Avis sur Sauce Jamestown
My mom has been braging about this place for a while now, even after only on visit herself! Well, I was finally able to make it down from Buffalo during a time they were open. OH.MY.GOD! Was it worth the wait!!! I got the Chicken alla Ava with an upgrade to the vodka sauce. Not only did I finish it, I wanted more of it. The only part that I didnt like was that my thick sliced tomato were cold for my liking. Again, my personal issue as I dont like cold and hot items together. Absolutely will tell my friends visiting from Buffalo for the comedy museum to eat here!
First time here and didnt disappoint. Amazing food. Definately will be back.
You seat yourself, and when you know what you want on the menu you go up to the counter to order. Things are definitely delicious and the dessert should not be skipped! Two very minor nitpicks: knives are flimsy and the bathroom floor is sticky.
A nice casual downtown Italian dining experience. The decor is stylish and fun, and the menu extensive. A highlight is the Sicilian-style pizza with thick crust which is a tasty change from the local standard. I also recommend the eggplant stack starter and the cannoli with a sweet ricotta filling rather than the mostly-custard versions a lot of restaurants serve. At some point they switched to traditional table service which I prefer. Days and hours are limited, so check those carefully.
First time I have tried sauce. The Pizza is true. New York style Pizza was very good compared to the other Pizza places in the area sauce was decent. The amount of cheese that they put on was perfect. I like a little less cheese. So if you like extra cheese, you'll probably want to add extra cheese. The crust was excellent, the best part of the Pizza. The eggplant parmesan was good the marinara sauce is excellent. It's probably one of the better pizzas in the area overall, if not the best,
Closest thing to NY style pizza in Jamestown is Sauce's Neo Neopolitan NY style pizza! Add the balsamic drizzle if you're feeling fancy!
This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend who has family living here and also by two employees at the Lucille Ball museum. We think the recommendation was well made. The service and food are wonderful. Understand this is a local restaurant for the people of the community. And they do a very good job. We had the chicken à la Ava and it was delicious. We chose the Sunday sauce for the pasta and found the sauce to be rich and a little bit on the sweet side. It was very tasty. And we shared our compliments with the chef You couldn’t go wrong to come here. The restaurant decor is very nice and simple. The booth can very comfortably see six people making this a great place to bring your family or a group of friends
Order was to go and I used the Sauce App for the first time. It could not have been easier and the order was perfect Food was amazing like it always is
Out of several drink choices, but it was a seasonal switchover, so not a big deal. Server was super friendly. Food was delicious! No wait, seated right away.
Amazing food and service!, We usually get the 5 families or permanent vacation pizza. Definitely recommend but Friday and Saturday is usually the busiest around 5:30pm-close
Honestly, this was the best Italian food I’ve had in a long time. I ordered the Sunday Sauce, and let me just say if you’re a fan of a sweeter-style sauce, this is the one to try. Rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, it truly stood out. I’ll definitely be coming back for more.
Love their food. Best atmosphere out of any restaurant in Jamestown! I mean trust me you ain’t gonna find a better spot to eat. Food was great and affordable. Menu was easy to read, with right amount of choices. The staff was excellent. I mean honestly it’s Jamestown NY. You’re not gonna find a better place to eat and I invite you to try. This place would easily stand up to most restaurants in bigger cities in my opinion.
Ordered a to-go meal. Everything was delicious. The best pizza in town without a doubt!! My only complaint Is regarding the Pasta with the Alfredo sauce. That was also delicious! However, the pasta was placed in a to-go styrofoam container with foil on the bottom. The next day, it was hard to get the leftover pasta out without the foil sticking to it. Perhaps a different liner on the bottom of the container would work better. Looking forward to our next Pizza adventure there. So many choices. This wasn’t the first time we ordered from there, and it definitely will not be the last!!! You have had the rest, now try the best!
Ordered take out on the new app! Worked great, food was hot and ready when I got there. Was greeted as soon as I walked through the door. Love the reno, booths look great!
Our first time trying Sauce we got a takeout. I love a proper neapolitan thin crust pizza and theirs is amazing, we had the prosciutto one and it is now probably my favorite pizza place in town. It was very large too. My husband got himself a chicken parm which he thoroughly enjoyed as well. We will be coming back for more for sure. Would love to dine in next time instead. Only thing that's a little inconvenient is the fact they're only open 4 days a week (closed sundays) and they close already at 7:30 PM.
Me and my friends all loved this place. The atmosphere was great. We loved the mafia theme and the fancy chandeliers. The drink selection was nice, and they had plenty of food to choose from. The pizza we ordered still tasted great the next day and the day after that. If you are sensitive to the cold, I would recommend sitting in the back since the seats near the door can be a bit chilly. This restaurant is good to either share pizza with friends, or take a date to.
Tried Sauce finally and sorry it took us so long! Excellent homemade Sicilian pizza! We ordered two half pizzas...don't! One is plenty for two people but the leftovers were great so it isn't really a complaint. The special pizza was good but the create your own was outstanding. The sauce, as you would hope based on the name, was excellent with a fresh tomato taste not too heavy...cheese to meat ratio excellent and it was cooked to perfection. Next time we we will try the pasta!
