I do lunch and the fish combo I just love it. Service is too fast as I expect.
I gave it a 5 ⭐ because of the food cost and the store location. You can find parking easily near the restaurant. They are always busy so the service might be a little slow. Overall not bad.
I went there every time. Recommended .They are very good people.
The customer service and the food was excellent
Al-Aqsa Restaurant truly brings the taste of home to Queens! Their meat curry is flavorful and just the right amount of spicy. I also love their singara—crispy on the outside, with a savory filling. Definitely a place to check out if you're craving Bangladeshi or Pakistani food.
I just simply loved their food specially their tea one of the best tea I ever drink also their hospitality is tremendous also I would like to mention about their price I think most cheapest food in town I think in this tough time this kind of just wow special thanks to the owner and management to think about poor people
I go to Al Aqaba because of their sweet. The sweet is Delicious as like Bangladeshi test.
Tried the Freedom Combo and honestly, it was perfect for the group. The Polao, Beef Curry, and Shami Kebabs were all on point-everyone loved it. We ordered online and picked it up without any hassle. Just a heads-up: you have to order ahead online, but it’s super easy.
Food taste is really good- customer service is slow, but all the workers are very humble, especially Mitu Apu and Altaf Bhai- they quickly serve our food and give us the best customer service.
Amazing beef, excellent service, and the chicken samosa was next-level good! Loved everything, highly recommend.
Good food and service is very decent. Their beef is delicious. Love it
Delicious foods and great selections. Staffs are welcoming and the service is quick. Great place for family and friends.
The food and their services was really good. I loved their food it’s testy and healthy too.
Best experience ever in this restaurant. Everyone is very cooperative and friendly & their service is outstanding. I recommend you
No complaints not one FINE establishment delicious food and beyond reasonable prices. Definitely a favorite.
Vortas are so good. It’s hard to find good vorta in NYC. All the people there are super nice and helpful. This is not my first time ordering here. Ordered many times. Never disappointed. Will be back soon.
I was late for review. To I went to Al aqsa restaurant and My experience is really amazing. I bought iftar at afternoon. The young guy serve my food whose name is maybe Parvez. His behaviour and hospitality was really amazing and every employer behaviour was really good. Btw Al aqsa iftar arrangement really impressed me. I recommend you for everyone.
Today I had the opportunity to eat at Al Aqsa Restaurant. The food tasted amazing, every item was fresh and delicious. The service was also very nice and neat. I really liked the atmosphere of the restaurant and the behavior of the staff. Overall, the experience was absolutely great. I would definitely like to come back in the future.
Great Spot for Events & Halal Food We recently hosted our 98-00 batch 5th-year anniversary at Al Aqsa Restaurant, utilizing their basement party hall. The space was well-suited for our gathering, and the overall experience was great. The food was flavorful, the service was attentive, and the ambiance was comfortable. While everything was good, a few minor improvements could make the experience even better—perhaps a bit more decor or enhanced seating arrangements in the party hall. That said, it’s a solid choice for anyone looking for halal food and an event space in Jamaica. Would definitely consider coming back!
If you're searching for a restaurant that truly delivers on flavor, variety, and a vibrant atmosphere, look no further than AL-AQSA. My visit here was an absolute culinary journey through the heart of Indo-Bangladeshi cuisine, and it has easily become a top-tier spot for me. Let's address the cost upfront: AL-AQSA sits on the higher side compared to other local desi restaurants. It's a bit pricey, and you'll notice this on the main dinner menu. However, the quality of the ingredients and the depth of flavor truly justify the cost—this is a "you-get-what-you-pay-for" situation. That said, the best value lies in their special menus. The lunch specials and the dedicated breakfast menu are surprisingly reasonable and offer fantastic bang for your buck, making them the smartest way to enjoy this place without stretching your budget. Now, the food is spectacular. The kababs are a must-try. We ordered the Seekh Kabab and the Chicken Reshmi Kabab, and both were masterpieces. Perfectly charred, succulent, and bursting with aromatic spices, they were worth every penny. But the excellence doesn't stop there. Their main courses, from rich curries to fragrant biryanis, are cooked to perfection. After such a hearty meal, we were tempted by their dessert display. The firni was delicately flavored with cardamom, providing a perfect, sweet ending. A word of advice: this place is huge and very spacious, which is great for groups. However, it gets incredibly busy, especially in the evening. The dinner rush creates a fantastic, energetic buzz, but be prepared for a potential wait as it's clearly a popular spot for a very good reason. In summary, while AL-AQSA is a premium dining experience cost-wise, the quality is undeniable. For the best value, aim for their special menus. Whether for a reasonable lunch or a full-blown dinner feast, this restaurant delivers a memorable experience. Highly recommended.
