Avis sur The KnightLight Tavern Jefferson
We have been coming to the Knight Light for eight years now and have always enjoyed both the food and atmosphere. The service is the best and Richard, one of the owners, is almost always onsite to make sure your experience is always 5 star!!
We at here 4 of our 5 nights in Jefferson, Texas on a motorcycle trip. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. My favorite was the crawfish linguini. Good stuff. Thank you!
Went for dinner and had soup and snacks. Food was great and service was good.
Terrific little restaurant! The bartender was fun and engaging. We met some new friends at the bar...and looking forward to seeing them in the near future
Stephanie Jongsma and I had dinner at The KnightLight Theatre on the way to a concert in Linden. The atmosphere was perfect. The Salmon with Herb Sauce was divine! In fact, I just cannot get it out of my mind. I will be back soon.
Non smoking - cleanest restaurant in Jefferson - great food and warm welcoming service My husband and I go there at least once a week. The food is consistently delicious and they have a wide variety of beer and wine!
Good food and great environment.
Really fun restaurant. The meat pies and Charcuterie were awesome. Drinks were great, and the entertainment was amazing
Such a great place. Variety and taste of foods here are great. Friendly staff and personal attention makes this more than just a place to eat.
Friendly service and terrific food. It has a wonderful atmosphere. I really enjoyed my visit there.
When we travel to Jefferson we always dine at Knights Tavern for our first meal. Sometimes we dine here more. Always a friendly staff. Always have a great meal. Would recommend for a great meal.
Cool atmosphere. There is a bar. They have a decent wine selection. Liquor selection. And nice tables, menu's, and music. Not too bright.
Great food and atmosphere! Super friendly and accommodating waitstaff! Locals recommend this restaurant and tourists love it.
A great small town restaurant! Had alligator bites, shrimp po boy, and a rueben. The rueben was the BEST one I have EVER had, and I've eaten a lot of sandwiches. Although there was a wait to be served, the friendly atmosphere and waitress didn't make the wait seem long at all. Will definitely be eating here next time I visit.
This fine dining establishment is my wife and my favorite restaurant. The service is excellent. The food is delicious. The decor is Medieval type shields, suits of armor, etc. There is a full bar with live music on the weekend, and well worth the 50 mile drive to get there. We make the trip to Knightlight Tavern several times a year every year.
Great service and super great food. Beautiful ombiance.
We both got a burger from here and they were delicious. The beef was cooked to perfection and the toppings were plenty but not overwhelming. The fries and onions rings were light and crispy. This is a must try if you come to Jefferson.
Food is AMAZING, best Alfredo I've ever had. Bathrooms are VERY nice and clean, small, especially for people with children, but CLEAN!!! Server was very sweet, atmosphere was nice. Don't let the outside "hole in the wall" look fool ya, its great
Excellent! Our meal was delicious. Drinks were top notch. Waitress was attentive and friendly. Definitely going back next time we're in Jefferson.
Loved music bingo night. Staff is so friendly.
A wonderful place with very good food! The service was awesome. We ordered the cheese board which was tasty and we split the tavern salad and shrimp pasta primavera. So good! We were very impressed and the next time we are in Jefferson, we will eat here.
I really enjoyed this place. Burger was hot and juicy, side salad was fresh and good quality, atmosphere and decor was cool, and the staff was very prompt and courteous. I will bring my husband with me next time, thank y'all!
Ashley our server was great, we enjoyed all her recommendations. The decor and atmosphere was top notch in Jefferson. We had pizza and couple beer suggestions from Ashley as well as a wine flight. The wine flight was a spectacular deal at only $10
Pizza was great. We have always visited here while we are here for tour. Ask for Zoe. She’s great!
Had family Thanksgiving dinner here. Food was great, service was great and atmosphere was very pleasant. The evening was perfect! Have been here before and was just as good with every visit. Highly recommend.
Best Reuben sandwich ever 🤤
The Scarborough Chicken with mashed potatoes and brown gravy was amazing. Sudee did a great job tonight! Also love our server Regina, she’s the best! 🥰🥰
Excellent food and atmosphere! Our waitress was very attentive and great service. Wonderful priced food. Very much recommend!!
Beer was a little high but the atmosphere and waiters were great! We will be back should have eaten here earlier in the day but didn’t know about it until we ask someone for a beer location. Go here first.
I absolutely loved this place on our last trip to Jefferson!! The atmosphere is very comfortable and medieval themed, the staff was very attentive and the mead was DELICIOUS! I recommend their burgers and Cajun pasta!!!
