Surprisingly good! These photos are from two visits in the same month, yes I've been willing to try their variety of menus. The first visit was great – I had chocolate milk (so so so good, not too sweet!), fried chicken steak and my friend got the coffee-rubbed steak. All food was good and the sliced potatoes (not sure if this is how I could describe them) were the superstar of the dish. The sauce on my fried chicken was also great – the creaminess, the savoriness. On my second visit as we sat outside and soaked up ourselves in the sun which I love. I ordered the French Omelette that came with melted cheese and salmon which was undoubtedly so good for a Friday brunch. Will come again to try their good surprises :-p
Staff is friendly and attentive. Missy gave us such great service! Every bite of our brunch was delicious 🤤
Stopped in for a Saturday brunch and I was blown away. The place has a snappy bright atmosphere, and it's very friendly. Lexi was my server and she was able to recommend drinks for me to try. The raspberry mimosa had a perfect taste, and then the food itself was delightful. The thick-cut ham on the eggs benedict was a particular stand-out to me. Very excellent experience and I'll be back soon!
This place quickly became our favorite. From the moment we stepped inside we felt a GREAT atmosphere. Our waiter was incredibly fast and kind and VERY informational. He made sure my friends 3m old had everything he needed for us to enjoy our meal etc. The food was fresh, hot and Delicious 🤤 I am Vegan and it's hard to find places with DELICIOUS come back again vegan food in this area. I was impressed! 🌱Vegan wise I have to recommend the Vegan "Crab" cakes. They were so good that I questioned if they forgot I said Vegan 👀🤤
Very good experience. Great service with an easy going, but well informed server. Calamari spot on, pork buns melted in your mouth, and the cheese rolls were an indulgence. Or was the indulgence the two 4oz filet medallions with the 4oz lobster tail. I'll let you decide. The filet Oscar comes with bernaise sauce, but get the house steak sauce on the side as well for some extra punch.
A really delicious meal at a restaurant with a MIX of multiple cuisines. The service was great and the location had enough room to be socially distanced. For vegan/vegetarians: They had many vegan/vegetarian options which was great. The Black Bean burger was a huge double patty burger and was very filling and delicious
Really great food and service at a reasonable price, without the attitude. Our server Tina was always anticipating our needs. Excellent Amoretto Sour! Loved the unique spin on various meals. We frankly struggle with finding great options in Ithaca, but this one hits all the right notes!
A little pricey but the food is worth it and soooo filling. Had the spiked hot chocolate. It was really good. But beware a little spicy. Had the duck quesadillas for an app. Small but soooo good! Probably was filled me up before the noodle bowl. Also had a noodle bowl. I would give a 10/10 to. Filled up really quickly on it. And the apple salad was also very good. I got to try it, had a sort of Dijon vinaigrette dressing which was lovely. I will most likely be back to try more good food!
All about the experience, right? Perfect. We've lived in the area for over a year, now, and have driven past Mix many times. We decided to try someplace new, and Mix was it. We had read reviews and they were obviously favorable, and today we got to find out why. The ambience, service, and food were all flawless. They have quite a variety of different foods on the menu, from pasta to steak, salads to burgers, seafood, and so much more. Indoor or (during the right season) outdoor dining, take your pick. But make sure you make your reservation in advance... Mix is obviously popular! We can't wait to go back and try something new on their menu. Give it a shot; you'll feel the same!
The food was great and the staff was friendly and fast! We had the duck quesadilla, bao tacos, Brussels sprouts, and skirt steak. Everything came out at temp and tasted great. The presentation was spot on and even the popovers they give you to start were delicious. Definitely give them a try!
Best food I had during my stay in Ithaca. The Brazil bread was a great start. We ordered three dishes and two glasses of cocktails. The calamari was refreshing with the pesto sauce. The fried chicken waffle was very crispy and the sauce was definitely a plus. Finally the Chinese style duck quesadilla reminded me of my hometown breakfast. The cocktails recommended by our server were also very great. Would definitely come visit again if I go to Ithaca.
