Trellis has a standout interior design! I really love how the colour of the front and back dining rooms differ but still retain their flow. The front is in tones of light teal and white marble while the back is rich with red and wood tones. 5 star design all the way! The food doesn't suck either, though I would've preferred my duck a little less bloody. Medium and medium-rare are different temps and I notice the difference. The trout was spot on. The drinks were good. The service was excellent.

Quiet, airy atmosphere. I love the enclosed porch in the winter time. Excellent breakfasts. Easy parking at the public library garage across the street.

Modern upscale hidden spot for afternoon tea within the Heathman Hotel.

Limited food choices but good food. The place gets crowded from time to time but fast service. Good choice if you are staying at the heathman hotel.

Superb happy hour prices. Friendly bar staff. Nice for Kirland locals, too

As always, fun place with terrific wait staff and fabulous food.

Tasty food, good service. Dinner and breakfast are both great. The heirloom tomato soup is really good and sharing the Kirkland breakfast between 2 is a great start to a weekend morning.

Great experience for high tea. Waiter was super nice and friendly and was very helpful after I spilled some water. The food was super good and the tea was exquisite.

Best happy hour in town!! 2 dollar draft beers and 5 dollar burgers!?!? And it's amazing quality!!! Honestly this place is an untouched gem. Take advantage!!

One of our date night rotation restaurants. Great food and drinks, impeccable service. Can't recommend the happy hour enough, value and variety of options.

Not on their menu, but they have some amazing gluten free options including gluten free bread which they made their lavender french toast for me. First time eating french toast out since my allergy diagnosis! So yummy and the server was nice, attentive, and knowledgeable.

Wow! I was amazed by the great service, amazing selection, and the beautiful presentation and outstanding taste of the food. I loved the natural light coming into the dining room as well. I'll definitely visit Trellis again. It's a hidden gem in Kirkland and I wish I knew about it sooner.

The wine selection is excellent and the appetizers were small but tasty. The pasta was okay but the group I was with liked the meats. Dessert was delicious and you must try the chocolate cake.

This is not your regular hotel restaurant. The chef owns his own local farm so that the produce is farm to table fresh organic. His down-to-earth, wine-country inspired menu focuses on using small, artisan farmers, ranchers, and fishermen. The a couple of small plates can make a dinner to be shared with a glass of wine each. No matter what you choose for dinner it will be fresh and delicious.

I love this place. The atmosphere is really laid back and classy. You never feel rushed and can sit and linger. Food is delicious, organic, local. The patio is great in the summer. It's off the main drag so not so crazy with crowds.

Great happy hour!! Great food and service!! ***Changed name and ownership. Went right down the toilet!! Had party of 6. Couldn't find 1 decent thing on menu so we all walked out. Just goes to show you new ownership and total overhaul of the menu is not always a good thing. Went from our party of 6 going weekly to never going back!! Sad sad

Good location, complementary valet, nice outdoor terrace. Good variety on dishes and cocktail list. Food in general is average (price vs quality). The sides are good.

Old style elegance with a lovely wait staff, accommodating facilities for older folks, and a delicious set of breakfast offerings, including this lovely lavender French Toast that was fragrant with the flower and topped with strawberries and cream.

So, the first time I went to Trellis, I had a challenge. I wanted them to make the Herbfarm variation of switchel, a drink with ginger ale or seltzer, lemon and orange juices, mint, and lemon verbena. They made it, and it was glorious. You don't go here for cheap eats. The portions aren't the greatest, but they're lovely. The bok choi is the best not served in an asian restaurant, and the charcuterie options are lovely. It's simply a tad expensive, costing you easily $35/pp without alcohol. But it's a lovely restaurant, with lovely food, and it's a good spot to start an afternoon in downtown Kirkland in.

Tasty dinner spot with local ingredients and interesting dishes. Service was good but not perfect. Great view of downtown Kirkland from here.

