Avis sur SJ Garcia's Lake George
We almost did not go to Garcia's due to the poor reviews, but we are so glad we did go. The food was very good, we had enchaladas and burritos with Mexican rice 4 meals were awesome. We had Alex as our waiter and he was very attentive. Goes to show don't totally rely on reviews.
As the husband and I sit here finishing our meal, full to the brim and alcohol infused. We've been coming to LG for years and are now locals to the area. Why we haven't eaten here before has us scratching our heads. The service was awesome, the alcohol drinks delicious, and the food amazing. I can't even believe I ate as much as I did. The tater kegs, steak & cheese crunch rolls, Oscar's smoked cheese and sausage platter, and the fish fry are amazing!!! If you haven't eaten here, you must. I promise you won't be disappointed! Can't wait to be back for more
This place is being slept on. Got the GOAT Chicken Sandwich and by far the best Chicken Sandwich on the strip. Service was friendly and attentive. We had a party of 10 and everyone loved their food. Highly recommend. Cheers.
We were pretty hungry and the more popular restaurants nearby had hour + waits. We walked into Jack Barry's and it was empty. After we ordered, I glanced at the reviews and said oh no. However, everything was fine! my salad was very fresh, the fries were great, my husband and sons liked their food - loaded nachos, cheeseburger and for my picky son they made a custom item not on the menu- chicken and cheese quesadilla- he said it was better than taco bell. service was friendly. I say give this place a try.
Good Mexican American Restaurant and bar. Great location in downtown Lake George! The back deck was full, so we ate out on the front patio and people watched as we dined. The service was great and the food was very good. Found a coupon for a free draft beer with any entree and used it! Nice place to eat.
Visited with a family of 5. Menu had a lot of choices for the 3 kids and 2 adults. Prices were slightly higher the. I would expect but your a tourist so it wasn’t unreasonable. Chips and salsa appetizer was great, chicken fingers for 3 were delicious and plenty of food, fries for the wife and enchilada for me. We found the food to be great, service was stretched for 2 people working but on top of what we asked for. $75 bill with tip and mixed drinks.
Good service. I lived that they had gluten free options designated on the menu! I liked the tacos and the rice was great. My mom got the fajitas and the steak was rubbery and overcooked. They replaced it with chicken and that was much better.
Largely ignored. Had to point to the drink menu to order. Probably 12 patrons including the 4 of us at around 9pm last night, but plenty of wait staff to stand around. As soon as we took our last sip, bottles were whisked away without a word, not even offering another. Not a good look for a Saturday night out on a summer weekend, in a tourist town. Not impressed.
I have to say the restaurant itself gave good vibes the wait staff was good the food on the other hand was not even close to what authentic Mexican food is like I would have even gave them props if the food was at least as good as taco bell or chipotle to say the least but otherwise u better off avoiding this place altogether and the price was not cheap I wouldn't have mind paying for good food but overall a missed opportunity
Sadly, I feel the 2 stars I'm giving is generous. But, I'm giving the 2 stars because our waiter was super nice. He was very attentive, helpful and quick. He even switched out our chips for just corn instead of the mix chips when we asked. But, unfortunately, I'm sorry to say the food was not good, in my opinion. We were incredibly hungry so we ate most of it anyway, but it was bland, and the rice was dry.
Tortilla chips and service were good which is the only reason for a very generous 2 star rating. Food was not good in comparison to other Mexican restaurants. Queso dip was not very good at all. The drinks were weak which was surprising because we ordered their own specialty Margaritas. The food was also pricey for what we were served. Overall not impressed.
I very rarely post bad reviews, however, this place definitely deserves just that!! Do not waste your hard earned money here. There were absolutely no culinary skills involved in throwing together the nonsense that they considered as food!?!? I also happened to notice that they have on their menu an item called Kraft macaroni and cheese. !!!???? It's probably exactly what it says it is, straight out of a box! 😝
If I could give it no stars I would. Definitely skip this place. Here in town for Bike Week. Every joint in the strip was packed except this one. Should've been the first clue. Large bar and table area. Only 2-3 people in there. Seemed to be locals. Waitress was too busy standing talking to the locals to worry about taking our order. After 20 minutes of being ignored we went up the street to the Monte Cristo and dropped $110.00 on drinks after getting service within 5 minutes despite it being busy in there. Advice: get rid of the 2 mouthy old men sitting at the bar and get your teenage waitress in line with serving not talking to the locals.
The worse food I’ve had in a long time. Soda was flat, my mother and I ordered the chicken fajita wraps they both looked different and the chicken was like a sponge. I send mine back because there was no cheese and I got it back with the same brown sauce on it. Neither of us ate it. The waitress did not know what queso is and they did not serve it. No manager on staff to complain to or to make an adjustment to my bill.
The service wasn't that great, I was left choking with nothing to drink. The food barely had any flavor, my rice and beans were hard. My soft tacos barely had any meat and the little bit of meat it had was awful. I ordered a fish bowl and when I began to drink I noticed a dead ant inside my drink. This place is just disgusting! Don't waste your time nor money.
This restaurant is not only disgusting but the staff is unfriendly and rude! The chicken taco I had was canned chicken, cold and soggy! Absolutely disgusting all the way around. My brothers nacho platter’s ground beef was under cooked and pink, we asked for the manager and the “waitress” lied and said she was at another property and when I challenged that information the manager walked up LOL how embarrassing! It’s safe to say I’ll never ever go back, and I strongly suggest anyone thinking about going immediately find another place. Unsafe unclean and gross.
My wife and I were at Million dollar beach and decided to try SJ Garcia's. The quality of the food was sub standard and that is being kind. We ordered chips and salsa , tacos and burrito for 45 dollars. The tortilla chips were stale and was mixed with a unidentifiable cracker. The tacos and burrito had very little beef and was not very flavorful at all. If I were you looking for some decent grub don't even consider this establishment you will be disappointed if you do.. To top it all off they didn't even place any utensils with the takeout order.
I wouldn't recommend this place. Though the staff was friendly and the balcony has a decent view of the lake through the alley, the food lacked flavor. I don't know who's in the kitchen, but they need to learn how to cook Mexican food. None of the great taste and all of the grease. Overpriced and mediocre at best. Reading through all the reviews of people who had the same experience as me, you'd think they'd take some action to improve. I guess b/c of the location they'll always have customers despite terrible "top tier" quality.
The worst over priced take advantage of unsuspecting tourists Restaurant I've ever been to. Asked for a frozen margarita and literally got a glass full of crushed ice with a shot of tequila. It went back and exchanged for a $6 dollar corona ....smh. yes 6 dollars. Our food took forever to get, and the place wasn't even busy at 330pm. My chicken enchiladas plate had a fine layer of water on it causing everything to get soggy. For 16.99 I expected great food. Chicken nuggets ordered were hard and non chewable. The fries were good but plate was not worth 9.99 Save yourself the time and money...taco bell is better.
