. Two female employees were assaulted by a drunk male patron who threw a glass at them and threw a punch but missed bc she ducked to The incident was serious enough that police were called, and the man was arrested and charged. Instead of standing behind their employees, management chose to fire both women…not for wrongdoing, but because one of them recorded the assault, reported it, and shared the video to try to find out who he was. The decision reportedly came after the man who assaulted them called the restaurant to complain. This sends a disturbing message…employee safety comes 2nd to appeasing violent customers. For a restaurant that serves alcohol, this is especially irresponsible. A business that punishes victims rather than protecting them does not deserve public support. Until The Thirsty Lion demonstrates accountability and a commitment to employee safety, I strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere!!!
Thirsty Lion firing 2 staff members who were assaulted by a man that their manager allowed to get drunk is absolutely disgusting. Thank you for showing us that your management and brand is ok with assault and abuse against women. Never eating at any of your restaurants again
