ETA: This is our favorite Dallas location. The food here is always on par, and the service here is the best. ........... Delicious as always! Food and service are always great!
Nothing beats a Dallas Hot Weiner. Counter fills up quickly at lunch time, but that's no surprise. Great food at very reasonable (cash only) prices.
Early morning breakfast is always good, and sometimes I slide in a couple of hot dogs
Hot fresh food for very low prices! They are cash only, but have an ATM inside. The staff is all really friendly.
Please eat a cheese burger with sauce on it! Please order fries with American cheese and sauce on it, you will become a routine customer. Dallas sauce to go for cook outs at home!!!! Epic
Really enjoyed a reasonably priced burger and fries served up hot and steamy!
Good Dawgs, not necessarily the best as I prefer grilled, but the are a usual stop in my eating world. Alway great friendly service
OMG is all I can say. The staff was great. The prices are perfect and the food was well beyond Delicious
Service was very friendly, food got out very quickly, and it tasted great! Also, very good prices and a nice atmosphere.
A staple if kingston. Been coming here since I could eat s hot dog. Thr sauce is some of the most delicious things ever placed upon a hot dog and fries.
The very best hot dogs anywhere..bar none! A must go to plave in Kingston NY 2 locations ..Broadway and North Feont St.
Great place for a hot dog. Great staff at all locations. Best hot dog sauce around.
They have the best sauce for their hot dogs, definitely a place to stop for a quick bite if visiting uptown kingston.
Always the best place to celebrate milestones or just throw down a dog or two!! FF & Chx salads too!!
Great place. Always friendly service. Good food at cheap prices
Best hot dogs ever. All the locals that have moved away make it their first stop when they come back to town
Great hot dogs with sauce! Happy place..clean..food was delicious!
Great place to eat me and my kids love it we go at Least 2x and week or more my daughter loves Dallas.
This location is always excellent!!! I have been going here since I was a kid and has never changed
I love it great place for lunch or dinner and there fast with good service I go at least 3 times a week
Great price, friendly staff, prompt service and kid friendly. What more can I say? Definitely recommend!
The best hotdogs this side of the Mississippi. Awesome place, good people, bar is practically next door.
Delicious for over 25 years for me!
Good food prepared to order. Friendly people and great prices.
Best hot dogs in the area, that I have tried. Go there every time I am in Kingston NY.
A great hot dog! Grew up getting these as a treat. I try to stop in here or in saugerties whenever I'm in the area.
This has been an institution in Kingston(uptown)for years. The quality has been consistent as long as I can remember. Price is very friendly for the dogs as well. I love this place and is the main location I frequent when I return to the Hudson valley. 👍😉 yummy. Just a heads up. The uptown shop is not Handicapped friendly as it is in an older building store front. The other locations have much easier handicap access.
Awesome historic restaurant. It's been I business 90 years, and it's easy to see why. The menu is very simple, yet everything is amazing. Hot weiners were delicious and perfectly cooked, and not overly salty as I find other hot dogs. You must try the secret sauce, apparently it's pretty popular and it's easy to see why. At first glance, it makes you think, "chili", but it ain't chili. It's unlike anything else, and it's the perfect commitment to a hot dog or cheese fries, so "secret sauce" is good enough for me, no further questions!
Never can you go wrong with Dallas when you need a quick bite or to hit that craving for "the sauce" they're almost always busy, but even then, fast, friendly and the food is great. The only wait if for a seat, but always well worth it. No better place in Kingston to stop for a quick bite!
If you want a really tasty Texas weiner this is this is the place to go.The food delicious the hot dog sauce you want to take a quart home with you . its great on french fries and hamburgers. the food is priced reasonably and the service was great. You can have dinner there and breakfast 😋 It is family owned you have a family atmosphere.Good food.Great conversation
THE ABSOLUTE BEST!! We live 2+ hours away & will plan traveling/trips around being able to stop n eat here. The DALLAS Dogs are my favorite but EVERYTHING is Delicious!!
My favorite place in Kingston! Best hot dog I've ever had. Prices are unbelievable, portions are generous; service is great, whole establishment is extremely clean.
Always a great spot for lunch. I love how they make the egg salad fresh in front of you 🙃
What can you say bad about a Dallas dog? The sauce is awesome, the staff is friendly, and the prices are good. It don't matter what one of their locations you go to they are always the best hot dogs around
Been going here for many years. Great food and great people.
