Jeff was a swell bartender & gracious host with helpful insight on the Kingston scene.
Fun affordable bar in a great location and great hours (finally another bar that is actually open late!). staff are delightful! Decent sized outdoor patio and multiple interior rooms to choose from to hang out in look at that mirror walled bathroom!! If u ever want to stare deeply into your own eyes as u pee and also drink a beer this is the place to achieve that dream 🌈
Off the beaten path.. Uptown Kingston. Love this place! They have a pop-up chef every Tuesday cooking comfort food. DJ and live music often. Great drinks and attentive staff!

Saltbox is like find a sixties basement rec room in a Revolutionary War era stone house. The bartenders are personable, the drinks very reasonable, and the patrons are friendly. My new go-to in K-town.
Perfect local drinking spot. Great place to go solo or with friends. Love that there’s a bunch of different areas - upstairs, downstairs, outside - so you can find the nook that fits your needs.
While this is an excellent Bar it is not in fact A Cocktail Bar. There was no cocktail menu, and my very normal gin and tonic came with a large plastic straw poking out of it, which I believe disqualifies a place from being a true classic cocktail bar. However, the ambience is delightfully curated in bright block color and the space is impeccably clean, welcoming, and with many lovely nooks. A few draft beers, house wines, and can beers were on the chalkboard menu. The bartender immediately regarded us and took our order, even tho it was our first time in; none of that Being Ignored Because You’re Not A Regular business. The clientele all looked like people I wanted to converse with, or at least ask them about their very niche tattoos. Would come back, but with appetite for a beer—recommend removing the “cocktail” modifier from the descriptor on Google to help fellow imbibers
SO fun! Sunday nights 9-12 karaoke upstairs, great vibes and supportive host. Drinks on demand, service with a smile (and occasionally a wink), small yet tasty snack/food menu. Great community 😁
Not only is it the oldest house in Kingston, but the layout is so interesting! A small bar area, a small indoor dining room, an upstairs game room/chill spot, and an outdoor dining area too! We were there for a Monday night Jingle John's popup, and the food knocked our socks off! The bartender was amazing, too! Tucked in the oldest part of Kingston, right up the street from the 4 corners, it is the only one place in America where all four homes on each corner have history from before the Revolutionary War. It's such a cool spot!
Nice staff and great drinks! A must visit
Michelle is the sweetest, chillest bartender and always makes my Thursday afternoons better. She is so responsible to not serve underage children who come in with poor attempts at passing off fake IDs. It is so bizarre that some people leaving these poor reviews seem to take issue with that. I guess they love underage drinking 🤷♀️. Michelle is a true hero, keeping our community's children safe and it's adults tipsy.
First time here, loving the atmosphere, the music, the people, the owners. Everyone is super friendly, they are just starting so bear with they may not have it all but my friends and I are fully content. A great hang out, comfortable spot to enjoy time with friends.
Love this spot ! The vibe is right ! Super chill, good music and decorated stylishly. The bar tenders know what they’re doing and can make anything. Super affordable and fun!

A little house/home turned into a “speakeasy” vibe bar. Has upstairs seating and the bar section was small. Cool place to hang out.

I met friends here after a evening meeting. I ordered a Dirty Gin Martini. Delish, I was tipsy for sure. Unfortunately, no food, so cracker and brie it was. Small spot when you first walk in; cute. More space towards the back maybe for larger events. And, upstairs was great for a small group of us to drink and laugh it up. I hope to return for another Martini.
Comfy bar to hang out with friends and listen to great music. Great atmosphere and good drinks. A must stop for me when I'm in town.

Cute place but the staff is awful. Female bartender on the first floor tried to rip me off -- which I see from other reviews seems to be her regular deal. How is she still working there? Bouncer has a lot of attitude for Kingston.

Bartender was so condescending & rude. Place seemed really nice so thats unfortunate.
Not a good place. who does not return the credit because there is a minimum order. Then when I asked a question the sad and evil bartender started yelling at me and threw the credit in my face! The owner of the place and he just didn't humiliate me and make me cry just because I wanted to save money to raise my child. Don't recommend but don't worry there is another really good bar at the end of the street
Beautiful place. Coming from FL.checking out new spots. Sat down at bar was not acknowledged. I waited as bartender finished conversation. Finally got drink, looked around went back to bar. Gentleman who seemed to be manager or owner nodded his head " when I said beautiful place you have". I finished my drink. Never offered a menu. Later went back with my younger niece in from AZ. Again totally ignored. Save your money, skip this place.
NEVER GOING BACK!!!! My 22 1/2 year daughter was there Friday night 6/2/23. Female bartender was nasty and incapable of reading of NYS ID. Accused my daughter of being under 21 after she offered to provide a second form of id. She then admittedly and intentionally upcharged my daughter on the drinks and proudly stated that to the other bartender on round two and in front of my daughter and her friend. We did call to try to speak to upper management but no return call. Bartender was rude and combative and we can purchase cocktails at these prices at a myriad of other local establishments!
The drinks and atmosphere were ok . The service was horrible the bartender was rude and combative and publicly commented to the other bartender that she up-charged us for the cocktails as we ordered our second round. She seemed proud of this fact. I would never go there again