I had both nice service and food! They have really good cocktail and wine variety, and the free Brazilian cheese bread is also surprising. I highly recommend the Spanish mussels from the appetizers for the savory red sauce and juicy mussels. and Do remember to ask for a dessert tray after the meal!
We had a lovely server named Jessica! She exudes professionalism, knowledgeable and very friendly and welcoming. The food was phenomenal. A unique experience of blend of delicious flavors . The restaurant and its employees abiding by all the social distancing rules, hand sanitizers and cleanliness. The atmosphere is hip and beautiful decorated. You will not be disappointed! Steak Oscar was on point recommended by our wonderful server Jessica! Bon appetite!
2025: Went here again since I was in town. The Bloody Mary is just as good as last time and worth going out of the way for. The food was all solid. The restaurant was super busy, and Google said it was still less busy than they normally were for a Sunday. Overall I didn't think the wait staff or kitchen could keep up with the orders. The table waited for over an hour for food. Allergy: Waitress took my soy allergy seriously, double checking with the chef on every item. My omlet came out with a flag saying 'soy allergy' in it and tasted good with no negative reactions! Waitress recommended omlets or salads for those who are soy free. Most other things have at least cross contamination potential. Note that they're re-branding in 2026 and will have a different menu by then. 2019: It was super busy, and for good reason! The food was great, the drinks were great, and the bartender hilarious. I'd definitely go again, particularly for brunch, as long as I had the time.
A delightful dining experience. Servers and staff were very attentive and polite. Plating and presentation was well done. I did the fixed-price menu and was happy with the variety. The crab dumplings were by far my favorite thing I had, with so many great flavors mixed together. I'd recommend this fusion restaurant!
With company visiting and heading to Cornell Plantation, I checked Trip Advisor for a new dining experience. This was #1. Glad we went. Couldn't decide breakfast or lunch so got a wedge salad which was very good and the small breakfast to try the hash brown casserole (awesome) and the oatmeal. Sister in law got the banana pancake which was large enough for 4 project Brother in law got the Greek omelet with the cute little flag. Husband got the Asian noodle bowl with chicken afraid it would be too spicy but wasn't. THEN husband wanted to see the dessert tray. Can you say 'perfect' for cheesecake. We can all attest to how good it was because we asked for extra forks. The food too a little time to come out but worth the wait.
I went to MIX with three other people on a Sunday morning for brunch. This was recommended to us by a local and did not disappoint! The menu is very large and a little hard to choose from because everything sounds so good. Bottomless mimosas were delicious, and everyone loved their food. I ordered the German Omlette, and my boyfriend ordered the Spicy Hanoi chicken and waffles (both pictured). Would definitely go again next time we're in Ithaca.
Ladies and gentlemen! The hype is real. Amazing food at affordable prices and very friendly staff. Even the bread they give out in the beginning is to die for. They made my mock tail to my liking. All in all I had a wonderful experience and will definitely come here the next time I visit Ithaca. Just one tip: make reservations because the wait time becomes quite long especially on weekends.
What a wonderful dining experience! We started off our meal with the blue corn calamari, duck quesadillas, and the fig. And goat cheese flatbread. These were all really flavorful and the portion size was great for two people. Next we had the Caesar salad. Wow! This is great! Another hit. Then we shared the braised short ribs. So much flavor. We ended our meal with the housemade cheesecake with raspberry sauce. This was the best meal we had while in Ithaca. I highly recommend. Every dish was plated very picturesque and very flavorful. Our waiter, Max, was fantastic! Solid 10.
We were here with a large party after a funeral, while some places get overwhelmed with large groups I am happy to report that MIX had no issues keeping up with us. They were beyond accommodating, every server and staff member was very sweet and the food was SO good and SO fresh.
