From start to finish, this was absolutely perfect. I highly recommend making a reservation, but the food and drinks are incredible. Could not have been happier here. The staff is so kind and very welcoming to dogs. Laura is so kind and very attentive. Just absolutely the sweetest. We cannot wait to come back!
Amazing Italian food. The mussels in the pasta were very fresh and delicious. The staff are delightful and kind. The atmosphere is quiet, warm and pleasant. I love this place, 10/10
We go to Idyllwild monthly to meet friends for a late lunch at Ferro, always our favorite! I have enjoyed several items from the menu, especially Tiramisu!! (We are often so eager to eat, we forget to take food pics, but yesterday I did remember to snap my delicious spaghetti & meatballs.) I also took a pic of some interesting cocktails to show my son, who is a bartender.
Wonderful cocktails. Everything from the olives and breadstick starter to the antipasti, the primi, secondi, the sides were all fabulous. The one thing that wasn’t up to the standard of the rest was the bread accompanying the clams in wine, but that was the only slight disappointment since everything else was spectacularly good!m I had the clams in wine to start, followed by the sausage with peppers (fantastic) and then the mortadella and pistachio pizzq.
Went there Feb 28th with my girlfriend , it was absolutely amazing for our date night. We usually choose to stay in and cook on our date nights but I'm glad we chose to splurge and make the hour drive to ferro. The atmosphere is as good as the food. We will 100% come back eventually. The only issue we had, was such a small issue but the waitress forgot to refill my water twice but other than that she was great.
This place is absolutely amazing and delicious from the owner to the cooks to the staff. Everything is on point!!! We made reservations for my bday and they made sure everything was perfect. Everything taste homemade and fresh very authentic and even surprised me with a candle in my dessert 🥹 Looking forward to come here again and definitely recommend this spot!🔥🔥🔥
Ferro was a wonderful place to spend my husband’s birthday. They start off the meal with some breadsticks and olives. The menu is varied and has something for everyone. I ordered the vegetable risotto and it was delicious. My husband got the salmon and said it was one of the best salmon dishes he’s ever had. They offered us a dessert of his choice for his birthday and even gave him a card. The chef came out and greeted every table warmly. Great food and thoughtful gestures make this a place we will come back to.
my babe and I came in last night from out of town and had a great time. the verde salad was a little over-dressed to us, and everything else was was *delicious*. from the host (shoutout to Pokémon tattoo) to our server (Addison!) we had really friendly and helpful service, and our date night was so enjoyable. we ended up on an upstairs balcony with a fire pit in the table (💅🏻) & enjoyed the prosecco, chianti and *decaf* espresso martini we ordered. and we finished with tirimisu, wonderfully not too sweet. the goat cheese pizza was 🔥🔥🔥 can't wait to come back to Idyllwild & eat here again
Went here for my 10 year anniversary. This was the best dining experience I've had in a long time. The customer service was beyond expectations. I wish I had gotten the name of our waitress, a blond woman. She is a gem. I hope this restaurant understands what an asset they have with her. The food was also very good as was the atmosphere. Can't wait to come back. Thank you.
A total gem from food quality, charming atmosphere to attentive service, this place aims to please...and hits the mark! Our group of 8, all friends and residents of Rancho Mirage, visited this Sunday evening and everyone enjoyed our cozy patio meal. The menu offers a broad spectrum of offerings. I chose the linguini with clams and mussels, while my husband had the pork chop with savory apple compote, polenta and brocholini. Both were delicious ending with clean plates!
An amazing night. Wine and pizza, you can’t go wrong. Through the first week of September live music on the weekends. Band last night was great. Love the intimate setting! Only dropped a star because it was a bit too salty for me. So if you are salt sensitive, you may want to say something to your server.
