Avis sur Mule Barn Justin
This is a Harley ride destination/stop. We stop here and have a drink and sometimes an appetizer before heading to our next destination or home. The service is great and the food is good!!
First time trying this place got the steak finger basket with onion rings the food was outstanding service was awesome highly recommended.
We were there for a family party. Other than having only one person to take care of food and drink orders, everything went smoothly, food and drinks were good. Party space was very adequate for what we needed.
Shout out to D, Chase, Lauren, Morgan, Tim, Emily, Kennedy, Eddie, Austin, and Dax was there too. The vibes are amazing and the service is better. If you are looking for an after work relaxation spot, is this the place for you. Amazing people, vibes and atmosphere. Highly recommend, no notes!!!
The Mule Barn is an outstanding venue for gatherings, music entertainment, and just relaxing. Wonderful food with AWESOME service. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND The Mule Barn!!!
Moved here 7 months ago and have come here consistently ever since. Most friendly and welcoming people you can ask for in Justin Tx. The food is great. Bands are always great. Dee, madi, Emily, chase, morgan, Sam, Alondra, and the whole crew hold it down every single weekend and weekday.
Great spot for cold beer and awesome Armadillo Eggs! If you’re in Justin, The Mule Barn is the perfect local hangout. The Armadillo Eggs were absolutely amazing — perfectly crispy with just the right amount of spice and flavor. The beer was ice-cold and they had a solid selection on tap. The bar staff was friendly, fast, and made sure we were taken care of the whole time. Great vibes, good food, and even better service. Definitely a place I’ll come back to!
Holy moly! Fantastic food. Got the armadillo eggs, the local sausage, and the brisket tacos. Outta this world. The sound system was excellent. Every syllable heard of the ultimate singer, Sam Riggs. Morgan and Courtney never let the cold drinks go empty, even when we had to move seats 3 times (owner had reserved seats for friends and our table was chosen after we were seated🤪) The table next to us were a hand full (also friends of the owner who kept bumping us, moved their chairs closer to ours, blocked our view -we moved out from our table- blocked us in, touched my hubs knee, and not once did they say "excuse me" or "so sorry") (they also stood in front of me periodically and just talked it up, not even listening to Sam Riggs -we drove 2.5 hours, and it was my birthday gift to go see Sam Riggs.) , but Courtney handled them with kid gloves. Met some locals who go three times a week for tacos, pizza, and their Friday night date. So cool!
My wife and friend went there to eat, I just stopped by to say hi, and ended up eating what they could finish. It was pretty good food, service was a Lil slow. Lots of options to choose though. If I had known it was that good - I'd have gone there before!
I didn't have the typical experience here, I'm sure. We had a large gathering to honor my cousin that recently died. They catered fajitas in a large room in the back. But it was nice, they did a nice job. We may have overwhelmed the bar for a Sunday afternoon though. Parking was tight. Bathrooms were a trip to the past (a trough with ice in it... like old Cotton Bowl days!) I would go back for a more fun occasion though.
Cool hang out place with a stage for live music The front features an open, yet covered, deck with multiple types of seating for hanging out. Entering the front door presents an open room with banquets, tables, high tops, and bar top seating for their full liquor, beer, and wine offerings. Plenty of options to choose from. They even have a nice stage to the left which hosts a variety of live artists rotated and advertised on their website. As far as the experience, this is so quite obviously a local favorite and for good reasons. If you don’t venture past this first room ,you will miss the amazing surprises offered beyond… In a room behind the stage is a very large banquet/multi-use room (and apparently the kitchen is actually beyond that. This has the potential for various gatherings and can provide some privacy. Now, proceeding to the rear of the main dining is an annex with secondary bar(s), pool tables, and seating. It doesn’t stop there, as you can then venture into a warehouse-style room with 0-10 organized and measured corn hole set ups. I have heard that this is a favorite place for company outings, fun tournaments, and quite obviously some league play. I have personally never seen so many people show up with their own carry or roll-on bags with personal equipment. I don’t think I will be playing anyone for $ around here! We began with fried mushrooms and they were fresh and piping hot. So fresh and hot, there was a mandatory ‘cooling off’ period we needed to observe! Nice problem to have. We thoroughly enjoyed these little flavor explosions. We then ordered the Jack Burger and the Spur Burger. One with fries and one with rings. Both came in a basket with a cool take on the paper liners, which are printed like newspaper pages with articles on cooking recipes, fishing techniques, etc. Super fun. The Spur Burger had a good take on the combination of heat with jalapeños and sweet with bacon, grilled onions, mushrooms and Swiss. My only hesitation here is their choice of meat, which seemed a little grey (weren’t asked about cook temp preference) and was was a little off the mark for both of us. Pics show that quite well. Onion rings are a little too thick for my taste and the breading was way too thick (heavy) and mealy. Fries were just fine. This wasn’t an occasion for us to sample the bar and such local specials, but I am quite sure this is a big draw of the popularity they enjoy. I will have to try that part another time. This is worth additional visits to participate in all the activities I mentioned that I saw but didn’t have time to join. It is obviously public knowledge that this is an extremely dog friendly destination, and we witnessed multiple guests with their furry friends. Everyone is greeted joyfully when they walk through the door and the entire staff we encountered were super polite, friendly, and attentive. High marks for our server, Cayla!