We just finished our second dinner here, two nights in a row. Three kinds of tacos, gumbo, salmon, pizza, alligator bites, fried green tomatoes, and bourbon pecan pie were only a few of the wide variety of options on the menu, but all in our table. Every one of them was spectacular. Uniquely blended spices, fresh ingredients, and definitely prepared by someone with a passion for good food. We are only in town for four days and will be back again! The service was great and nice ambience to boot. A definite yes!
We just stopped in here for drinks! Drinks were great. The inside of the place is super cool! There is also a back patio area that a lot of people were sitting at, that looked really nice. We sat at the bar and someone had just left.. our waitress took the time to clean it really well, which was awesome!
Cozy tavern with good food and excellent selection of beers and wines. I had the Camelot burger- they don't ask how you want it because it comes out perfect. Wife had the cod.
As first time visitors, we were blown away by the ambiance of the restaurant. The real treat was the great food and awesome service!!! Hollye was an excellent server and was super helpful with the menu since I am gluten intolerant. She answered all my questions, put my mind at ease, and even explained if I call ahead that they would create my meal with the special bread I require! Above and beyond great service and we will be returning on our honeymoon 💞
We are on a road trip and visited this wonderful restaurant with great ambiance and atmosphere. The burger was delicious and the grilled a chicken filet for our doggie. Great conversations with the staff as well. Do go, and enjoy your time!
This was the first time I had been there. The food was very good and great prices. It has a nice bar also. Everyone was very friendly. I will definitely go back. They have taco Tuesday and the fried catfish taco was delicious. It had Cole slaw and a sauce they made on it that was great.
Our B&B recommended we come to eat and we had so much fun!! The chicken fried steak was the best I’ve had in a long time. The service was great. Thank you for a fun musical evening!!!
Wonderful evening and our waitress Holly was exceptional. Great service and wonderful recommendations! The redfish was absolutely delicious! Will definitely return!! 5☆rating!
Wife and I enjoyed a tasty beverage and several appetizers, it was a great time..
Amazing people, great food, & helpful staff. Nice job!
Such a neat atmosphere - think medieval decor and tapestries. Pretty extensive menu too and large portions. We started with the tater kegs and chicken & sausage gumbo - the gumbo was some of the best I've ever had. Then I dived into the St. Patty's Burger with Swiss cheese, bacon and sauerkraut. Fantastic and so different from your average burger! My boys loved the buffalo chicken sandwich and lemon-pepper chicken w/ mashed potatoes. Great service - our waitress was very personal and had great suggestions. Definitely worth the trip!
As always we had a wonderful evening at Knight Light. The food is consistently delicious. Always served in a reasonably timely manner, and exactly as we ordered. Add to that the great service by the servers, the pleasant conversations with the other patrons, and the affordable prices, it is one of the hidden wonders of Jefferson Texas. Located at 292 North Walnut Street a must experience for all who visit our little town. Grace and Bill Daddario
I was not expecting what we walked into but it was awesome! The food, service, and atmosphere were so good! Neat place with great food and drinks!
I have only dined here once but the experience i had was fantastic! We had ordered the artichoke dip with glasses of honey mead and it was delicious! We ended up buying a bottle of honey mead to take home, 10/10 i would recommend!
Food is amazing. Customer service and friendliness were unparalleled (to where I live), atmosphere was quaint and genuine. Excellent overall experience. I will visit again when I'm in the are. Gina is exceptional with people and very personable. I recommend everyone to frequent this locally owned Jewel!!
We are at two other "highly recommend" restaurants in the area... This one best them by far! The food is 10 star, easily! The bar tender took such good care of us, and we just intended to have a drink or two. We saw such such amazing fare being served to other dinners, and it smelled so good, we had to try it. We were not disappointed. The food is out of this world good! If you are in this area, or can make it a detour... You must stop here! The best!!!
What a wonderful eating establishment. Fantastic food, great atmosphere and friendly waitstaff. There are unique items on the menu, that did not disappoint We had the St. Patty’s burger (delicious) And The Dragon Jalapeño Burger (also delicious) Looks like it would be a great venue for small live acts too with their performance stage. Highly recommend!
This place was so good! The food was very fresh and quite plenty. We shared an appetizer and an entree and it was plenty of food. The drinks were relatively inexpensive with a large craft beer being only 4.50 and a the most expensive specialty drink being only 9. The service was incredible and super friendly. You get the small town feel but with sacrificing service. Their was a local singer/songwriter who was doing cover songs and a fre of her own. She was extremely talented and added to the evening. Well worth the visit!