Love this type of place. Cheap, greasy, and hearty. Greasy spoon dining at its finest. I'm always keen on seeing how a new diner's eggs over/bacon/fried potatoes combo is, but here I also wanted a Dallas Hot Weiner. Luckily, the waitress suggested the hot Weiner as an appetizer. A+++
"Dallas Hot Weiners" is the specialty - a boiled frank topped with mustard, finely diced onion and a house made meat sauce on a steamed hot dog bun. Whenever in Kingston, I can't help stopping in at the couner for one or two accompanied with a side of crispy (never greasy) Onion Rings. Makes for a satisfying, inexpensive lunch and service is always quick.
Dallas Hot Weiners rocks! So good! Dallas sauce on a burger is great too! You can also get some nice lunch counter style breakfast here as well as some nice desserts. Yum!
Don't pay attention to any of those 2 stars ratings. These are 5 star weiners. Their sauce is amazing with the juicy dogs. Easy eat 3 or 4.
I've lived in quite a few places that had their locally owned "Dallas hot", or version of one. I've also drove truck for over a decade. I've yet to find a place that can do a Dallas hot dog better!
Went yesterday for the first time in at least 10 years and it's was like nothing ever changed. Great staff, great food, and affordable prices. One of the last nostalgic strongholds of Uptown Kingston.
I have been going here since I was 5 years old, this place is soo yummy, the best hot dog sauce I put it on my cheeseburger and fries ,you must try it, everything is constantly awsome
Hasn't changed in 60 years. Awesome dogs with everything on steamed buns. Burgers with sauce and onions too. 2nd location in Saugerties also. Reasonable prices!
The best comfort food in my town. I go here any time I need a pick-me-up that only an excellent hot dog can give.
Best place for a quick burger or dog. Friendly staff. Not fancy by any means, but it is a nice humble place to sit down with friends/family.
Simply the best sauce on a weiner in the world. How good are they? I could eat six but hold myself to two. I've been going here for years.
Prices are very reasonable and the food is delicious! And the staff? Super friendly. We went to lunch here during a rush period and everybody was very friendly and speedy!
I’ve been coming here since I was a kid (30+ years). Hot dogs have not changed and are always delicious. A staple in the area and a must visit whenever in the area.
So, where I am from we have George's Coney Island, which is a Hot Dog institution... Not to be replicated, and only to be savored and delighted by. Dallas Hot Weiner is to upstate New York what Coney Island is to Worcester. The best way to enjoy these dogs is "house style" by which I mean diced onions and the house sauce... Different in flavor, but similar in execution, these dogs a in a word scrumdiddlyumptious.. I will be returning each time we are in Kingston
Best sauce hands down. Has been open for 90 years. Food is great. Staff is super friendly. Never disappoints. Not only do they have the best hot dogs with the famous secret sauce they also great fries burgers and even breakfast. Stop by the north front street location.
Great consist dogs!! And I know the secret ingredient. 😉
Friendly staff, good service. Absolutely deserve a try if you are around. The taste of the hot dog wiener was pretty unique, of course in a good way. Would go there and try out other things as well if I visit Kingston again.
My favorite hot dog place. Staff is always very welcoming and helpful. Been trying new things on their menu, don't skip over the homemade salads! I love their macaroni salad. They make great milkshakes and burgers too.
Stopped in 30 minutes before close and the only people there. Was warmly greeted and not rushed at all. The sauce on the red hots is fantastic. Standard menu, with very reasonable prices. Everything cooked perfectly. The vanilla malt was a real treat.
I have loved this place ever since I was a little kid. Getting a hot dog and fries at Dallas Hot Weiners was always a treat for me. I flew in from Austin, TX yesterday evening and the first place I wanted to go to eat was at the Dallas Hot Weiners shop. The place is exactly as I remember it and the food is just as good as I remember. It was wonderful to reminisce with the gentleman behind the counter about the restaurant. Lunch today was a wonderful childhood memory for me and this place is the best.
Loved it! A true slice of Americana! Family run business that is lime stepping back in time. It's nice to see a local restaurant doing well. All food was served fast , hot and flavorful. The owner and servers were also great!
This place is great for hot dogs, burgers and finger foods. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. Great prices for what you get. They have table service, counter service or you can call your order in ahead and take it to go.
Most perfect BLT I've ever had!! No one ever listens to the specifics I ask for and they got it exactly!! I know the hot dogs are the best in the area also!
One of several go-to places in Kingston for a quick bite. DHW is great!
Simple tasty filling food in a casual atmosphere but the highlight was the friendly server Lupe!
Coming here is like stepping back in time! Just good hot dogs, low prices, delicious shakes. To the point! And quick service, too!
Baklava was a special dessert when my family visited this location. I highly recommend it. Chocolate shake was also to die for. Service was friendly and welcoming. Atmosphere gave an old timey diner feeling. Food was cheap, and delicious. This place is great for children too.