The food is ok but somewhat spicy so not the best for kids. The bathrooms are nasty and not cleaned enough. Edit: The owner responded to my review and upon going back, the bathrooms are still dirty with urine pooled in front of the toilet every time. Disgusting. I can only imagine what their kitchens look like if they don't care about cleanliness. Edit 2: The fish was poor quality. It's low cost for a reason. They don't really prioritize cleanliness. Sometimes dirty tables would just be there for 15 minutes before the waiter came to clean them. People would have to sit at tables piled with dishes. The floors are so dirty. And it's a shame this place operates with a Muslim name but uses such shady tactics, like giving everyone who writes a 5-star review free food to offset the NUMEROUS negative reviews they've gotten. Unclean, unhygenic, poor quality food, and bad owners.
Went in on a whim with the family, the food was great, and my grandpa really liked the little fish curry. We also tried the Kala bhuna, and it was okay, not the best, but not the worst. The little one in our family also wanted to try the chicken Biryani, and that was very flavorful, spice level perfect. Trying it fresh would've been nice, but as reheating is in the business, what can we expect.
The chicken bihari was dry and not marinated properly. The beef bihari kabob was burnt too much.
I’ve been here a few times. The last time I ordered samosas, they tasted old and stale.
My mom went to order but the line is unorganized. The cashier was took orders from people behind her and did not help her. When she finally complained, they took her order but ignored her and took a long time to give her food. So she refused the service and left. How can you have a restaurant without having a proper line in order?
The food did not meet expectations, and the quality was not as good compared to other Bengali restaurants in the area.
Assalamualaikum, I want to say that your biryani is always very delicious—I really appreciate the quality of your food. However, I would like to give some honest feedback regarding your customer service. Unfortunately, I’ve had several negative experiences with the front staff, particularly the lady at the counter. She doesn’t seem to know how to properly deal with customers, and even the manager appears unsure of how to handle certain situations. Because of this, I have stopped visiting, despite enjoying your food. It feels like perhaps customer satisfaction is not a priority anymore, which is disappointing. I hope the owner receives this message and considers improving the customer service or hiring staff who are more efficient and customer-friendly. I truly hope to come back and enjoy your food again in the future. Thank you.
Their kichuri in rainy days and Chinese vegetable are so good. However their service is not up to the mark.Whenever the store gets busy they seem like not paying attention well. The Lady in front wearing black is amazing. One more thing they forget to put spoons forks napkins inside the food bag.
My in law for some reason has an affinity for this Bangladeshi restaurant Al-Aqsa which used to be Taj Mahal a few years back. On this visit, he ordered kolija (liver) singara, samosas, beef bihari, and beef tehari. The singara was great, just like back home. The samosas were bad. The meat smelled off and was unpleasant enough that I could not eat them. The beef bihari kebab was overly salty and tangy and did not come with onions or raita. It was not my favorite bihari kebab by any stretch. The beef tehari on the other hand was excellent. Good portions and really hit the spot. Easily the highlight of everything we tried. I am not sure about pricing, and my wife who picked it up said service was basically nonexistent. Overall, while I liked the beef tehari, I would say quality control and consistency are not their strong suit. Eat at your own risk because you never really know if the food is fresh or if you are getting something that has been sitting around. All food is Halal. 2.5 rounded up.
They’ve perfected the art of cutting pockets, not cooking food
Food prices are outrageous. 1 large chicken tikka and 1 daal totaled $30. The menu prices have changed drastically.