This restaurant is amazing. We're staying in Ithaca for the summer and in our first week here we visited the restaurant 5 times! The dinners we've had were so delicious and it's so nice that Mix, the chef/owner, comes out to greet every table. I will recommend this place to everyone I know.
We came here the first time we visited Ithaca last year and we knew we had to come back. The food really amazed us. We found MIX when looking for a place that had good vegetarian options for my wife. The menu really has something for everyone and the quality was elevated from what you'd find at a normal casual dining place. The service was great both times too. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in the area.
I have been to MIX for brunch so many times. My goal is to try every omelette they have. So far love the Athens of the South, Khai Jiao [thai style], Un'Omelette [Italian], and Omelette [french]. Each comes with a hash casserole (which is so good!) And an oatmeal (I personally dont like oatmeal made with water, so i dont like it). If you love pancakes, I would def recommend it! I personally love the Mr.Nutty Banana Crunch and the I Double Dare You!
Five VERY solid stars for Mix!! My wife and I are both Ithacaphiles, her family having longstanding history in the area and as Ithaca alumni. We visit the area every year as many opportunities as we can possibly make excuses for. Due to Covid and other obstacles it’s been more than a year and a half since we last visited, and this time while searching for brunch options we noticed a new name on the roster, and Mix did not disappoint!! I ate the outrageously delicious short rib Benedict, served on homemade rustic style cornbread (whole kernels of corn; freakin madness)… my wife had cannoli sourdough French toast, which you can guess just by the title was also a mind blowing indulgence! Atmosphere is immaculate clean with modern-ish art deco decor, plenty of tables and plenty of parking means it’s an excellent option for large groups. Definitely drink several Strawberry Basil Mimosas while you’re there!!
Have you ever had food on vacation that was so good you would change your plans and go back again? The food at Mix stunned us into coming back the very next night! That’s right, two nights in a row! The tapas style dining is deceiving if you are used to tapas portions in cities like NYC or DC. I would say these portions are larger and on par with a traditional fine dining spot. The food competes as well! So the end result is incredible food and incredible value. Our first night we had 4 plates, 2 drinks, and dessert for $74.63 pre-tip. 2nd night was 4 plates, a side item, and two drinks for $81.76 Foodie highlights were the Roasted Butternut Squash Lasagne and the Sea Scallop Sauté served up in a nest of melted Parmesan cheese. The staff was kind and knowledgeable and one of the owners/chefs (Mix) came out to speak with us the first night. The reateraunt is run by a husband and wife team who do the cooking as well. I would normally rate this a 4 overall because of the odd ambiance and decor of the place, but the food was so good they deserve a 5. I’d rather have great food and a poor ambiance than great ambiance and poor food!
Went there for a Brunch on a Saturday. Ordered Shrimp and Grits, Salmon Eggs Benedict, and Oatmeal with Strawberries on top. Everything was DELICIOUS. My friend and I enjoyed the ambiance inside and out. The Wait staff were friendly and the food was ready at a decent time. Coffee was great too. A great place to go to . The selections on the menu were phenomenal. Went there again for Dinner a few months later . I am so addicted to this place now. Orderd lamb ribs, shrimp toast, soul mac n cheese, baked hashbrowns, steak skewers and pork . Kids 17-11 loved the food. Had a nice carmel apple martini and kids had Shirley Temples. Everything was soooo good. Service was excellent, friendly and fast.
Another great meal. Mushroom ravioli with a light sauce - texture just right for pasta and filling had marvelous mushroom filling. The fish and chips - hot and crispy. Great flaky fish. The nightly special surf and turf with shrimp was served with asparagus and zucchini. Beef done to perfection, shrimp tender. Vegetables were done perfect. The beef pho soup with Chinese cabbage, baby bok choy and rice noodle bowl was delicious. Broth was beefy but did not overpower the vegetables and shredded beef tender as well as tasty. Dessert choice of tiramisu cheesecake. If you like cheesecake and tiramisu this combination is heavenly. Mocktail drinks were wonderful. Pear and rosemary with club soda and nojito with lime, mint and club soda. Crisp and refreshing. Waiter was attentive and orders came out fast. Popovers and dipping sauce are sent to all tables and WOW what a great combination. Enjoyed every bite.