Went today for lunch. I had not been there in a few years. Used to go with Wife and Kids weekly on Saturdays. I wish I lived closer but was in Area to get work done at Nissan Dealer. I was happy to find that it is still excellent . Excellent Service, Excellent simple well prepared food. Had Multiple Dogs with Sauce which is still great. Also a few Cheese burgers and excellent shoestring fries. Just remember cash only. I hope to go back again sooner than later. I walked out with a smile. I hope they continue to be excellent for many years to come :)
Dallas Hot Wiener's has been a staple of Kingston for at least 5 decades. The sauce is iconic and one that tries to be duplicated. Every time I come back to visit my home state, it's not complete without a trip to the original Dallas Hot Weiner location. I love that they maintain the nostalgic appearance of the restaurant and the food tastes exactly like I remember as a child.
Dallas Hot Wieners is a nice find on my way to New York City. I randomly found it on Google Maps and I'm so happy to have dropped by. I really liked the old diner vibe. The service was very friendly and the prices are very affordable. The Dallas Hot Wieners secret sauce is so good and can go with anything. It's a little bit spicy, but you get used to it. Take note that they are cash only.
This is my 3rd visit to a Dallas Hot Weiners. First was solo as I happened to pass location in Saugerties NY. As a self-proclaimed "Foodie", once I saw the steam table IN THE FRONT WINDOW with ONLY the weiner accoutrements, it was a clearly a sign that I needed to try this place! I ordered 2 of the Dallas Hot Weiners. I think $2.95 each? Love the price point! The server behind the old skool diner counter suggested that the meat sauce was the key and that I should try the shoestring fries with cheese and this sauce. I did and all of what I ate that day was EXCELLENT! The signature meat sauce (not a chili really) was thin but held together the finely ground beef that was suspended in the sauce. It all flowed over the DELICIOUS low-temp-seeped "Dirty Water Dog" which are unique because much like the traditional NYC version, the weiners sit in just-under-boiling water all day, not grilled/caramelized on a foil lined flattop! This traditional NYC method of heating evenly and thoroughly throughout the dog, is slowly disappearing (I understand this is a preferred method in OHIO though, but this is in NY). Unlike NYC these dogs are NOT super salty and are about 175% thicker and slightly shorter than the NYC counterpart. The dogs does not poke out of the bun :( The flavor of the weiner is perfect for my palate. Great mild garlic undertone, enough onion powder and much much lower on the salt. No black pepper or overly sharp seasoning in the recipe? It was more reminiscent of my favorite Germán style veal white sausage. REALLY GREAT! Now add that runny, Cincinnati/Greek style meat sauce (aka "Chili?") with its hints of cinnamon and nutmeg? Some finely minced white onion and muddy brown mustard...GREAT dog bite ever and completely unique to the UPSTATE community. This experience felt like this tradition street-food was somehow HOME-COOKED, but still a treat to experience out-of-my-home. If that makes any sense. No need to chase my NY Dog with Papaya to "Aid in Digestion" that is a requirement at my now 2nd favorite Gray's Papaya in the City because this version is OH SO gentle to my stomach and in fact made it feel SO VERY HAPPY! My 3 visits (solo, brought friends to grab & run, solo again this time) were great with my friends saying it was the best dog they have had in a while (3 people all said same and they are foodies too!). Def. try this place please! *NOTES: staff treated us like valued customers and as I expected is delightfully Family-owned...It shows! This has no association with DALLAS TX. and there are (3) locations in MID-STATE NYC. I tried the burger which was made using DINER-STYLE using a pre-formed patty as was the beef Gyro/Pita. BUT much like the GREEK-OWNED Diners of the region, prepared to perfection by the Greek cooks. I felt that these options maybe distracting from the star and maybe need not be on the menu. Feeling that the DALLAS HOT WEINER has the potential to be 3 item menu rarity, Dog their way, Chili-Cheese Fries + maybe a signature drink...I digress. LOVE IT!
Every time I come to Kingston, I make sure to always take a minute or two to stop in and get a hotdog or two from here. The people who work here are always friendly and the prices are awesome, and the food is great! I am thoroughly converted to this place! Definitely recommend!
Local area mainstay offers consistent menu with speed and quality. "Do a few things and do them well"
Cheese fries awesome burgers are good didn't try secret sauce or hot dog
Always good food and service clean and reasonably priced something for everyone
What a gem this place is. Value packed menu offers a great selection. Their house Dallas hot dog sauce is incredible, put it on everything. Meal for two came to $20, which included a malted shake.