I went there for lunch. I ordered chicken biryani and can of soda ($10 total). Who ever cooked the food, has minimal to no experience making biryani. Chicken is dry and dark. Either they had bad left over chicken and just threw it in the biryani. I know Bangla business practice: ETHICS is out the window. Rice is extremely oily and you can almost call it: soup oil biryani and rice got to be from day before. I tried not to throw it away because I don’t like to waste to food BUT extremely sticky awful rice quality was not tolerable. Their place looked clean and well organized in terms of seating. That’s the only positive I can dig out. I will return one more time just to be fair and try other items.
Last summer I ordered a summer special chicken rost pelow for our picnic and they gave me few trays of food and said this is all so I took the food to the park and next thing we see they didn’t even give the rice and I called to informed them and they don’t want to admit that they forgot instead giving me an attitude that I didn’t ask them lol. I told them to check their video camera and the guy told me this is all the food. Also they didn’t give the salad that comes with the deal we had to have one of our friend to bring the rice for us and we were 2hrs away from the restaurant. Restaurant guy didn’t even say sorry lol. My 2nd experience was Last week I ordered the winter special for the Briyani and they kept the hot food tray cover sealed so when we picked up the food and ready to eat it was smelling bad we couldn’t eat at all. All they had to use their common sense and make some holes on the top cover to release the heat. You always can warm up cold food and eat but smelly food u can’t never eat. I had many many bad experience at this restaurant but still I buy food hoping this time it will be better. This restaurant is my last option to go when I have zero choice since it’s near my house.
Fake advertisement. Don't believe the advertising i expected to get the combo. I came in the restaurant and ordered the chicken biryani combo. The staff didn't give me the soda that should be included even denied that it is not included with the Combo even i show the advertisement posted 5 days ago. Says it should be online purchase but on the advertisement it clearly stated "Come Today and Enjoy our chicken Biryani Combo! November 10, 2025 @10am
This is an absolute ridiculous business they are running here! Customer service is lower than Lowest. Saw the workers misbehaving with customers many times and they take order and then forgets. I personally faced bad customer service many times here but i am usually a calm and accepting guy. But it's just too much! They don't value your time or you as a customer at all. It's not like their food is great. It's very average and basic. I don't know how they are still on busines. Not recommending this place at all.
Yesterday I ordered from uber eats 4x buy 1 get 1 chicken biriyani for my friends. So that I should get 8 pack of chicken biriyani.my questions is if I ordered one then I will get another one & I don’t have to ordered per person. This simple thing they didn’t get . When I called restaurant the guy said I have to ordered per persons . He was like he don’t have solutions on it . Only one word talk with uber eats and I ordered wrong , I didn’t ordered them for buy 1 get 1 offer.. so that’s the screenshot I took that it’s from the order. The guy doesn’t have the general sense he was very unprofessional to customer. I’m sorry to say that The restaurant just literally doing FRAUD on uber eats the name of buy 1 get 1 offer. They just ruined my day before Iftar. I ordered for my friends to do Iftar . I really pissed of . I recommend people please before order talk with them otherwise you will get disappointment like me. 😡
No way to give them any kind of good review. If you want see bad customer service and want to see their behaviour can go there.
I ordered through DoorDash and I’m sorry to say this they have ruined goat biryani and butter chicken for me.. the biryani was rice and bones and barely any meat with a bad smell to it, the smell was from the old meat it was horrible honestly. The butter chicken looked and tasted like everything but butter chicken. Also got garlic naan it’s was good honestly but other then that ,SORRY TO DO THIS TO YOU. DO NOT RECOMMEND
*Very Disappointing Customer Service Experience* !!! I recently ordered and paid two Chicken Biryani and a separate tray of Goat Biryani. Unfortunately, I mistakenly selected only one item at checkout. When I kindly requested the staff to manually adjust my order, they refused and responded in a confrontational manner. I hope the restaurant owner addresses this issue and ensures that the manager is properly trained to handle such situations more professionally, as it could have been easily resolved without negatively impacting the business or customer experience.
DO NOT SELL ROTTEN FOOD PLEASE . If you can not survive then think alternate but do not sell any rotten food to customers. On Thursday I went to buy food for my IFTER but after whole day of fasting when I put the food in my mouth all the food are rotten, over cooked . It is what the ifter item they keep cook n fry for last few days . They dont sell fresh food . This is not good at all. Better watch out what are you selling to customers.