Has gone through a lot of changes over the years. Happy hour menu is a good option for the cost. Not as good of a value as it once was, given the location it is still good. Staff is very good here. Outdoor seating is awesome. The brunches fine special occasions are great!

We came here a couple times already. I always pick the brunch menu (omelet with pork confit and spinach) for my entree. The pork is really yummy but the server always said they might not have it when I ordered. The omelet comes with house made jelly, which is tasty and the hash brown is so crispy. I heard the burger is really good, too. Overall, this place provides good food and atmosphere. However, service could be a bit slow if you are in a rush.

Easily the best happy hour in Kirkland with some of the best beer on tap you can get. The food prices can't be beat during happy hour and everything is delicious though certain items are smaller than others. The Philly cheese steak is awesome and the sweet potato fries that came with were amazing! The cheese platter and interesting and tasty selection. Also I've always sat at the bar and the bartender was always great and very knowledgeable. Definitely go for at least the Happy hour!

We went to Trellis during Seattle's restaurant week so I cannot tell if the wait staff was just tired of people trying to take advantage of the great deals going on- or if they really were as inept as they seemed. From the hostess being unable to get us a cocktail waitress while we were forced to wait in the hotel lounge, to the waiter who actually had to call because he forgot to run our card- the service at Trellis reeked of the unseasoned. (Not to mention the fact that they kept putting the wrong dishes in front of people). However- the food was uniformly fabulous. We'll probably return some weekend where there is not a special event going on to see if they can redeem themselves. Overall- worth a try, and if you get great service, then you're set!

Arrived early for breakfast on a Saturday morning. This is one of the few places that opens at 7 for breakfast on a weekend. I had the belgian waffle and they accommodated my request for a side of scrambled egg whites. The food was delicious! The only reason this isn't a five is because service was a bit on the slow side. Still, I'd definitely return.

Upscale hotel restaurant. Friendly staff, convenient while staying at hotel. Food service was slow paced, which was good for us as we were visiting with family - if you're in a hurry, let them know. Food was good. Reservations recommended for busy times. Bar well supplied.

We are long time customers, and still miss Chef Brian. Glad to report that the happy hour bar menu has gotten better! Scallops and fish tacos were great, as were fries. We shall return!

Our food was amazing; the drinks were very good. Our service however, was lacking. Our waiter was very nice, but we waited FOREVER between finishing our starters to order our entrees, and FOREVER for our entree to arrive. That was disappointing. But he food as delicious!

I appreciate that Trellis serves breakfast until 1:30, it's a refreshing lunch option! I ordered the omelette with mushrooms, goat cheese and spinach. The potatoes on the side were crispy and seasoned! Service was attentive.

Great place for brunch! Service is usually pretty decent, but giving 4 stars as there have been a couple times we've waited over an hour for food after being ordered (We've likely been here at least 30 times for brunch).

P
Patty Zboralski

Happy hour food was generous and delish. Chicken ceasar could have been a meal for me. Ordered the happy hour burger. Full size with fries, mm mm mm. Our server seemed a little crabby

Y

Very nice modern Pacific Nortwest cuisine, with many ingredients sourced locally or grown by the chef himself. The wine list is heavy on Pacific Northwest wines, and therefore on the higher alcohol, heavier styles in reds. The patio is fantastic on a nice day.

T
Tommy McElroy

came in for an early easter dinner. tbh the food wasnt mind blowing. ordered the fish (which was halibut) and the soup (butternut squash). the service was good but at the same time, this isnt pf changs or pallino. sort of just expected more in all aspects although it was all decent. a lot of reviews loved the happy hour at the bar which i could see might be great if youre staying at the hotel. decidedly average for dinner though.

M
Mel Hibbard

Very very expensive for what you get. Fish and chips one piece of fish, cole slaw and potato chips not real chips. You get all for the price of 17.00 There are other places to eat in Kirkland that put this place to shame. I don't understand why some say it is a good happy hour, not so expensive.

