this establishment is rarely ever open, but i like the aesthetic, the one time i was able to get donuts, i was genuinely suprised by how good they were.

Great donuts here. He does work his own hrs though so not always open during his "normal" business hrs but great donuts!

Yes, they have irratic hours, no tables, no bathroom and yes the friendly brother is the one who died but there is a reason people have stood in line for fifty years for a chance to buy even one doughnut.

It's beyond awesome to have the ability to see my great-grandfather's donuts shop still open and be able to visit it on Google earth. Hope to stop in soon :)

I've been at IB for 3 years and it's the first time that I've seen this place open so I had to try. I got the cinnamon roll and I liked it. I'll go back and try their donuts next time I see them open.

Amazing! The chocolate glazed donuts are my favorite! Some reviews say this man is rude, but I disagree. He’s such a sweet old man who likes to make sweet things. Very fair priced too!

My wife and children love donuts from here! I had to wake up early and get in line to just get any before he sales out for the day. Make sure to bring cash in hand since he doesn't take cards.

Stardust is an Imperial Beach staple! We have been going here since I was a little girl, it’s always a special treat to this day when we get to have some stardust! The cinnamon rolls are my favorite!

I went there but as usual they were closed, but when they are open oh, their donuts of course are awesome, their cinnamon rolls super good. So I will give them five stars for that I just wish they were open on a regular.

I have been getting (eating) doughnuts from Star Dust since I was old enough to eat solid foods and I will be a return customer until they decide to retire. I always recommend this place to friends and family from out of town when they come down for a visit. The old fashioned and the cinnamon rolls are always my go to, but everything they make is absolute delicious perfection.

And that happy ending is, I was driving to work and was SUPER EXCITED when I saw the sign said OPEN! I pulled up... ordered a maple bar, cinnamon roll, and classic glazed... and was sold after a bite of each! I saved them and took them home for my boyfriend to try like a sacred prize and he thought they were great, even after sitting around all day. Funny enough, we ran into the shop being open 2-3 times after this, and we got fresh donuts a few times, and they were always great. The baker/ owner is quirky and seems a little angry, but he reminded me of my Dad, so I knew he probably was a happy guy underneath. If not, he was still cool, and makes some awesome donuts. If you see the OPEN sign up, be sure to swing by!

The donuts are small and tasty. I do taste the salty lard in them and it's delicious. I like the salty, sweet flavor. Do not come here expecting service with a smile, lol.

The man behind the counter did not have a mask on and there is currently a mask mandate. He picked at his beard and I watched him flick a hair on the floor, then when he was bagging the donuts, the same thumb that wiped his beard also touched every donut.

Tried to buy a donut here this morning, went to pay with $20 and was told that I couldn't only purchase a single donut with that amount, I said I guess I will be purchasing nothing then and left. Sad when businesses make it difficult for you to give them money, especially since it looked like a local family business.

I love donuts but the guy who owns it is very rude I told him oh ur open he goes yeah can't u ready god damn sign n my kids were right next to me I was almost not gonna buy any donuts but my kids n at that he over charge me $5 for 3 doubts. plus he opens late n closes early make no since plus he don't have a variety of doughnuts to choose from and that he's not always open like he says he is I rather go to Yum Yum Donuts any day..