What the hellllllll.what’s the problem with the tall guy heared that he is the manager. Hell nooooo. He has no idea how to behave with the customer. I just love their food and this is soo cheap for me That’s why i used to go there everyday to have my lunch & sometimes dinner. But the guy being always underestimated with me He behaved like that why i am here everyday for having one Combo daily? His voice makes me low. In his opinion i should spend more money everyday . I feel Ashamed to going there now. You guys keep cheap price thats not my problem. He should be trained that what is called customer service. How to behave with the customer THANKS
Think at-least twice before book this place. Worst place places among all. Food is good though.
Today we went there and wait 40 min for my order to eat then i come out from store without eating any food. This is ridiculous and pathetic.. 😡😡 Day by day their customer service getting worse..
Ordered 2 beef biryani, it had 3 pieces of beef each and the amount is half of what it used to be, total Scam
After keeping in waiting for 25 minutes, no service/order delivery. Ordered 4 Beef Shami Kebabs which the guy said he would be able to give me. No change in service quality. He could have told that specific order could not be met, I could have left.
Really bad food , day before left over food keep it sale the customer, please every one eat before make sure good quality or not’
First time we order biryani it says buy 1 get 1 When we order they send only 1 biryani upon asked they told we have to order 2 then we going to get buy 1 get 1 Totally logic less Next time when we order Food was disastrous , biryani was stale , chicken wasn't cooked well It was stale , pink in color Very bad service .
Goat curry just bones and fat. Chicken biryani nasty and barely any chicken all bones. Avoid
Terrible service experience. The staff seemed poorly trained and unorganized—no clear chain of command, too slow and talks between each other instead serving, which led to slow and frustrating service. This location feels like a disaster in the making and will seriously harm the reputation of their main branch. If management doesn’t step up and hire good people, this place won’t last long. Disappointed.
Once a time i purchased 2 box Nihari from there. After get back to my house, when i opened the box i was very disappointed. 1 box has only one single empty bone. They made a trick with me. So i'm not recommended anyone and also the taste was very bad, only they put lots of green chilli on it.
Pure Food poisoning- chills, fever, vomiting; gave us spoiled chicken biryani under the guise of “buy one get one free”; the oil used for the daal and chicken curry smelled old; save yourself from food poisoning; my family suffered; protect yourselves
This place stole my money. I ordered using uber eats and they kept pushing back the estimated delivery time. Canceled and was charged the full price for the food so I called to try and pick it up. They then told me that I'd have to pay again for the food if I want to pick it up. These people are crooks and I suggest you pick a better, more honest place to do business with.
Worst experience I had I have ordered a food and keep asking them for my food and they were keep talking to each other. I waited 30 minutes there just for one small chicken curry and aloo bhaji one lady said that she didn’t took my order and other guy took the order so I need to talk to him for my order. They were even having conflicts in them while having a conversation. So I will not recommend this place and I never write something like this on any page but this was the worst experience I had.
The guy in the cashier with beard and white hat is extremely rude with customers as well as his colleagues. Food is good but behaviour and service is shitty. The guy is behaving like he is doing me a favour by taking my order. Disgusting.
Re-post: Yesterday I ordered Plain Polao for 20 people and 22 pieces of beef kabab from Al Aqsa Restaurant for a Birthday party. However, when we started serving the food, we found a bug inside one of the kababs. It was extremely disappointing and unhygienic. No one was willing to eat the food after that, and I had to throw everything away, which completely ruined the event. This was supposed to be a special occasion, but instead, it became a disaster. I am highly dissatisfied and will never order from here again. Be careful if you’re thinking about eating/ordering from here.
They need to change employees there. I was standing for 15 mins and no one even acknowledged me . The servers literally passed by my doing god knows what they were doing without even saying a word .
