Definitely a must if in Lake Placid. The staff is what makes this place. These were the most pleasant people we met there, they were helpful, happy, and seems like a hard working bunch. There seemed to be many unfriendly workers in the area.. but not here. The bagels are the best, and they serve green mountain coffee. Always a plus. Five stars

Always friendly and the bacon scallion on pumpernickel is the best

The bagels were super tasty! The service was Amazing! Friendly and super easy. We mentioned we had a child with allergies and they customized the bagel without any hassle! Made us feel so good!

Amazing sandwiches and bagels! We ordered a Rt. 73 and a Cliffhanger sandwich. Best sandwiches we've had in a while! The bagels were delicious and fresh, as were the ingredients used. They were very safe and Covid conscious here, using new gloves for making food and wearing masks. So impressed and delighted with Soulshine Bagel! A perfect sandwich to take on the go and eat on the lake.

Amazing place to grab breakfast. They had great BLT's on absolutely amazing bagels.

Such a great little spot, with really good bagels and breakfast sandwiches! The folks working there were so friendly, and loved chatting with my 2.5 year old about all the fish he caught off the dock. We discovered it late in our stay, but will be going back every morning for breakfast sandwiches next year!

Mandatory breakfast stop. Bagels are homemade, from scratch, always fresh, and they are delicious!

Really good egg and spinach on a sunflower seed bagel. Fun selections, quick service. Yum.

The bagel was very tasty and coffee fresh. No complaints here!

After reading online that they had rainbow bagels, we just had to stop! We ended up coming here every day for breakfast. They had fresh, homemade bagels and cream cheese options. They had other unique options for flavors as well. There was limited seating. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth a stop! They bad breakfast sandwiches and lunch sandwiches as well.

I’ve tried them once before a while ago and finally tried them again today and omg! I forgot how good their bagels are! Had a plain bagel with regular cream cheese and it was toasted perfectly, cream cheese had good flavor as well as the bagel itself. It’s run by an honest and hard-working Moldovan family. Thanks Vlado! I’ll definitely see you guys more often!

Fresh bagel, homemade cream cheese was delicious (cucumber and dill), cute little breakfast place!

I'm giving this 5 stars for the black Russian aka pumpernickel everything bagel. OH. EM. Gee! THIS IS IT. This is the bagel you need to get. Get it as a breakfast sandwich, as a lunch sandwich, eat it plain, eat it toasted with butter, eat it with cream cheese. Whatever, however, but get THIS bagel. I think it's the best thing I've eaten recently. Straight up, unadulterated, best thing ever. I will now dream about this bagel until I can get a dozen or more. Note, it seems to only be available at certain times. Be prepared to be disappointed if they don't have it when you visit. Additionally, the shop is tiny, so be prepared to take your order to go. There are a couple of stools at a bar counter, but when it's busy, you'll have people standing next to you. There are a couple of tables outside which can be used when the weather is cooperating.

We came here for lunch twice, and both times I had the Polaris, it was delicious! The bagels were also very fresh. Highly recommend!

So worth the 20 minute wait in line! There’s a reason they are always packed- amazing bagels! The everything bagel sandwiches we got were amazing, they don’t skimp on the seasoning on the bagels like so many places do. And the bacon scallion cream cheese was to die for. Highly recommend visiting if you’re in Lake Placid and don’t mind the little wait in line (it does go fast!)

Hands-down the best bagels in Lake Placid. I've gotten countless sausage, egg, and cheese bagels from the team, and every time I feel like I'm transported to NYC for a legendary bagel experience. Keep up the awesome work, everyone!

Best bagel sandwich that I’ve had in a long time. Bagel was soft on inside, crispy outside, egg was fresh and fluffy. Coffee was great also. Recommend if you just want a quick delicious bagel or egg sandwich!

Rainbow bagel was as good as it sounds!! I've tried every rainbow bagel in my hometown, and NO ONE gets close to how good this bagel was. 🥰

Easy walk from the Crown Plaza Hotel, friendly staff, small sitting area. Really good bagels and coffee.

Delicious lox bagel with cucumber dill cream cheese! It was late in the morning so they had run out of several varieties but there were plenty of my choice, everything, left for my sandwich.