C
Corey Birnbaum

They just raised their Happy Hour prices so it isn't good anymore. The food is still great, it's just too expensive. Good selection of wine, bad selection of beer.

N
Nick DeStefano

Overall a decent restaurant, but nothing special. The atmosphere inside reminds me of my grandmother with bigger bulky chairs. Additionally on prime rib night we ordered the wine chosen to go with the prime rib and weren't told they were out until after they poured the glasses. The food was otherwise decent, but you're probably better off elsewhere for the price unless you have a discount through your hotel stay.

B
Bijan

A hotel bar that doesn't know what it wants to be. Best thing that can be said is they have a happy hour that goes until close and the wine discounts ($3 off) are pretty good. They have their own pale ale for $3 as well that is not bad. Food is solidly mediocre. Service is garbage with a smile. Very slow and inattentive, no appologies no excuses just a smile and an "of course" as if you are asking for something special that they are accommodating you for. What I mean is asking for silverware or more water, 20 minutes after you needed it. The place has a sort of fancy vibe, but then it's trying to be that nouveau frontier that's popular in Seattle, except they have idiotic signs you'd see in some dive bar like "Rules of the Bar, 1. The bartender is always right..." Real classy Trellis . That's exactly the establishment you're going to purchase a Louis XIII from for $150... Nothing special nothing good enough to go out of your way for.

My girlfriend and I came here for a Sunday afternoon brunch. We asked if there were tables available outside since the weather was fantastic, and we were told it would be a 15 minute wait. Rather than wait, we decided to sit inside next to the window, and from that vantage point we were able to see that only about half of the tables on the patio were actually in use. In fact, most of those tables were empty from the time we were seated to the time we left, so I'm not sure why the hostesses told us it would be a 15-minute wait to sit outside. After we were seated, our server brought us our drinks and then promptly disappeared. We barely saw the server or busser the entire time we were there, and my girlfriend had to flag someone down from across the room in order to get our waters refilled after they'd been empty for about ten minutes. To be fair, the food here is worth a 4-star rating. It wasn't incredible, but it was very good. Unfortunately, the service was no better than a 2-star rating, so I'm averaging it out to at 3.

Just an ok experience, I can't really recommend it. There was a mix up in getting seated (I think the forgot about us) to start. Once that was fixed we got seated in their amazing outside patio area. The food was pretty average especially considering to price. We ordered pasta and asked for it to be el dente, it came overcooked. The red sauce was fresh but pretty basic and the portion size was very small for $20. I had the duck. It was tasty but covered in so many greens that I had to dig my way down to get in. Will try other Kirkland restaurants before coming back.

The food at Trellis is always good. The happy hour prices are great. However the service is always a little to be desired. If they could figure out the service this would be a must do happy hour in Kirkland.

S
Scottie B

Food was good but not great for the price. I had eggs Benedict. Service was slow and lacking. I was never asked if I wanted another drink and after the food was brought out it was several minutes before we got silverware.

This use to be one of my favorite restaurants on Eastside but yesterday our service and food was nothing to brag about. Very disappointed that we had to wait for an hour for our food, terrible drinks, and food not tasting fresh as it use to - especially since it was my daughters bday.

I was really disappointed in the Afternoon Tea experience. My daughter and I have a tradition of enjoying Afternoon Tea annually as a special mother/daughter date. We look forward to this day every year and this was the first time trying out this Afternoon Tea experience at the Trellis. We've had such good experiences at other restaurants that serve Afternoon Tea and it's always very special. But this just wasn't.... First, the two of us were seated in the hotel lobby at a lone table in the corner of the lobby. This was very uncomfortable given that there were kids crying, cell phones ringing, people coming and going out of the elevators, people checking in to the hotel, all the while we were trying to enjoy our Afternoon Tea experience and have quiet conversation. We felt on display... I have no idea why they think sitting in the hotel lobby is pleasant for this - the restaurant was only 1/4 full so there was definitely room in the restaurant for us. We asked to be moved to the restaurant and were accommodated, but we had to move all of our things and thought it strange I even had to ask! Secondly, the tea was served in hearty mugs instead of delicate tea cups - just not what I was expecting or have experienced for Afternoon Tea before. Also, there are savory and sweet bites that are served for this. There are definitely too few savory bites served and too many sweet bites. All in all, I was disappointed with the entire experience and thought the price was too high for what felt like an "after thought". It did not seem like there was any effort made to make the Afternoon Tea at Trellis a "special" event and my daughter and I left disappointed with the entire experience. There are several local places that do Afternoon Tea really well and I will go back to my tried and true favorites. I think the Trellis Restaurant should stop attempting to do Afternoon Tea and stick with their standard lunch and dinner.

