It was even better than I expected. The food was excellent in both taste and quality. I was a bit worried it might be too salty, as many steakhouses have this typical issue for us, but it turned out to be seasoned perfectly. The service was attentive, and the staff worked well together across the floor. I could also tell the manager was present and on top of everything, which made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable.

You can never go wrong with Saltgrass as a great alternative for lunch or dinner. Upon our visit, I ordered a 10 oz. Prime Rib and the steak was done to perfection. Meat was juicy and well-seasoned with a slight charbroiled crust on top. My wife ordered a Chicken Laredo from their lunch menu and it did not disappoint. Chicken breast was juicy and it played well with its side of garlic mashed potatoes. Saltgrass' ambiance is elegant with a flair of Western-style decor. Table service was top-notch as well. The only thing I would suggest (I'm really nitpicking here) is to brighten the illumination inside just a bit as I find it somewhat too dim for my taste. Overall a very nice experience and highly recommended!

Dylan was wonderful and patient with my mother, who doesn't eat beef. He made great recommendations for our first time and was attentive to our preferences. The food was so delicious and portions were unexpectedly larger than we expected. We had a wonderful meal and happily look forward to having the little bit we brought back. The wine bottle we ordered and had opened was placed in a sealable bag to avoid spills and any trouble with law enforcement.

Yes this is a chain, therefore the 5 stars is in context of chains. But boy, they delivered. It was 9pm on Saturday and this was the only Saltgrass that would close at 10. The space is well appointed, it was, as expected for a suburb restaurant at 9 pm, quite empty. We were nevertheless served with care, without rush and the server was really friendly. We had an excellent trio of filet mignon, cooked to perfection. The idea is so good, I am surprised it has not caught on earlier elsewhere. It allows you to try 3 different sauces with your filet mignon cut in three pieces of smaller size. Just awesome. And a bottle of Prisoner at $60, that’s as rare as a white elephant. There was a hiccup with our Caesar salad which could have been handled better but this will not prevent us to come back. This is not a high-end steakhouse as we have plenty in Houston, but the quality was excellent, better than some of those pretending high-end restaurants that cannot even do a proper bearnaise, and, at a third of the price, this casual steakhouse is the best we tasted in the midrange. We will be back, often. Pappa’s Steakhouse for birthdays and Saltgrass for casual, that’s how good they were.

What a great time we had. The food and service was right on. They have a great menu to choice from. We meant my brother and sister in law there for our Christmas lunch. The only thing that I didn't like is where we were seated at. Just about every other time that a waiter would come by our table they would cut the corner to tight and hit my chair with their foot or the tray that they were carrying. But the service and the food were great. We will come back.

16 Steaks cooked perfectly for all of our large party guests. Appetizers and sides were great. Server was excellent.

The moment you pull up into the parking lot you can smell and almost here the sizzle of the amazing steaks that are served here. My son and I had Rachel as our waitress. She went above and beyond to give us amazing quality service. We never got the chance to ask for anything as she was always there with her assistant waiter one step ahead getting us extra butter, another strawberry lemonade, another beer. The steaks were cooked to juicy perfection. I sometimes read other reviews about things being pricey and I must say you get what you pay for. I spent $125 for two and it included fresh Cesar salad, fresh baked bread and butter, two main entrees 16oz ribeyes with shrimp and loaded baked potatoes, one pomegranate mojito, a tall draft beer, a strawberry lemonade, and last but not least an amazing slice of Cheesecake to go. All of this plus the treatment of service that is one of a kind will keep you coming back with loved ones as faithful customers. I know I will come back and enjoy another meal at Saltgrass Steak House. Bon Appetite!

After really bad experience we went back to Salt Grass Steakhouse to give them another try. It was well worth it. Jessica was our wait staff. She was so polite and gave recommendations. I recommend this place. The customer service was not too bad. He didn't go above and beyond our expectations since we were one of two tables there at lunch time. The gumbo was somewhat disappointing. I don't recommend the lunch box at all just get what you want anywhere else on the menu. There is a cute bar and the entire place is quaint, not as big as most Landrys I've attended. I would eat here again.