A must stop when in Lake Placid. Their breakfast and lunch is amazing. Their bagel sandwiches and my favorite. I have tried at least five different sandwiches and never had a bad one. They offer coffees and drinks as well. Oatmeal is great from here too. Parking on street which is paid parking.

This is our favorite breakfast spot. The owner is super inviting and conversative. He remembers us every time we come in. And the food is the best prepared, creative and very tasty with soft very fresh bagels. Highly recommended

Perfect amount of cream cheese. Tasted fresh. Good cream cheese, the everything bagel actually tasted like an everything bagel. My only complaint is that it was very hot and crowded, but that's not counting against anything.

M

Great breakfast spot in Lake Placid! Yummy bagel varieties and great smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich on a toasted bagel! We sat on the high stools at the front (just a few there) and had a nice window seat while we enjoyed our bagels!

I was in Lake Placid this weekend with my family, and this was the perfect bagel place! It was so good that we went two mornings in a row. Super friendly staff who are very quick and attentive. The egg sandwiches and iced lattes are also delicious. Very good experience! The woman at the register also remembered my boyfriend and I from the day before and was super nice.

Excellent bagels. Simple menu for breakfast sandwiches but well done. Efficient and friendly. The staff is clearly invested in their business’ success.

This place has the best bagels I have ever eaten! It is a little small and can get a little crowded but it is so worth the wait. My kids loved the rainbow bagel. My favorite was the everything bagel with veggie cream cheese (delicious)! Great family owned place. The texture of the bagels were perfect! We were there every morning of our vacation in Lake Placid!

my dauther and I sometimes visit this bagel shop and еvery time we are really impressed! The bagels always afresh, perfectly chewy, and came in a great variety of flavors. I tried the everything - absolutely delicious. The staff is friendly and quick, and the atmosphere is cozy. perfect for breakfast. the place is clean. Prices were reasonable too. And chai tea latte - It was home made warm, spicy, and comforting - my favorite😋 Highly recommend if you're hungry, sad, happy, bored, or just breathing🙂

Delicious bagels. Great atmosphere. They can make anything your kids want. Ours prefer Graham cracker bagel with Nutella and banana. We love Polaris sandwich with salmon and dill cream cheese and Irish oatmeal. It is family owned business which makes it even better. Great compliments for keeping this place affordable. Plain bagel $1.40, coffee $2.97.

This place was great! My boyfriend and I visited Lake Placid for the weekend. We stopped here twice. The bagels we're delicious, the owners (I'm assuming they owned it) we're very friendly. Jalapeno cream cheese was a major hit! Will stop in whenever we're back here.

Stopped in for a quick bite while exploring the Main Street of Lake Placid and the Asiago Cheese Bagel was delicious. It’s pretty small so it’s definitely a grab and go but there is a small bar area inside you can sit at.

Long weekend on lake placid, waking up later and hungry and this place miraculously save the day after all the resto for breakfast were full or closing. My husband took The coffee , very good. I took the chai latte with breakfast bagel ( eggs and bacon) absolutely delicious! I think is more a place to grab ur bagel and leave, not a lot chairs to seat.

M

Many different types of homemade bagels. Limited seating area (10 high chairs). Very tasty and a local favorite. Highly recommended!

Soulshine Bagel is pure vibes! Walk in, and you feel the warmth—not just from the fresh-baked bagels but from the people. Bagels? Soft, chewy, and packed with flavor. So many choices, and every one hits right. The owners put real love into this place, and you can taste it in every bite. If you’re in Lake Placid, don’t miss this spot—one love!

We were so happy we found this bagel shop while in town. We went every morning on our way to whiteface to ski. The Black Russian bagel with veggie cream cheese was the best. The shop was always super busy but the staff is EFFICIENT. The line goes very quick and it really seems like they’ve got it down to a science. We will definitely be back.

S
Sam Zichella

One of my favorite onion bagels across the board. Good sized menu- diverse selection of sandwiches, innovative but familiar at the same time (I’m a big fan of the Polaris). Coffee is super affordable, and the staff makes you feel at home whenever you come in. Will choose this small business over a chain shop any day.