Incredible food. Took a party of ten and all agreed that this was one of the best meals they had had in a long time. Our server was wonderful, although the time to get the food was a little lengthy (however this is very likely due to the large party size). Everything from the appetizers to the desserts were absolutely delicious.
I've been here several times over the past few years and it never fails to exceed expectations. The food always comes out cooked to perfection and tastes even better. Whether you dine from the menu or the specials, you can't go wrong. Portion sizes are very generous. Even the side salad, if you get one, is big. I highly recommend giving The Mix a try.
Oh MIX brunch how I love you ❤️ the service is always excellent - our server this time was Missy, and she was really fantastic. The food is SO good - brunch is the standout. Highly recommend any of their French toasts (they use sourdough for them and it is just SO good without being overly sweet). My husband likes the chicken and waffles as well (their macadamia nut butter is to die for), but his favorite is the bacon and cheddar egg sandwich they sometimes have as a special. Truly the best breakfast sandwich on earth. Hoping brunch stays mostly the same when they change over to the new Hawaiian concept!
This is such a great place to eat. They have a variety of menu options to try and I’ve never been disappointed. On this visit, we had breakfast/brunch. I had the Sriracha buttermilk fried chicken and waffles, which were fantastic! The chicken is dark meat (thighs) which have way more flavor. There was enough for me to take home and have the next day. Mom ordered the “City by the Bay” omelette which comes with crab, it was delicious. It also cane with oatmeal and an english muffin, or possibly a choice of toast and she chose this. Very tasty!
Everyone enjoyed the food. No wait on a Sunday morning for breakfast. Service was a little slow to start but we had people meeting us so that wasn't a problem. Once the server came he checked back frequently and everything was fine. Pancake was bigger than the plate! Canolli french toast was awesome. Portions are huge! Great find!
A tremendous dining experience. The French Onion Soup Dumplings were wonderfully delicious. Our entrees were superb, Filet Mignon & a Short Rib Stir Fry, as well as my specialty cocktail, The Nutty Professor. Our server Tina was charming & helpful, the hostess Kayla was very friendly & welcoming. The bartender (didn’t catch her name) was also skilled & delivered our drinks with genuine concern. We didn’t have room for dessert at the time, so Tina simply proceeded with a slice of delicious cheesecake to go. Hospitality is a word they know well at Mix!
Great quick lunch after a hike. Was able to sit outside with the dog which was a big plus. The staff was very attentive and polite. We got the red and green Thai curry which was delicious. Another person in our group got a creamy chicken and cabbage salad which they really liked. Overall a great experience and will definitely visit again.
We've never been disappointed by the food, service, or overall experience at MIX. The food and bar selections are fantastic, and they have plenty of delicious gluten-free options. The drinks are creative and tasty, but my favorite part has to be the delightful gluten-free popovers with their incredible dipping sauce. I highly recommend it, 10/10!
The cheesy hashbrowns are the best. Do your taste buds a favor and order a double helping of those. The omelettes are delicious and have well balanced flavors. The pancakes are enormous but lacking a bit in flavor. We suggest going with one of their french toast options instead if your looking for something with a bit more refined flavor profile, though the pancakes are good for kids or people who like items plain.
Titled, Hit or Mix. Hit = the popovers served before the meal instead of boring bread. Popovers crusted with cheese, pull-y and stretchy and still warm, served with magical tomato sauce, what a treat! The Miss: the shrimp avocado toast, a $19 price tag, which gets you some decently pretty artwork with an orchid, but an orchid doesn't provide many calories, and we estimated each little bite cost $3. Don't recommend. Other commentary: The noodle bowls are big and delicious, the assortment of mescals, rums, and tequilas are impressive; cocktails run $13. Atmosphere was quiet on a Sunday evening, perfect for cozy conversation. Chill beats played pleasantly in the background and it all made me feel pleased and at ease.
