We stopped here during a long layover looking for a quick but comforting meal, and this place was perfect. The biryani was absolutely delicious—flavorful, aromatic, and freshly prepared. The ambience was pleasant and relaxing, which made the short break from travel even more enjoyable. Service was quick, making it ideal for travelers on a tight schedule. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a satisfying meal during a layover.
We ordered samosas and were served freshly made, hot ones, which was a pleasant surprise. At many places, samosas are usually prepared in the morning and reheated later, but here they were made fresh and fried on the spot. They were absolutely delicious—crispy on the outside and flavorful inside. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for fresh and tasty snacks.
We had Vijayawada Chicken Biryani and Karivepaku Chicken. Both were very tasty 😋 Biryani was spicy and full of flavor, chala bagundi. Chicken was well cooked and masala taste was perfect. Karivepaku Chicken was really good, curry leaves flavor super ga unde. Overall food quality was great, malli malli ravali anipinchindi. Highly recommended!
Visited Bawarchi in Irving, TX from NY. The staff was super friendly, and the food came out fast without sacrificing quality. Ordered the Paneer Tikka (dry), Samosas with jalapeño and cheese, Chicken Lollipop, and Gobi Manchurian. Every single dish was packed with great flavor. You can really tell they care about seasoning and balance. Make sure you know your spice level when ordering. Everything was fresh, well-prepared, and incredibly satisfying. If you’re looking for bold flavors and warm hospitality in Irving, TX, this place is a must-visit!
this place is awesome! they’re attentive, knowledgeable, and the food is SO GOOD! portions are huge (which we always love) and it’s not super expensive. we’ve never had indian food before but we loved it so much that we already have plans to come back. it’s rich in flavor and every plate is so distinct from the others. LOVED it!
We recently went to Bawarchi with friends for lunch, and we had a great experience overall. As a group, we ordered: 1 Chicken Dum Biryani, 1 Boneless Goat Biryani, 1 Chicken Mughlai (comes with naan - we upgraded to garlic naan for an extra cost), 1 Methi Chaman (comes with naan - upgraded to garlic naan for an extra cost), 1 Chilly Fish, 1 Butter Naan. We asked for everything to be spicy except the chilly fish. The food was excellent - flavorful, well-prepared, and the spice levels were spot-on. Portion sizes were generous, and every dish tasted fresh. Both biryanis were aromatic and satisfying, the curries were rich and well-balanced, and the garlic naans were definitely worth upgrading. The chilly fish was also good even without the extra spice. When we arrived, the restaurant was almost empty, although there was a steady flow of customers picking up carryout orders, which is always a positive sign. The only downside was the slow service. We placed our order with one server and waited, but after some time another server came by and casually asked how the food was. We were surprised and had to tell them we were still waiting for our meal, even though the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. Despite the great food, the delay in service was noticeable. Overall, Bawarchi didn’t disappoint in terms of food quality, and we would still recommend it to others. A little improvement in service speed would make the experience even better.
Glad I stopped by for a late lunch! We got the fish masala and shahi paneer. I usually get chicken tikka masala but wanted to try something different and with fish. Fish masala was recommended by the server and it was the slight different I wanted! My friend’s dish was also very good. This was a great place to catch up with friends and food was excellent.
The dosa and chutneys were really good—crispy, fresh, and full of flavor. The chicken tikka kebab was decent, nothing extraordinary but not bad either. However, the mutton fry was a bit disappointing; it lacked the depth of flavor I was expecting. Overall, a mixed experience, but the dosa and chutneys definitely stood out. Service is also good
I ordered Vijayawada Biryani and Chicken Dum Biryani from Bawarchi Indian Cuisine. The Vijayawada Biryani was really good flavorful, spicy, and well-cooked, just the way it should be. However, the Chicken Dum Biryani tasted a bit different due to excess pudina (mint) and heavy masala, which slightly overpowered the traditional dum flavor. It was okay okay, but not what I usually expect from dum biryani. Overall, Vijayawada biryani is definitely recommended, while the dum biryani could be improved by balancing the flavors better.
I got takeout from here because I was in the area, and I’m always looking to try new Indian spots. Unfortunately, we did not have the best experience here. First, I used the online ordering on their website - I parked in front of the restaurant and refreshed the website to see if it was ready. The website showed that the food was not ready but I went inside to check anyway. It turns out that the food was indeed ready and it was just sitting there. I would advise the staff to actually update the order status on their website, or just get rid of that function on the website so customers know to go inside to check. It was a late lunch, but the restaurant was empty and most of the lights were off so I initially thought it wasn’t even open. I had also ordered a drink (badam milk), but I was not given that, so I let the lady who gave me my food know I also ordered a drink. She initially did not believe me so I looked up the receipt with the payment as well, and there it was. She told me “it’s not on the paper receipt but I’ll give it to you anyway” - I would certainly hope so, considering I paid for it. I don’t know why it wasn’t on the paper receipt on the bag, but I definitely ordered it and paid for it, and the “receipt” that was on the bag did not have any amount total or prices at all. As for the food, the biryani was really salty to the point where we just didn’t eat it. My lamb chettinadu was okay, but I’ve had better. The garlic naan was kinda hard, not chewy, and not very good. I was so excited when I saw the badam milk on the menu, because it’s something I’m always looking for when I get Indian food, and something that not all restaurants have. Unfortunately, it was severely sour and not sweet at all. I wondered (still wonder) if the lady didn’t even give me badam milk at all and instead gave me something else. I was really excited to try this food, but unfortunately both the food and the service were disappointing.
