Avis sur Soulshine Bagel Lake Placid
Very good bagels, not a huge selection but everything they had was good. It was crowded in the morning on a weekday by 8am. Coffee was just okay. We enjoyed our bagels to go, but if you can grab a seat, it's a nice little spot for breakfast. Next time we visit Lake Placid, we'll be sure to stop again for bagels.
Me and the family visited Lake Placid for 3 days and we came to Soulshine Bagel for breakfast everyday! Delicious food, fast service, and friendly staff. My favorite sandwich was the Barkeater with apple, ham, chedder cheese, and apple butter. Pictured here is the ham, egg, and cheese on an asiago bagel.
We loved this place, picked up breakfast all three days we were in town, and a couple of bagels to carry up Mt Marcy for our hike! They make for a great snack to pack away (even when enjoyed in the rain on the mountain...). Bagels are a good size, just the right amount of fluffy and chewy. Everything had the personal touch, including the home cooked eggs for the sandwiches. Service was speedy considering how busy it was even on a Sunday morning when you couldn’t get a table for brunch anywhere in town for under an hour-long wait. To the reviewer commenting on the price, I would invite him to try the packaged bagels down the street for 30% more, then return to Soulshine to appreciate a homemade version at, what we thought, was a good price.
Have to give this place a review for being a well-oiled breakfast machine. We got our breakfast from here every day of our trip. The bagels are good. The breakfast sandwiches are good. It's a great coffee spot. They are so speedy that they rival Long Island delis. We'll done
Excellent bagel shop with reasonable prices. Seemed to be a family run establishment with lots of options for breakfast and lunch. Everything was delicious and was made fresh. There was always a line out the door when we went and they were out of a lot of bagels by the time we were ready to order. Nonetheless, great establishment and food!
Hit this place up several times on our trip to Mirror Lake. Great name for a shop, like the Gov't Mule song , "Soulshine, it's better than sunshine, it's better than moonshine, ..." Staff was gratuitous an appreciative; all great attributes to have when you're spending the few days you have off a year on vacation. Coffee was self serve; a big plus in my book. Bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel was satisfying. Nice spot to people watch...they have bar stools and a countertop overlooking the street or an outdoor patio set. Update: this place is still awesome...stayed in the area and stopped by! Well worth a visit if you are in the area.
Not a classic, chewy NYC bagel, but tasty nonetheless. Super efficient service. Good breakfast bagel sandwich.
Went at 10am. Quite busy. They were out of some of the popular bagels. We got 3 diff kinds of bagels and they were all delicious. Service was fast considering how busy it was. What would make it 5 stars would be to add extra seating to allow a dine in option but it’s a small space so I understand why there’s limited seating (4 seats by window)
I do appreciate the gluten free bagel. Is it the best mostly perfect gluten free bagel in the world? No. But it does the job for sure. The filling… was aight. I wish the turkey was warm and cheese was melted. The turkey, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich was just cold, which was so strange. Maybe I needed to request it to be toasted? Line moved very quick. All the staff were so so nice !!
Stumbled upon the place randomly and it turned out to be the best breakfast place in the town. Their varieties are great and people are hard working during rush hours. However, some comfort and dining experience would’ve been nice since the place is a hallway type and don’t have much seating areas. Other than that y’all are just great! 👍🏽
The good: Bagels were ok. Nothing special. Prices were on point with market. The bad: Very tight space with no room. You are literally on top of people while waiting in line The ugly: I am Eastern European and understand several languages and while I was waiting in line the staff were complaining about the customers and making comments about some of them. They were smiling acting like they actually cared but were saying rude things. I wanted to let them knew that I understood but I think a review is better.
I waited 15 minutes in line, which frankly, not a big deal. I ordered a bagel with bacon egg and cheese with tomatoes and onions. I took my sandwich and ate it outside on a bench. Upon opening the tin foil and taking a bite I realize there’s no egg. The cheese wasn’t even melted. I couldn’t go back to complain and have them correct it because I was running late for a meeting. Cherry on top, almost $10 for a lousy bagel that wasn’t even correctly made.
Horrible. They serving bagels a day old, hard as rock. They brewing regular coffee as espresso and serving as expresso. Not worth at all. Please go few steps down and enjoy starbucks, great environment and awsome coffee
