This place has an incredible Philly roll. It’s my favorite place to get one, and the staff is amazing, they make it feel really homey. If you get one of the special rolls they give you free miso with it, which is the first time I’ve ever experienced that.

Love the Kalbi! Tofu beef soup is fine.

This is my FAVORITE sushi restaurant and I am a picky eater but Sushiya is the BEST. Ive been here so many times and I promise you the quality is better than any expensive nice ambience sushi restaurant in downtown SB and all inexpensive ones combined. Sushiya is the best and the workers are always so kind and always smiling. I love visiting sushiya for my sushi fix, the quality is consistent and it hits every time. I always get their dragon roll, Alaska roll, and spicy baked salmon roll, all so delicious I can never decide my favorite. The rolls are BIG, portions are generous and it comes with free miso soup which is really yummy too! Thank you Sushiya for the amazing food, kind service, and good vibes.

I just keep coming back every chance i get to make the 5hr drive. Delicious! I've had several of the menu items and have enjoyed all of them, thou, for me the sushiya is my favorite roll (i do ask for slices of lemon to be added on top thou 😁, i get spiiled 😍). On a side note, the place is kept clean, i added a panoramic photo of the restaurant and the restroom. Both are pleasing.

The absolute best sushi and service you could ask for! The owners are incredibly friendly and all the dishes are a great size and incredibly tasty, they definitely use top quality ingredients. This is the go to place if you are in the area.

We love Sushiya!! We usually go there after a big family beach day. The family that runs it is so sweet and the sushi is AMAZING. If you have not tried the BSCR roll yet its so good : )

Went to Sushiya in July while moving my daughter to near Santa Barbara area. The food was amazing and so tasty that we basically left the plates clean. But to our surprise when the owner found out my daughter was moving there by herself she offered her cell number in case she ever needed any help or have questions about anything. This was such a heartwarming gesture that we felt so grateful. Warm hearted owner with compassion for others no wonder the food tasted so good.

We decided to take a chance on Sushiya Express, largely because they were open when we needed them to be (so many other spots don't open until 5 PM), and we were beyond surprised by how incredible it was. The service was outstanding and showcased a level of politeness that is hard to find these days—I asked for something and it was handed to me with both hands, which is such a lost sign of respect. The food matched the service. The miso soup was rich and flavorful. I ordered the Chirashi and it was excellent. The sushi rice was seasoned with furikake and very flavorful, and I ordered a side of sliced jalapeños that did not disappoint with the level of spice it had. The salmon, in particular, was outstanding; fresh and delicious. We are already planning to eat here again the next time we are in Santa Barbara. Highly recommend!

Ordered the shoyu ramen with a side of gyoza (total was $30). Spending $30 for a bowl of ramen and an appetizer, I was expecting a lot more than what I got… Ramen was pretty bland and gyoza, although not bad, did not justify the price. The lady helping me out also didn’t know much. I asked if any meat came with the ramen, and she said no. I then pointed out one of their own pictures showing meat coming with it, and she then corrected herself. The astounding part was the fact that they served shin ramen for $10… I asked her about it, and this happens to be the same exact packaged ramen that you can buy and make yourself for 50 cents a packet. If you are going to charge this much for food, you can make it better quality! I recommend to skip this place entirely and head to Nikka ramen in goleta downtown—you will not regret it!

The place seems to offer different Asian dishes but none of them being good enough. Quality of food: 3/10 Atmosphere: 4/10 Recommend(?) No Price: $$