Tried the panipuri and samosa chaat, shown in the attached photo. Unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfying. The panipuri was served with refrigerated cold pani, which detracted from the traditional flavor and enjoyment. Similarly, the samosa chaat was also served cold and lacked the warmth and taste expected from this dish. The overall taste was disappointing, failing to deliver the rich, spicy flavors typically associated with these street food favorites. To make matters worse, the handling of guest complaints was pathetic, particularly by a lady server who failed to address the issues effectively. I hope the restaurant addresses these issues, including temperature control, flavor enhancement, and staff training, to improve the quality for future customers.
Weekend Biryani Run at Bawarchi, Dallas 🍽️ I was in Dallas just for the weekend, and my friends were seriously craving some authentic Hyderabadi biryani. We’d heard a lot about Bawarchi, so we decided to give it a shot for a late lunch around 4:30 PM. The ambience was nice — clean, comfortable, and had that familiar vibe of South Indian restaurants back home. Now to the food: Karvepaku Vepudu – Just okay. Nothing wow about it, probably wouldn’t order again. 3/5 Gongura Chicken Biryani – Honestly, it tasted like they just mixed gongura pickle into rice. Didn’t feel like a well-cooked biryani at all. 2/5 Hyderabadi Dum Biryani – This one hit the spot! It had that classic flavor and aroma. 4/5 Vijayawada Boneless Pulav – Hands down the best dish we had! Super flavorful and clearly freshly made — we waited 45 mins, but it was worth every second. Now, on the flip side — the service really pulled down the experience. Our server (a lady) was pretty rude and unapproachable. I get that we came in during an off time, and they might’ve been low on dishes, but there’s a nicer way to communicate that. The way she responded to us felt very dismissive and cold. It wasn’t even rush hour. We asked if the spice level could be adjusted a bit, and she literally said, “You should have it however the chef makes it.” — in the most blunt way possible. I’m all for chef specials, but the tone matters, right? Another thing we all noticed: we felt super thirsty the entire evening after eating there. Maybe too much salt or something in the food — not sure, but it was unusual. Final take? Would I go back? Probably not. Would I recommend it? If you’re really craving Hyderabadi dum biryani, give it a try — it’s good. But don’t expect great service or flexibility.
We are extremely disappointed with Bawarchis this time. We have been their regular customers since last 1 year. we eat their Egg Masala all the time. We placed an order on Uber Eats and received the Egg Masala which was absolutely bland and tasteless. The curry lacked seasonings and flavour. We immediately called the restaurant back and asked them if they could change it for us. they asked us to get the curry back and they would replace it for us. We came by the next day(today) and he completely flipped . Infact he ( bhavya was his name if i’m not wrong) said i can’t do anything about you not liking the curry. It was absolutely ridiculous on his part to have us come back with the curry. He could have just told us on the phone that he won’t be able to do anything about it and we wouldn’t have driven 20 mins to go there. They have no value for their regular customers who have been giving them business for last whole year. This was the end of Bawarchis for us. Absolutely the worst customer service ever.
We ordered a ulavacharu goat biryani and it tasted like tamarind biryani. Restaurant wasn’t even busy but no one bothers to check on what customer wants. We waited for 10 mins to get check. No staff here makes eye contact for us to ask for something. One of the waitress didn’t even let us finish our question, she partially answered our question and rushed away even before we could ask a follow up question. Overall, i wish I could give zero star for customer service and negative star for food.
I ordered the chicken lollipops here and the taste was extremely disappointing — they were bland and not fresh at all. When I tried to raise the issue, the staff member was very rude and unprofessional, which made the experience even worse. Definitely not the kind of service or food quality I expected. Hope they improve both their food standards and customer service.
I was really looking forward to trying this dish, but it was a complete letdown. The pieces were dry, hard, and over-fried — almost burnt on the outside and tough to chew. The flavor was overly spicy but not in a balanced or enjoyable way, just greasy and bitter. The oil seemed old, and the texture was unpleasant. The peppers and seasoning couldn’t save it either. Overall, it tasted stale and poorly prepared. Definitely not worth the price or the hype.
The food here is good but I won’t be returning because they gave me mostly onions & pepper with barely any chicken in the tikka masala. Im disappointed however they charge $20 with little amount of protein… typical business. Food is great for the 1 time experience. I took a photo of the veggies which outnumbered the chicken I ate. This isn’t even half of the veggies cus I ate most of them … still a great amount