I came here to support Big Joe Walker's acoustic show. Walking in as the only POC, of course, there are looks & stares... some friendly... others not so much. As long as respect is reciprocated, I'm good. Approaching what I assume to be the to-go counter, one of the male servers waived at me, welcoming me in. I really hate that I didn't catch his name, but he gave me phenomenal customer service the entire night!! Like... I never had to flag him down for anything. Even the food runners were very pleasant!!! I ordered the chips & queso and had them add fresh pico & jalapeños to give it that "rotel vibe." Otherwise, it would've just been chips & cheese. If there is a next time, I'll ask them to add ground beef if they have it. ⭐️ 4 out of 5 For my entree, I ordered the all-you-can-eat catfish and was pleasantly surprised!!!! Although a tad bit salty, it was well seasoned and fried to perfection with a cornmeal batter!!!!! Didn't care too much for the onion rings, but the hush puppies were more like hot water cornbread, and I enjoyed them!! ⭐️ 4.5 out of 5 For my drink, I had an Arnold Palmer with sweet tea and it was really good! ⭐️ 5 out of 5
Giant Supreme Pizza 10 bucks!! Atmosphere and service always on point. I was a little let down with the armadillo eggs. They are usually in a basket with a lot more sauce and half the pepper. We were not a fan of this new style. Yes it is more pleasing to the eye but they didn't taste the same.
Our first server blew us off for a larger table. Once we got the attention of another server and let her know what happened the service was great. First we ordered a fried pickle appetizer. They were light, crispy, and very tasty. They were so good we decided to order entrees. The chicken fried steak and fried onions were fried in different batter seemingly. The breading was soggy and tasteless. Annoyingly, the steak separated from the breading as soon as it was cut into. The catfish was good not great. The Cajun pasta was very good mainly because of the spicy, cheesy sausages. The prices are a little high for what we got.
My first time ever leaving a not-so-great review. It was our first time and we sat in the back room (which smells like a litter box). It took a bit for a waitress to acknowledge that we were there (acceptable things happen). We ordered our drinks, appetizer and meals at the same time. The appetizer and meals came at the same time and all of the food was cold. We ordered the Frickles (recommend if served hot), catfish (recommend if served hot), philly sandwich (recommend if served hot), and the brisket Mac n cheese (don't recommend even if it's hot). Good place to drink and watch a band or sports game.
We stood at the door for a while then I asked a snippy waitress if we sit anywhere or continue waiting to be seated. She told us to sit anywhere that is not reserved. We walked around not knowing we were the joke of the night since she knew that all the tables were reserved that night. We left since there were no tables that weren't reserved.
First of all, this place has no business calling itself a “Sports Bar.” It is more like a dive bar music venue, but sports should not be in their description. Yes they have a couple of televisions, but during the NCAA basketball tournament, they had the TVs all tuned to some ignorant, insulting web based “see how stupid my accident can be” channel. When we asked if they could change at least one TV to a basketball game we were told by our server that “people like this channel, so NO.” Speaking of that server, I asked her what beers were on tap and she said, “you know, the usual ones.” I didn’t know, I had never been there before, so I had to go up to the bar myself and read the tap handles. Then the beer itself was in a mug so wet as it melted, that we had to wipe the water running off our table ourselves. Goodness knows our wonderful server didn’t notice. As for the food, I had a Cajun Philly. Best described as cold, small serving of meat, hardly any cheese to be found on a stale bun. On the side were soggy fries. My wife had Brisket Nachos. Not terrible but too much fat on the brisket, again very little cheese, and again not very hot. Now in normal circumstances I would have sent my meal back but given the attentiveness of the server so far, we just wanted to get out and consider this just a big mistake in coming. I guess, if a musical act you like is scheduled for there it would be a good place to go and have a drink and listen, but if food or service is on your mind, I say no.