I went to celebrate dinner with my family for my father's 65th birthday. The food was delicious: our steaks were perfectly cooked and seasoned. We normally go to the bar here for a more personalized service and opt for what I call bar bites (smaller portions to sample during HappyHour). The steak tenderloins, fried mushrooms and seafood fondue are the favorites so far. We can always order off the menu too. Of course, there's a wide selection of beverages to choose from. The service is great. All of the staff is friendly and knowledgeable/helpful. We happen to be there through the week and are mostly served by Justin Lopez and or Rachel. Justin seems to have memorized our favorite beverages and foods. His service is consistent even with a full bar. The atmosphere is very good, the lighting is not blinding, there is a couple of tvs to watch, a couple of gas lanterns with hypnotic flames and lots of bottles of libations to choose from. There's usually a variety of background music playing and it not too loud. We also opted for the rewards card, which works at all Landry's locations throughout the country.

This location was very accommodating. We had a group of 17 and the restaurant sat us together. The server we had did a fantastic job. The food was very good! Coke products sold here. Dr. Pepper is available too. As well as sweet and unsweet tea.

The second time I visit this location. The waiting time was less than a minute. Prior to this visit, it was over 45 minutes wait, not this time. The fire place was really cozy and the table service was excellent. The food was on point with the steak and flavor. The manager came over to check. My wife and I just left the Saltgrass Steak House in Katy, TX. We ordered a fried mozzarella appetizer, but it didn't arrive on time. Will, our waiter, served us our soups and main courses. When I pointed out to Will that the appetizer hadn't arrived, he checked with the kitchen and said he would bring it to our table shortly, and he apologized. A few minutes later, the manager, Frank, came to our table, offered a sincere apology, and emphasized that he would make sure our appetizer was ready as soon as possible. And it was, but not only that, Frank came back to our table to tell us that the appetizer was on the house. This is what I call customer obsession! My wife and I were delighted with this display of exceptional customer service. Needless to say, the dinner was delicious! Thank you, Frank and Will, for the outstanding service.

I started with a Long Island Tea, which was okay... a little on the weak side. I ordered the Cajun Ribeye with Sweet Potato Fries and a Caesar salad. My dinner companion had the Sirloin with Gulf Shrimp, a loaded baked potato, and a house salad. The Sirloin was prepared medium rare and was tender & juicy, but had just enough gristle to be a little annoying. The potato was great. My Ribeye was prepared medium and was good, flavorful & tasty. The fries weren't so good, but I wanted to try something new & different. They had little taste and reminded me of the can of shoestring fries I ate during my childhood. The service was really good. The wait staff were attentive and checked on us frequently. The check came quickly, but we didn't feel pressured.

Food was good we had redfish and salmon. Salmon was overcooked. We were there at 1:30. Bill was $80 no alcohol .No appetizers. One lemonaid. That's alot.. up from last year.

She was very polite and asked many questions that went along with our needs. Ceasar salad was good, brisket hamburger, okay. The fries had absolutely no salt. 6oz. filet was cooked perfectly, and the chocolate cake was very dry. Overall, it's similar to a Longhorn Steak House. Very busy, and lots of people. I wish the seating was a little more private. We felt like we were experiencing other people's experiences. It's not our cup of tea, but everyone has different tastes.

The food here is good. The steaks are juicy and so is the grilled chicken. There was some bad lettuce in the wedge salad though and service was a bit slow especially considering it wasn’t overly busy at the time. But overall a good restaurant and would come back.

The place was very busy but there was no wait time to get seated, the bread and butter appetizer was delicious. The medium rare 12oz Pat's Ribeye steak with sauteed mushrooms and onions was very flavorful and tender but it was lukewarm, I asked the waiter to reheat it, when he brought the steak back it was warmer (I would have preferred it hot) but noticed they removed the sauteed mushrooms and onions, bummer! I was hungry so I still ate it, the sides of baked potato soup, Mac n' cheese and broccoli were delicious and at the proper temperature, but the main dish could be improved a lot by serving it HOT. Other times I have visited there were no issues with the steak temperature.