Went here with a party of 7 for dinner and all of us enjoyed our food. The plates vary in size, so getting several different plates to share worked well. Not a ton of vegetarian options, but there's enough to have a few options to choose from. Good quality wine selection. Our waiter was really friendly and nice, good service.
This place is just incredible. I've only been a half dozen times maybe because I don't live in Ithaca, but every time I go I'm so impressed with the food. The mussels are the stars of the show. The Italian variety are hard to beat. If they put this dish on a bed of pasta, game over, would be the best thing you've ever eaten. I got a noodle bowl with green curry, rice noodles, pork belly and a Thai fried egg. My goodness, so rich and decadent and spicy. Staff was very friendly and attentive, Michelle was great. My only knock on the place is the bathroom is not wheelchair accessible. My mom could not use the bathroom, this would be a 5 star review otherwise.
We ordered 3 small plates and two drinks. Prices were very reasonable considering these were some of the most ample small plates we have ever had! The flatbread and chicken and waffles were very good. The Mac and Cheese was not. I would recommend the chef add a few small plates with fruit/vegetables/appetizers to allow for a more complete experience. Worth a visit!
Food was very unique and memorable. They were short staffed when we went but the single server was doing a great job running the whole room herself. Very nice atmosphere, wish we could have sat at the bar
There are seatings out front and back of the restaurant. It seems busy inside so the 6 of us sat outside. The menu is very interesting and I had a hard time deciding. Ended up getting the buttermilk fried chicken. The chicken was crispy and juicy. The sauce and cheddar hash brown were delicious! The biscuit however was very disappointing. I love biscuits, but this one was dry and tasteless. Our waitress is super friendly.
Mix is always a really enjoyable experience. We don't go here often, but it's usually our place of choice for special occasions. Their pancakes are huge, but their omelettes are the perfect portion. I personally love every omelette I have tried, and so do my other family members. I remember that once I went there for my birthday, and the omelette was very bland and I couldn't eat it, but that was only once. Every other time it has been perfect.
We were in town for a show and found this place online. Our waitress was super friendly and extremely knowledgeable, I wish I could remember her name because she deserved a huge shout out. The drinks that she suggested were good, the bread they give you is very interesting, they are a gluten-free and have cheese in them! They told me exactly what they are called but I forgot now lol. It comes with a yummy tomato sauce to dip them in, I thought they were quite tasty. For appetizer we got the calamari, it was cooked pretty good, the sauce that is around it was absolutely amazing and pairs perfectly with it, Definitely one of my favorite calamari dishes I have had. For entree we had the filet, seasoned great and cooked perfectly, the side of a hash brown casserole it comes with was interesting, I would have rather had mashed potatoes, but the world didn't end so I guess it was ok haha.. all in all it was a great experience and would definitely go back!
Tiny slow to get seated but not bad. Waitress very nice, no problems. Food selection was a little small, especially for nut allergies, and a little pricey. Short ribs w corn bread pudding and onion rings were excellently cooked but dish itself not super cohesive. Raspberry limoncello drink was a bit of a letdown, tasted like simple vodka + juice. Sloppy bacon burger was quite good and extremely filling -> all burgers are default double patty and triple buns. Would probably go back.
Very nice place . We had thai style muscles , which were great . Bacon wrapped dates stuffed with gorgonzola , very good . Also beef stroganoff , also great . The atmosphere was nice . Our server was great , super nice .
The noodle and salad bowl we ordered were both great. Both my partner and I ordered cocktails on the menu that they could not do the night we visited. The waitress was also less than enthused any we asked to sit outside on a beautiful night. Note: the crisply pork boa buns are pork on a deep fried boa bun. It is unclear on the menu as we assumed the pork itself would be the crispy bit not the bun.