A
Anastasia Andrianova

We definitely recommend Soulshinebagel as the best breakfast place in Lake Placid that opens as early as 7 AM every day. We enjoyed delicious food, good selection of bagels, spreads and toppings, breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal, and a full coffee bar, including a decaf option. It's a family-owned and operated business. They make their customers feel valued and welcomed.

T
Tarandeep Kaur

Vegetarian alert! Being vegetarian and getting a good healthy option to eat is quite a rare occurrence for us. However, we were able to get really good options at the shop. All the members are courteous and nothing is like pre assembled you can ask them to modify as per your need. We ordered one bagel sandwich and one veggie wrap which was panini pressed and we really loved it. We took iced coffees and guy mentioned that we can get free refills while we were there. So definitely recommend.

This is a very quaint bagel shop! I got an everything bagel with cucumber and dill cream cheese. It was delicious, A nice crunch on the outside and chewy on the inside and the cream cheese flavour was a great change! They have lots of other bagel and cream cheese options as well as smoothies and coffees. I would recommend!

Nice variety of sandwich and spread options. Kind and efficient staff. A few seats are available by the front window. It's a cute place that's perfect for a quick takeout breakfast. I enjoyed my sesame bagel!

Excellent! We LOVE Soulshine Bagel. We were in town again this past weekend and stop by twice for bagels! The workers are always friendly and efficient. Sunday morning we had to wait in a line outside due to social distancing and the store being small - however the line moved quick... It is well worth the wait! We love forward to returning to Lake Placid again just for the bagels :)

A great breakfast spot in Lake Placid! They have delicious bagels, fresh sandwiches, that’s perfect for starting your day. The quality of the food really stands out, and it’s clear they put care into what they serve. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic breakfast sandwich or a freshly baked bagel, this place has you covered. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!

I recently visited this charming bagel shop, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made me feel right at home from the moment I stepped in. The bagels are absolutely delicious—fresh, perfectly chewy on the inside, and crisp on the outside. There’s a great variety of flavors and toppings to choose from, so there's something for everyone. I especially loved the sesame bagel with cream cheese—simple but perfection. It’s clear they take great pride in their products, and I’ll definitely be coming back for more. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a fantastic bagel!

Delicious breakfast spot in town! Highly recommend either getting there early or expect a little wait! The staff are so efficient and great however this quaint little spot is small so there is a wait. Givin the pandemic they have created outdoor waiting lines to follow the standards! As for the menu, it is amazing, many different types of bagels from garlic to Russian, artisan creamed cheese, along with a variety of egg and meat mixture. The coffee is delicious as well! They also take Apple Pay :)

Very good bagels, not a huge selection but everything they had was good. It was crowded in the morning on a weekday by 8am. Coffee was just okay. We enjoyed our bagels to go, but if you can grab a seat, it's a nice little spot for breakfast. Next time we visit Lake Placid, we'll be sure to stop again for bagels.

Me and the family visited Lake Placid for 3 days and we came to Soulshine Bagel for breakfast everyday! Delicious food, fast service, and friendly staff. My favorite sandwich was the Barkeater with apple, ham, chedder cheese, and apple butter. Pictured here is the ham, egg, and cheese on an asiago bagel.

We loved this place, picked up breakfast all three days we were in town, and a couple of bagels to carry up Mt Marcy for our hike! They make for a great snack to pack away (even when enjoyed in the rain on the mountain...). Bagels are a good size, just the right amount of fluffy and chewy. Everything had the personal touch, including the home cooked eggs for the sandwiches. Service was speedy considering how busy it was even on a Sunday morning when you couldn’t get a table for brunch anywhere in town for under an hour-long wait. To the reviewer commenting on the price, I would invite him to try the packaged bagels down the street for 30% more, then return to Soulshine to appreciate a homemade version at, what we thought, was a good price.

Have to give this place a review for being a well-oiled breakfast machine. We got our breakfast from here every day of our trip. The bagels are good. The breakfast sandwiches are good. It's a great coffee spot. They are so speedy that they rival Long Island delis. We'll done

Excellent bagel shop with reasonable prices. Seemed to be a family run establishment with lots of options for breakfast and lunch. Everything was delicious and was made fresh. There was always a line out the door when we went and they were out of a lot of bagels by the time we were ready to order. Nonetheless, great establishment and food!

