The food was so good. My boyfriend and I went and got the combo for 2 with rice and salad. You get so much food for two people, the combo could definitely be for 3. We ended up taking the rice and chicken to go. The price justifies the food 100%. Will definetly be back

Very surprised in a good way!! From outside in also the inside it doesn’t look like a very fancy place, but the service and the food was exceptional!! We’re dining very often in restaurants and have been in many around the world. This is one of my favorite places to go now if I’m around Birmingham. Really nothing to complain, food was perfect, service the same, prices are very fair. Just the ambience could be bit better but that’s not why we go to a restaurant 😊. It’s about good food

I am self-proclaimed specialist in cuisine from this part of the world - I am not your BBQ boy, burger guy, or pizza man. I do know quality Arab cuisine and Mandi Oasis knows how to run the play. We started off with a lamb broth that was accompanied by a tomato and pepper salsa-like dip to be mixed into the broth. I had a breakfast dish with beans, onions, and peppers. The rice was both savory and had a hint of sweetness, I would say nutmeg. My dad had the pompano served bone-in. Everything was flavored to the T. Katie made great recommendations and answered all of my questions. I will be returning asap. If you're looking for authenticity and food that is generally healthier than American food - Mandi has you covered. Bonus: The mint tea was great, slightly sweet, not overpowering.

What a delightful experience! The service and food is amazing, and we can’t wait to take our friends and family! Our recommendation is the Fahsah with shredded lamb and served in a hot clay bowl - with amazing hot pita on the side! And the Lamb Mandi was very moist and enjoyable also :)

Authentic and wonderful Yemeni food with generous portion sizes in Birmingham. This was our second time and we ordered the Meat Segher, lamb Fahsa and foul this time. If you like a little spice or a little more flavor, Make sure you ask for the oushar ( green and red pickle) green was my personal favorite. The bread was delicious and hearty. Service was great, and our waiter was very kind and sweet. Even gave us chai as we left.

Our meal at Mandi Oasis was a wonderful experience. We were served bowls of lamb broth as soon as we were seated. Our table of four ordered the Yemeni Combo for 2 plus one order of lamb kebab. The portions were so generous that we had enough leftover for another meal for all of us. The Chicken Mandi was deliciously falling off the bone. The Haneeth was tender and complex. Both were nestled on a bed of basmati rice that was flavorful enough to be a meal in itself. But the highlight of the meal was the Lamb Fahsah. It came to the table bubbling audibly in a beautiful clay pot and was accompanied by a giant grilled pita. The flavor and texture of the shredded lamb lived up to its beautiful presentation. We scooped up the leftover gravy with pita because it was too good to go to waste. A large part of what made this meal so special was our server, Katie. She was attentive without being intrusive. She took care to space out the arrival of different dishes so that we could enjoy and appreciate each one. She offered advice and gave us condiments that she thought enhanced the dishes. At the end of the meal she brought us samples of a slushy fruity drink that she was developing to get our feedback. I hope it becomes a regular part of the menu. I am looking forward to trying everything on the menu!

This cool new Yemeni restaurant is very welcome in Birmingham. The menu is filled with warm comfort food choices that have the feel of home cooking no matter your ethnicity. I split the 2 person platter with a friend, and it was a huge amount of food (easily food for 3). It highlighted multiple menu specials including lamb broth soup, salad, fahsah (truly the highlight!!), lamb Mandi, and chicken haneeth. The atmosphere is low key casual with some nice middle eastern lighting decorating the walls. Give yourself a tasty treat and try out this great new restaurant. Highly recommended!

The food was absolutely delicious. The service was impressively fast and efficient, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. Good food! Superb waitress! The parking lot was empty on a Friday night during dinner time which made us skeptical but we decided to try this place out. The service was exceptional! The meal for 2 was enough to feed 4! I am obsessed with the fahsa! My only complaint is that the chicken and lamb were beyond dry, making it hard to enjoy.

Food is expensive!. Lamb was nice and soft. Rice was dry and tasteless.

The fahsah was really yummy! The Mandi lacked in flavor. I’ve had way better Mandi in other Yemeni restaurants in the US. This one was sadly disappointing. We ordered chicken haneeth and they brought us a Mandi. When we pointed out that the 2 dishes are the same, the server said no they are different :/ when we went up to her and told her again that it’s the same dish not different she still continued to say they were different. Finally the cook came out and apologized when my husband got really upset at her lying to us. The server is probably not used to working in restaurants because she had a grumpy attitude to begin with and did not bring us any plates, utensils or napkins. It was quite laughable that they brought napkins and utensils out AFTER we had finished most of our lamb stew. 😂 The place was probably an old Mexican restaurant that they redid. It needs some remodeling done. The atmosphere lacked a lot in creating a nice ambience. Overall good stew - pick up order only - don’t wait to be served - the service and the Mandi will disappoint you.

Paid 19 dollars for this thinking it would come with more shrimp. Only had 5 pieces of shrimp. That’s ridiculous. They weren’t like big shrimps either. This is ridiculous. Wished i had looked before getting home. Would have returned it if i hadn’t driven 30 mins to get there. Never going again

Guys, I paid $13 per plate, plus a $5 tip, totaling $31.00 for these portions. This can’t be right. I ended up having to get more food to break my fast. And for those that don’t know this is called fattah it’s simply bread and dates! YES BREAD AND DATES!

We came really excited to try the Chicken Mandi and Shish Tawook, but the whole experience was a letdown. We asked the waitress if the half Chicken Mandi was enough for two people, and instead of giving us an honest answer she immediately pushed us to buy the $28 whole chicken. When it arrived, the half was clearly big enough to share — it felt like an unnecessary upsell. The Shish Tawook was the biggest disappointment. For $17, we expected two skewers. Instead, we got five small, dry pieces of chicken on a huge bed of rice. The issue is that nowhere on the menu does it say this dish comes with rice, and the waitress never mentioned it, even though we told her we specifically wanted the Chicken Mandi because of the rice. We just didn’t know the Shish Tawook also came with rice — and it was the exact same rice as the Mandi. Had we known, we wouldn’t have spent almost $40 on two nearly identical plates. The Chicken Mandi itself was just okay — decent size but bland, and honestly I’ve had better rotisserie-style chicken elsewhere. Overall, between the upselling, the lack of menu clarity, the dry tiny portion of Shish Tawook, and both dishes coming with the same rice, the whole experience felt misleading and overpriced. We left disappointed and won’t be coming back.