The food was wonderful! My husband and I shared the spaghetti and had leftovers. Our waitress was phenomenal and the hostess was great! The building was cool to look at it and it was the perfect place to have a dinner date. We will definitely be back!
Started off with a Bloody Mary at the recommendation of our waitress Hollye. We chose the Boudin Eggrolls as our appetizer with Remoulade sauce, which was delicious. Then a Cesar salad topped with bacon (most places I visit, I have to request it), the Cesar dressing was delicious. Main course was the perfectly blackened salmon topped with crab over a bed of white rice. Hollye’s personable service and attentiveness along with the atmosphere were great! It was my first time visiting, but I will most definitely be back to try the rest of the menu!
Everything we’ve tried so far has been delicious! The service is always good, and we enjoy it when they have live music.
Damn! This place is great! We are traveling through & ate on the patio. The service Holly provided & food is excellent. We just happy to be here on half price wine night...which was cool, but being the southern boy that I am, I got the catfish dinner with best coleslaw I've ever had! Keep up the great work. Can't wait to come back.
This is a lovely place! I've been a couple times now with my wife and the staff is so kind and welcoming. I've only tried a couple of their fish dishes so far, but the bread and oil is a MUST. I'll definitely be returning!
Loved this place. They even allowed my dog to join us on the patio for a great hamburger...St. Patty's Burger. My son also got one. Holly took care of us...good waitress! Kinda pricey for burgers and fries but it's a tourist town... what do you expect!
Patio was great and live music (Winston Hall) was awesome!
I liked everything of this place. Nice atmosphere, good menu even better food. We absolutely had a great time. The dessert was delicious as well. In the middle of the room there is a sweet little stage for live performances. If I would live here, I would rent this place for personal parties and stuff, it‘s very cool.
Great place. We come to Jefferson sporadically and this is define. a go to place now. Some of the best Jefferson has to offer. Service was excellent. Food on par. Prices very reasonable. I had the chicken fried steak. We also got the crab cakes, pasta, the pecan pie and lava cake. We enjoyed all of it. The portions were just enough so you don't feel like you're rolling out from being so stuffed. I'm sorry it took so long to find this place.
Little taste of heaven in Jefferson TX. This whole town is full of small town charm. You will not regret eating here. The entire experience in this town was amazing. I'm definitely glad we stopped in.

Great place to visit We had just one night in Jefferson and chose the Knightlight Tavern. The food was lovely, and we really enjoyed it. The staff were really helpful and friendly. Met the owners and two of their friends, they were very convivial hosts, suggesting lots of ideas for our onward journey. One of which was Caddo Lake, a mill pond, which was well worth a visit. I would definitely recommend this place.
My family and kids enjoyed eating here. The patio made a lovely place to sit, eat, and relax. The food we ordered (burgers mostly) was fantastic. There is a kids menu if dining with kids. Nice restaurant.
Food tasted great. Service was amazing. Zoey was our waitress and she was very attentive and took great care of us! The hostess was also very nice and sat us quickly! We also met the owner and he was very nice! I love the theme of the restaurant as well. Will definitely be back next time we are in town!

The food and drinks were good, but the portions were a bit small for the price. However, great service and good atmosphere.
Tonight I had the chicken salad plate. It comes with chicken salad on top of a tomato with a lettuce bowl. Also served with a couple of wafer crackers and some captain's crackers. Very nice and affordable at just $7, if you didn't want something heavy. Location is good in downtown Jefferson. Staff is friendly and attentive.
Had a delicious steak! It was cooked perfectly. Sides are a la carte, but at least you dont get over stuffed. They had one of my favorite wines. The waitress was attentive a d very friendly.
Our server was Hope and she was great. My wife had the salmon and it was amazing. Son had the chicken fried steak and it was way big. I had the chicken topped with cheese and bacon with a siracha bbq sauce. It was ok. Could have had more sauce. Was not aware the sodas did not have free refills. All in all a great experience and would definitely go back.
Really enjoyed our bar experience. Restaurant is inviting and hope to eat there next time. Local residents are friendly and easy to talk to.
A late Saturday night trip to the Knightlight!!! The menu is alittle pricey for me, but then again the food is great!!! Piano player/singer there and the music mix alittle unique, but aren't all piano bar style musicians??? But I can't knock the waitress and the food, it was great!!!
One of the locals recommended this restaurant. Decorated medieval theme. Our waitress was super nice. The food was good. Ron had chicken fried steak and I had a roast beef sandwich. Our server talked us into carrot cake even though we were full (lol). It was good as well.
