Great place to eat dance and bring famaly. Very crean great sevice and good food for good price. I love it and recommend it to enery one to try it.
I have breakfast here at least 3 times a week. Great place to eat good Mexican food.
You should try this place. It is part of a chain, but the chain is local, so it still counts as local food! I can't say much about their entire menu because I only got 2 tacos, but it was enough to give me the strong impression that the food is authentic SouthTex-Mex/Mexican. The tacos were filled, and they didn't skimp on what they put inside. I had a been and chorizo taco. It may not look glamorous, but beans aren't supposed to be. I also had a michocado a la Mexicana. Forgive me if I ate most of it before I took the picture.
Food is very good.Plates, Combos, specials are excellent. Service is good. The flour tortillas are not good. Too thin and small. Should be thick and fluffy. If my grandmother was still around she could sure teach them. I have never had flour tortillas like my grandmother 's anywhere and I am 70. I hadn't been here for breakfast in a while. Robert makes a dish called the Huarache. You may have it with whatever meat you want. No other restaurant, that I am aware of, serves it. I've had it in the evening several times. Taste and price is great !!! I've been wanting to try it with barbacoa. Robert has a new waitress. She is a young beautiful girl from Honduras. Her name is Stefanie. She speaks no English ( common on the Westside ). She is shy and speaks very softly. I am a Veteran. I am hard of hearing. I kept having to ask her to speak louder. I placed my order with queso fresco and pico de gallo. There is another waitress named Liz from Guatemala, she has been there for some time. Why ? I don't know. Her people skills are weak. She can be dismissive. She was sitting towards the back playing some gambling machines. There was another fellow, an older and a young couple there. Not busy. My order came and it was great !!! There was a problem getting coffee refills when Stefanie was occupied. I was looking for her and the other fellow told me she was in the restroom. I shouted to Liz, asking if she was getting paid to play on the machines. She replied, Yes. I told her to get me some coffee. I told the other fellow that Liz is probably the worst waitress on the Westside. He shrugged his shoulders. She may be the worst in San Antonio. Liz brought me coffee. I struck up a conversation with the young couple. They had a beautiful baby boy. Cute does not adequately describe him. I said so. The young man is a Navy Veteran. He served 6 years and has been out 1year and 2 months. We talked about adjusting to civilian life, children, and life in general. The young lady was friendly with a smile as big as Texas. As they were leaving, I got up, walked over and introduced myself. I had to give the baby boy a gentle squeeze of his belly. PRECIOUS !!! I wished them a long happy life and that their boy grow up big and strong ( like his dad ! ), be successful, and always be close to his parents. I sat back down, had a little more coffee, then proceeded to leave. When I got to the checkout, Stefanie informed me that the young couple had paid my bill !!! I wasn't able to thank them. Their parents must be wonderful people. Overall the experience was good. Food : Champion !!! Young couple ? : sent to me by God. I have been battling depression the last 12 years. Stefanie ? Needs people and customer service skills training. Liz ? : Needs to be kicked out the door .
The food's all right for the price we always get the special. The tea though the tea needs some work it tasted sour I ask if they can make a fresh one they told me t comes with the special which I already knew. But they never made fresh tea kind of a bummer because that's the whole reason we come here honestly. Not sure if we're going to come back there's a taco place right across the parking lot we're going to try next time. They should really do some food quality checking and the owner should come through and see what's going on
Decent meals with decent prices. Chips and queso are made fresh, which also means they are super greasy. The rice had to be served seperate because they still needed to make it. It was also a bit hard and crunchy. The rest of the food was quite flavorful and dinner plates are about $9, which is really great.
We got here on a Sunday completely empty. Our server was very quiet felt a little awkward. The whole atmosphere was quiet since we were the only ones. I ordered tacos.. the tortillas were really oily my hands were sticky. The meat was literally just fat. Super gooey and slimy I couldn’t eat it I had to return.
They had karaoke and the waiter was great but the food was horrible. I ordered gorditas de chicharron. The gordita was very thin, more like a tortilla split and the chicharron was like a big square passed through salsa.
I don't know about lunch and dinner but don't come for breakfast and the The beans are from can beans not made here
Food to old, cook person don't care for clients and owner, I'm do not recoment to visit. Owner has to check workers and food quality I'm went olone.
Carnitas were dry and tasted like they’ve been sitting there. The refried beans were from a can as well dry like if they’ve been sitting there, their rice was passable. I would not recommend this place at all… 4 dinner plates and 1 appetizer with drinks, seriously overpriced I only give one star and there was half a star I would’ve gave that and I seriously don’t know how there’s another location of like this one existing, Because location #1 needs to close down.. No Cap
I ordered 4 tacos to go (2 barbacoa,1 al pastor, 1 bean n cheese) 2 horchata waters and for everything was $26.10 I felt I got robbed and had to wait 30 minutes for my order. The barbacoa tacos were dry had no flavor and the tacos were bad served in terms of amount.
I, have not been inside since around 2007, and my two yr deceased daughter was with me and a waitress spilled an iced tea drink on my daughter's mid section to her lap, I was fuming. And always remember the occasion. Although the waitress apologized,I, have to admit the waitress did not drop the drink On purpose. The food I don't remember how it tasted.
I said you can’t find bad Mexican food in San Antonio; I stand corrected . You can and it’s here … The food was bland , nothing tasted fresh , tacos had no seasoning .. staff didn’t seem to care if we were there or not . People coming in trying to sell perfume to their customers, Two guys sleeping by the entryway .. I love authentic Good Mexican food ! I’ve never been disappointed as much ! My sons tacos de barbacoa tasted like corned beef hash meat from a can but greasier .. sorry but this is just bad !
UPDATE 2/3/22: In response to the owner's reply, you didn't notice how I did leave a tip on the receipt? Secondly, and most important, the double charge was a duplicate amount charged on my credit card. SO THAT MEANS THAT YOU AUTOMATICALLY CHARGE THE TOTAL COST OF THE MEAL AS "GRATUITY"????? The fact that you don't acknowledge the dishonesty can suggest that it stems from the top-down. Even more reason for my review. VERY DISHONEST CHARGES. AS CAN BE SEEN IN THE PICS, YOU CAN SEE THE DIFFERENCE IN CHARGES BETWEEN WHAT THE TICKET SAYS AND WHAT YOU END UP GETTING CHARGED. NOTE WHO SERVES YOU AND CHECK YOUR BALANCE IMMEDIATELY AFTER, OR, YOU CAN JUST GO ELSEWHERE.