The service, the attention was good but the problems were that the server didn’t inform of the extra-cost of sides and sauces that were charged without telling us that there were extra cost. Managers should do a better training making sure the servers info & very clear of ANY extra-cost to the clients BEFORE charge anything

It was my husband and I’s first time in Texas so we wanted to try a not so chain steakhouse. Chose here based on reviews but I will say, I was extremely disappointed. The atmosphere was really really loud, I could barely hear my husband across the table. the staffs really long introduction is overwhelming then before we even get appetizers, they are already trying to sell us memberships. I ordered the NY strip and he got a t-bone, both with truffle fries. my steak was ok, a little over cooked, half of my husband steak was raw, not medium rare like we both requested but they were also bland. I have never had to add salt and pepper to my steaks in any restaurant before. The order of fries looked like it was portioned for a child. The only thing we really thought was good was the brisket queso app. Asked for sweet tea with mango, It tasted like unsweetened tea and not flavoring. The waitress was aware the steak was raw, only offered to put the steak that was already half eaten, back on the grill, which I think is unsanitary so we refused. Floor manager came over to take our plates and we made him aware the steak was raw and not how we wanted; looked at the steak and my husband with a face of disgust and walked off. The waitress just dropped the bill on the table and walked off. The waitress and the floor manager were both aware that we were disappointed, we never asked for a discount, we paid our bill in full, but didn’t even offer as much as an apology, which made the experience horrible. I would not come here again. Update: the general managers from 2 different locations in the area did reach out. The restaurant overall is great and I do appreciate how fast they reached out to correct the issues and apologize for the lack of service we received the night of our visit. Hospitality is huge for me so I do appreciate how fast this was resolved. We were invited back by the GM but unfortunately we have left town. We will visit again for a second chance with this location

Food was good. 2 stars? This was the day before I started my fitness challenge. I really expected a pretty good steak(ribeye?).... It was ok. We enjoyed and had a good time. May try again after our challenge is over. I will mention our server deserved 5 stars!!!!

This feels like the classic case of mom giving you another chance...and you mess it up again. A few weeks ago, I visited Saltgrass Steakhouse (21855 Katy Fwy, Katy, TX) and ordered the Range Rattlers grilled. They were completely charred and not edible, though the manager was understanding and offered a $15 credit or replacement. It’s disappointing to have such inconsistency from one visit to the next. I really wanted to love this meal, but Saltgrass needs to tighten up its quality control to match its reputation.

Walked in and it wasn’t busy, maybe 10-12 tables occupied, so we was seated right away. I noticed that there were many servers standing around, so I didn’t think that the wait time for service should have been long. We were given a menu a menu by the hostess and she said someone would be right with me but they didn’t. It took around 20 minutes for someone to come say something to us and when they did, it was a server from another section that came by and asked if we had been helped yet. I said no and he apologized and asked for our drink order. After taking the drink order, he said that our server would be with us shortly but it still was another 5 minutes or so before he came. A wedge salad was ordered with no bacon, which was reiterated to the server twice and it came out with bacon. One of the entrées was the chicken fried steak and it came out without seasoning and dry. The server would creep by and wait for us to ask for something instead of asking himself, as if he was scared. Told him about the chicken fried steak and he sent a manager over. I told the manager about the complete experience since we were seated and he only addressed the food, not the service. He took the dollar amount of the steak off the ticket and went to look at the time stamp of when we were seating and when service started. He came back and said that it was never entered in the system. So I ordered range rattlers, which I love, but they tend to make me sick at the stomach. These were tasty, even though they were a tad over cooked. The last time I ordered in Dallas, I didn’t have any issues, so I ordered some today. Well needless to say, that night into the next morning, I was sick and I won’t be ordering them again. So, the experience at this Salt Grass was terrible. I don’t know if this review will reach anyone or if anyone cares but I’ve shared what I I’ve went through.

Bad wait staff and just bad food. For being part of the Landry’s chain of restaurants really this must be the bottom of the list. The chicken fried steak was bland and flavorless. My husband had the ribeye which was over salted and covered in butter. Just not tasty at all. Soup was salty and the bread was fine but nothing amazing. Service was bad. If you don’t want to work, that’s fine. Just don’t. Overall a disappointing meal. Won’t be back.