Sunday Brunch was rather disappointing. Slow service and food was only mediocre - my kids pancakes were burned on the edges and fruit looked like it came from a can. For the price, the pancake house in Kirkland is a better option for Sunday breakfast.

T
Tracey Batara

The food was good but we waited an hour to get it! The server said the kitchen was backed up. The restaurant was not busy at all. Puzzled as to why it took so long. I'd rather pick up a salad from the new Starbucks menu.

Not sure I can say it was the best dining experience I've had. We were greeted right away and the host was pleasant. The waiter took some time getting to us. It happened to be Seattle Restaurant week and we decided to have the set menu. When my soup arrived I took a spoonful and didn't realize how scolding hot it was and it burned my mouth and down my esophagus, not a good way to start. Adding to my disappointment the soup was pretty bland, I'm not one to add salt to anything but felt it needed it. For my main course, I had the risotto also served on an extremely hot plate (which I was not warned about). The presentation was boring three dull colored carrots sitting on top of a brown bed. For risotto it wasn't bad once it cooled down. For the desert portion they had two options and was a little disappointed to learn they really only had one option which was dairy based with no substitutions offered. Lastly, I did feel a little rushed as we wanted to have one more drink for the road with the waiter offering up the bill before asking if we'd like anything else. I might have rated Trellis lower however, I did like the layout of the restaurant and the host greeted us warmly.

A group of us from work came to check out Trellis' restaurant week special. Restaurant week is essentially a huge two-week marketing campaign for local restaurants to introduce themselves to new customers by putting their best foot forward, hopefully gaining repeat customers. Trellis did not succeed. Three of my colleagues ordered the spring onion soup. Three of us sent it back. It was less "smoked ham hock and grilled ramps", and more "murky, flavorless dishwater with raw white onion slices". This was not an issue of everyone has different tastes. This should not have made it to the table, and when we asked for a replacement, our waiter made it seem like a serious inconvenience instead of being concerned that something so unacceptable was served. I had a delicious grilled cheese for my entree, but my colleague had a very strange tuna pancake. Not much to comment on - it was fine. Dessert was served - cold cobbler with a scoop of ice cream. One does not serve cobbler à la mode with cold cobbler. Very confusing. I will say, the flavors were there, and it was tasty. All of that, plus our lunch took almost two hours. They were fairly busy, but they should know how to staff for restaurant week volume. All in all, I would not return, and would not recommend.

J
John Shannon

Sorry, not impressed. I really was disappointed with with the portions and pricing even at happy hour. Taking 50% of the menu price wasn't that great, when the items were so over priced as to not be worth the discounted price. When I ordered the ribs, I asked how many we got, and the waitress said about 6, so I said great and ordered it. When it arrived their were 6, but each rib was only 1 inch long. Just baby rib-lets. The other people in my party were also disappointed and we ended up leaving and going to Anthony's for happy hour and eating some good, fairly priced food. I won't be back.

J
Joshua Boyce

Absolutely an epic fail of a restaurant on all levels. Service - slow and entrepid without a care in the world. Food - flavorless Cost - astronomically overpriced. Do you want to spend $18 for an omelet? Maybe for a good one! Not that dried up piece of garbage they served me. Don’t waste your time. They won’t honor their passport card either.