Food was good, and service was amazing. Good place for a family meal. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. My son has food allergies and our server helped ensure that my son could enjoy his food at ease. I left my hat in the restaurant and when I called for it a few minutes later the host already had it and was holding on to it for me. He was very polite.
Ambiance: Upon walking in, the restaurant is decorated with contemporary dinner vibes, like a level below fine dining. Service here was a great, very standard experience. Food: Appetizers: As I dined with friends, we shared plates of mussels. For the mussels there were 3 different versions you could choose from and my table opted for the french version. The broth was amazing, a 10/10, please dip the bread in it! However the mussels themselves definitely needed more through cleaning, a lot of the mussels had sand in them. :( Prior to serving the mussels, our server gave us complimentary bread with tomato sauce on the side. This was one of the best bread I’ve had, warm, soft yet chewy, I wish I could have moaaaar!! Main Course: We ordered the Roasted Salmon Scampi, Noodle Bowl (can’t accurately recall the name, on special menu), Wild Mushroom Ravioli, and Sriracha Buttermilk Fried Chicken and Waffle. For the prices, the portions are pretty large and would have filled the average person’s appetite without apps. Flavor wise it was delicious but nothing special. I had the roasted salmon scampi which was basically salmon, stir fried bok choy with 2 slices cheddar bread-cake?. Upon looking at the menu again as I wrote this review I realized it was supposed to be polenta which I’ve never had before. If I had to relate it to something similar it would be red lobster’s cheddar bay biscuits. My expectations for this dish was more along the lines of shrimp scampi but lesson learned google dish terms lol. My partner ordered off of the special menu. The name of the dish did not match what the actual dish was at all. Not worth the price according to him so just avoid the noodle dishes here. It was more along the lines of the Taiwanese braised beef noodles but not as good. After finishing the entrees we were stuffed, no dessert was ordered. TL;DR While the menu seems to attempt to throw a different twist on classic dishes it’s a very hit or miss. Flavors are nothing special with the exception of the complimentary bread, despite google reviews averaging 4.5 at the time of this review it’s closer to a 4.1 imo. Compared to the restaurant options in the area, I can see why it’s higher rated but compared to food cities, it's very average. Good dinner spot for Ithaca visitors but not a must.
Our party of 8 came here on a Thursday night. The parking lot was packed so we parked next door. The lot was empty. There was plenty of variety of food and drink options. There was good seating, a/c, and decent service. . One of the better spots in Ithaca to visit. Can be pricey $$$ depending on what you order. I've added photos of the various menu items. I personally for the steak skewers and pork buns. Solid choice. I wouldn't get the red snapper with rice noodles. It's good but some of the other options like the ribs were better I will be checking out some of the other dishes at mix the next time we are in town.
It was fairly busy when we went there. The popovers were undercooked, big blobs of dough in the middle. My girlfriend ordered the NY strip medium well. It came out medium rare to rare. Sent it back and it still came back very pink in the middle. Her margarita had no simple syrup in it so we sent that back. My ramen was really good though, would definitely recommend.
Came here because they had a surprisingly good selection of vegan options, but would be great to have even more. Got the vegan crab cakes, and they were tasty. The hostess was really nice but told us because it was a parents night, all the tables were booked, so we had to sit at the bar. Even if you are there to get food, just putting your menus down is not enough to give him the signal you are ready to order, you really have to call out to him to order, even if he looks really busy.
Just meh. The decor is really nice. We were seated quickly. There were a bunch of employees around but it took about 10 mins for somebody to get our drink order. My husband loved his burger. My son loved his waffle. My daughter only ate 2 of her 4 chicken tenders because 2 had soggy breading. I got the biscuits and gravy. Biscuits were dense and dry. Gravy was really good. My over hard eggs were way overcooked, brown and crispy. Side of bacon was $6 for 3-4 strips of thinly sliced bacon that was still very fatty. Lots of employees buzzing around to clear the table. I will try somewhere else next time we're in Ithaca.
