This restaurant tucked away in the lovely city of Birmingham Alabama will be one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the entire state! Great prices. Great food. You really cannot afford to miss out on this great food. The best thing about the restaurant (aside for the alcohol) was the wide variety of main dishes and desserts. They have a whole counter dedicated to ice cream and another for cakes. They have everything you could ask for except for a tres leches cake. Anyone that gave this place a negative review just harbor hate in their hearts. This place should be packed in every day it’s that good! Please don’t miss out on dining here if you’re in town.

This place is some kind of fantastic secret in the area that seems to spread by word of mouth. The tacos are so delicious, you’ll drool a little bit while eating them. The salsa has a good kick, and the price is surprisingly affordable. Also, they have a salsa/condiment bar to modify your tacos how you like.

Awesome food. Had the street chicken burrito. Will be back to try more dishes. The salsa was “VERY GOOD “. My server was very polite and friendly. Worth your stop to eat for sure So I have been back several times now. I’ll keep adding dishes I’ve tried. So far they have been top shelf for food and service.

Stop right now and get some really good Mexican food! You need to try this if you’re looking for the real deal. The staff was really friendly and the service was fast. They had so many options to choose from. I’ll be back here for sure. I can’t wait to try some other foods. I had a shrimp quesadilla but I devoured it before I could get pictures. They also have light and crispy tortilla chips like I like. Not the hard ones. And the pricing is really good. They haven’t gouged up their prices like a lot of other restaurants. Ask for Rene if you want really good service.

I loved the food at Don Tacho. They have large menu of authentic Mexican food to choose from and all the options sounds very tasty. I wanted to try the basic tacos first to get an idea and they did not disappoint. The taco bar they have helps you customize your tacos the way you want. The Quesadilla was great and recommended. I loved their ice cream and fruit bars options if you’re looking for a dessert after a heavy meal. Give them a try!

Food was ok. I'm not a fan of onions and peppers as fillers or should I say substitutes for the meat you supposedly pay for. If you a vegetarian this place is for you.

I ate here because I was in the area and read the good reviews. Honestly, the food wasn't nasty and it wasn't as good as the reviews. I guess it all depends where you have ate good food at in the past. I mean don't be scared to try it because it might actually be the best in that area so reviews are truly honest.

Cold Leftovers

Tried the chicken tacos expecting what I’m used to when it comes to authentic street tacos. The chicken had a good seasoning, but it wasn’t enough seasoning considering how chunky the chicken pieces were. The tortilla also lacked that corn flavor. Was also expecting radishes and cucumbers, but na there weren’t any. I’d suggest cutting the chicken into smaller pieces so there’s more seasoning covering more chicken. They also put the onions and cilantro in a separate bag which was different too. Not a bad idea, but I wish there was more cilantro.

It’s surprising that one of the employees (a bald man, I’m not sure if he’s a manager or just a worker) was standing there doing absolutely nothing while customers were waiting to be helped. When someone comes in to ask for something, the least you can expect is to be assisted or at least acknowledged. Instead, he just stood there like a statue and pointed to other employees to handle it, even though the items were right next to him. It gives a very poor impression of the service and the organization of the place. If someone works in a customer-facing role, the least they can do is show willingness to help customers.

I am a regular customer at this establishment and I been ordering the same thing for months now, this particular day idk if they were overwhelmed but they treated me very rudely. I waited 20 mins for nachos and as I walked back in to pick up my food they still did not have my food ready and went as far as to say they gave me my food and I am stealing from them even checking the cameras on there phones. And yes I am a black female so I was immediately offended because i am a regular customer! They offered to remake my food but was unapologetic about it and when I got my food it looked nowhere near how it usually looks and when I asked for a side of quest because it was barely any on there and to make up for their mistake they got mad. I WILL BE TAKING MY BUSINESS ELSEWHERE FROM NOW ON.

As a person of color I did not feel very welcomed here. Unfortunately I won’t be coming back. I noticed the man at the desk was more passive aggressive towards me even though I couldn’t understand anything he said (Spanish). I can still feel the energy, but it was only towards me. Mind you I’m one of the most friendliest people you can ever meet. Maybe he was having a bad day? Idk! I won’t be coming back and for my sisters and brothers be aware. They may not value our dollars here! -thanks, peace