The food is great. The staff are attentive. This day there were only two working so long wait times. But they warned us of the situation, so we sat on the patio and enjoyed the live music while we waited for our food.
Call in order ready on time. I was working and specifically asked if everything was in the bag and was told yes. Back to work, no - napkins, salt, pepper, ketchup or tartar sauce. Very frustrating ! Peep in service industry have hand out for tip but don't service.
Good food, daily specials and a nice patio. Been here many times and I recommend the steak, pasta dishes and fried catfish. It gets really hot inside during the summer months due to very limited AC. Hot!
Enjoyable experience. About half the crowd were locals, so it's not just a tourist trap. The place is a dichotomy between tourist trap and dive. My Belgium beers were very reasonably priced yet the ribeye was quite overpriced. I enjoyed everything! Some of the best onion rings I have had in a long time. Ribeye was cooked correctly and good flavor and quality. Service is slow in Dallas time but very speedy in Africa time. Overall a satisfying dining experience. If you are visiting Jefferson, add it to your list for dinner dining. They have a large variety of dishes and great beer and wine selections
Must of been there when something was going on in town, all tables reserved, but we were seated anyway....bartender was our waiter & she was way to busy to have a 4 top to wait on also....other helped her with us & ALL employees are nice...my food was warm the others were hot...all food was good

We love this little town! This eating establishment is pretty neat. They were so good to allow my little dog. There is outdoor seating but it was so hot and humid with not a breath of air. The food was fair. However, the mini meat pies as an appetizer were very good. My husband ordered the fried catfish and I had the grilled chicken. We would love to try another place next time.

Food was underwhelming. Beef was undercooked and bland. Catfish had a strong swampy fishy taste. High prices for the quality of food we received.
We leave in DFW metroplex and I should have known better. Service was good, not great and I paid 30 for a 6oz steak smashed into a 13 oz steak size but only 1/4 thick. Cook was good but steak was only eatable after a lot of salt and butter.
While the food looks good and sounds good, the taste does not match. The Creole Boudin Eggrolls looked good and had decent flavor. Just not Creole. They had too much cheese and not enough boudin. The crawfish poboy had 6 small tails and a bunch of lettuce and way too much mayo. The shrimp poboy was the same. The dragon burger looked and tasted fantastic, but for the amount that was there, it was not worth the money. Also, if a customer orders a soda. Don't wait until they are halfway through to tell them that it's a $1 refill. I am not a food critic, but I don't recommend the food. Maybe the people drinking behind the bar could recommend a good drink. For what I read and the 4.4 review, I expected better.
We stopped here for a late lunch on a sunny Saturday afternoon and had a Greek salad and a veggie pizza (I had chicken wings)z the food was yummy and the service decent. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend it.

I wasn't impressed with the food. I ordered the chicken fried steak. The piece of meat was tiny (maybe 3-4 oz) and slightly burnt. Definitely not worth $11. The service was friendly though.
Waited nearly an hour for my meal and when it arrived it was inedible and they had to remake it.....so another 20 minute wait. The staff only charged me half price luckily and the remade meal was excellent, only thing saving this from a 1 star review. Very disappointed.
I walk in after a football game on Friday night because the door is open and well, the sign says they’re open. The owners are setting at a table drinking and say we’re closed but how much you gonna spend? Well that depends I guess if you’re open. Well we’re closed. So come back tomorrow. I’ve never been treated so rudely. If you’re closed, lock the door!

We waited 15 minutes at a table. No one came and spoke to us. There were 5 staff members standing around and talking. We overheard all of them fighting about who would wait on us. I would NOT recommend eating here! They’re rude and obviously do not want to serve!
Extremely bad service we waited on our food for 2 and a half hours and during that time our waiter never came to our table to ask if we needed more drinks or tell us why it was taking so long. We were sitting outside and 2 hours in we noticed that it was about to rain so we needed to move inside when we moved inside it seemed like the staff were mad at us for moving spots. Food was not even worth it if you think about going here DONT.
Waiting 1hour and counting to get food for a party of 9, waitress with a nasty attitude and little comfort of us actually receiving the food only to say "sorry, theirs other party's and I'm getting everybody" yeah some real comfort....first time here not a great experience. Would've loved to hear " I apologize for the wait, I'll check on the food for you ,come back and give you a general time the food will be coming out". Better come here not hungry so when the food comes out......you are! ........still waiting got there at 7:04 p.m. got my food 8:18 pm ....check also took 30min to get...good luck 😬 Food was not great don't like writing bad reviews but for the food I received I was better off going to Dollar tree!