It's not a fancy place, but the food here is always hot and fresh and the people who run the place are wonderful. It's a pretty popular place, though, so it can get pretty crowded (particularly on Friday evenings around 5PM).
Same for over 50 years. Dog with everything, steamed buns what's not to love !!!
People are extremely nice and great service! Good food cost too! And parking is very easy. only thing is that I think the ingredients tasted spoiled and I felt like throwing up but maybe they don’t use heavy cream with the ice cream for their recipe but besides that the hotdogs for 2.50 is really good make sure you get it with the secret sauce
Over priced charge same amount for a plain hot dog no bun as they do one with works otherwise it's alright
Had hot dogs on a stop over while traveling. They were fine. Nothing special in my opinion. They were only $2.50 each so a good deal. Steady stream of people coming in..guess the locals like it
The staff were very welcoming and friendly -- their service was greatly appreciated. However, ultimately this is about hotdogs which tasted like they had been boiled and were topped with a secret sauce that certainly wasn't chili and was only mildly hot
Disappointed as to the hot dogs, which is supposed to be what "Dallas Hot Dogs" is all about, right? Basically what you get is a cheap Oscar Meyer style weiner on an even cheaper white bun with a selection from a handful of non descript toppings to differentiate the dogs. Its kind of a joke. Oddly, the lion`s share of the menu is NOT hot dogs, but burgers and sandwiches, and soup, which may actually be good if I came back to try them, which I won`t. Service was poor: slow w a bad attitude. Diner bar and atmosphere is decent and it was clean, prices are cheap. I dont recommend it for the dogs, but the other stuff might be good but nothing special. Not sure where or why they have "Dallas" in the name, but the place has zero to do Texas. I dont recommend the joint unless you have no other options in life.
The food was good but the meat in my burger was as thin as the cheese. The portions are really small .
The place was crowded because everyone one loves a good hot dog. The service was good. The price was excellent for 1 hot dog $1.85 (NOT A BAD PRICE). NOW!! I'm a person that loves hot dogs and to be honest THEY WERE ALRIGHT. They were not the best (IN MY OPINION]). They were a bit water logged. The red onion sauce and sauerkraut had no taste. The pickles were good. Will I returned to this location for a hot dog? The verdict is still out on that and that's sad because I love Hot Dogs. I guess you can't beat $1.85 anywhere in NEW YORK.
I drove all the way to the restaurant it was about a 2 Hour Dr. from my location on arriving. We found that the location had closed two hours prior to the closing time posted on the Internet and their website, including the map times. Will try again another time.
Long time fan used to love it. Been going since I was a kid and it went under a different name (UG). Over the last couple of years the quality of the ingredients has lowered so much...and a lot of people I talk to say it even before I mention it. The hot dogs used to actually have a flavor to them now. All you taste is the sauce but the sauce is really good still. I'll actually go and just get the sauce and do my own dogs. The buns seem like they're the cheapest buns out there anymore. It used to be where they were soft and actually held your hot dog and sauce. Now everything breaks apart leaks through and it's just a mess. Half of the bun sticks to the wrapping. You literally have to peel it off the wrapping. The people are great though and the atmosphere is good but I just can't get past the drop in quality.
The hot dog sauce is indeed unique but it's too bland in my opinion. It doesn't stop me from grabbing some of these for quick eats every couple of months though. Many people swear by the sauce but I'm used to places in Newburgh NY like Pete's and Texas Lunch which packs more flavor. No contest against a Michigan sauce hot dog though. Service is always quick, seating is nice, staff is friendly. A staple in these parts.
Honestly I hate to give this place 2 STARZ but they only except cash which is a real bummer🥺 -That all being said I did really like the place because it didn’t have a stuck in the 1950s or 60s five which is very hard to come by these days and all the employees there were super nice very friendly and it was a cool local low key hot dog joint and GREAT PRICES!!! I would highly suggest that they get an app to process credit and debit cards instead of having to use the ATM which charges a five dollar fee. To me it is just stupid to pay a five dollar ATM charge to buy a $2-3 🌭
It's a greasy diner. The hot dogs aren't good. I guess it's an experience of some sort. The guys who work there are very nice though.
The hot dogs were cold ,white looked like boiled chicken dogs no flavor . I told the waitress that they were nasty I ate half but when I saw it owhen she gave it to me on the cold cheap bun I should have sent it back DO NOT order the hot dogs
I went there with a friend of mine since we heard they were famous for their hot dogs and hot sauce. We both agree they are the worst hot dogs we ever had. They are very pale in color and very mushy like a can of Vienna sausage. Not to mention they are very small. I am baffled as to why they get such great reviews but maybe there are other food items are better? All I know is don't get the hot dogs