Not sure what happened with Saltgrass. Drinks are not good anymore, margaritas barely have alcohol in it, Old Fashion was bad and sweet, little bit of Bourbon, Macaroni and cheese that we order for my son, is the regular that you get in a box at the store. Very disappointed. Not sure if I will be back here.

I gave one star for the green beans. Ordered a 9oz filet mignon rare through doordash. A piece of shoe leather was delivered. I didn't have a bite of it. Ate the greenbeans and shared my husbands steak. We brought the steak to manager Frank Scolari (sp?) who responded that it's a Doordash problem. Apparently, Saltgrass has doordashers cooking the steaks??? Do better. Hire cooks that know how to cook and managers with customer service skills.

Called to place an order to go picked up the food and when we got home my pregnant wife was about to eat her salad only to realize there was mold on her salad tried calling the restaurant to speak to a manager and was placed on hold for 15 minutes multiple times never got to speak to a manager to get the issue resolved

I’ve given this location more than one chance, but after today I think I’m done. Back in May, I treated a family member to a meal here and to my surprise found horseflies in my salad. To their credit, it was handled quickly. Fast forward to Father’s Day, and we had an amazing experience with great food. Unfortunately, today was the last straw. I ordered the Oscar salmon, and while the appetizer and salad were delicious, my entrée was a complete letdown. The butter on my sweet potato wasn’t even melting because the potato itself was ice cold and hard. My salmon was also cold. At that point, I had no desire to continue. What made it worse was the manager’s response. Instead of taking responsibility or showing care, she just pointed fingers at the food runner. I wasn’t looking for excuses, I just wanted accountability and a meal served properly. Instead, I left frustrated and disappointed. The only highlight was our waiter, Alejandro. He was polite, professional, and went above and beyond with his hospitality. I still tipped him well because his service was outstanding and not the issue at all. Sadly, even with great servers like Alejandro, cold food, poor quality control, and management that deflects instead of owning the problem make it clear this location isn’t worth returning to.

I ordered an old fashion and realized there was a fly in my drink after drinking half of the drink. The manager just apologized and removed the drink from my total bill. Nothing to rectify the fact that I have just almost drank a full drink with a bug in it. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy!!

Don't bother! Saltgrass (especially Katy, TX), has lost my business. Management and customer service have lost their way. Don't waste your time or money. There are plenty of other great steakhouses that know how to treat their customers.

I don’t normally leave reviews. But we arrived Saturday December 13th like 2 minutes before 11am. No problem we understood we had to wait. It wasn’t open open even though the front doors were open. Went to use the ladies room. By 11:15 we still were not seated. We asked the host how much longer would it be before we were seated and she’s like the manager is having a staff meeting so we don’t know. So needless to say we left and there was no point in talking to the manager since he was in a meeting. So we drove down the road and ate at Outback. They lost out on a $100 table.

My girlfriend was working a shift at the Saltgrass Steak House on Katy Freeway when a customer walked up and kissed her on the cheek without consent. She reported it immediately. Management did NOTHING. Instead of protecting their employee, they pressured her to keep working and downplayed the assault. When I showed up demanding answers, the manager Greg still refused to document the incident, refused to remove or ban the man responsible, and acted like it was no big deal. So I started warning customers walking in and out—because if management won’t protect their own staff from harassment, people deserve to know what kind of environment they’re walking into. The response? Greg told me to leave the restaurant and threatened to call the police rather than address the actual problem. Saltgrass should be ashamed. Employees aren’t disposable. Saltgrass Steak House - Katy, Texas I have eaten at many restaurants in the Katy area, and I can say with certainty that my recent visit to Saltgrass was the worst dining experience I have ever had. From start to finish, it was a cascade of failures. Let's start with the **service**. It was agonizingly slow. We waited nearly 20 minutes just for someone to take our drink order. Our server was absent for the majority of the meal, and when they did appear, they seemed rushed and uninterested. Empty glasses sat on our table for what felt like an eternity. When our **drinks from the bar** finally arrived, they were wrong. A simple margarita tasted like sour mix with a whisper of tequila, and an old fashioned was missing its signature sweetness and complexity. It was clear the bar was either understaffed or the staff was untrained. The **food**, however, was the true disaster. My steak, while cooked to the right temperature, was barely warm, as if it had been sitting under a lamp for 10 minutes before being brought out. But the real shock came with the "special" fish. It was blatantly **undercooked** in the center. The texture was unpleasantly gelatinous and cold, making it completely inedible. Sending back a dish is one thing, but being served something that is a genuine health risk is another. When we brought these issues to the attention of who we believed was the **management**, the situation went from bad to unprofessional. The individual was dismissive and seemed completely uninformed. They could not answer basic questions about the ingredients in the dishes or properly explain the preparation of the special they were featuring that night. How can you manage a restaurant if you don't know the menu? Their handling of the situation was appalling—no genuine apology, no attempt to make things right, just a defensive and flustered attitude. We left hungry, frustrated, and out a significant amount of money. I have no idea how this establishment has such a reputation, because our experience was an absolute masterclass in how **not** to run a restaurant. Save your time and your money. There are dozens of better steakhouses in Katy where the food is cooked, the drinks are correct, and the staff acts like they care. We will certainly never be back.