Horrible service with a rude waitress. I was literally chased out of the restaurant by the waitress (2x) who claimed we didn't pay, (we paid our check with a 100 it was 78) and when she realized we did there was no apology. When I called the manager he acted indifferent with the news, and offered no apology or explanation.
I didn't get to try because they wouldn't let us sit on the patio because it was too hot for them to come out and serve for just a few minutes of their precious time. It's not too hot for us. We have our dogs and we can't eat inside. Four adults we really wanted to try your food, and we're all actually hungry so I'm sorry you lost out...... Yeah, maybe you should update your web page and put not pet friendly in summer hours because we don't want to sweat. We came to Jeffersonspecifically eat at your restaurant. Thank you very much a 2-hour drive wasted. Now we get to drive back another 2 hours and find us something else that we can eat on the way back.
Hmm. Well. Not impressed. Very nice waitstaff. Nice atmosphere. Burned food. Ordered the vegetarian burger. Burned beyond recognition. Asked for a replacement that never arrived. Waitress disappeared as well. Another staff came over to explain that the burger was supposed to be burned. Being a vegetarian of 25 years, that was hard to believe. Not really impressed with Knightlight Theater. Try somewhere else if you are looking for vegetarian options.
My wife and i were recommended to come dine here by a local.... that turned out to be a big mistake. The one star is for the servers trying to get food out to everyone. Almost 25 minutes to get our drinks and food order taken. Another hour before the kitchen staff got around to cooking our food.. the waitress apologized and said that the order got lost with all the orders that came in after us. We came very, very close to leaving before our food was served. The burger was ok. The chicken sandwich meat was most likely from a bag and frozen and had almost no sauce. Our meal was NOT worth what we paid. I honestly had high hopes for this place based on the recommendation we got. Utterly disappointed. I rarely give bad reviews but this is a warranted exception.
I had a truly disappointing experience at this restaurant. While the food itself was quite good and our waitress provided attentive service, it was astonishing that two simple, bar-style dishes (catfish and deviled eggs) took over an hour to arrive. No guest should have to wait that long for something so basic. The biggest issue, however, was the manager’s behavior. He was neither professional nor courteous. Although I wasn’t expecting a grand apology, I did think a clear explanation would have been appropriate—especially since we paid our full bill and left a 20% tip. When I spoke with him, he mentioned the kitchen was short-staffed and busier than usual, yet he did nothing to alleviate the situation. Instead, he rudely suggested I take over as the chef if I was unhappy with the wait. You could just come and talk to the tables and warn about the waiting. It’s truly unfortunate because this town is beautiful, but an establishment like this can leave a terrible impression. I doubt losing a customer matters much to them, given their local regulars, but I want to warn others to be prepared for a long wait and the possibility of being treated poorly by an inept manager.
Came here for dinner bringing our family from out of town. The first red flag was the fact that our drink orders were all mixed up. They put a lime in my Weihenstephan instead of in the Dos Equis which ruined the flavor of my beer. After that it took 2 hrs to get our food. Then the food was cold. We had to go in to find the hostess to find out where our food was. Our waiter was no where to be found. We ran out of drinks about an hour and half in without anyone to order from. We wanted to give them a chance since it’s a small business but we definitely regret that. Highly recommended going anywhere else but here.
Good food and nice atmosphere: Edit: my family and used to love eating here but after recent experience I am lowering my rating. It took over two hours to get our food with no explanation or apology from the server. My wife had to find a manager to tell us that one of these cooks had called in sick. The manager was annoyed and short lipped with my wife for asking why we didn't have our food for an hour and a half. Our server let us all run out of drinks and we did not see him for almost an hour. They had seated in an uncovered area outside and the manager acted annoyed when we moved inside to get out of the rain. It is sad to see this place go down hill and the management seems not to care.
We were taken to our table by the hostess. 15 minutes later someone came to ask if we would like to order something else to drink besides water. We ordered drinks and food, since we ‘ve had enough time to go through the menu. No news in the 20 next minutes. Finally someone came to tell us that the beers were not cold. We got up and left. We’re not coming back anymore. That was not the first time, but definitely it’s going to be the last one.
Came in on Sat, Aug 30th @7pm and was met with a hostess who asked if we had reservations. She seemed snooty like she was guarding some kind of palace here. We’re from out of town and from the looks of the rundown outside appearance, we were kind of surprised they were required. We left and sat in the car, trying to reserve a spot on their website which didn’t work. We tried calling their # and got no answer. Needless to say we won’t be back.