M

Excellent bagels. Many flavors, all great. I ate breakfast here every day I was in Lake Placid. The coffee is OK. Staff not so friendly, and it's a little confusing how to order.

S
Shruthi Chari

Hearty breakfast options and are customisable too. We are pleasantly surprised by how simple and healthy the food options are at Lake Placid. This is another very affordable establishment on Main St. and is a great option for bagels. We got a hummus bagel with spinach and sprouts and oatmeal. Both were really good and didn’t leave us feeling too full (which bagels unfortunately normally do, so this was refreshing).

S
Sara Bischof

Solid place to get a bagel in Lake Placid. I got PB&J and it was delish.

J

Excellent service. Owner and his mom were super nice. Quick and clean inside. Delicious everything and graham cracker bagels. Good breakfast sammies. Tiny bit expensive is my only complaint, which is to be expected in Lake Placid in summer.

Good spot with good food. Only issue Ive had is there small selection of bagels, even shortly after they open. They advertise their rainbow bagels, but seem to be out whenever I go, even at 9am. Doesn't bother me as much as my kids.

D
Dana Sullivan

Fresh and delicious bagels. Their menu advertises a large variety of bagels but when I visited (around 12:30) they had a smaller selection of just the standards. Line moves slowly, but it's worth the wait. They're very generous with the fillings on the sandwiches so you can get a filling meal out of one. They also have a great selection of baked goods which are also very generous portions. Person making the bagels when I visited seemed a little impatient, but the cashier was super sweet.

Hit this place up several times on our trip to Mirror Lake. Great name for a shop, like the Gov't Mule song , "Soulshine, it's better than sunshine, it's better than moonshine, ..." Staff was gratuitous an appreciative; all great attributes to have when you're spending the few days you have off a year on vacation. Coffee was self serve; a big plus in my book. Bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel was satisfying. Nice spot to people watch...they have bar stools and a countertop overlooking the street or an outdoor patio set. Update: this place is still awesome...stayed in the area and stopped by! Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

J

Not a classic, chewy NYC bagel, but tasty nonetheless. Super efficient service. Good breakfast bagel sandwich.

Nikolina Danajloska
Nikolina Danajloska

The bagels were good, different than NYC bagels, but still good. We got the bacon scallion cream cheese, but couldn’t taste the bacon much. The olives pimento cream cheese was better.

Mike Kobzik
Mike Kobzik

Went at 10am. Quite busy. They were out of some of the popular bagels. We got 3 diff kinds of bagels and they were all delicious. Service was fast considering how busy it was. What would make it 5 stars would be to add extra seating to allow a dine in option but it’s a small space so I understand why there’s limited seating (4 seats by window)

Cass
Cass

I do appreciate the gluten free bagel. Is it the best mostly perfect gluten free bagel in the world? No. But it does the job for sure. The filling… was aight. I wish the turkey was warm and cheese was melted. The turkey, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich was just cold, which was so strange. Maybe I needed to request it to be toasted? Line moved very quick. All the staff were so so nice !!

J P

Stumbled upon the place randomly and it turned out to be the best breakfast place in the town. Their varieties are great and people are hard working during rush hours. However, some comfort and dining experience would’ve been nice since the place is a hallway type and don’t have much seating areas. Other than that y’all are just great! 👍🏽

D
David Channin MD

Good, but not great, fresh "bagels" (rolls-with-holes). I don't think these bagels are boiled. Flavorings seemed to be baked onto similar dough as opposed to different doughs. Great selection of spreads and sandwiches.

B
BAMS VIEW

Good bagels, I think they used egg beaters instead of real eggs. My order was ready in 2 minutes, and the eggs were fluffy. The blond lady was extremely rude, I asked for Taylor ham eggs and cheese, and she freaked out and told me I must be from NJ, we don't do that hear and wouldn't let me finish my order. If I wasn't in a rush, I would have walked out and gave her a piece of my mind.

M
Ma Breats

We ordered the ham egg cheese, sausage egg cheese, and bacon egg cheese bagels which were hearty and good portions, but if we are being honest they didn’t taste better than McDonalds. The Cliffhanger had very fresh ingredients but needed salt.