Very disappointed Even after coming to the restaurant and after waiting there i am given a wrong order, my order had two gravies it was for group of 3 people and they give me a biryani which belongs to someone else. I couldn't make out that the order was wrong as it was covered in paper bag. I call them They won't even correct this error and ask me to come and take my order next day. This has happened 2nd time and I am never visiting this place
We had we had a party. The entrance is so bad that ok like a garbage . The owner took carpet from garbage and put it into the entrance . The entrance door is broken. The entrance is chairs so stinky smelly, Look like no one can throw garbage on the entrance. sitting chair was dirty and stinky smelly. I would not suggest anyone take a chance to do party over there. My guest complaining me about the cleanliness you can get interested to getting food. The service area food table cloth was so dirty .
We had catering 2 times from here. chicken Roast taste was very bad. Nobody liked it. Only the chapli Kabab was good. No more catering from here.
This Restaurant has pretty bad customer service and takes 10 minutes to prepare an order of naan and doesn't provide any sides with the order of kebab.
I went to buy 3 samosas, and they gave me 3 samosas. One of them was worn, and two of them looked so bad. I even found a dead cockroach. Another day, I went to buy a large-sized vegetable dish, which was $8, but they gave me a medium size ($4) and charged $8 for it.
We ordered catering food, we thought of taking home then we decided to eat in the dinning area . And their cashier didn’t let us to eat at all. His attitude was a like owner of the restaurant. I’ve been going there almost a year and I won’t go back there anymore. Such a shame and waste of money
Food was cold and not tasty. The price is not bad, guess you get what you pay for.
I ordered Beef Biriyanis through Uber Eats and I picked up.The order was buy 1 get 1 deal,The Buy 1 Get 1 deal felt misleading. It looked like one portion was split into two smaller containers instead of giving two full sizes biriyani .Its happened with me 2 times.First time I thought it might be a mistake. Now i figured out they’re doing intentionally. They are just cheating with people.
Every weekend I ordered my food from this restaurant, as usually Today I ordered buna kichuri kombo with duck curry. I was so upset that the meat wasn’t cooked properly, its smells uncooked also their kichuri wasn’t fresh . Sorry for you guys, u gonna to lose your regular customer.
The bread-serving trays were visibly dirty, indicating poor overall hygiene. The dining table was not properly cleaned after the previous guests, and when we requested cleaning, the waiter wiped the table using the same cloth used to clean plates and utensils. The food was served late and did not appear freshly prepared; the naan was flat and cold instead of fresh. Additionally, the reception process was unprofessional, as the receptionist was engaged in personal conversations while customers waited several minutes to pay their bills.
I am a regular customer who've been coming multiple times a month for years now (starting from their Bronx location). Was happy when they opened in Jamaica. The food is good but the portions have gotten comically small while prices remain the same or higher. Bought two beef biryanis a few days ago and each had only about two pieces of meat in it. Shame.
Terrible service. Bait and switch. They will intentionally give wrong food size in pickup order because customers are in a hurry. The kitchen is unhygienic and food contamination is happening every single day. The food temperature is also incorrect. One of Jamaica's worst restaurant.
Here’s a polished and professional version of your review while keeping the message clear: --- The food here is usually very good, but this is the second time I’ve had an issue. I bought butter chicken, and it was completely spoiled. This is unacceptable for any restaurant. Customers who order takeout deserve fresh food that’s cooked the same day, and I’m certain this butter chicken was not. I purchased it on Saturday, November 22nd.
This place has gone completely downhill. The seekh kebab went from $2 to $2.50 and the chapli kebab is now $2, yet both are so tiny and thin it’s honestly embarrassing. You’re basically paying full price for scraps. But the food isn’t even the worst part. The environment is uncomfortable. And what really made me decide I’m never coming back is the behavior inside. One of the male staff members does not understand boundaries at all. He tries to push unnecessary conversation even when it’s obvious I’m not interested. It’s uncomfortable and unprofessional, especially when I’m just there to pick up food and leave. There are plenty of restaurants that respect customers and serve actual portions. This is not one of them. Never going back.
Terrible service , $26.12 for 2 beef biriyani pack with chicken roast and shami Kabab absolutely rip off. Basically they provided 1 biriyani splitted in to two container. I have attached the empty container image which was purchased just last week’s so that you can compare . Even though half size container still not fill it properly.