My husband and I came to this location tonight for dinner as we had a day off work together. Everything started out great, the server Stormy was amazing! The manager came and checked on us before any food hit the table. My sirloin, ordered medium, came out rare/raw. The fat inside was still white and I couldn’t cut into it. Stormy was great and took it back to the kitchen. The manager came by and practically threw the dish on the table and walked off - didn’t bother to make sure it was okay. The sirloin ended up being wildly overcooked and burnt but it was better than before so I ate what I could of it (about 4 of the 8 ounces were left and edible) a random waiter dropped our check at the table so we paid and left. Very surprised considering this is supposed to be a nicer dinner establishment. Extremely disappointing considering we spent $100 on a dinner I couldn’t eat

Came to have dinner with my wife an son an when where seated we where asked if we where apart of Landry rewards which we are so we provided our number like we usually do at all locations we eat at the manger’s Rachael proceeds to walk over an ask for id an to see card when this has never been part of their protocol at any location we’ve been to all you do is give you number look up account end of story but no we where interrogated like we weren’t who we said we are in professional an will never come to this trash location again

Very disappointing experience. I ordered a full rack of ribs to-go for my son, but when I opened the box it looked like half a rack at best. I called the manager and even sent a photo, but she insisted that was their “full rack” and refused to do anything about it. On top of that, the ribs were overcooked and tasted burnt. My son loves ribs and usually finishes them easily, but he couldn’t even get through the second bite. I’m a regular customer of Saltgrass, especially at the Willowbrook location, but this Katy location was a big disappointment. For comparison, a full rack at LongHorn is nearly double this size and far better quality. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning to this location.

Got whatever these are as chicken strips for my kids to go order. They’ll pass anything on to kids thinking we won’t notice. Chicken was basically breaded tendons and cartilage. BE CAREFUL!! AVOID THIS PLACE

Quality of the steaks has gone down drastically. Ordered 6oz filet last Saturday and it was overcooked and extremely dry. Manager brought out smother one the exact same way. Even if cooked properly there is no way that tiny steak is a $30 steak. Meanwhile they charged me for the potato and salad we ate while awaiting on our food to be prepared twice. We ate them and we owed it but if I owned that business I would have tried to make sure the customer returned later by comping everything in an effort to try to keep their business. Only Outback and Texas Roadhouse from now own. We have been loyal Landry's select club members for years. We came back the following Monday night for a birthday party that had already been scheduled and tried the chicken breast. It was delivered to our table extremely dry and OVERCOOKED. No more!

Wow, this place is going down fast. We frequently do family birthdays and special occasions here. We were a table of 8 people, and while our waiter was friendly, he kept missing items and requests. He couldn't seem to pry himself away from the waitress station. He finally noticed we needed drink refills about 10min after I had paid the bill and we were boxing up our leftovers. Now, if you think the service was lackluster, wait till you read about the service. Not one single entree was worth the price. Three steaks were overcooked, and tough like shoe leather. Shrimp was overcooked and cold when it arrived. Mash potatoes were cold. Appetizers we actually quite good. My chicken fried steak was pure gristle. Amazingly, our water completely failed to notice that nobody was eating their entree. We boxed them up and took them home.