S
Shreyas Ramakrishna

Bagels were ok and the coffee was watered down. The older woman taking orders didn’t seem happy to be there and was in a rush to get it done even though there was no one after me in line. That left a lot to be desired on the service front

A
Abhishek Singh

I had a veggie egg cheese spinach bagel. It was yummy. They sell a variety of option to make your bagel. Quick and fast. They have a 3% conscience fee for card payments. They seem not to change gloves often.

A
Attorney Fay

Wasn’t impressed. Employees weren't friendly at all. Not a good look/feel when you’re dealing with customers. They advertise rainbow bagels and when we went it we were told they only have those on the 4th of July. They should probably let people know that. Loaded my bagel with butter that didn’t even melt cuz the bagel was barely warm. Wouldn’t rush back.

K
Kimberly Sandoval

Long line outside makes you believe this place is high quality but really it's just the only proper bagel shop in town. There is another cafe that serves bagels but I figured this would be the right place to come. I really wanted to like this place but the bagels were just meh very bland and toasting was rushed. They look like they make better bagel sandwiches my boyfriend had a toasted ealverything bagel with smoked Lox lettuce capers and cream cheese red onions and that was good but my toasted asiago with scallion cream cheese was really disappointing. Coffee menu otherwise looked nice and it was crowded hard to maintain 6ft once inside. They also seem to be liked for their colorful rainbow bagel. I would skip this bagel spot if that's truly what you want.

Sophie Martin

The good: Bagels were ok. Nothing special. Prices were on point with market. The bad: Very tight space with no room. You are literally on top of people while waiting in line The ugly: I am Eastern European and understand several languages and while I was waiting in line the staff were complaining about the customers and making comments about some of them. They were smiling acting like they actually cared but were saying rude things. I wanted to let them knew that I understood but I think a review is better.

Cris Z
Cris Z

I waited 15 minutes in line, which frankly, not a big deal. I ordered a bagel with bacon egg and cheese with tomatoes and onions. I took my sandwich and ate it outside on a bench. Upon opening the tin foil and taking a bite I realize there’s no egg. The cheese wasn’t even melted. I couldn’t go back to complain and have them correct it because I was running late for a meeting. Cherry on top, almost $10 for a lousy bagel that wasn’t even correctly made.

I
Ijaz Ahmad

Place is terrible. I almost slipped coming into the shop because they didn’t care to put a rug on the floor. Coffee is watered down and cappuccino was served in a 16 oz cup meaning only 1.8 oz was coffee and the rest was frothy milk. Bagels were nothing special. Wouldn’t recommend.

M
Mukesh Shah

I wish I can give negative reviews for this place. I have never seen a bad attitude like the owner and the server had this morning. The only request I made was to change the gloves and the knife as I’m vegetarian. it took some arguments for the owner to agree. At the end, he said “ I’m only doing because I’m not very busy today. If I’m busy, I’m not gonna do that.” If you are with a vegetarian or vegan belief, please do not go to this place.

If you're from downstate NY this will be disappointing. My eggs were microwaved. She couldn't put ketchup on my wrap. Pretty sure the cheese was fake cheese. The bagels looked like Thomas bagels that you'd buy in the store. Disappointing.

M
Madel Mann

Wow. So bad. Service is horrible. Toasted to them means warmed. Buttered means margarine. No egg salad no tuna salad. What a bad way to start the day. Regrettable choice to say the least. Updating review because now eating the BLT, they put sliced cheese inside! What the?

K
Kyrish Iyer

I don't know what happened; we come here every year, but never again. Prices are high, especially considering they have bagels across the street. The woman working the counter did not want to have any customers. The bagel selection was lacking, the bagels themselves are patheticly small. When the order came up, she didn't even let us know. Just left it in a plastic bag (no wrap, no wax paper to separate the bagels) Honestly, after this experience, I truly hope they get new management, because I am so appalled that I immediately went to post a negative review, something I've never done before.

Bella
Bella

Horrible. They serving bagels a day old, hard as rock. They brewing regular coffee as espresso and serving as expresso. Not worth at all. Please go few steps down and enjoy starbucks, great environment and awsome coffee