Updated review 8/15/25: While I stand by my review of the food, my opinion of the owners has diminished with my most recent visit. We arrived 45 minutes before closing, and after my first experience here, I know the amazing food takes time but watching a table come in after you, get their food, eat, and leave before you get your food is a fairly big issue. From our booth we could see the entire restaurant, where we could see that the owner was apparently too busy BSing to apologize for the mistakes made on her watch. The college age server was the one trying to make it right. Was the food amazing? Yes. Was the server attentive and friendly? Finally, after we had to seek her out for beverage refills after waiting so long. Do I want to continue to make an hour long drive to patronize people that can't be bothered talking with customers experiencing a problem in their establishment? I honestly don't know. Org review from earlier 2025: It's a good thing I live almost an hour away, or I'd go broke eating here every day they're open! I got a large pizza, and I'm so thankful I did because there was plenty to take home. The crust was light yet substantial, and so crispy. Perfectly cooked. I'm not typically wild about red sauce so I asked for it to be on the easier side and they delivered. It was a great balance of sauce, cheese, and toppings.
The best part of this place is the pizza, and it is well worth it. I live in Youngstown, OH -- where the pizza some of the best you'll find in America. I thought I knew most of what I needed to know about good pizza. But this is something new and phenomenal. It's like perfectly-baked focaccia bread topped perfectly with fresh well-sourced, ingredients, artistically and deliciously used. We had Corrado's Garden, The Boot, and Don the Jeweler. All flawless. The problem was the wait and the management. I'm visiting friends in Erie, PA, and they intentionally brought me here to try the pizza. It was an hour drive. And we had to negotiate around the downtown car show to find parking within walking distance. We had earned our pizza before we even sat down. We got there at 6:45 on a Friday and didn't eat until about 8:30. We watched another family sit and eat and leave in that time. Our server, Kirsten, was good -- she cared. It was obvious she was embarrassed, but was honest about what happened. She was late ringing it in, and then the kitchen made a mistake and had to redo the order. It was full and busy when we arrived, but by the time we were told about the error, the place had fairly well cleared out. Never once did the owner, who was in plain sight at the bar, every come over to address the problem with us. She kept sending our server over, first with an offer of a free dessert, and then an offer to pay for one of the pizzas out of her own pocket (the server's). We told her we didn't want her to do that or to have to feel bad about doing her best to handle a situation that the manager or owner should have handled, as is their responsibility. Kirsten eventually came back as well with a $10 gift card. Her congeniality and sincerity -- along with the flawless pizza -- saved the situation. But this business needs accountability from the top. Sending your server over by herself repeatedly says you can't be bothered to own your mistakes and have honest interactions with your customers. We wish Kirsten the best in college. Her integrity will take her far. Perhaps her boss can learn something from her.
Wow! We were going to give this place a third chance because the first two times we ate there it was mediocre, but it was sort of good my chicken piccata was delicious, but my husband‘s food well not worth talking about… average. Maybe I would say that the atmosphere was nice but the service was lousy! But here’s the rub…they’re not open today! It’s September 19, ( maybe 18th I don’t know) on aFriday! They’re going to be open on Wednesday? Seriously, what kind of business is this? OK if it’s a funeral or something, but really this is the way you run a business? And I read these reviews. It’s laughable that the owner cannot take any criticism big or small! Wow, great way to drum up business! Oh, that’s right you’re not open you don’t have business happening so there’s that! What fools do not open for business or maybe just maybe you’ve got a little problem with your employees, nobody to cook the food or wait on the tables because you seem to be very very Irritated at any criticism! From a person who has owned two restaurants in my life, not to mention as well as worked in them since I was 13 (and yes, I’m a boomer), not a way to take criticism, not a way to run a restaurant… so I know that you could care less if I say goodbye! But I got a mouth that will tell so many people about your place. so do the other past reviewers. You don’t even have an idea do you? I don’t know if you ever heard this, but it’s not what you say but how you say it and ridiculing people on their reviews well, not the way to go.(wink wink)… Just giving it back to you which you well deserve! Thin skinned not a wear on a business. I bet your employees quit, but who cares at this point
EDITED REVIEW, SEE BELOW FOR ANSWER TO OWNER I expect having their traditional "liar" as answer... it seems to be their "business model" but i do this review for the people. I don't understand the mud slide of good review. I tried their 100 years old recipes and...I must say I would love to have a time machine to taste this pasta dishes back in time. The meat ball taste very regular meat loaf and the sauce itself got a little sugary taste.... we are far from any authentic Italian stuff. Servers are young.... maybe need a little bit of experience to help them since everything was a bit chaotic. OWNER'S ANSWER SEPT 2025: "Yes we have a brand new crew of youngsters in the front of the house since we have lost some to college. And we are working hard to correct any errors made.. since you mentioned “time travel”in your cocky review.. I thought I was back in 2017(when business reviews were cool) answering a review by an account w a fake name ( I can see why), who has nothing else to do on vacation but comment on every gas station, roadside fruit stand, mcdonalds, car parts store and hard working mom and pop business along the way…get a life." MY LAST REPLY A business owner should be able to grow with critics, not put the blame on others. I have made over 200 reviews on businesses I have visited, most of them were positive. If it ain't good, it ain't good. I don't predict a very good future with that attitude. You get a life; you ain't perfect. Point.