This was the worst of my visits to Mix. One entrée came out cold, like refrigerator cold, waitress was trying to be sarcastic but was more annoying than funny, she dropped dirty silverware on one of our party soiling his shirt, she offered a dessert as a remedy. I'm not one to complain, see my many other reviews, but this needed said.
Decent food very bad service. Many empty tables but no one cleaning them while people waiting online. You only see your waiter when taking order and when gives you the bill. Not a single time the waiter asked us whether the food was ok. The table next to us no one attended to them for over 30 minutes. They sit down when we started ordering food and after we already finished food and paid bill still no one attended them :( I don’t think we will come back.
We went for a group dinner and the food tasted average for me. Wings and others as starters and 🍹 cocktails and special dinner menu - all menu just wanted to add “quite expensive” but taste like normal. Lastly while paying, that lady was rude (or probably she was a bit exhausted from work), as $240 did not go through, I was trying to say - I need to permit my phone app as from a European card - it happened! Cause that one big amount and card provider sent me a message “suspicious transaction “ 🤔 ; but she just ignored and did not allow me to try by myself. I just love their sitting environment and bread 💙. Thanks!
Nice little restaurant serving up traditional American fare providing both indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor patio allows folks to bring their pets and they are pet friendly. The front end staff were very friendly but the back end kitchen folks were struggling. Messed up our group’s order multiple times, putting wrong sides to wrong mains, wrong dressing on salads, etc. in the end, they even messed up our bill. Food tasted average and nothing super special. Lots of Cornell students with families there especially on the weekends. Check your bill before paying. Free parking on site.
This was my second time at this restaurant and I am greatly disappointed this time. I had a reservation and waited an hour before a drink was even served to my table. We had to wait 25 minutes before we even got asked if we wanted drinks. No one apologized the entire time or even tried to fix the issue. We asked multiple times to be helped and were very nice about the situation. The waitress was not knowledgeable about the bar or menu. It is very upsetting because the food was very good. The only disappointing dish was the calamari but everything else was great. It’s very upsetting because after this service I will not be returning. The service being this bad really drove me to this review and I am sad to take this place off my list.
The eggs are terrible. They must cook them in some kind of round pan and they come burnt on the outside and uncooked in the middle. I sent them back and they came back the same way. The cheesy hash browns used to be great but now they're horrible. You can tell the oatmeal comes right out of a box. I used to get a couple of pieces of fruit with my brunch but now you don't even get that. Not recommended.
Out of the five restaurants I tried in Ithaca, this one was definitely the worst. The duck confit was dry and tasted like chicken. The miso swordfish was way overcooked, dry, and chewy. The noodles with the duck was drenched in ginger sauce, and all we could taste was the ginger with no hint of the miso flavor at all. The pork bao was the highlight of the meal, and I would give it two stars. It was like a diss to my culture. I understand that this is a fusion restaurant, and I do think a lot of fusion restaurants fail to get the essence of the traditional food or even create new heights with their creativitiy, but I have tried some that do. Of course some of them are Michelin star restaurants, but the 4.5 star rating of this restaurant just bothers me. The food here lacks the essence of the traditional food. It’s like Americans tried to cook food from different cultures by just buying the sauce from their local grocery store.
One star, because they set the standard for delicious, creative cuisine in Ithaca and they are my ***favorite*** for dinner and their decadent brunch. They made me a hooked customer and now they are CLOSING to make some new place and I’m heartbroken 😭💔😭💔😭
Food is okay, there are better and less expensive options nearby. Service was horrible, namely Kayla. She forgot the appetizer and disappeared for nearly 20 minutes. The food was cold and took too long to come out and it wasn't even busy. Never have we felt so disrespected in a restaraunt. Ask for anybody except for her or spend your money elsewhere. Drinks were good. You will need them if she is your server. I don't recommend eating here though.
