Delicious sushi and awesome service! Disclaimer: I went outside of peak lunch/dinner hours (around 3 pm), so there weren’t many customers. Regardless, waitstaff was very attentive and kind. Outdoor seating is available, which helps with COVID concerns, and they of course have QR codes instead of menus. The Philadelphia Roll was delicious and well worth the price.
Sakura Sushi has become our go-to spot for birthdays and special occasions. We usually go as a family of three and typically spend around $100 or more each visit, and it’s always worth it. The service is consistently on point — friendly, attentive, and quick without ever feeling rushed. The drink menu is also great, with a nice selection of cocktails, beer, and sake. The sushi itself is excellent. Everything tastes very fresh, and there’s a great variety on the menu. I tend to like spicier options while my wife prefers milder rolls, and we’ve never had trouble finding plenty of things we both enjoy. The only downside is that it can get a little noisy when it’s busy, but that’s also a sign that the place is popular. Overall, it’s a fantastic sushi spot and one we look forward to visiting.
2nd visit. I love it here. Servers are amazing. Love the food. Little kids yelling running around didn't like that. Rude parents not watching their idiot kids. 3rd visit..I guess there's a new chef and he made the most disgusting seafood soup. Totally not edible. Same with the fried rice combo tasted Totally different. Not good different. The waitresses always come to our table and talk talk talk talk blah blah blah, so it's really hard to enjoy our food and private time with my wife. Sad to say we will not be returning here anymore. At first it was our favorite place but it took a pretty good nose dive after a few visits.
Can’t believe how long I waited to try this place! I’m always wary of establishments that also serve various cuisines (such as Japanese AND Chinese) but Sakura did not disappoint. All the rolls we ordered were delicious. The fish was fresh, the rolls prepared beautifully - such a great balance between the inside of the roll and the rice. Good size for the price. We will definitely be back for more of their sushi. Service was great. We were seated quickly despite seemingly busy even on a Monday night, our server very friendly and efficient, and food came out quick. The one thing I did not love was the ambiance but that’s not critical to me as the quality of food I get. I was a bit overstimulated with all the screens and bright lights. It was quite an interesting and unexpected experience. Think a sushi bar + Buffalo Wild Wings + a very well lit cafeteria. The food is good enough that I will certainly go back again!
Everything was amazing. Yanti (our server) is the BEST, superior customer service. Kevin is a great owner, he took really good care of us as well. We are regulars!
Fabulous EVERYTHING! The prices are good and the quality is excellent. My daughter and I shared the salt and pepper shrimp, even the side vegetables in this dish are so flavorful and lovely. We had miso and the broth was so delicious my daughter said “mom you HAVE to taste this!”. We also had the fresh tuna sashimi and the slices were so large and the fish was so fresh and bright tasting. Honestly it was a lovely experience (not our first time but probably the best yet). We had a lovely server name Nantiya and she went out of her way to make sure everything was wonderful including refilling my drink without my even asking! Always love coming here and excited to come back again!
Yanti’s and Nantiya’s service is out of this world. They love their job and the passion shows! Thank you! Best Anywhere - as good as it gets. • Hot pot fish ** • Salt & Pepper Shrimp ** • Chon Qin Chicken • Otoro - fatty Tuna * Mongolian Beef Must order every time • Sho Chiku Bai - Junmai Filtered only - I didn’t like the unfiltered as much - get the 187ml bottle • Romeo and Juliet Prosecco - for Payal • . • Mongolian chicken • Beef or chicken flat rice noodle ** • Sushi ○ Fatty salmon sushi ○ Dragon roll** ○ 5th Avenue ** ○ Happy ending roll • Chill oil *** Not bad • Fried rice. And spicy fried rice. • Soup dumplings • Shrimp pork chive dumplings • Thai curry chicken - spices were not fried enough • Spicy curry combo fried rice. Could be tastier if curry powder fried more • Tonkatsu Ramen. Was not spicy enough • General Tsos Meh • Yokohama roll • Spicy Fish - vinegary and thick * fatty yellow tail was meh Avoid • Jalapeño Chicken - super sweet
Great sushi and Chinese dishes. We spent about $50 bucks for two people, no alcohol. My lunchmate ordered the Roll combo B (Boston Roll, Spider Roll) and I ordered the Chirashi sashimi special (pictured). Service was excellent. Our server was Nantiya and she was really on the ball! Highly recommended.
Sakura Sushi Bar is an Excellent Asian restaurant located close to H.E.B in Lakeway, Texas. Three of us went back for lunch. (Have been there a few times before). The restaurant was clean and staff very friendly and helpful. We had the Bento and with chicken, Roll Combo and Teriyaki Rice Bowl. All were delicious. Definitely worth checking out.
We were very happy with our meal at Sakura. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful answering questions. We had the salmon and sushi bento boxes and a “not spicy” orange chicken. They were more than willing to accommodate our son’s request. And when i complimented the tempura dipping sauce, the waitress added a couple extra small to go containers to take with our leftovers. The atmosphere was pleasant. A nice place but relaxed & family friendly.
I’ve been to Sakura Sushi twice for lunch, and unfortunately, it hasn’t fully convinced me yet. The first time, I ordered the chicken teriyaki lunch. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t memorable either. The second time, I decided to try their sushi rolls, and that experience was disappointing. The main issue was the seaweed (nori). The texture was very strange—chewy and almost rubbery, as if it wasn’t fresh. Because of that, the sushi overall didn’t taste good or fresh, and it really affected the entire dish. That being said, the service is very good. The staff has always been kind and attentive. The place itself is nice, small but cozy, and well taken care of. While I appreciate the friendly service and pleasant atmosphere, the food still needs improvement. Because of the food quality, I don’t think I would return.
My 1st time trying the food at this establishment and I was very disappointed. I had the food delivered and it was on time. The quality of the food was terrible and extremely over priced for the tiny portion size. One item was sent as a large, when I had ordered a small. This experience left me very upset! I do not recommend this restaurant.
Cons: The food tasted like soap, sushi rolls, ramen soup. Maybe they clean their cooking boards with Clorox wipes. Maybe it’s in the water they use. It’s very strange. The chicken dish was inedible. I will not be coming back and very disappointed. How can place like this be still in business? The only pro: the server was nice and attentive.
