Family owned taste of New Orleans Restaurant. From Catfish Po-boys to King cakes. What a great find for when you want some great Cajun food. Run by a mother father and daughter trio. Was told they do live music and we're even having a Mardi Gras celebration. We ordered takeout and I will say after eating our meal this will definitely become one of our go-to restaurants.
Service Supreme! Very attentive and friendly staff. Food was plentiful and fantastic. I highly recommend the jambalaya and eggs, it's bursting with flavor and they don't skip on the shrimp!
Cajun is a staple in this community - it's the local's place to go to get an excellent meal and the very best service. We love all the servers and staff, very attentive and friendly - but special shout out to Ben - he's just awesome!
Lovely vegetarian and vegan food options. We had a great breakfast burrito and John’s scramble. We were seated quickly and the staff all really friendly. We will be back!
Went here on a Sunday morning and it was packed! We were able to score a booth that had a table added to it to fit our party of 7. The jambalaya and eggs (with the side of cornbread) were amazing! The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the dish overall had a nice little kick, but wasn't too spicy. It was savory and went well with the sweet cornbread added to it. I would 100% order again. The coffee is from a local SB roaster, so that is a must! Plus, do yourself a favor and order the table a plate of beignets! The service was very nice and accommodating! I would recommend this little gem of a breakfast place.
Our 1st time, got a table for 5 right away, greeted immediately and took our drink order. Server was stellar, very friendly, food came quickly. Big portions, nicely plated, tasty. Shrimp po boy was the hi lite, beignets were the only disappointment… dense with no flavor, lacked salt& sugar in the dough. Overall, recommend this cafe, large menu, well executed food, great service, we’ll definitely be back!
Amazingly delicious and fast!!! Seriously fast service. The food was awesome. Blackened catfish with eggs and home fries and a California eggs Benedict for me and of course beignets Louisiana style. I will definitely come back here again and try some other menu items...perhaps the jambalaya.
Amazing Cajun restaurant! They have a great menu with big portions and reasonable prices. We got the shrimp & andouille sausage with eggs, cheese, & grits, and the fried chicken with eggs, bacon, gravy on an English muffin. Both super filling and great flavors. It was really crowded, but we did go on a Saturday morning in July. The staff was running around and giving as fast of service as they could. We're definitely going back!
Tasty Cajun style foods are here! I went here for breakfast. We got the shrimp and andouille grits, jambalaya with eggs, and the fried chicken Benedict. I wished the jambalaya had okra in it, but still decent with out. The cornbread that came with the jambalaya tasted like your regular out of box mix. The grits were tasty. Decent sized shrimps for both dishes. The Benedict was good with the gravy. Service was good and quick.
We did not have to wait long for a seat. Dog friendly with seating on the patio. Service was friendly from everyone involved, although a bit of a wait at times. The food was delicious with the omelet having an abundance of fillings. Everything could have been a bit hotter to be even better. Fresh squeezed orange juice was amazing!
This place used to be Rustys back in 2008! Im glad it's Cajun Kitchen now. Tried Cajun Kitchen and for the most part the food was good. However, the beignet was not soft and fluffy like I've had at other establishments. While it didn't bother me, someone in my party that does not eat any seafood and notedthat some of the fried items had a hint of seafood taste. It may have been fried in same oil as seafood items. The pork chop on the other hand was delicious and bumped this review from 3 stars to 4 stars. On the drive back from Santa Barbara to LA the food didn't sit well with me. It could have been quality/freshness of ingredients went a little down. It was great for nostalgia, just not as great as I remember it.
Quite a popular place, full boarding during breakfast. Reviews on the Internet are good, but the reality is disappointing. We ordered benedict and an omelette, they chose hash brown, both hash browns were burnt, this can be seen in the photo. I asked for a replacement because it was impossible to eat, after which they brought me exactly the same burnt hash brown. Before ordering, I asked the waiter to explain the details of the dish to me, he rolled his eyes and sighed. The service here is as burnt as hash brown
Very disappointed. We have been patrons of Cajun for years. We were a party of 9, we asked to sit inside hostess said it would be 20 minutes. We waited for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Hostess kept sitting other patrons in the tables that could be joint together. We told hostess that we could sit in separate tables. She still sat other patrons in ahead of us. In total we waited an hour and 30 minutes to be sat down.
I've lived here 20+ years. When I first went there in 2002, it was one of the only places around for breakfast. The food was bland and undercooked sometimes and I never understood the long lines and wait. Flash forward to 2025 and I gave them another try. Same result, but this time I get a whole bay leaf in my burrito (so you have no warning because you can't see it). I don't know if the cooks around here just don't understand Cuban bean herbs or what (Cody's did this to last week and I threw up my breakfast because I accidentally swallowed part of one and my throat rejected it thank goodness), but the chefs didn't remove them. It's becoming a hazard to eat beans in a burrito in this town. Needless to say, I'm disappointed and won't be back for at least another 20 years. It cost me $17 + delivery and tip, btw. Not worth this price of they can't even put a little care into their cooking.