We came to Idywild to visit this restaurant again. It did not disappoint and we were happy to see the quality hasn’t changed since we were here 10 years ago. We had the Italian sausage pizza, Caesar salad, spring spaghetti, and zuppe de pesce. Dessert was the Carmel bread pudding, it did not come out hot. The weakest was the zuppe and the best was the pizza. I also liked the sparkling rose a lot! We enjoyed the atmosphere and loved sitting out on the back patio. It was Memorial Day weekend and it wasn’t crazy busy, but hopping. Book a reservation even if you want to sit at the bar. There were a lot of dogs and kids and everyone seemed happy. Thank you for a lovely evening. See you again!
This was a lovely little restaurant that’s tucked into the downtown area of Idyllwild, CA. They had a nice Italian menu with a ton of different options to choose from for any person. We decided to order off their happy hour menu which was very reasonably priced and had a nice variety. While I did enjoy the location and food, there was some opportunity with some of the dishes for some deepening with their flavor profiles. Also I didn’t love where we sat on the patio because our view felt minimal and closed in. All in all this is still a great restaurant and I definitely recommend that you try it out if you are in the area.
Food, drinks, service, atmosphere—everything was amazing! A must-visit in Idyllwild. I had heard great things about their pizza, and since they were conveniently open late and located right next to where I was staying (Silver Pines Village), I decided to give it a try. This place went above and beyond my expectations! Would love to come back again!
Excellent service from the host, the waitstaff and our server! Ambiance of the back patio was excellent with heaters to break the chill of the evening. Even saw a chef come out to pick fresh rosemary! The amuse-bouche of breadsticks with herb butter and olives were delicious. We had a pepperoni & mushroom pizza and the Coniglio alla Cacciatore which were both excellent! The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was the tiramisu which was one of the reasons for selecting this restaurant as it is my favorite dessert. Not sure if the picture shows it well, but the layers were uneven resulting in bites that did not consist of all three elements. Maybe I received a bad slice but this is a relatively simple dessert to construct and given the quality of service, premium ingredients and beautiful presentation this restaurant clearly prides itself in (and deserves) this piece fell a bit short of expectations. Each layer was delicious, but I could only get a few bites that combined all three. I would absolutely return, but just might try a different dolci.
A new favorite in Idyllwild! I made reservations for us earlier in the day for dinner & when we showed up we asked if it was possible to sit outside. We were seated in our own little gazebo/canopy tent. I was really craving pasta so l ordered the spaghetti e polpette and my fiancé got the pollo arrosto. His meal was so big, I didn't expect it to be an entire chicken. The flavors on it were so good and he was so happy with it. For my spaghetti, the meatballs were good and melted in your mouth. The only complaint I have is my noodles tasted a bit overcooked but I still enjoyed it. For dessert I really wanted to try their tiramisu, it was so yummy! I'm honestly a sucker for a good dessert. Throughout our entire meal we were constantly checked on, waters refilled and asked if we were enjoying our food. Everyone was so kind and provided excellent service. We will definitely be back!
Beautiful quaint restaurant. Server was awesome and accommodating. Unfortunately, the pasta was VERY undercooked and the vegetables as well were hard. If you go here and order pasta, make sure to request them to cook it longer.
We weren’t particularly impressed with this place. We went for my partner’s birthday, and they actually called in advance to ask for his name—which made us think they had something small planned. But when we were there, nothing happened…they probably shouldn’t have called if there was no intention to acknowledge it. On the plus side, the service was great—our server was really kind and attentive. However, my salad had some noticeably wilted lettuce, which wasn’t ideal. My boyfriend enjoyed his pizza, so if you do go, that might be your best bet (he gave it an 9/10). They also give you a complimentary olives and breadstick appetizer which was cool. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this spot if you only have one dinner in Idyllwild.
Ordered takeout and was told it would be ready in 30 minutes. Ended up waiting almost an hour in the restaurant. The pizzas were cold (even though it’s only a 3-minute walk home), the fish was swimming in oil like canned sardines, and the seafood soup was inedible — it contained what seemed like 3-4 entire heads of garlic. Every spoonful brought up at least 3 large cloves (see photo). Paid $140 for two pizzas, seafood soup, fish dish, and two appetizers. Very disappointing — not worth the wait or the money.
